My Z10 restarts randomly many times a day
Hello BB Supporters and Users, My Z10 (STL100-1) starts restarting randomly one week ago, it crashed many times a day without any noticeable reasons. It reboots even while it is idle. I have been using my phone for 9 months without any problem. I have tried to put a small piece of paper to keep my battery tightly contacts with power pins but reboots still happen. I also use autoloader to put my phone to original state, remove all removable apps (facebook ...) but reboots still happen. I have searched for solutions in forums but my phone's problem doesnot disappear. Does anyone have any suggesstion?
(1st use here) Mollie this has been happening to ME alot this past month or so---(I have yet to contact tho so I was 'enlightened' by the fact that you HAVE & have yet to get an answer!!!)
I play a game through Facebook--it crashes frequently. This is my PC version:
(HP p7-1226s, 6.00 RAM, 64bit OS)
Flash Version: 11.7.700.224/MozillaFF, BUT I've recently downloaded Waterfox & currently use this. (I guess a spinoff from FFox)
which helped me greatly, as far as crashing every few seconds!! I was very skeptical to try Waterfox but upon Forum chatter I decided to try it. YAY!!!!) I suggest that to you, Mollie--Waterfox saved me from the funny farm, seriously!! & I hope I don't get into hot 'water' by writing that!!
To the powers that BE: I am in unison with Mollie up there & NOW I am getting these pop ups near my game:
"! (inside a yield sign) Problems have been detected with your Flash Player version" with a green bar trying to show that it is 'filling'. I get msgs on the sides as well, showing the sad adobe face with a saying of general flash crash yet I DO get grey/gray screen&crashes!!. While I KNOW that the 1st warning I rec'd was
probably an ad--it/they GOT to me because I am actually having ISSUES with it, so I also wonder how far or how deep/what lengths MY Adobe flash has to do with any of these pop ups & DOES adobe warn us on the sidebars of game screens??. & here's is hoping that I can find this danged ?? & answers once I logout!!
(my apologies if I've infringed upon any1's posts or rights as this is the only place that I could find to post!!)
thank you very much!!

Firefox is crashing every time I have my MSN email account up. (Since I use it for business, that's many times per day.) It seems to coincide with hotmail's latest update where the email is checked and downloaded to the inbox automatically. Then when it asks me if I want to send the crash report to Firefox, I select yes and it tells me it had trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting I can change? I can't seem to keep my email account up for more than 10 minutes.
p.s if you're reading this Microsoft, it's still not bad enough to make me to go back to Internet Explorer!Hi,
/Users/sarahschadek/Desktop/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari
Move the Safari app from the Desktop to the Applications folder.
Restart your Mac.
That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update ...

VERY strange. I upgraded to 6 when it came out and it took me quite a few days later to figure out WHY I went from no crashes to nvidia driver crashes MANY times a day.
It was firefox 6.0.
I thought my nvidia drivers were out of date. They were one version behind so I upgraded. Crash.
I thought maybe some kernel interaction might be an issue so I compiled up the latest Linux 3.0.3 and re-installed the nvidia drivers.
Still crash. Took me a few more days to realize the only thing that changed on my system was Firefox. I usually upgrade without thinking.
I switched to Opera. Not a single crash in a week. So it is Firefox. I dug and dug and dug on google and found a remote reference to some acceleration added in 6. I disabled it. It still crashes. I have moved back to Firefox 5 and have run all day without a crash.
My computer at home runs about a dozen web sites, 2 X servers on separate consoles (one for standard browsing and all other functions and one for World of Warcraft gaming - I like to keep them separate), FTP, TeamSpeak server ver 2 & 3, NFS for terrabytes of media files, lets just say many things. Firefox 6 killed me.
What more info do you need. Sorry I pasted ver 5 Troubleshooting Info, but I need a special request before I run anything greater than 6 on this system again. I will do it if needed but I will need a reboot to prevent all these kernel/video driver crashes.
ONLY when I run Firefox 6. After some small usage (while watching xine videos or web browsing youtube, playing WoW, or who knows what) the screen FLASHES and I know a freeze is eminent. If I can get one last xterm up I can dmesg and see these messages or if I log in with my android phone via SSH. I still have control of the system just no display. I can reboot there or Alt-Sysrq Sync, Unmount, Boot to restart my system many times a day.

It is also run through a staged procedure releasing as six weeks each in Nightly -> Aurora -> Beta versions. Although some code change will occur in that process. The Releases also must also pass automated testing.
Once the Release happens then we can look for problems showing up from: the crash reporter, the input feedback, telemetry, and comments on this forum.
Problems do and always will get through but it is unlikely a problems causing Firefox not to start would go unnoticed unless it only affected a vanishingly small proportion of users (nearly 1/2 Billion total),and then it would possibly be because of specific hardware or interactions with other software.

Tells me to restart almost 15 times a day.
Please help me on this one. I am still new to the apple operating system world and am almost scared.
I have a 24inch iMac 2.4ghz Core 2 Duo with 10.5.2 installed. 1 GB of ram.
So, First of all Safari crashes like no other. At least 20 times a day, on average.
Then, I have been getting, what I call "the screen of doom" where I get this gray, transparent "screen" that covers the entire screen, comes from the top then works its way to the bottom, very quickly. Telling me to restart my computer. This happens while using almost every program on my computer now. And I have very little 3rd party apps(google earth, ect). If I am in iTunes, it makes whatever is playing start to "skip in place" and tells me to hold down the power button to restart. This happens almost as many times a day as Safari crashes. I told the guys at my local apple store and everyone there told me that they had no idea what I was talking about and he WANTS (he actually demanded it) me to do a full erase and reinstall. I have started to backup my files, but with over 100 gb of data and all I have are an abundance of black DVD's. Its taking a very long time. Iphoto doesn't seem to want to backup and keeps on saying that I only have 200 kb of photos when I have hundreds on there. It needs a good backup option. Is there anyway to backup "my keychain?" It won't let me export anything. My computer is fully updated as well. It also runs slower then a turtle! You would think for a computer that has what mine has on the inside. It would run pretty fast. NOT!
I have "verified my disk" though the disk utility, it showed some errors and fixed them. But it won't let me repair my disk.
Does anyone know why this might be happening and if a full erase and reinstall would be my only option other then the option where is saves most of your data in a specific file.
Thank you!You cannot repair a disk that is your current startup disk. To do this, you need to boot from your Mac OS X installation DVD. Hold down the option key when booting while the DVD is in your drive and choose it as your startup disk. When the installer comes up, go to the menu items and choose Disk Utility and you will be able to repair the disk from there.
As to your questions on how to back up all your files (keychains, etc), the program SuperDuper is highly recommended. http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
This will back up everything on your disk, even what you are not able to copy over manually using the finder.
Your problem seems quite strange, to restate the obvious, your machine should definitely not be crashing like that. I get system crashes maybe twice a year. I would support the suggestion of doing a clean install, after backing your system up with SuperDuper. When setting up your new clean OS X installation, you can choose to "Migrate" from another Mac or use the Migration Assistant, to migrate the files back from your SuperDuper backup. This is in fact what I did when installing Leopard went poorly for me (woe the blue screen), but this method worked perfectly and I didn't loose a single setting. -
Is it ok to charge iphone many times a day?
i always want to have a full battery, is it ok to charge the iphone many times every day(4-5 times)?
No. you should wear the battery down to 10-20%. Iphone batteries are designed to charge a limited number of times then they will no longer hold a charge. Charging so frequently will kill the battery early.

TS1398 One iPod drops WiFi many times per day. Another never does. Why?
I bought two iPod 4s for Christmas, one for my son and one for my wife. They use them around the house, and my wife's never drops the WiFi signal. My son's however drops the signal many times per day, and it asks for the Wi-Fi password each time. I can't figure out how to make his work like his mother's. How can I make his Apple experience better?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Ok so my MacBook Pro shuts itself down and restarts at least 4 times a day. Usually this happens when im away from my computer and its been idle or sleeping or whatever it does, however just 30 minutes ago this happened while i was using it and then it wouldnt restart it just kept showing the loading "apple" logo with loading bars comntinuously spinning... I had to shut it down manually and then it took an extra long time to load before finally loading to the user login page. Now generally... upon start up after this "panic" i will recieve a"Panic report" that says something aloong the lines of...

What the HECK is happening and whats causing this???? How do i fix it?That panic was not caused by third-party software. If the problem is recurrent, the possibilities are:
A stale or corrupt kernel cache
A damaged OS X installation
A fault in a peripheral device, if any
Corrupt non-volatile memory (NVRAM)
An internal hardware fault (including incompatible memory)
An obscure bug in OS X
You may already have ruled out some of these.
Rule out #1 by booting in safe mode and then rebooting as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
You can rule out #2 and #3 by reinstalling the OS and testing with non-essential peripherals disconnected and aftermarket expansion cards removed, if applicable. Sometimes a clean reinstallation (after erasing the startup volume) may solve a problem that isn't solved by reinstalling in place, without erasing.
Corrupt NVRAM, which rarely causes panics, can be ruled out by resetting it.
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications for your model. Memory that is either slower or faster than specified may be incompatible.
The Apple Hardware Test, though generally unreliable, will sometimes detect a fault. A negative test can't be depended on. Run the extended version of the test.
In the category of obscure bugs, reports suggest that FileVault may trigger kernel traps under some unknown conditions. Most, though not all, of these reports seem to involve booting from an aftermarket SSD. If those conditions apply to you, try deactivating FileVault.
Connecting more than one display is another reported trigger for OS X bugs.
In rare cases, a malformed network packet from a defective router or other network device can cause panics. Such packets could also be sent deliberately by a skillful attacker. This possibility is something to consider if you run a public server that might be the target of such an attack.
If none of the above applies, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. You may have to leave it there for several days. There isn't much point in doing this unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens often enough that it's likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise you may be told that nothing is wrong.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you know how to restore, and you have at least two independent backups.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair

IMac crashes many times a day even after reinstall and lookupd fixes. Help?
Hi,
Two days after receiving my recertified iMac G5 rev. B 2gHz from Apple, I started experiencing the frequent freezes and crashes that have plagued so many others, mainly when I was on the Web, but not always. It has happened in nearly every application on my Mac, although I should mention that I have a DSL connection and I am always connected to it via Ethernet. I removed the 3rd party RAM, tried reseating the Apple RAM in the second RAM slot, spoke to four different reps on AppleChat, reset the SMU and PRAM, repaired permissions umpteen times, emptied caches, ran the Hardware Test multiple times (everything passed), etc. Finally I broke down and reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled 10.4.3, then installed Unlookupd. Sadly, nothing has stopped the crashes. On a good day, my iMac will crash only twice. Unplugging the Ethernet cable and trying to do a Force Quit never works; I always have to press the power button and do a hard restart. On a bad day, like today, my iMac will crash five or six times. I have noticed that the more time I spend in either Mail or a Web brower--any Web browser--the more crashes I have. I have tried Safari, Firefox, Opera, and even the old Internet Explorer, and the crashes happen in all of them.
I know I'm not the only one with this problem. Has anyone tracked down a solution or fix yet? Do I need to take my iMac in to the nearest Apple repair place for inspection?
Thanks so much for any advice.
NancyNote: I eventually ended up taking it to an Apple service provider, where they replaced both the logic board and the power supply. Problem solved.

I need help with my camera it's shows a black screen. And I have restarted it many times
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Y are not alones. Sometimes the camera fails.

when I open Firefox and it asks if i want it for my default and i say yes, it tells me I must restart to install previous upgrade. Have done this many times. I have also tried to uninstall Firefox and it won't let me.
You seem to be using the latest Firefox 4.0.1 version
*Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1
Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).

Many times a day i have to disconnect the wifi then reconnect
for some obscure reason, when working, the wifi just stops...
it shows that it's connected in the bar besides the clock. but it just dont work.
the only solution is to deconnect then reconnect...
i look, read and took part in a couple of discussions in this forum, but there is no answer to the problem and people are getting more and more angry.
i dont have time for flaming, i need to get this problem fixed, (allready talked to apple a couple of time about this they did the repair permission trick didnt work)
there is some sort of conflict between SKYPE, TIMEMACHINE, ITunes and or any Adobe product. Could it be some sort of PORT problem?
Apple you need to fix this, please
y.d.I suffered with this problem for two years, I replaced my airport exteme with a time capsule, and it improved, but still cut out one or two times a day. Last week I changed my internet provider (DSL to fiberoptic) and so far so good. So I'm not sure it ever was an airport problem REALLY. but perhaps this is different.

To test if it's the memory remove the 3rd party memory and run with the original modules to see if the crashes continue or not. -
Indesign CS5 Buggy Crashes Many times per day
I manage to crash CS5 at least 10 times per day. Cut and paste from one layter to another seems to do it alot. Running on a new Core I7 machine. Very disappointed. CS4 rarely crashed. Also I wish Adobe would focus on performace of their programs. CS5 has a few marginal things over 4 but to Adobe performance never seems to matter.
RobThere are quite a few document elements I've ran into that were valid in CS3 layouts that InDesign CS5 will not copy and paste. I've not ran into any elements created in CS5 that didn't copy and paste expected.
Generally I've found it to be elements that were never meant to be text frames that have been converted to text frames via the text tool click to create frame option. It's mostly when elements that should have been type on path through that tool being created as a frame.
Also, though this forum occasionally has some venting is generally support oriented. This late into CS5 most people aren't really concerned with the relative displeasure of new users. Getting used to it is the best way and someone may come along with the link to the feature request for to vote for what you want to see. I'll sympathize that things aren't going to get better and performance is likely to continue to degrade, that much of the new stuff is designed for next generation hardware and won't perform even on great hardware now, such as live screen drawing and not making me swear with files that used to not make me swear (particularly EPS which although I know is dead is very much alive in the history of a 20+ year old art departments past files). -
