My zen 20gb is dead, any suggesti
hi, my zen wont turn on and wont charge, when its connected to the charger it gets hot. i tried the reset but nothing happens, a few times the creative screen came on then turned off, the last time when i pulled the charger out a bar code appeared across the screen then faded from left to right. now its really dead, can anyone offer a suggestion

its pretty frustrating, im happy to pay to get it fixed, creative dont seem to care. i just got an email from them saying its out of warranty and it will cost more to fix than the cost of a new player, so they recomend i go buy a new one , and that has a new year warranty ! , its a really stupid email. funny, this did happen after i upgraded my software. and they havnt even looked at it, so how do they know whats wrong. i really liked this player, the fm radio and record function, the sound was great to, well apple store, here i comeMessage Edited by riderx55 on 07-25-2006 02:3 AM

i Tunes will not let me play purchased songs from a computer that is broken, and which has a previous e-mail address. I am at my wits end, as whenever I try to play the songs I receive a message to authorise the computer I am using with my dead e-mail address. My iphone4's battery went dead and when I put it on charge it asked for itunes. I dont have my macbook at the moment and I am worried I may loose content. Any suggestions how I can get into my phone?
Copy the iTunes folder from the disk to the Mac, and the iPhone backup to the right place on the Mac (Google for "iphone backup location"). Then when you restore you can reload the last backup.

I have just bought an IMac about 2 weeks ago and a new Ipad2 today and have tried to back up my old Ipad on the Imac book Pro first then on my old Dell second after the IMac decided not to back up all of my Apps. Now the Ipad@ is a dead and wont even be recognised by either computer - even though it has just been charged. Wont respond to power button either..
Any suggestions??Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Happened to me once, about 6 months ago, and a reset got it working again.

I have an Iphone4 and i am living in SA.
Today in the morning, my Iphone4 just went dead without any warning.
It is in this dead mode even after i tried charging it.
If i connect it to itunes, i find that the itunes is unable to detect the iphone.
And to my disappointment, i believe there is no apple store in SA.
Any suggestion guys???????Try a reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time for atleast 15 seconds
- if you see the Apple logo appear rlease both buttons
If that fails try charging the iPhone while plugged into the wall adaptor and also while plugged into the computer. Try cahrging both ways for atleast 15-20 minutes. Also while its plugged into the computer check and see if the computer or iTunes will recognise that the iPhone is connected. -
P1i dead after running Update Service - any suggestions

My P1i appears completly dead after running Update Service. I've tried removing the battery, fully charging the battery etc. When i run Update Service again it just says my phone is up-to-date.
any suggestions?Unfortunately, in this case, we would only be able to suggest sending the handset for service. Usually when running the Update Service, you should get the option for EXIT but also for INSTALL when you are advised that you have the latest software. If you do not have this, the handset may need to be flashed by an engineer.

I have an ipad2 for two day in the am it would say something about disabled but then would come on in 15 minutes or so. Today it just went dead and will not do anything. Any suggestions?
Hard reset by holding down the home button and the sleep/wake lock button (BUtton on the bottom of your display, button you use to turn the screen black) hold them both down for 15 seconds till you see the apple reappear

I am a new Logic user. I attempted to download the additional data (roughly 20GB) and for two days my Macbook has been alerting me that there are five seconds left for my download. Ha. I can't quit Logic, or shutdown my computer. Any suggestions?

i've done that. still not charging. still shows the picture of the battery charging with the red line, and even after reboot, it's still there. nothing's happening, and yes, i've checked my power source. it says it's charging, but it's not. anything else i can do other than replace it???

I went to charge my phone and it didn't recognize the cord. I tried plugging it in to my computer and it didn't recognize it there either. The battery has now gone dead and I can't even complete a hard reset. Any suggestions?
At this point, you are past the 1 year hardware warranty that comes with the iPhones, and even if you had purchased AppleCare, you would be outside the 2 year coverage that comes with it. Basically you have 2 options, take your phone into an Apple Retail Store near you, and see if they can do anything for it, or pay an out of warranty pricing replacement of $199.

Daughter Lost her Iphone 5S two days ago. Initially thought it was misplaced at friends home however have searched endlessly without luck. Icloud may not have been set up previously ( Im not entirely sure) however when logged in on a computer the Find my Iphone through Icloud does not show her device so assuming it was not. Therefore cannot see it there of lock it. Any suggestions?
If you don't see it on the devices list in Find My iPhone, it probably wasn't enabled on her phone. Also, the phone must be turned on with a connection to the internet in order to be located even if Find My iPhone was enabled.
If Find My iPhone was enabled there is no way to track it. All she can do is physically look for it or call her number to see if someone answers.

I know this has probably been posted before but its difficult to search for "Zen" 20gb because you get zen micros and touch everywhere. I bought my Zen 20gb player last week and today I thought I'd test the battery life because it seems very low. I only used the touch pad once at the start to put albums on the now playing, then I let it play......it lasted only 4hours, without touching the pad once, or skipping a track or anything. After paying 50 pounds for this with a suggested battery life of hours I'm pretty disappointed. Is this a fault or is there any software update for this?Anyone got any pointers?
Did you fully charge the battery after you transferred music to the player?
4 hours seems very low, but check out this page first to see if the advice helps improve the battery life, otherwise I would recommend contacting Customer Support.

Zen 20gb poorly after fall, ide
Dropped it!Very unhappy at first. PC wouldn't find it on connection. Couldn't load library etc.Re-formatted etc. and tried everything possible. It is now found by PC but won't let me transfer anything ('failed' message). I suspect this means the end, but before it goes to the MP3 graveyard I'd like to check that I have exhausted every option. Any suggestions Otherwise, is it worth getting repaired I don't know where to go for this as the Creative site only seems to mention warranty repairs. I li've in Nottingham UK. I love it and the 20gb storage is great (I only use it for music). The newer Zen players either don't have as much storage or do a lot more than I need (for more money). The problem with harddisk player is the harddisk itself which is very fragile especially if the unit is on. When the player is dropped, it would be enough to damage the disk platter. When you shake the player, do you hear any sound which should not be there ?
As for replacement harddisk, you are pretty much on your own when it comes to replacing it. Before rushing out to getting a replacement harddisk, you might want to see if you can open the unit. Firstly, I am not sure what type of harddisk they use and it could be the IDE or the ZIF interface. And I am not sure if a replacement dri've of that capacity is available for sale in the open market.
I guess you can try asking Creative support but I doubt they would provide you with any information as to dissassembly the unit. It would probably be enough to void the warranty but I would think that the warranty period is probably long gone by now.
I know the harddisk mp3 playe are great value for money but they are fragile and any slightest force against it may damage it. That is probably why Creative is moving away from harddisk players.
In the end, you might be better off with a new flash-memory player. I have the Zen 20gb myself and I understand how you feel about it. It looks ugly but it just plays music great. I really do not want to lose mine.
