Myriad Pro simply not available

Hello. I am using Flash on a Mac at home. I have an identical Mac at work. The Myriad pro family is not available for me to use at home. But it is available at work. I have made sure that the location of the font family is the same on both computers. Font Book shows no problems. Myriad Pro is available to all my other Adobe apps on both computers. I have used Myriad Pro for years on both. Now it does not initialize in Flash at home.
My Flash CS6 version is up-to-date. I have trashed my Flash Prefs and made sure there are no duplicates of the font. Myriad Pro simply doesn't appear in my Flash font menu at home.
I am referring to Myriad Pro, not Myriad Web Pro.
My clients like to use Myriad Pro. I need to have Myriad Pro.
I really hope someone can help me.

The basic problem is that you have a font conflict of one sort or another on this computer. Flash is somewhat more particular about the fonts that it will recognize than most other applications. Part of this is based in its ability to "embed" fonts. If the font works everywhere but Flash then the usual suspect is your font cache.
The simple solution is to use a cache cleaner. Font Finagler is my preferred application. http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14470/font-finagler There are many, many, others.

Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 not available for use in iMovie 08

I have a Logitech Quickcam pro 9000 which works great in ichat, and skype. I can record with it using Quicktime (although the framerate really is slow) but for some reason the camera is not available in the pick list when I click on the camera icon in imovie 08. Is this a bug? Should imovie 08 be able to detect my camera?

After Effects CS6 and Premiere Pro CS6 require a 64-bit operating system and processor to be installed and run.
If you subscribe to Creative Cloud but use a 32-bit computer system, you will not be able to download and install Premiere Pro CS6 or After Effects CS6.
This issue primarily affects users on the Windows operating system, since all supported versions of the Mac OSX operating system are able to run 64-bit applications.

Who's says that Microsoft can't debug?
I used msconfig, first disabling startup items, -same result.
Enabled all startup items, disabled all non-microsoft services - AE worked!
I re-enabled each service in turn until AE crashed.
The fault was related to an item for a video streaming device I have in my house. It was Monsoon-multimedia's Vulkano Service. Sometimes under the old name of Hava, this is an app that acts like a sling-box to send my Cable TV to my screen. It does load a couple of virtual devices in device manager, and uses a proprietary codec.
I uninstalled the vulkano streamer application and rebooted the external Vulkano device. I reinstalled the Vulkano and verified it connected to the device and could stream. Once it did, I tried AE again and IT WORKED!
I wonder if simply rebooting the Vulkano would have fixed it. Its like opening the garage door to turn on the refridgerator.

QT Pro Features not available

I upgraded to QT Pro. I followed the directions exactly and double checked when Apple Support gave me some input. To no avail. The Pro features remain unavailable (grey not black).
Any ideas???
PowerBook Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I have a .mov file that is an MEPG1 muxed. Not sure what that means. I want to use the edit features but they are gray.
Muxed means the audio and video data have been combined into a single data stream/track. Since QT is a "frame-to-frame" based application, it will not properly edit this format and the associated edit features, therefore, cannot be accessed. Use an MPEG based application like the Windows version of MPEG Streamclip for your edits.

Macbook Pro "Battery not available" + kernel_task cpu usage

Hi everyone,
I have done some searching around and I see that both of these problems are reasonably common, but I don't see much discussion of them happening together.
First up, a description: My early 2011 15" mbp (240gb vertex 3 ssd and 750gb hdd in optibay, running OSX 10.7.3) became sluggish a week or so ago. I noticed unusually high cpu use by several tasks in activity monitor (usually kernel_task but also finder, itunes and others). Usually when I am epeiencing this problem I also notice that the battery icon has changed to a cross and reports "no batteries available". If I unplug the power, the machine instantly powers off and will not power back on without the power supply connected, at which point the white lights on the front of the machine flash for a few seconds before the machine boots as normal. Pressing the battery meter on the side causes all LEDs to flash. Interestingly, if I power on with the power supply connected, but then unplug it as the machine boots, the machine continues to run (although the system still fails to detect a battery). This leads me to believe that the battery itself is sound. Sometimes these problems happen independantly of each other. For example, I have noticed the resource use is high even in the brief periods where the battery is detected.
Now the twist: if I boot into Windows 7 the battery is detected as normal. If I then reboot into OSX everything works normally for a random amount of time before the problem reoccurs.
Things I have tried:
Clearing various cache's
Resetting the SMC (power button hold method is what I tried, though I got no feedback from the machine itself that anything had happened and I am unsure if this is the correct method for my model).
removing all login items for my user account
deleting finder preferences
removing all non-apple startup kexts
So what do people think? Broken SMC? If it did turn out to be this issue, is this a relatively easy fix? Will they replace the whole machine? I have 3 years of apple care, but this is my main work machine and I can't do without it for more than a couple of days. Also my nearest apple store is a train ride away.

Since you have tried the SMC reset, I suggest that you make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar. The evaluation will be free regardless of warranty status.

...because the SMC update is not required for the 17" or the new 15" MBPs - the update was already applied at the factory.

Quicktime Pro - download not available yet?

I bought QT pro today and all I got was "processing order" email. I have the key but nothing to download. When I click on my account I don't get a download option. Does it take this long to get an online application?

There is no download. You simply key the free QT 7 player already on your Leopard operating system with the registration key and the name under which you purchased the key as depicted in your email. When done proper, the "Pro" features will be turned on.

Premiere Pro CC not available despite updating to Yosemite

Final Cut Pro 7 not available yet in stores in New York City

If the past is any indicator, physical Apple Stores tend to have FCS in-stock about 4 business days after the announcement. When FCS upgrades were announced the Sun prior to NAB, most of the NYC-area Apple Stores tended to have boxes in stock that Thursday.
Of course, a BIG hassle was many stores only having the full retail (non-upgrade) box in stock. I was lucky last time (2 years ago) to be able to pick up the FCS2 upgrade at the Roosevelt Field Mall Apple Store (of all places), after the (24-hour) 5th Ave store only had the retail boxes.
In other words, as already advised, call before you head out...

How do I get the Myriad Pro Font - there are a large amount not available? Please help...

Myriad Pro and Myriad Pro Condensed are available on Typekit for CC subscribers, at no extra cost.
If you have CS6 or earlier, some fonts from the Myriad family (not necessarily the ones you need) were usually included with the program.
Failing all this, you'll have to buy the fonts from Adobe Buy, download fonts | Adobe Type

Myriad Pro font with Dreamweaver 8

Im making a web site, all the text are in myriad pro font...It looks realy nice in web browser on mac, but not on widows machines because there is no font like myriad pro, and for default it uses arial font.
Is any chance to join html with myriad font...I tried with css but no luck, my css was generated autamaticly in html code as you can see here:

No font is ever visible on any machine unless it has been installed on that machine, and Myriad Pro does not come with Windows. So unless someone has bought Myriad Pro or bought Adobe apps that come with it, they cannot display it. You need to turn your text into a graphic or pdf for everyone to see that font. The best place to ask about how to do things with Dreamweaver is probably the Adobe forums:

Unfortunately, but you cannot do much
The point is that this is a Conexant sound driver issue. This options or setting is simply not available in Conexant sound driver and therefore the Stereo Mix port is not available and cannot be used.
I think only an sound driver update can helps so lets wait for a update.

Printer options not available to networked computers

Hello. Here at the office we have a network with a mix or PCs and Macs. We have an Epson Stylus Photo 1280 printer and an Epson Stylus C63. They are connected to my iMac running Mac OS X 10.4.10 and shared with the other Macs. I can access all the printer features, including "Print Settings" where you choose the print quality and the option to print only using black ink. All the other computers can't access this Print Settings, the option is simply not available for them in the print menu. So everyone has to print in color, and they can't choose better quality printing.
I tried connecting the printer to another Mac, and the same thing happened. The computer with the printer connected directly via USB is able to choose the different print settings but the ones connected via network cannot.
Is there anything I should check in the Sharing preferences, should I reinstall drivers in the networked Macs, or do anything special?

To get the same settings appearing on the client Mac's that appear on the Mac sharing the printer, the same version of driver needs to be installed on all Mac's.
Usually the sharing of an Intel (Universal Binary) driver to a PPC Mac wouldn't be a problem, as the driver has been written to run on both platforms. However, I believe from information provided by Matt Broughton previously, that the Epson UB drivers only work for Intels.
I believe your comment about using Rosetta may be a workaround, but I don't know how you can force the Intel to share the driver using it. I don't think that setting the Printer Setup Utility to open using Rosetta will do it, as it is the Print Dialog Extensions (PDEs) that make the options appear, but it may be worth trying...

Myriad Pro accidently no more available in Flash

Hello,
I am using the Myriad Pro font for years. Now it is accidently not more available in Flash. I worked on a customer project and accidently the Myriad Pro font isn't shown any more in any FLA file. To test it I created a new FLA file, but even there the Myriad Pro isn't shown (I can choose it from the menu, but no letters are shown).
Also reinstalling the font in Windows is no solution. In any other programs like Flash CS 3 Extended etc. I can still use the font and it works fine.
Can somebody help me or has got the same problem?
