When I load my yahoo mail it does not function right. I can not respond, or answer my mail. It asks I switch to basic mail or continue. It does not let me switch. There is a bar missing where you direct my mail. Reply, forward, delete, spam,print. When I switch over to Internet Explorer. I have no problem.

In Yahoo mail the logout 'button' is not active when using Firefox (currently 3.6.8) (&running on XP) so the onlyb way to Logout is to close the browser ( works fine on same Laptop with IE)

I, too, am having a problem with my Yahoo email account on my first generation IPad. I can't download my emails to my IPad from the server. The IPad looks like it's trying to download them but can't do it. I am able to send emails from my IPad with my Yahoo account.
This problem started yesterday, Aug., 25th, the day after I uploaded the last update from Apple. I am able to set up another email account through Sbcglobal that will download my emails to my IPad but it is not sync'ed with my desktop mail which creates a mess when I move or delete emails.
I've tried deleting my Yahoo account and then adding it back. Also I've reset my IPad and I've done a full restore.
I think it has something to do with the last update, which I believe was a security update, which may have reset the firewall. That's just a guess.
Has anyone figures out anything else?

What do you mean your Yahoo mail isn;t working? If you are talking about it not working in the mail app, remove your account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add it again. Then follow the instructions here to recover your Apple ID password.

It could be something that yahoo has done in their perpetual 'improvements'. Beyond removing and readding your info there's not much you can do but wait it out. If Yahoo has broken it, yahoo has to fix it.
In the past I've accessed my yahoo via mobile safari and I believe they also have their own mail app, you may want to explore those as a work around until it resolves.

I e-mailed Yahoo for help with Yahoo mail and was given the following instructions: Remove Yahoo account from your iPhone, turn the phone off and back on, and then re-add to trigger a re-sync on your Yahoo acccount. I have a apple ibook and it has safari Version 5.0.6 (5533.22.3) and when I go to yahoo mail it will not load says it is no longer supported. If your Mac is an older PowerPC style Mac, then OS X 10.5.8 is as high an OS as your Mac will go.
If your Mac is a much older PowerPC Mac, you could try TenFourFox which is more up to date web browser, based on Mozilla Firefox, for older PowerPC Macs run OS X 10.4 Tiger or OS X 10.5 Leopard.

Before I install Firefox 4, I have been use Firefox 3.6 and when I was checking my yahoo mail, there was not any problem to view or download file attachment.

I do not use Trend Micro, but have the same issues. I just found my "AdBlock Plus" add-on was stopping the attachment download. What you should do to see if this is your problem too: disable AdBlock Plus, restart firefox and see if your problem is solved. Now enable AdBlock Plus again and restart Firefox.
To fix this problem: In Firefox, click on Add-ons, go to AdBlock Plus, go to Options, click on Filters--> reset statistics. Go to your attachment, click on the attachment (it will fail to download of course). Go back to AdBlock Plus and sort the statistics for "Hits". Now you can see which filter is blocking your attachment download. Disable this filter and you problem is solved!

<li>Go to Tools > Options. Click the Content tab.</li>
<li>In the Content section, next to Load images automatically, click the Exceptions button. </li>
<li>Now, find the site you want to re-allow images for, click it and hit the Remove button.</li>

Yahoo mail sometimes not opening

I didn't put all info in last inquiry... I have iMac, purchased 2-6-08 with Snow Leopard ver 10.6.8. I'm having trouble with Yahoo and accessing my email.
First Yahoo loads slow. Second, when I enter mail, it sometimes loads a blank page. Sometimes it shows mail I can't open. After a couple of restarting Sarfari, and hitting mail it works.... Yahoo is also taking longer to open websites.I know yahoo had upgraded fomat (my yahoo). I never had this email problem before... We also use msn.com, no problem with msn, just problem with yahoo. Any suggestions for fix? Is there a yahool upgrade? I have yahoo for Snow Leopard.

I'm using yahoo mail through my mail app and it's starting not to save my drafts when I save them. It just started and don't know how to fix it. Anyone know?

I am seeing the same bug. It worked a few days ago (since I got the phone), but yesterday it stopped working. I've noticed some other minor changes in their web client as well, so clearly they've done an 'upgrade' of some kind and have broken their mail server. Even more frustrating is that the phone loses all changes to the email that was being saved -- I lost a fair bit of text before I realized that this was happening.
