My Zen Micro has a MESSED up transparent fa

Pleasse check out this thread from head fi that i made-
I really want to know whats up.
is this an improvement? it better not be, cuz its terribly disgusting.
i am returning mine, and i think creative just made a bad batch of them.
http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showt...60&page=&pp=20

yup i checked it out.
hopefully its not an improvement- that would be a totally wrong move. it distorts the players color, and it makes it look cheap, kinda like a hooker :womanwink: <--- yea, like her.
It wouldnt be an improvement, it would be a uninprovement lol
im returning it- to get another one... but first i have to see if all of them are like that now, cuz then id have to reconsider. CREATIVE ANSWER ME! I SENT THEM AN EMAIL ASKING ABOUT IT YESTERDAY!

  • Zen Micro has died and I need to fix it myse

    Hi,
I was using my Zen Micro one particular morning for a couple of hours (full battery) where everything was working perfectly. Later that afternoon I attempted to turn it on but nothing happened, not a single thing. Nothing lit up, I couldn't hear the HDD sound either. I thought at first it could be the battery, so when I got home I tried running it from the charger with and without the battery, both times nothing happened.
Under normal circumstances my first course of action would be to simply to get a replacement however I don't believe that will be possible as I voided the warranty recently by fixing the infamous jack problem. I fixed it myself because getting a replacement seems futile as all Zen Micro's continue to have the same design flaw.
Does anyone have any idea why my Zen has completely died on me?
Any chance I can I get a replacement?
Can any of you tell me how I could possibly fix it myself (I take full responsibility if anything breaks)?Message Edited by mark_s on -0-2005 2:05 AM

    5G Zen Micro, green
Hey, I had my zen micro for a long time since aug 9 and yesterday it broke down on me. Somehow I can't play anything. When I turn it on, it freezes and doesn't go to the menu. I tried using the recovery mode and clean it up but it froze again.
I don't know how i'm going to send it back to the factury to repair it. My micro was previously repaired like two weeks ago. The bad news is that sending back the my micro requires the reciet, but I have given it to them before and I was sure that they would give it back, but no. So how can I send it back without a reciet.

  • Help! my Zen MIcro has gone into recovery mode and wont get out of

My Micro suddenly just went into Recovery mode and i have tried all the options and have had no sucess with any of them has anyone else had this problem if so did you get out of it !! i need help cause the bus ride home is no fun with out it

    Ohareehoh,
If the Zen Micro is clicking at the point you are describing, then it sounds like the Hard Dri've has been damaged and you are physically hearing the clicking of the dri've. I would suggest contacting support for repair options.

  • My Zen Micro has the "hiccups"!

I so WANT to love my Micro, but it's been hard to do so. I've had to send it in for an RMA twice already....and I've only had it for 3.5 months. It's been quite frustrating.
Here's the latest episode: for some reason my unit has had these "hiccups". Picture this, a song is playing and every so often little smidgens (maybe a second or so) of other songs (usually the one that played just before the present one), and sometimes even of the same song, skip into it. I already performed disk cleanup once, as well as re-formatted the hard disk (which I don't care to do again after 3 times........the time I've invested in re-importing my music is what ticks me off the most).
Can anyone tell me what's going on with my machine? Is this an isolated case or has someone experienced this as well? It's irrelevant if the song was downloaded or was burned from a CD. It keeps happening. I honestly have no choice as far a s returning the unit, I wouldn't get all my money back. So can someone please suggest a cure?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yes i have had the same problem with my previous zen micro, my songs were slow to load and the song would stop mid way through a song. this then lead on to the player not even booting up. i tryred all the options on the recovery mode but these didnt help and eventually i had to send it back. i haven't had a similia problem with my new one but a problem has occoured and i am now in the process of sending back another one !!

  • Zen Micro has developed a serious fault after only 6 mon

I purchased my Zen Micro whilst on my honeymoon in Toronto, i li've in Manchester UK, 6 months ago and it has recently developed a critical fault.
It seems the headphone socket has somehow become faulty which in effect means i cannot listen to music without distortion. The volume jumps from optimum level to a tinny wail constantly.
I had originally felt that it was in fact an issue with my headphones but on subsequent investigation, by hooking the Zen to my stereo, discovered it is in fact my MP3 player.
The questions i am looking for an answer are :
    What do I do?
I reside in the UK but purchased the player in Canada, does this mean i do not have a valid warranty claim?
Has anyone experienced the same problem, and what was the subsequent resolution?
Can I have my unit repaired or is it lost in the abyss of faulty electrical goods?
Although this is an MP3 player it does hold sentimental value to me as i used money given to me as a wedding present to purchase it.
Thank you in advance for your help!

This is a common problem for many Zen Micro users, including myself. I have contacted customer support and I am waiting for them to respond with shipping instructions, but I only sent the e-mail yesterday, so I should be expecting the e-mail in a couple of days, so far they have been good.
What do I do? Contact customer support e-mail because they will likely send you an RMA. I reside in the UK but purchased the player in Canada, does this mean i do not have a valid warranty claim? I am not sure about this one, sorry, maybe you should ask customer support if you inform them of your problem.Has anyone experienced the same problem, and what was the subsequent resolution? Yes, still waiting to send player inCan I have my unit repaired or is it lost in the abyss of faulty electrical goods? You will likely get it replaced or repaired if you e-mail customer support

  • Zen micro connection is messed

On my Creative Zen Micro, when i plug in my headphones, i used to be able to jiggle it a little and it would work, but now i have to tape the headphones a certain way, does anyone have this problem and do you know how to fix it's

there have been many problems with headphone jacks on the micros
it is basically a connection on the main board that has come loose
if you are still under warranty you can send it in for repairs

  • My Zen Micro has Br

I was listening to my Zen Micro when the battery went low and it shut down... but it didn't shut down properly it had "CREATIVE" still on the screen i then tried to turn it off properly by using the switch but that didn't change anything - it wouldn't turn off! when i got home i tried to charge it up but nothing happened the blue light came on as usual but the screen didn't change and the charging sign in the corner didn't come up! i now can't turn it on please help!!!!

Same thing happend to my friends he just went where he bought it from and that was Best Buy and they just gave him another one. If you bought it from some where like that don't bother shipping it to Creative. Just go where you bought it from.

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS" color=#3300ff size=4>My Black 5GB Zen Micro freezes up every time i turn it on and when i take the battery out and put it back in it still stops at the (2nd) CREATIVE Screen. I've tried cleanup and reboot and all the other Recovery mode things and still no result!

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS" color=#3300ff size=4>The Problem occured while i was downloading tracks from Napster and it all of the sudden stopped downloading, so i unplugged it from my comp and retried it later. Thus the problem came about. I bought it June 28, 2005 from a site called BUYDIG and they said to try Creative.

This happened to me recently... did you try reloading the firmware? You said you tried all of the Recovery options, so I suppose you did... I don't know why that would work, but it did for me... and I had the same symptoms as you described.Message Edited by mattbg on 07-30-2005 06:9 PM

  • HELP! My zen micro has cras

My zen micro just recently crashed and there is nothing I can do to mend it. All the buttons dont work, so I can't turn it off, and when I take the battery out and put it back in, the screen says, ' rebuilding library'.When thats finished the crashed screen comes back on. If you can help, it would be appreciated.
    many thanks

You'd be better off posting in the MP3 player forum.
Look there at the rescue mode thread, to see if you can access this and run a disk cleanup. If you can't, then there's a serious problem with the player and you need to contact support.

  • Zen Micro 'Playback Error' Mess

i'm currently using the beta firmware 2.0.05 and occasionally while playing back songs, i get the message 'playback error'. although i see this message, the song does play without any apparent errors/problems. does anyone know what this error message means?

i have firmware v. .xxx..... and i get that playback error message too, so i investigated and found out it was only for one song. So i decided to just have my friend send me his version of the song and it worked. so i'm guessing its the song thats messed up even though it will work fine on wmp0 or winamp.. etc.

  • How do I find out what firmware my Zen Micro has installe

    Thank you. 97mde

Well, I did the update and I used Crucials on youtube video to see how to do it and everything worked out fine.

  • Whose Zen Micro has no proble

Well there are so many topics on this forum about people having problems with their ZM. I just wanted this to be a positi've post and show that there is ZM that work perfectly fine. Post how long you have had it and how it is.
I have had mine for 5 days and it works great. I love it.

Haha. Way to be optimistic, i feel for you. I loved mine too after 5 days. Now here I am after 6 weeks with a faulty headphone jack, and continously poor battery life. I could have li'ved with the poor battery life, but the faulty headphone jack stinks, especially since it was the same problem that occurred on my Nomad Jukebox 3 after 8 months.

  • ? about Zen Micro extended warre

My zen micro has been messing up on me for a few weeks now, and i got the RMA number and everything to send it back for repairs. However, since it is out of the three month warrenty, it will cost $__ (if you can inform me of how much it is to send it back, that would be great!) and i don't know how to pay Creative. Do i include it in an envolope in the package, or do i send it electronically (credit card) or what? Please help me

    BenGman,
That would normally be paid by credit card. Just get back in touch with Customer Support and they will be able to arrange it for you.
