Mydaq usb connection - lost immediately

Hello,
I just recieved a mydaq, and am having troubles getting it connected. The process I followed, was install the supplied software (labview, NI-Elvis, NI-mydaq drivers), and then plugged in the usb mydaq. It is found quickly, finds driver successfully, and then immediately disconnects. The blue light on the unit stays lit as long as the USB is plugged in.
After unplugging, and replugging in the unit, I hear an audible sound from windows 7 confirming a new device has been connected (same sound as when plugging in a USB drive), and within 3 seconds, another sound is heard, (same sound as when unplugging usb drive).
When I load the ELVIS application, and try to take a DMM measurement, under the Device dropdown box, it says No supported devices. But, when I plug in the myDAQ, "No Supported Devices" changes to "myDAQ1....." for a brief second. So, it looks like its being found, but loses connection immediately.
I may have a defective unit, but unsure. Does anyone have any recommendations on making the DAQ maintain a usb connection

HI,
Just  to  let  you know  of  my experience. I  had  the  same problem as you . It  kept loosing connection  and  making  a sound every time it lost  connection, very frustrating.
The  fault  was my own making . I used a USB cable  that was not  the  original and was longer  than  original.
Works fine  now

For two years we have been using our iPod with a Pioneer car stereo installed in our boat, connecting to the Pioneer's usb port. This combination has worked quite well until a few days ago, when the Pioneer no longer recognized the iPod. At the same time, however, the iPod recognized that it was connected to the Pioneer, by immediately playing music and taking a charge. When I connect the iPod to our iBook, I note the same behavior. In every other way, the iPod works as it should, such as playing into headphones.
I have tried three different connecting cables with the same result. Also, when I try to reset the iPod, I do not get the Apple logo page which I think should tell me that I have reset the iPod. I hesitate to do a full restore because I would lose the music I have on the iPod and may not be able to install music again.
    Thanks,
    Phil

It's not a USB port, it's a Lightning port so you can power your device while using the HDMI output.

  • Nokia n8 USB connection lost

when everything was working fine and smooth,
today i lost my N8's connectivity all of a sudden
it wont connect to any mode, not PC suite, mass transfer etc
all i get displayed by windows is" the USB device is malfunctioned"
i checked with different PC, different cables
uninstalled PC suite and every single piece of Nokia from my pc
    still problem persist
    any help??
PS: i got charging popup when i connect n8 by usb cable!!
*note;  removed mention of tool not available to general public.

    Hi sid88840,
In order to fix this isue, I would suggest you to perform a hard reset. First of all, back up your data using Nokia Suite (Tools > Back up). Once your data is fully backed up,  type *#7370# on the keypad.  Default lock code is 12345.
The hard reset will dellete all your personal information, that's why a back up is very important.
Alternatively, you may also check for updates on Nokia Suite (by going to Tools > Updates).
If the problem persists, I would invite you to visit your local Nokia care point to get the phone checked, If it needs a repair, it could be done there.
    Hope this helps.

  • Soundblaster ROAR Mac USB Connection Lost After Reboot

I am using the device on my Mac. I currently connect it via USB, but also ran into the problem with Bluetooth. I set up the device for sound in System Preferences and everything works correctly. However, if I reboot the computer, the Mac is not seeing the device and won't reconnect via USB. I have to go back hit the Play/Pause button to connect it again via USB.
This is obviously frustrating. Is there a way to solve this problem? My Mac is running Yosemite 10.10.2.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

    Hi jwt0001,
As with any electronic devices, especially those with built-in batteries, leaving them connected to your PC or electrical socket that is always turned is not good for your battery. Although batteries these days have special circuitry to cut power off once it has reached its full charge, such practice can diminish your battery's lifespan/charging cycle. If your Sound Blaster Roar is connected to your PC and it is occasionally switched off from time to time, this should not be a huge problem.
It is a normal behavior for Bluetooth devices to take a second or two to wake up when audio begins since it needs to re-connect to its last paired connection. I've yet to observe this when connected via USB.
Personally, I pair my Roar to my phone via Bluetooth; I usually turn on the speaker, turn on Bluetooth to connect and start playing music. It does take a couple seconds to do this each time but is not so much of a hiccup for me.
    Cheers,
    Colin-CL

  • Solve Problem with USB Connection / Read this it i...

i can not load maps on my n97 mini. the error 'usb connection lost...' show on the screen in map loader but at the first day i had no problems.
i wonder why. i look for driver, ovi suite, pc suite, usb at the pc, read in the forum and many more. but nothing solve the problem. after 2 days i use accidentally the original cable which comes with the nokia n97 mini (it is a ca-101) and all my problems are gone ! bevor i use an 'old' ca-101 cabel from my n82 and i can not upload a map but the handy is shown in the pc system with all drivers and no problems. only loading big megabytes data on the handy crashes the usb connection. with the n97 mini ca-101 cabel no problem with gigabytes. i look for another ca-101 cable from the 6220 from my wife and i have the same problems (i never used bevor this cable for a connection to any handy ! it was brand new !). it seems that 'old' ca-101 cabels do not handle big data with the n97 mini. i look on the gold spring clips in the micro usb and could see that the are a little smaller and not so high in the jack in the 'old' cables. all three cables are original from nokia and not from china ! if you are also problems look on the produkt id on the plastics. if the letters are gold you have a cable like my n97 mini cable, but if the letters are black on a silver button you have an 'old' cable.
i hope i can help another with this maniac problem
    greetings

I can verify this on win7 with latest PC suite.
I was using the cable that came with my 6500s as I didn't want to tackle the rats nest of wiring behind my pc.
This cable is a ca101 with silver writing on the plastic tab, made in China.
Using this cable, my 6620c would not complete a backup, it would just sit for hours on 2-4%.
Tested with the ca101 cable that came with the 6620c (gold writing, made in Thailand).
This time the backup completed in about 2 minutes.
Thank you so much for finding this, it has been driving me crazy!

Energy Saver is very problematic with non-Apple USB devices.  Which means when you close the lid to your machine, those devices will not necessarily appear until you next restart the computer.
Secondly, Windows XP is not secure anymore, unless you pay Microsoft a special licensing fee.  To avoid that, upgrade to at leats Windows Vista:

It occur on multiple PC.
We tired with powered USB hub, and directly connected to the PC with the same result.
I made a VI to reproduce the problem. It's attached to this message.

  • Lost USB connection when restarting computer

When the computer restarts, the two USB DAQ devices are not visible to LV or MAX.
To get these devices (USB 6210 and cDAQ 9211 with USB single chassis) to register, I need to unplug and replug them.
Is there a way to get LV to see the devices without physically breaking and making the USB connection?

    Carmen,
This is an issue that we have seen before, basically when the OS is loading, all of the hardware is detected. In some cases USB devices are detected, but the OS has not completed its driver loading process, causing a race condition. You are able to recover only when you either power cycle the USB device or unplug and plug your device.
I would read the following article that explains how to force windows to remove and redetect a USB device.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/1D120A90884C25AF862573A700602459
I would then create a batch file that runs each time the computer boots.

  • USB Connection failed or broken - power problem?!?

    Hi,
I had problems with Windows and my iPhone. First it sometimes did not find the iPhone. I checked all the drivers as described on the Apple page, but everything was OK. I deinstalled iTunes and reinstalled it: still no connect. I booted several times, too. That time the batetry was only half full.
Next day, the battery was full. I plugged it in, and it was immediately recognized. But: this time during sync the connection got lost. Although retrying often, it just did not work for syncing files.
So: I disables WLAN and set the screen brightness to the lowest value, and now everything works.
Did anyone else experience a correlation ebtween battery level / power consumption and the quality of the USB connection?!? Or am I turning nuts?
    Bye, Uli

Thanks for the tip. I did a few more tests, and it seems to be true.
Here is what I tried: connect with 80% battery, works for the USB port on the back of the case and for 1 of the front ports.
Connects with 20% battery only work for the back USB port.
So there seems to be a combination of problems with my PC. It is correlated with battery level of the iPhone, but there also seems to be some kind of software / driver problem with the front port.
Anyways, thanks for the tip -> solved from my point of view.

  • Zen V Plus and USB Connect

Hello everyone. First off... I love the look, feel, and design of the Zen V plus. I'm hoping to eventually get to compliment the actual functionality of it. It has been a long day of hurry up and wait since I sped off to Circuit City early this afternoon for the Zen V plus. I'm just DYING to test it out, but it seems there is a major stumbling block. Let me give you a step by step run down of what has gone on since I can't seem to find a solution in the other posts I've read:
I put the installation disc and successfully installed the software on it.
After installation, I connected the zen v plus to the USB port and it wasn't long before I saw the battery symbol, complete with lightning bolt to show that it was charging. I also noticed that it was "docked", and I saw the USB symbol on the screen of the mp3 player. The button lights were glowing on and off. No problems yet...
I checked to see if you could sync songs while it charged - and it didn't recognize the player.
Around the 4 hour later mark, it DID recognize the player, and allowed me to rip and sync my Maroon 5 CD. I decided to leave and let it charge fully before making any other attempts.
I come home, and the mp3 player has been charging for approximately 6.5 hours. The lights are no longer flashing, and it has appeared to shut off, which I assumed meant it was done charging.
I unplug - attempt to turn on - and nothing. It's dead. Now...it's not being recognized at all.
I'm not good with electronics really, and never pretended to be, but something tells me the USB connection is weird. My brother owns a PSP - and sometimes it doesn't want to read *his* device either. I'm wondering if perhaps it did recognize the device long enough to give me confidence that it was charging, and then lost the usb connection at some point. (It's highly doubtful that my pc went into any sort of sleep/power save mode because there is almost always someone on the computer here.)
For what it's worth, I am using WMP 0, Windows XP (service pack 2), and have tried ALL usb ports (front and back) to get some juice into this thing. The computer just won't recognize it now. I plug it in and hit the power button, and it won't show me so much as a sign of life.
    Any suggestions

I had this exact same problem. you should see a little plug on the battery when its connected to the computer, you are seeing a lightning bolt because your V Plus has an old Firmware version on it. Head to the Support->Downloads section and download the latest (..03 I think). This fixed most of the problems I was having.

  • Problem with the USB-connection after upgrade to P...

    Hello to everybody!
    After upgrading PC-suite, I can't establish a USB-connection with the phone.
    Here are the facts:
    1) My phone is the E90. Latest software installed (300.34.84)
    2) PC-Suite version 7.0.9.2 english. I also tried the greek version, same problem with it also.
    3) Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 7.0.2.1. I also installed manually a previous version of the driver (7.0.2.0), but this didn't solve the problem.
    4) I didn't have any problem with the older version of PC-suite.
    5) I don't have a problem with the cable because the data-transfer-mode works fine.
    6) Prior to any installation attempt, I always first uninstalled PC-suite and Cable-driver manually with the windows-xp uninstall program. This was not the fact, only in my first attempt, where I upgraded the pc-suite from inside the program itself.
Please help, because I can't backup and this is very important for me!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you all for your suggestions but nothing of the above worked for me.
After of hours and hours of installing and uninstalling of several versions of the pc-suite I solved the problem as following:
    1) Uninstall manually (windows - control panel - add/remove programs)Nokia-PC-Suite, Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver AND PC Connectivity Solution!
    2) Restart PC
    3) Download and install the new version of Nokia-PC-Suite.
The tricky part is that you have to uninstall the application called "PC Connectivity Solution" manually and since the title of the application dosn't include the Nokia-Name you have first to find out that this program is Nokia-related!
Once again, thanks to everybody who took the time to make suggestions and especially to cricfancy who made me aware of the fact that PC Connectivity Solution is a nokia application!
Finally, I would like to make a statement for Nokia:
People, if you are not sure about an update then keep it in beta and don't make it available to the public!!! I lost hours and hours on search and made countless installs and uninstalls to find out what was wrong. Under the line, I had made no mistakes in my update from the start and the whole problem was based on your software! This is not acceptable!

  • Getting Error ORA-03135: connection lost contact

    Hi all.
I've followed the various steps to setting up the HS connection (Oracle APEX to MS SQL SERVER 2005)
However when I attempt to "select 'x' from tabley@RemoteConn" it immediately gives me the following error:
    SQL> select 'x' from tabley@RemoteConn;
    select 'x' from tabley@RemoteConn
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02068: following severe error from RemoteConn
    ORA-03135: connection lost contact
TNSPing works fine when hitting the entry, the data source is up and correctly configured. I've been using a lan-based sql server at the office, and a pc-based "virtual sql server" from home. Both producing the same error.
    Anyone else run into this?
    Thanks!

  • Hardwired connection lost???

I am trying to sync my iPad Air (iOS 7.1.2) to iTunes 12.0.1.26 (Retina MB Pro, OSX Yosemite 10.10), but I get the message "The iPad could not be synced because the connection to iPad was lost." This is with a hard USB connection to the computer, and Wifi Sync disabled.  Anyone else had this happen?  The sync appears to run to the end, then the failure message appears.
The same thing happens with my iPhone (5S, 7.1.2). Also a hardwired connection.
Also, the capacity calculation at the bottom of the iTunes window is wildly wrong on the iPad (but not for the iPhone).
Planning to update to 8.1 today, but I want to get a good sync of both devices first.  Even though the syncs (apparently) failed, iTunes says that each device backed up successfully.  That may have to do before the update.

Unfortunately, the power supply section of the Time Capsule has likely failed.
If you have an Apple store in your area, you should take it to them to let them have a look and discuss your options.
Otherwise, contact Apple directly at http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
If you happen to have AppleCare on one of your Macs, it's possible that the Time Capsule might be covered.
If it's not....Apple won't be of any help since they do not offer repairs. You can refer to the list of Time Capsule repair shops provided by forum expert LaPastenague.

  • External hard drive constantly dropping USB connection

Last week I bought a 1 TB drive from Hitachi to use for video storage and rendering, but it seems that every 15 minutes or so, the USB connection drops itself and then immediately reconnects. This of course proves to be a problem when it happens while I'm transferring data. I've had a number of uploads fail because of this and I don't want to start editing several hours of HDV video in FCP only to have the connection constantly dropped.
    Any thoughts/suggestions?
    Thanks.

I've recently started having similar problems with my external USB devices - including a 500GB Western Digital External USB drive. But it's not just the drive. I have a USB hub plugged into the left USB port and the whole thing was switching on and off - turning off my mouse, disconnecting my USB drive and restarting my iPhone charging (and restarting iPhoto every time, of course, to download any new photos).
Initially I suspected the USB hub (which has it's own power supply) had gone bad somehow but after reading about all the problems MacBook Pro owners have been having with their USB devices I'm not so sure anymore.
Trying the right USB port now to see if it exhibits the same problems. So far it's working fine with just the drive plugged in. I'll let you know.

  • MacBook Pro Power Failure After USB Connection

I purchased my MacBook Pro not even a few weeks ago. I've used an external hard disk drive with it fine.
Today however, I connected my iPad via USB and instantly the power failed, completely cut off!
Of course I removed the USB connection immediately and attempted to power on the MacBook Pro, but to no avail, I plugged the power cable and the status indicator on the power cable blinks between green and orange in no particular pattern and the battery level indicator on the MacBook Pro does not work (it did previously).
I realise that there is likely no hope with this situation other than to get a replacement, although my partner also has a MacBook Pro (2011) and this happened to his only yesterday, luckily his powered back on fine and seems to be working. Perhaps this is a software issue?
Although I'm doubtful, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I also have a similar problem.  Even with a full battery charge, my 11 month old MBP 15" seems to randomly do an instant and complete power-off. Like your partner,  mine will seem to work fine for a few days then abruptly just fail.  I am still troubleshooting but it seems to happen more frequently when I have something connected to the USB - like my hard drive for backup.  Please share any further info / Resolution.  I am worried I may lose everything before I can get a complete backup.
