My Xfce4-panel wont let me 'move' panel plugins...

I can right-click on them, select 'move' and drag the little hand around, but the whole panel is greyed and no matter where I click, the move is unsuccessful and the plugin just goes to its original position.
I've tried deleting stuff in .config/xfce4/panel and .cache, so that the panel starts completely default, but it has the same issue.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip on moving those around. Indeed it is a bug in gtk2.22 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=634765  . Here is the xfce bug report also on this http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6818  .

    Yup! I've been there! You just have to double-tap the screen with three fingers and the zoom should go back. You have to turn off the feature in Settings>Accessibility>Zoom>and turn the switch off so this won't happen again when you double-triple tap.

  • [solved] xfce4-panel plugins keep crashing after update

    I've been having problems with xfce4-panel after some recent updates. Several plugins for it, like the Action Buttons, CPU graph and Notification Area keep crashing right after being added to the panel. The error message isn't very helpful, just saying the plugin in question "unexpectedly left the panel". Any ideas on how to debug this?

    I found the problem. I was running the panel without the rest of xfce4. I thought this was doable, but apparently some applets assume you have the base packages of xfce4 installed, as the problems ceased when I installed them.

  • Bookmarks in toolbar jump positions and wont let me move them where i want

    i just recently moved and had comcast come setup my internet. They installed alot of homepages and a link in my bookmarks toolbar. i didnt want that stuff so i deleted it. now, all of my bookmarks in the toolbar keep moving around and unorganizing themselves. when i go to drag them back into the order i want, i can move some but only where it wants to go. not where i want it to. when i restart firefox the order is different every time. this is weird. i just want to be able to organize and drag and drop bookmarks but its acting weird and wont let me.

  • Summoning xfce4 panel plugin via keyboard.

    I am a xfce4 user. And I like this desktop system, but I can't summon the panel plugins, in particular the clipboard one, via keyboard.
    Does someone know how to?
    Thanks

    xo3e wrote:I tried to remove and add the xfce4-xkb-plugin (as SoK0LiK suggested), I even reinstalled it, but it helped just for one XFce session, then it went wrong again. However, I doubt it is the plugin's fault.
    As I suspected - neither it survived a session on my machine.
    xo3e wrote:The problem occured after i updated glibc (2.7-4 -> 2.7-5) and xorg-server (1.4-4 -> 1.4-5).
    Thanks for great hint! I did an upgrade of glibc as well, just could not remember it :-) Now we can suspect locale settings is somehow messed in newest glibc and newest xserver can't handle it. I'll try to find some info about it when I come back since right now I've gotta go.
    xo3e wrote:I'm experiencing very similar problem: the panel plugin refuses to show a flag (or even a name) for my alternate keyboard layout and displays "(null)" instead. My "alts_toggle" bothers me as well, as it switches from "us" to "cz" properly, but returns to default after pressing just one ALT key.
    I use this settings:
    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Keyboard[0]"
    Driver "kbd"
    Option "Protocol" "Standard"
    Option "XkbLayout" "us,cz"
    Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
    Option "XkbOptions" "grp:alt_caps_toggle,grp:switch,grp_led:scroll"
    Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
    EndSection
    and toggling/switching works fine (i.e. it does not act weird in any way). Just the xfce-xkb-plugin shows (null) instead of Czech flag (or name) and won't remember per-window settings.
    There is already a bugreport in flyspray but it's been closed for some reason. I've requestet reopening.

  • Xfce4-panel (Internal plugins need the "X-XFCE-Module-Path")

    Hi!
    Is this just me having done something wrong, Is this still not fixed or do I have to copy some files over the old versions in ~/ to make a fix work?

    First of all: If you never got to try those two plug-ins - they're not really that useful and you might just want to remove them for now if you don't need them. I removed them, as soon as I tried them.
    For the flickering you might want to open a seperate topic - never encountered that (although I had the other error on several distros), don't think it's related.
    And to get back to the "X-XFCE-Module-Path" - error again: are you sure you didn't

    - just not restart the panel yet?
    Hi, the flickering on the panel is when the modules tries to load i guess, it stops when the warnings in the "background" stops.

  • Why wont my xfce4-panel remember its settings?

    I'm using xfce4-panel in Compiz Standalone, so there is no xfce-session manager or anything.
    I put the clock plugin on it and changed the display to digital, but it just wont remember its settings when I close and reopen it.

    If you are exiting the panel via ending your Compiz/X session, then Xfce Panel will not save its settings because Compiz does not gracefully end its process before it terminates and the panel crashes.
    You will need to exit the panel from its Exit menu in order for Xfce Panel to save its settings, then re-launch it.

So I want to move my iphone over to a new icloud account with my new apple id that i made but i dont want to delete the ipads off the old account just move the iphone to the new one. How do I do that I despreatly need help!!!

    To migrate your phone to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep on the phone, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; your other devices won't be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted .  Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data to the new account.

    Hello,
    I'm having multiple problems with Action buttons from XFCE4 panel. I use slim (1.3.3-5) and Xfce (4.10).
    1. Suspend and switch user option is greyed out.
    2. The 'main button' (which displays user name) appears about 2 minutes after log in. When I try to click on it, it's unresponsive for about another 2 minutes.
    3. When I finally get to click on 'Shut Down' it only logs me out to slim.
    When I restart dbus (/etc/rc.d/dbus restart) while logged in to XFCE the button appears instantly, and is responsive. Shut down doesn't work though.

    It could be an issue with your session environment not being set correctly. I use the following script to start my session (using lightdm, not slim, but this should be ok for your xinitrc)
    #!/bin/sh
    # Load profile
    for file in "/etc/profile" "$HOME/.profile" "/etc/xprofile" "$HOME/.xprofile"; do
    if [ -f "$file" ]; then
    echo "Loading profile from $file";
    . "$file"
    fi
    done
    # Load resources
    for file in "/etc/X11/Xresources" "$HOME/.Xresources"; do
    if [ -f "$file" ]; then
    echo "Loading resource: $file"
    xrdb -nocpp -merge "$file"
    fi,,,,,,,
    done
    # Load keymaps
    for file in "/etc/X11/Xkbmap" "$HOME/.Xkbmap"; do
    if [ -f "$file" ]; then
    echo "Loading keymap: $file"
    setxkbmap `cat "$file"`
    XKB_IN_USE=yes
    fi
    done
    # Load xmodmap if not using XKB
    if [ -z "$XKB_IN_USE" ]; then
    for file in "/etc/X11/Xmodmap" "$HOME/.Xmodmap"; do
    if [ -f "$file" ]; then
    echo "Loading modmap: $file"
    xmodmap "$file"
    fi
    done
    fi
    unset XKB_IN_USE
    # Run all system xinitrc shell scripts.
    xinitdir="/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d"
    if [ -d "$xinitdir" ]; then
    for script in $xinitdir/*; do
    echo "Loading xinit script $script"
    if [ -x "$script" -a ! -d "$script" ]; then
    . "$script"
    fi
    done
    fi
    # Load Xsession scripts
    xsessionddir="/etc/X11/Xsession.d"
    if [ -d "$xsessionddir" ]; then
    for i in `ls $xsessionddir`; do
    script="$xsessionddir/$i"
    echo "Loading X session script $script"
    if [ -r "$script" -a -f "$script" ] && expr "$i" : '^[[:alnum:]_-]\+$' > /dev/null; then
    . "$script"
    fi
    done
    fi
    echo "X session wrapper complete, running session $@"
    exec $@
    Also, you may need to wrap consolekit around your session as per the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xfce
