Hi,
I am having X61 Thinkpad with following specification:
OS Name Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic
Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001
System Model 7675CTO
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     T8100  @ 2.10GHz, 2101 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date LENOVO 7NETB9WW (2.19 ), 27/11/2008
SMBIOS Version 2.4
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 3.00 GB
I bought it in May 2008, first it was fine but now it automatically turn to sleeping mode while i am working on it. Is there any one fimiliar with my problem and can help me please do reply.
Regards.

another problem that comes to my mind is that you might have updated your BIOS and that has caused your fan to stop working on time and therefore your system is heating... and when it reaches a certain threshold it goes to sleep... hope this solves your problem...

  • 6th generation iPod nano automatically turns off when I push het sleep/wake button or when screen turns black after a while. How can I solve this ?

My 6th generation iPod nano automatically turns off (=stops the music) when I push het sleep/wake button or when screen turns black for power saving mode. Does anyone know how to solve this ?
I have already tried resetting, connecting to PC/iTunes to check the software version, turning off/on, I don't have any inspiration anymore.
    Thanks for your suggestions!

    Hi VeerleD,
If your iPod touch unexpectedly powers off, you may want to use the steps in this article to troubleshoot -
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting (The steps apply for the iPod touch) -
    Specifically -
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Wifi automatically turned off when phone sleeps in iOS 5.1.1?

Before, I used iOS 5.0.1 and wifi would keep turned on when the phone sleeps if I turn off data. This way I could always receive instant notifications. But then I sold the verizon phone and bought a used FU one, installed with iOS 5.1.1. Now wifi is automatically turned off when phone the sleeps, even when data is off. Is this how it works? Because I want to use wifi, even when the phone is off. Thanks.

I have had and iphone 4 for the last couple of years with all the different IOS upgrades and never experienced such a thing!? I do not have a cell data plan (I even have it switched of in settings) so I rely on wifi and, even when the phone was in standby, the wifi was constantly on! and I received e-mails and skype calls as they arrived, So wifi was certainly ON!
However, since the last upgrade to IOS 6.0 the wifi is indeed being turned off when the phone goes to sleep mode, which is very annoying!
    Any fix/workaround?
    Thanks

  • My ipod automatically turns on by itself, can anyone help

My ipod automatically turns itself on and when on and in sleep mode it automatically wakes up every few seconds. also I cannont connect to the app store or anything. Can anyone help??

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. You may need to connect the device to the charger before you attempt the reset.

  • Ipod automatically turns on when headphones connected.

Please help! I have an Ipod 5th generation, 30 gb. When I plug my headphones into jack, my ipod automatically turns on. Also, I am not seeing the apple logo anymore, when I first turn on the ipod. It goes right back to the spot where I turned it off. I tried the five R's and it's still doing it! Thanks.

When you connect the headphones or slide the hold switch on or off the ipod will turn on.
You will only see an apple logo on you ipod if you bring it out of a deep sleep ( been off for more than a day) or while you are resetting the ipod.
Here are som good articles on the apple web site for learning more about the ipod.

  • My iPod automatically turning on

I'm not worried about it, but at random times (most likely after its done charging) and i go to turn it off and then set it on my bedside table, it will automatically turn on...not a big deal or anything it will only do it a couple of times in a row before i can finally get it to turn off for good, and no im not accidentally pressing buttons on it, i just want to know why it does it sometimes

    - Try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next connect to the computer and try to restore the iPod via iTunes on the computer.
    - Next see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • Making an External Lacie automatically turn on on startup???

Hi. Is it possible to make your lacie or any other external drives automatically turn on on startup. My lacie is really hard to get to because of a lack of space and this would really help if its possible.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Ben

Might not make sense just for the one item but you get power strips with smart sockets that detect how much power is being taken by a "master" socket. When this exceeds a certain value it switches on the other sockets.
I use this here to ensure monitors and speakers are only on when the mac is switched on. The UK energy Saving Trust has details of at least one supplier.
There's a danger when using these things with disks if the machine can sleep and kill the power to a disk that is mounted but with care it might be what you are looking for.

  • MSI GT60 automatically goes to sleep

For some reason, my MSI GT60 goes to sleep automatically. I have even changed power settings to prevent this by right clicking > Personalize > Screen Saver > Change Power Settings. By default Balanced is already checked. However, I have even gone into Change Plan Settings and adjusted all settings to never turn off. I have also used my own custom settings without luck.
Can anyone tell me why my computer is still falling asleep after a couple of minutes (if my machine is idle)?
    Thank you.

While I'm sure Jame's command line will work....
Are you sure that you changed the settings for sleep?
Control Panel->Power Options->"Change when the computer sleeps" on the left side, and then make them all "Never"?
I'm guessing you probably did, but figured I'd ask.
Also, are you using the "ECO" button and such to change your power plans? If you are, that might really be the culprit.
Yes, the method I went to change sleep settings is just another way to get to the same result as you did via control panel. Either way, the computer is automatically going to sleep regardless. I did not mess the ECO button.
I will try James suggestion if there are no alternatives. Just scratching my head as to why my computer overrides the settings in control panel?!
    Thanks for your responses.

  • Does iPod nano automatically turns off if not used in 2 minutes?

Does iPod nano automatically turns off if not used in 2 minutes?
this is the questions tha runs my mind bcoz I just bought it about 2 weeks ago and just this recently I noticed that it automatically switches off after 2 minutes if remained untouched even if i did not set the sleep mode. Well, it normally functions coz during playing a song it does not sleeps but by the time pausing the song and after two minutes the nano switches off, but if you press any key it goes back again and you can play the paused song again. is this thing normal? i am really bothered by this. please help me THANKS A LOT

I recently bought a 2nd Generation 8Gb iPod Nano and can state for a fact that if you pause a song for exactly two minutes the device will turn off, probably to save batttery power. I tested it three times already and clocked it.
However, I also noticed that my iPod also seems to turn off by itself (even when sleep / timer is not selected) when I'm shuffling through songs using the forward/next and/or rewind/back buttons repeatedly.
Is this normal, or just a bad coincidence?
I've tried the 5 Rs but the problem persists. It really annoys me because I have the habit of skipping lots of songs.

  • When I define a variable in BO it automatically turns it into a detail

i have made a user prompt in my report
so the user can input a value that does not exist in universe so i can use it as condition or a filter,
i have done this by using the followiing condition in the query
       object = object
    or
       object = ToPrompt("Give number")
As you can see by the logic this condition will ALWAYS be true because object  = object  is always true. So this logic will not impact the rest of the query it will just allow to enter any value in the user prompt
in the report when i try to create a new variable
    =ToNumber(UserResponse ("Query 1 with NEW_UNIV" , "Give number"))
it automatically turns it into a detail and i cant change it to measure or dimension.
is there a way to fix this
    thanks in advance

  • How to get iBook to Automatically turning the page

It used to do this on The software before but now I just can't get it to do it on iOS 7  please can anybody help thanks in advance

That depends on what you mean by "automatically turning the page". The only available settings for page turning behavior is in Settings > iBook > Both Margins Advance.
