My yahoo email account won't load on my iPhone.
It will take my password and username but then when I go into the email app and try to load the mailing hangs for ages then says there are 7 other messages. Then I try pressing that to load them but it just sits there!! I haven't been using my yahoo account long but would like to get this sorted so I can actually use it!

Yahoo email account won't set up
I had my verizon.net email account working for over 3 years.
Suddenly yesterday I noticed that I wasn't receiving emails. What I noticed was I was getting an error saying that there was a problem with apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com server wasn't connecting.
I tried a new yahoo account and it gives me the same error. Even when I attempted to set up my Gmail account, it failed with the same thing.
Ay ideas what is going on? Is this a operating system problem or has Apple done something?
Thank youThis may seem strange to anyone who reads this, but I figured out how to get this to work.
I was trying this at home connecting through my WiFi connection. When I went outside, away from my WiFi, and using my network, everything worked fine.
I came home, connected back to my WiFi and it failed again. I turned off my WiFi and sure enough it worked.
I don't know why my WiFi would make this happen, but it did.

Should my "Contacts" be "On" or "Off" for my Yahoo email account?
I lost all of my Contacts in my COMPUTER for my Yahoo email account; I then looked through my iPhone to see what my email settings showed and it showed my Contacts were turned "Off". I turned them 'On" and now I'm getting ominous messages about turning it back "Off" again. (I don't know what I'm doing and should never have turned them "ON" without knowing what I was doing.)
Does anyone know if I can get my iPhone email contacts back onto my computer? And Should my iPhone be "On" or "OFF" for my Contacts in my Yahoo email settings?? Help!You only turn that off if you have very sensitive operations and data that cannot be corrupted by power loss or serious loss incurs. Mainly server operations and database files.

I have a yahoo email account setup on my iPad & iPhone. The new mail is never marked as unread when downloaded to my iPad or iPhone. Is there anyway to fix this?

If I understand correctly you are going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Add Account but that last option is not usable because it is gray. In testing this for you, I was able to reproduce this by enabling Restrictions and denying Account Changes. You can configure that with this article:

I have an Apple Ipad. I was having problems receiving and sending emails via my yahoo email account. I deleted the account and then tried to install it but it won't connect to server. Could you let me know what I do please?
I think you have to turn off Private Browsing.
Tap "Private" on Safari Screen to disable Private Browsing. When top of screen is white, Private Browsing is off.

Yahoo mail contacts won't load on Firefox 3.6
I am using FF 3.6 on XP. Yahoo mail contacts won't load so I can't access my contacts list for emails, etc.
I am able to successfully open Yahoo mail and view my contacts in IE 7. The contacts tab opens and I can access addresses for email etc.

Android Phone and Verizon-Yahoo Email account
I've had my Verizon-Yahoo email account as my default email on my Android phone for nearly
2 years. Suddenly, it does not sync with my actual email anymore and I cannot retrieve newly
sent email to me.
What happened?
I deleted my Verizon-Yahoo email account thinking I could readd it without issue and now it
won't add it. So, I am without my regular, most used email address on my mobile phone.
How do I fix this problem step by step and what happened in the first place.
If I canot retrieve my email there is no need for data. I need it for college classes and work,
as well as other business uses.
Can someone help me?
In addition, I have been receiving ALOT of SPAM on my regular Verizon-Yahoo email over the
past 6-12 months and I don't understand why. How do I fix that. I keep sending these adult ads
and other SPAM to the SPAM folders but it keeps coming back!! Is someone signing me up

I experience the same problem when I downloaded systems updates on my Android Bionic phone, I was not able to sync my Verizon Yahoo email account. I went through the same steps and nothing worked, until one savvy Verizon Wireless IT support agent told me to download the Yahoo Mail App on to my phone and that solved my problem instantly. I logged in using my Verizon.net username and password and have been able to access my email with no problems ever since and have also updated my Yahoo Mail App and all works beautifully.

Original non BT Yahoo email account
I've just come on to BT Broadband over the last couple of days and although I could access my non BT Yahoo email account yesterday I cannot today. I see there is something about SMTP verification - is that what I need to do? Or do I need to access via Outlook Express - which at the moment is downloading only my (disconnected but still live) ntlworld emails! Can I in all this preserve my inboxes, folders and files, and address books from both the Yahoo and current Outlook Express accounts?

I find that, with a BTYahoo window open and signed in, if I open another tab and go to yahoo.co.uk I'm logged in as my BTY persona. Signing out of that, and logging in again with a yahoo ID gets me a page where I'm signed in with my Yahoo credentials.

I don't have Yahoo or BT Yahoo downloading to my Outlook Express only my old ntlworld account which is still operative in my previous home (where family still use it) so presumably I can continue to get these although I cannot reply so of course I'm in the process of letting all contacts/subscriptions know.

OE could, I think, be setup to deal with all 3, yes (but I don't use OE, so I can't be specific as to exactly what you'd need to do) and leave your archives and address books alone.
I say "OE could, I think, be setup to deal with all 3". What I really mean is that it's possible - if OE can't do it, there are certainly other mail clients that can.
And could I reply to both Yahoo and BT emails?
Yes - it'll require some setting up, which I can't help you with.
Or would I be better just to have BT as an email account (preferable) but how would I do this without losing the other two accounts' files/folders/contacts?
The BT/Yahoo mail servers don't do IMAP, so you won't be able to sync. folders, contacts etc with OE, but they should still be usable via the webmail interface.
BTY can be configured to fetch email from other accounts - would that be of any help ? -
We just purchased our first Ipad. It is a mini with retina display 16 GB. How do I go back a page? I see no arrows to page back. Also when I log into a yahoo email account and open an email I see now way to log out? Thank you for any help
In Safari, (the web browser), there are specific arrows to go back and forward through website pages.
In other Apps, it will depend on how the App is built.
As to Yahoo Mai it depends on where you are viewing the email. If you are using the Mail App, then you don't log out. The Mail accounts in the Mail App are always there.
If you are using the Yahoo App, You can Tap on the folder at the top, then on your account/name, and then on Sign Out. -

Issue seems to be only with main inbox, as sub folders are receiving mail. Other Apple device is not having issues like this, just on iPhone.

Your issue is with the Yahoo email account which is notoriously bad.
you can try deleting and reinstalling the email account.
If that doesn't fix it try the yahoo email app. -
Since updating Firefox browser, i am unable to gain access to my yahoo email account. I can access the email with Interent Explorer with no trouble. Whenever I click on a mail link on the yahoo sites to check my mail, I get rerouted to an error page ..... "Sorry, we can't find "ca.mg4.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?.gx=1". Please check the spelling of the web address." is what is said at top of page whenever I click on any mail links.
This is how I fixed it on my new iPhone 5S. Using the standard yahoo setting on my phone.
You will have to access "managing your app passwords" on your account profile for yahoo. Generate password for your app. For example: "My iPhone 5S'
Go to your Iphone and set up your yahoo mail account on your phone the normal way and you have to use the generated password. instead of the yahoo account password.

I have always had my Yahoo Email, Calendar and Contacts synched to my iPhone. However, I noticed some Contacts weren't synching from the Yahoo account to my iPhone, so I thought if I just deleted the Yahoo account and added it back, I'd be fine. That worked fine for my Email and Calendar, but now I have NO Contacts from Yahoo on my iPhone. When I go to Settings, under Contacts, it doesn't even have the option for 'Default Account.' Help!

It's not clear exactly what you're trying to accomplish here. If you're wanting to set up SMS forwarding introduced in iOS 8, then please follow the directions below. Also, your Apple ID should be an email address.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
