Mymedicare.gov informed me I cannot access from Firefox, only Explorer. Why?

I tried to sign in to mymedicare.gov for over 30 minutes without success. I called their phone support and was informed after they checked all my information that they no longer support Firefox, Netscape or any browser except Internet Explorer by Microsoft. Is this legal? Why will they not support Firefox? I hate using Explorer as I have more spyware, adware and virus problems when I use it.

IE should be on your system; it is required for some parts of Windows to work correctly. You can use an add-on in Firefox to access and display many IE-only sites in a Firefox tab. The add-on uses the IE engine, so be sure that your version of IE is the most current, IE8.

You have a couple of items installed that some consider malware, but are pests at least. If you use the following items, and intentionally installed them, you can leave them if you wish:

This type of pest is usually installed along with software you download from the internet; generally free programs, but not always. Carefully watch for "extra" items that will be installed and un-check or opt-out of them.

I cannot print from firefox. I can print from open office. It seems to have something to do with when frames open because in IE, I can print a whole page, but when I try to use a print button embeded in a page or frame it does not work.

In Internet Explorer, I was able to print by pushing the print button, but when opening a frame, like in mapquest, the embedded print button brings up an options window that has print frames options in it, but when hit OK in this box, a second error box comes up with a yellow exclamation point and nothing prints. Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
    To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

Cannot print from Firefox

For some time now I cannot print from Firefox. I thought it might be a glitch after an update, but have updated again since and it still does not work. If I try to print to a printer, nothing happens. If choose print and then save to PDF it seems to work, but then when I try to open the file I get an error message from Adobe saying "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.". On the other hand, I can print and save to PDF from Safari without any problem. I am using Mac OSX 10.5.8, Firefox 6.0.2.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Please do a CLEAN install:
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
Windows:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

Cannot print from Firefox. 3.6.13. Tells me it is printing but only a blank page comes out of the printer. Safari works fine, but I like Firefox. Using Mac 10.6.5 .

Try This!
1) Go to Print Preview
2) Print
3) Name: HP PSC 2100 series (depend on your printer)
4) Properties...
5) Paper size: letter
6) Change to Paper size: A6
7) OK
8) Repeat step 4 again
9) Change back again Paper size: letter
10) OK
11) Don't print, but go back to Print Preview again and see if it works

I cannot print from Firefox either all of a sudden. Maybe first thing in the AM, it will print something but then, that's it. I am running OX 10.5 too and using Firefox 3.6.8. I am ready to stop using this!! I like it but it is frustrating. I am on my mac all day for work and cannot find a solution to this Firefox problelm. Maybe Mozilla can help me. Anyone have any answers? I use a HP Laserjet 2300L.

In my view, from the issues I am seeing everywhere, HTML5 output from rapid e-learning tools such as Captivate is not ready for the kind of mobile device e-learning you want to develop.

IMovie cannot access library without location services - Why?

So this is the error message I get when trying to use iMovie for iPhone - "iMovie cannot access your photos or videos" "To enable access, open the settings app, tap General, then tap Location Services and then set the iMovie switch to 'On'." (pic - http://twitpic.com/2269ze ).The question is "Why?" What if I don't want my videos to include geo location data? Why does iMovie need location services to start a project? It doest make any sense to me. I understand that some of the themes may have features for using location data, but shouldn't that be at the users discretion?

I find this rather odd as well. I keep location services turned off for the camera so why iMovie would need to access data that isn't there is beyond me. I think it's just poor programing on Apple's part. It would be just as easy to ignore any location data if you have that turned off and you happen to pick a picture or video that has it embedded.

Cannot print from firefox using windows 7 x64 pro

I cannot print using Firefox 3.6.3. I have a canon mx340 printer and am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I can print from files, email (Outlook), IE and everything else. I downloaded newest print drivers. I reset printer in Firefox using "about:config" That fixes it temporary, but after a little bit of time it stops printing again.

I fixed this problem. I had to turn off the browser virtualization feature in Zone Alarm Extreme Security. This wiped out all of the Firefox settings, but I had bookmarks, etc. backed up. (answered by original poster)

I checked the iOS AirPrint 101 website first before I bought my brother printer model to make sure that AirPrint is available but it does not work. Of course the brother printer salesman said that my model can do ipad2 AirPrint just to sell the unit. So I made sure that it is possible first so I went to check it in iOS AirPrint website and when I saw the model in the list, I bought the brother printer immediately. Why?

You're sure that you set the printer up correctly?
Did you try restarting the printer and the iPad?
Have you looked for a firmware update for the printer on the Brother website?
Does the printer work with your computer - assuming that you have a computer that is?

Cannot print from Firefox any version to adobe pdf. Have adobe acrobat plugins 11.0.3.37 and 9.5.5.316

I cannot print any Firefox page to an adobe printer, that is, to create a pdf, even if my computer has an "adobe printer" installed and the adobe plugins are updated.
However, there is no problem if I use the "pdf it!" add-on.
Also if Firefox is already exhibiting a pdf page, the command "print" crashes the browser.
My Firefox is always updated and this problem exists since mid 2012.

HI, guys, thanks for your help, but I will try to be more precise.
1. When I started this thread, I meant that yes I could read pdf's in firefox. I could not print ANY firefox (html) page to my adobe printer. When I command the page to be printed to adobe, I see a small window that shows the pdf being assembled, but it stops in the middle, stays locked, and firefox has to be manually crashed so that I keep working.
If, instead of commanding a print to adobe, I use the pdfit! add-on, it creates a pdf in any directory I choose, without problems. But I think I should not depend on the pdfit! because I've always used the firefox until mid 2012 (I can't remember which release)
2. The same thing happens when Firefox is already exhibiting a pdf and I simply command File-Print. I must crash Firefox in order to keep working.
3. When, upon your suggestion, I disabled both adobe add-ons, then when I click a link to open a pdf, I don't get an open choice, just save or cancel. It's a new ball game, besides not solving the original problem.
4. By the way, the preference pdfjs.disabled in about:config is False.

I'm on Linux and can't test with the other browsers that you mentioned.
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (200 KB) and do not click Preview after you have attached the image.

I cannot print from Firefox, keep getting "an unknown error occurred while printing."

Whenever I attempt to print something from Firefox (email, receipt, and so on), printing fails and I get the message "an unknown error occurred while printing." Printing from Internet Explorer works without any problem.

I came across the same problem today, also using a 2600N. Window updated the drivers through a Windows update yesterday, so I suspect that's what caused the problem since it was working fine before.
I tried the reset in about:config and that didn't do jack, but I was able to solve it by removing the printer with device manager and then disconnecting it from my PC, plugging it back in, and letting Windows reconfigure it automatically. It works now.
