What is happening is that your on-device battery meter is off-sync with the actual battery charge. Connect to your OEM wall outlet battery charger and while still connected and powered on, remove the battery a minute to reboot. After reboot leave to fully charge to 100%.
Thus will reset the false charge reading. You may need to do perform this procedure 2-3 times.

Sounds as if the battery may need to be recalibrated. Let the battery drain until it turns off. Then connect the phone to the charger and let it charge to 100%. Disconnect and then use it. It should get it back to a better read. The batteries are designed to shut down when the battery has a certain amount of power left. The battery percentage is not always that accurate.

You should try this... whenever your phone gets switched off at 40% try to keep the out of your phone for an hour then your battery charges from 0%..
I've tried this it worked out for ma phone..!!!

My 701 set is a year old. It is now out of the warranty period. Now the irony is, whenever I put a sim card in my nokia 701, it gets automatically switched off.
For this reason, i have contacted the nokia care people, but they said the whole simcard slot need to be changed & it will cost me Rs. 5000 (indian rupees). As you can see, if you purchase a mobile of Rs. 17000 a year before & finding out a year later that it will take another Rs. 5000 to fix it, you can finally say, "Nokia, have you lost your mind. !!"
And one more thing, if i get it fixed by nokia, will i get the warranty of the replaced part (sim card slot) ?
Any solution to fix my problem is appreciated.

Normally you should get some warranty on the repaired part, you need to check with your local Nokia Care Point, since this probably varies by location. I would expect 3-6 months warranty for the repair.

Actualy the main problem is that when i put the phone in to my jeans or trousers pocket it get switched off automatically i dont know how even if the phone is locked...the version is 32.001 & the custom version is 32.001.53.1 i have tried sftware update through nokia.co.in but it wont worked..i have one doubt that it dont worked because the phone is bought from dubai & i m trying to update it here in india...i tried the software update but still when i check the software version through *#0000# it shows not updated.

Go to itunes and restore your phone from backup, make sure you have a recent backup in itunes of your phone first.

3GS switching off when getting e-mail (push)

My 3GS is going switch off when getting e-mail (push or fetch). It's happen when phone loose 3G network covering - changed to EDGE or GPRS, or during the call (3G enabled). If I switch off push and scheduled fetch here no more problem.
It's happen everywhere in the world.
Any same case or any solution?

I am looking down the barrel of yet another fruitless restore. What a crap product.

Try a reset:

I don't understand your logic. If you already used the battery for many hours, then it is likely to be quite weak. Alkaline batteries die gradually, and there might be enough power to get the player to play for a while, but not to switch functions. Try a fresh battery and tell us if you are still having a problem.

IPad-2 getting switched off

MY iPad is getting switched off frequently. It's having a 100% battery. But while using it , it turns off automatically . Then it shows battery icon to switch it to power when trying to switch it on. Once the iPad is on, it shows the total percent as 100 or sometimes 70 or 80.
