My Z10 has no alerts, ringtones or notifications

Hi All
My Z10 suddenly lost all ringtones , alerts and notifications 24 hrs ago.Only the vibration works.
No changes to settings were made. The Z10 has updated OS software.Rebooted a 100 times .Switced phone ON/OFF. .....NO JOY......PLEASE HELP!!!

Do other sounds work -- music, for instance?  Also, have you set any custom notifications?
Also, found this:  http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=KB33694&sliceId=2&cm...
Some people report solving the issue by inserting and then removing headphone plug.  But if you are on 10.1, should not be happening.

  • Z10 has cancelled all my emails (from 5 accounts) from activation date from servers!!

    Hello folks,
I am desperate to receive support from the forum as my beloved (or ex-beloved) Z10 has decided to CANCEL ALL MY EMAILS, work and private, when I have switched the SIM card for a personal one.
    This happened with my
    Work email
    Gmail
    iCloud
    Yahoo
    MSN
all the emails have been deleted from the day of activation of Z10 thru yesterday (that makes about 10 days of hard work and related emails).
    Any chance to
    Get them back
    Avoid this to happen again?
At the moment I have deactivated the work email from Z10 and have activated "only" iCloud and Gmail private emails.
    Looking fwd for your feedback,
    Regards
    P

  • IPhone 5, iOS 7: Alert/Ringtone volumes low...

I updated my black 32gb iPhone 5 to iOS 7 last week and one of the very things I noticed was how many missed calls/texts I had. I couldn't understand why until I went to change my tones to something more attention grabbing.... I noticed that the volume of the alerts and ringtones, including the classics, are too low to be useful. At first I thought it was my imagination until I went to work and my coworkers IDENTICAL phone started ringing, and boy did it sound great. Clear, crisp, loud. I compared her phone running iOS 7 to mine and there was a huge difference in the ringtones & alerts.
So, now that I know it's not just my imagination - I have spent all day looking for other people having this same issue. I have found a few, but nobody has a solution. This is occurring on not only the iPhone 5 but also the iPhone 4 & 4s - but not to everyone. That would lead me to believe that there may be a hardware issue with my phone but here's the rub: It sounded loud, crisp & clear when I was using iOS 6.1.4. So a software issue? If so why wouldn't it be affecting everyone and not just a few of us? This is beyond baffling and frustrating...
Before I take this phone to Apple (thank goodness it is under warranty) I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this issue and FIXED IT. What I've tried so far is turning the volume down and up, turning up all volumes not just the ringer and restoring the phone to factory settings through iTunes. None of it worked (thus this post), therefore as I said if anyone has a solution to this prior to me making the several hour journey to the Apple store I would love to know what it is. Thank you in advance.

I have experienced the same issue of low ringer volume and the penny dropped when music settings came up. I hooked up bluetooth last night to a sound system and changed EQ from bass booster to late night to increase volume on music played from my iPod, which worked, incidentally. I turned off bluetooth and changed EQ from late night to flat and issues were resolved. Turned bluetooth back on played music checked ringtones and volume and not working again. So. Sounds aren't cooperating when bluetooth is enabled for sound I'm guessing. It's the only bluetooth device I'm using now. The same problem exists with TEXT SPEAK which is what I was attempting to get iPhone to do when this ordeal started! I'm exhausted with the minutia of iPhone 5, iOS7 and all things Apple!

  • Z10 ringer and alerts off when i remove bluetooth

hi, so i heard about all alerts turning off when connected to bluetooth and i couldnt find the thread anymore once i registered.
When i get out of my car and the built in car bluetooth turns off, all my alerts and ringer dont work when if my phone is on the normal setting and volume full blast.
i have to power off the phone and power it back for the phone to go back to normal. since i work on the road on in and out of my car and its EXTREMELY frustrating.......
    can anyone help?

From what I am told and had a few instances, with some types of Bluetooth devices (I don't know which types), when connecting and disconnecting, the ring tones may be muted. The present fix is a battery pull.
From what I interpreted the OS in the phone still thinks it has to ring the Bluetooth device and not the phone.
I found I have the same issue with my Z10 with my car Bluetooth system, but not with my Blackberry Bluetooth earphone.

  • Blackberry Z10 has deleted all my emails from all my accounts...also it has deleted emails from server side (OS Rev. 10.1.0.4181)

    It's happened a bad thing.
My Z10 (OS 10.1.0.4181) has decided to delete, from all my email account , each emails from july to today!!!! It's unacceptable!!! I have paid 700 Euro for a smartphone that delete my email?! It has deleted also emails from the server!!!
    WTF!!!
Who pay for damage that I had?! So Blackberry, wake up! I am so disappointed!
I pretend an answer from blackberry!!! Now!!!!

    Hey alexsgv,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
What type of email accounts are added to the BlackBerry Z10?  Are they all POP3 and IMAP accounts?  Also when a message is removed from the BlackBerry smartphone it will remove it from the mail server, this is by design.
Did you do any software updates recently?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • TXT MSG Alert ringtone too low....Pls Help

    Hi
I recieved HTC trophy today and all my excitement was vanished when I found that  the Alerts available on phone for text messages & Emails are too low.
I  manage a Data Center and our Monitoring servers in Data center sends txt messages when anything goes wrong in Data Center.
With HTC trophy the  alert ring tones are merely chimes and can hardly wake me up if any APP/Server goes down in DataCenter.
Is there any option available on Trophy to add ringtones for Alerts or use other ringtones already on the phone as TXT message alert?
This issue is a deal breaker for me. and any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi ifi71:
It sounds like text messaging is an important feature to you, and you need it to be loud. If the native tones don't seem to work for you, you can download a ringtone management program from the Marketplace. There are several free ones to choose from. Once you get a better alert downloaded, just change the sound setting to ring with that new tone.
    I hope that helps.

It appears that I have provided incorrect information. The assumption that you can do this on Windows Mobile phones was incorrect. I had one in-hand and assumed that alerts could be downloaded like ringtones, but according to bc3tech , it's not possible. This is not customizable like on all other operating systems. If this is a deal breaker for you, perhaps another device would suit you best.

  • Z10 has completely died and won't restart using either of 2 batteries

I turned my z10 off and tried to restart it. It hasn't restarted in a week. i have 2 batteries. Neither is effective.  At best i get a red light when i plug it in that disappears after a few seconds and then its again completely unresponsive.  I've pulled the batteries out for extended periods of time and I've pulled the sim card. I've left it on charger for hours.  No response.
any thoughts to how I can at least get it restarted to rescue what I have on it besides my last back up with BB Link.

I am not sure you can get the data on the device back.  Take a look at the solution provided here:

  • BB Z10 on AT&T: LED Notifications

My BB Z10 on the AT&T network has historically used the LED light to notify me of emails, texts, BBMs, etc when in "Phone Calls Only" notifications mode. Recently it stopped using the LED light in Phone Calls Only mode and I cannot figure out why. After some googling, I discovered that several BB10 users have had this problem with their device from the beginning. I have owned my device for roughly 9 months and the aforementioned issue did not start until last week. Something I may have done different is switch notification profiles via the volume keys on the side, I don't normally do this and noticed the LED stopped working in "Phone Calls Only" mode after I did this. Does anyone have any idea how to get LED notifications for texts, BBMs, emails, etc to work in phone call only notifications mode? I want the phone to be silent and not-vibrate for anything but a phone call while blinking at me for new messages. I understand I can go through and customize the "Normal" notification setting to do this but I like to be able to quickly switch from "Normal" to "Phone Call Only." Just to remove all doubt, I haven't installed an unauthorized OS or side loaded anything onto the Z10. There were not changes to the OS (e.g. updates) that coincided with the start of the issue.

OK, the 1st question would be....how exactly are you switching your "Notification profile" with the volume key??? For  me, that only increases / decreases the media volume regardless where I`m within "Notification"
It is possible that something may have changed in your settings under "Phone calls only". So go to the "Notification" > "Mode: Phone calls only" and see if everything is turned "ON". If it is, then scroll down and tap on "Applications". You will see a list of "Core Applications". You`ll need to open the apps in question to see which one has its notifications turned "OFF" and turn it back "ON"

  • Z10 has no auto forwarding function for emails

Unable to do a setting to auto forward emails to other or own email addresses.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Well, I cannot seem to replicate it...I forwarded, using my Z10, a 37K email to one of my accounts and also cc'd it to two other of my accounts. All received it just fine...no truncation or any problems at all.
So, all I can think is that there's some problem with the services you are using. Maybe your SMTP outbound server is truncating. Maybe the email item is much larger. Maybe the receiving email systems are truncating.
You'd have to do several different controlled tests to try different things to see if you can figure out the pattern to it. I find no public KB articles from BlackBerry with anything about this symptom.

  • Blackberry Z10 has just died!

My Z10 phone just decided to die yesterday. I can't get it to switch on. The screen is completely blank. The only sign of life is that the red light comes on for a short period of time after I connect to my PC.
However, my PC does not pick up the phone - it's as if it is just not there. I desperately need access as my calendar is on this phone. Can anyone help, please?

It has for others I've helped... not all but many.
So, rather than a battery pull, the next time hold down the up and down volume key about 30 seconds. What happens?
Next time press the upper edge power button for 20-30 seconds... anything?
And next, press ALL three: Volume up and down, and the top edge power key about 20-30 seconds.. anything?
On each of these, do it while connected to the OEM wall outlet charger.

    Hello Clovers4Danni
If you are having issues with sound on your iPhone, check out the Acoustic-speaker/microphone/receiver and go over the troubleshooting for the speaker and receiver to isolate and resolve it. If you are unable to resolve the issue, then you may need to contact Apple for further assistance and the link is in the article to get you there.

  • Downloaded a new txt tone.  It has gone into Ringtones.  How do I get into Text Tone on my settings?

I have downloaded a new text tine.  When I syncd the iphone, it has gone into my Ringtone catagry under Sounds.  Hw do I transfer it to Text Tone?

You don't. Currently, custom SMS tones is not a feature of the iPhone. This will change when iOS 5.0 is released this fall, but for now what's on your phone are your only choices.
