MyRIO USB file path
I am creating data acquisition VI's for myRIO that save to a USB thumb drive connected directly to myRIO. However, for whatever strange reason sometimes myRIO changes the USB drive designation from say (U:/ to V:/) and recently from V:/ to W:/ . I am wondering what would cause myRIO to behave this way so I can avoid this happening in the future.
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.
Assuming you are using the myRIO-1900 then yes, the one assigning drive letters is the myRIO and the way it performs this operation is the same described above (see manual, page 13).
The difference lies in the OS that is running on the device (RT Linux). The process that is mounting things automatically is pretty nested inside all of the other processes on the device. It's called mdev. Looking on the system folders, check the following locations: /etc/mdev.conf (configuration file), plus, /etc/mdev/automount.sh and /etc/mdev/usb.sh (these files contain rules for mounting devices)
That being said, you can modify the contents of these files to force static drive letters. Unfortunately modifying the default behavior is something we cannot help you with (not recommended), but looking at the bright side, you can back up the files and play around with the options, plus, there is plenty of documentation out there to figure things out.
I hope this helps

Myrio file path/data logging
The following code shown below is for a humidity sensor attached to a myrio.
I was wondering how could I save this data onboard the myrio, as a text document, saving the y axis with a time stamp. I know I can invoke a node from the front panel of the chart, using a "to excel", but that alone will not let me control the file directory of the path.
As you can seen i've done some experimenting with the file path of the rio, but still don't have it quite down. If anyone can help me out thanks!
Jakes.

Humidity.vi 84 KBHi Jakes,
You don't need to write to text file using the chart. You can write to text file in myRIO similar to how you normally perform write a text file operation to the computer.
You need to convert the result data (from the output terminal of the Multiple function) to string format before writing to the text file.
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-3052
If you want to include the time stamp into the text file, you can use Get Date/Time in Seconds function and convert to string before concatenate with the data (in string).
I don't think that your chart even has any time stamp data on the x-axis, although the x-axis is labelled as time.

How to reference Macintosh HD in file path
How do I reference the Macintosh HD in a file path, in case it is renamed?
I tried:
myFile = File ('Macintosh HD/myTxt.txt');
But nothing happens, when I write to the file.Jong, I tried that script on a mac with a single partitioned drive (one side as boot) with about a half dozen external drives/servers mounted. Every other drives mount point should be in '/Volumes/' as suggested… Im at home now on my little iMac this is what I see if I put USB's of the same name in… then go check in terminal…

Search c:\ drive and return file path for winword.exe and save as variable
Hi all, here is what I'm trying to do;
1. Search C:\ drive for winword.exe
2. take the file path and save it as a variable.
3. Then based on the path value, use the switch statement to run "some command"
Essentially I'm trying to find what the file path for winword.exe is, then run a command to modify the registry. I already have the script that will modify the registry like I want but the problem it, the path is hard coded in the script, I want to
now look for all versions of word and set the right file path so I can make the right registry changes. This should get you started:

What is a Logical and Physical file path in sap?
what is a Logical and Physical file path in sap?
Hi,
Physical file is what you see from the OS level.
Logical file is what ABAP code can call certain functions to read/write.
Transaction FILE would link them together. Typically the logical path ends with "<FILENAME>", and the logical file refers to the logical path.
To extract the physical path from the logical path name

Inserting file path/filename
Hi, all out there,
I've just strated using Pages '08, and exploring it. But Pages Help and User Guide do not tell me how to insert the file path or filename in the footer, so that it's automatically updated whenever changed. It's not in the Insert menu, and cannot find it in Insert > Function.Hi Peggy,
Though that feature is useful isn't found in 10.4.10. The Devon Technologies WordService ReadMe file has the following:
Insert:
Contents Of Path
Inserts files and folders of the selected path (tilde is expanded)
and of all its subdirectories (e.g. select the path '~/' and this function
will insert all contents of your home directory)
Short Date Cmd-'{'
Inserts the current date (no text selection necessary)
Long Date Cmd-'}'
Inserts the current date (no text selection necessary)
Short Date & Time Cmd-'_'
Insert the current date & time (no text selection necessary) Long Date & Time Cmd-'%'
Insert the current date & time (no text selection necessary) Time
Insert the current time (no text selection necessary)
Maybe that's what you're seeing in your services menu perhaps.
Sincerely,

How to get a list of file paths for all files used in a project
I have a project in Premiere Pro CC which has a large number of bins. A sequence in one of these bins uses files from other bins. I am trying to find the locations of all each of the files used in the project.
1) Obviously I can select each clip in the timeline and show in finder, but there a lot of clips
2) The video usage associated with each file in the project would help. However
1. I haven't found a way to display only clips that have video useage if all of the bins have not been expanded.
2. Video usage shows usage for all sequences, so one would have to manually check the pull down for each file to see if it is used in the sequence in question.
3) I tried exporting the project to final cut pro xml. The path url gives me the information that I need. For some reason, however, when I do the export only one clip's information is there, not the information for all of the other clips in the project.
4) I tired an export for speedgrade and all of the file names are there. However the paths are not.
Basically I want to find all of the files in the project and relocate them to a specific folder for that project. There's got to be a way to do this but I'm not seeing it ....Thanks for the suggestion concerning the file path. And certainly it would have been nice to have done this before beginning. However this is a project that has been around for quite a while, and the files have been moved into different bins. And now the project sequence is being revised.
So the problem is, worded slightly differently, how can I search all of the bins for the files that are used just by this sequence, ignoring the files which are used by other sequences? Or, how can I get a list of the file paths of the files that are used in the sequence? -

SergioYou need to configure your config directory before you deploy. If you never configured v2 listener before then create a new folder like "c:\apex\config". Then use
java -jar apex.war configdir c:\apex\config
Then do your configuration as required and then deploy again. -
How to get the file path in adf application
hii all,
i have a txt file that i am using in my adf application,
i am passing this txt file through a File Reader, for which i have to mention the file path.
The file is in web-content and when i am hard coding the complete file path i.e C:/JDeveloper/myApp/ViewController/public_html/log.txt
the application is working fine when run on integrated weblogic server.
My requirement is to access this file without giving the static file path, as in case i have to use this application on any other machine..
for that how to mention the file path-
i tried using FacesContext to get the context path :-
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestContextPath();
which gives me
\myApp-ViewController-context-root
after appending public_html\log.txt
I am using the following path to access the file :-
\myApp-ViewController-context-root\public_html\log.txt
again i am getting the java.io.FileNotFoundException
Does anyone know how to use file from inside the web-content without giving the complete path..???
ThanksHi,
If you put your file under public_html folder, you can use this code to access the file:
For example file is : log.txt
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRealPath('/log.txt').toString().trim();
Thanks.

Error message: "Can't open file "[File path, file name].key"
If I attempt to open any Keynote files, I now get this error message.
"Can't open file "[File path: file name].key"
To clarify, the text in the square brackets above would be the file path and then the file name.
The file then will appear on the screen, but is unresponsive to any clicks or menu commands.
The files will open successfully on other Macs, so they aren't corrupt.
Also - I've just checked, and opening Keynote and trying to create a new presentation leads to the same problem: All screen menus / buttons are dead - all I can do is drag the window around the screen.
I've tried to reinstall Keynote, but this hasn't resolved the problem.
Is there some corrupt preference file (or similar) that I need to get rid of? Is there an easy way to do a complete uninstall of Keynote so I can try another install? Or is this a symptom of something else?
All ideas gratefully appreciated!
Message was edited by: Brendan DonlonAll the issues I describe in my questions around this time re: Keynote were actually symptoms of a soon-to-die laptop. The Hard Disc was corrupting, and Keynote was the first application to be affected.

How to Print File Path and File Name at the bottom of the Report?
Hi guys,
I have situation where i have to display my file path where i save my file. For example: U:\Reports\Monthly_Reports\Compay_xyz.jsp
also, after the file path line if its possible i would like to display the date where the last modification done on the file.
I read one of the post and some one suggested that use srw.get_report_name() but since i am a new to Reporting i am not sure how to use it.
Can anyone describe me little bit in detail please?
Thank You.Hi,
Your logic seems to be fine and you should put it in the additional plsql code section "After displaying the page". But you may have to check you syntax by compiling it. You cannot use "LINEFEED". It should be '<br>'. This is the line break in html. Please check your type declaration. Also some ';' is missing after some statements.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,

File Path and Name field does not display correct path
We are using Crystal 2008 along with VS 2005. We embed the special "File Path and Name" field inside our report and it displays the correct path when viewed inside Crystal reports:
C:\Program Files\reports\Chart.rpt
When run through the web and viewed in the DHTML viewer, the file name and path appear as follows:
C:\Windows\TEMP\Chart {02152A43-3339-4C03-A50A-E281E1D391AF}.rpt
How can this be corrected?
Thanks in advance for any assistance. This is a known issue tracked under ADAPT0000962216. At this time I do not know when this will be resolved, however Service Pack 2 for CR 2008 is targeted to be released by September and this may contain the fix.
