MySAP Skills

Sorry folks. This is an offbeat question. Appreciate if you could still spare a few moments to answer it. The phrase "mySAP" is normally prefixed to SAP Business suite components like PLM, CRM, SCM, SRM and ERP. What does one make out when someone says that he/she possess skills on mySAP MM, mySAP QM or mySAP SD. What comes to my mind, is that someone who has worked on MM in an mySAP ERP environment would claim to have skills on mySAP MM & so on. Does any one know what else could be an explanation for a mySAP MM skill, for example. Thanks in advance.

Dear
You r right partially, earlier the modules are SAP QM, PP, SD etc. So earlier people don't use mySAP PP etc. But now the SAP has modified its course content and is awarding the courses under mySAP PLM, mySAP SCM, mySAP APO etc. Hence now people can use mySAP for the respective modules
I hope this may answer your querry

  • Scheduling by employee skills

Summary: We are exploring options that will let us schedule planned orders by skills that the employees have.
We are on 12.0.6. We do not have MES nor PS. And we are aware that "Schedule by instance" capability is not available for labor resources.
    Detailed description:
On our factory floor, employees perform various activities such as soldering, assembling, testing and packing. Some employees can perform only one operation. Others have the skills to perform two or more operations. Say Mr. A can do Assembly, Mr. B can do Testing and Mr. C can do both.
We will like to ensure that ASCP calculates our labor capacity properly.
One option I am considering is
*) Define the skills (such as ASSEMBLY, TESTING, PACKING, SOLDERING etc.) in HR as competencies.
*) Assign the skills to the employees in HR.
*) Definer PERSON type resources such as ASSEMBLER, TESTER, PACKER, SOLDERER. For each such resource, enter the necessary skills competency needed to perform the operation.
*) For each such resource, assign the appropriate employees. Multi-skilled employees will get assigned to different resources. So in our example, Mr. C will get assigned to ASSEMBLER and TESTER resource.
*) Assign the resources to appropriate departments. Define the instances (i.e. employees) who can work in that department. Again, an employee may get assigned to more than one department.
*) Define routings with appropriate departments and resources.
However, I have some misgivings. The main concern is that ASCP may double count an employee's availability just because he is assigned to more than one resource/department. So in our case, ASCP may think that it has 2 assemblers and 2 testers.
We also need to ensure that ASCP will look at the skills of the employees. I know MES looks at it but I am afraid planning engine may not.
    Options considered and discarded
    1) Alternate resources
    2) Assigned units
Has anyone encountered such requirement? Any ideas on how to model this?
    TIA,
    Sandeep Gandhi

    RD,
I am still looking for a good way to model this. So I appreciate your help.
We do have two separate resources on the routing - one is Assembler and the other is Tester.
However, the problem is with the actual units of resources. If we define one each, we will under-represent the capacity. If we define two each, we over-represent the capacity. What we really need is to model a min of 1 and max of 2 Assemblers/Testers but a sum total of 3.
Oracle does let you capture skills at the employee level and it lets you define skills for each operation. Unfortunately, I can't figure out a way to make Oracle schedule by tying Employee skills and an operation's skill requirements.

  • Looking for intermediate skill level short course (1 - 2) days in Melbourne (Australia)

    Hi Everyone,
I am relatively new to writing SQL queries, and do not consider myself to be a natural.
Late last year I studied a Unit called 'Introduction to Database Design' at Deakin University. This unit reflected the broad ANSI standard SQL (during theoretical studies), and Oracle SQL Plus (during practical studies). I did quite well in the unit, and now
have a thorough understanding of the basic SQL concepts such as JOINs, UNIONs, etc.
This year I find myself working specifically with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, and related T-SQL syntax within my occupation. More specifically the company that I work for uses SAP Business One, and the underlying infrastructure at my work is MS SQL Server
    2008 R2.
I would like to study some more SQL formally! My boss will probably back me in attending a one / two day course that deals specifically with T-SQL.
I am ideally looking to learn some 'intermediate' skills, such as CTEs, and Pivots. However performance of the SQL Server itself (such as Load Balancing, and Tuning) does not interest me.
     I live in the
Melbourne (Australia) and would like to find a suitable course in the CBD or surrounding suburbs.
If anybody can suggest any courses / course providers that are very good at teaching in my area can you please share. Finally my budget would probably be somewhere between $600 to $1000 for the course, but if the course comes with high recommendations I might
be able to budget a little higher.
Any help and or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    David

    Hi David,
According to your description, you are going to find some T-SQL courses near to Melbourne Australia, right?
Since we are not in Australia, it's hard to give you the exact courses about T-SQL in Melbourne. However, you can learn it online. Here are some useful links about CTE and Pviots, please refer to the links below.

  • Lack of care or skills within BT

I have over that last few months had consistent issues with my broadband connection droping
So i went through the frustration of trying to get BT support to understand the issues
An engineer was sent (an engineer who fixes lines and knows nothing about IP, routing or how applications travel on IP)
He tested the line and found not issues, which is what I expected as the issue was at layer 2 and above.
Without asking the fault was closed.
I was still having issues and yet again went through the frustration of trying to get BT support to understand. This time i was asked to replace the home hub 2. This arrived by post and it was broken. I again rang support
Another engineer who did the same line tests and tried to put the broken home hub on to the line. Did not listern to me at all.
I should say at this point, I'm fully skilled in IP, routing, etc as I was a Cisco IP network designer.
This sorry tale went on and on even with second line support and attempted escalations to managers - and that’s a joke.
Yet another engineer who turned up without my knowledge, a replace home hub to home hub three, a switch of the copper pair, a re-patch on the cabinet and a re-homing on the DSLAM at the exchange, so in other words a new install and we seem to have a stable broadband.
As you would expect I asked to monitor the connection for 5 days before I would consider the problem fixed. They however closed it without confirming with me.
I have today attempted to get some sort of compensation from billing for a rubbish broadband service. They informed me as it was not a fault (WHAT) – A line dropping is not considered worthy of compensation.
I then contacted the faults team about this and after explaining my frustration at this managed to get 20 days (13 odd pounds of compensation – what a joke)
Suffice to say I’m off back to Virgin. 50 Meg and it never went wrong

  • Upgrade batch inputs from 4.6C to mySAP ERP 2005

    Hi,
we are planning to upgrade from 4.6C to mySAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0). We are using batch input/call transaction in various (interface) programs (primarily in modules SD, MM, CS/SM, FI, CO). I would be grateful for any information that helps to estimate the effort to upgrade our batch input code. In which areas/modules/transactions did you encounter problems with batch inputs? How severe were these problems (one or two fields moved to another screen, or major redesign)? How did you address these problems (change BI or convert code to use BAPI)?
    Thank you
    Thomas

    Hi thomas,
we were working on batch input's and our scenario is something like convertion of bdc's from 4.5b to ECC5. well, it was a long process of upgradation. and coming to the part of BDC's
    Q) any information that helps to estimate the effort to upgrade our batch input code.
we had 300 BDC's to convert from 4.5b to ECC5 and with a ten member team of ABAP experts it took us 30 working days to complete the process.
    Q) In which areas/modules/transactions did you encounter problems with batch inputs?
Mostly, we had problems from FI and something like in Revenue recognition process. The problems comes, when the whole transactions screens changes for the process. at this time we have to write completly a new BDC's. if we have right functional specifications and functional experts, it will be easy to convert BDC's.
    Q) How severe were these problems (one or two fields moved to another screen, or major redesign)?
As i have mentioned, out of 300 almost 25 to 50 were minor changes rest were huge changes.  a completely new BDC's. the point here is, we were updating from 4.5b to ECC5. it might not be this scenario for 4.6c to ECC5
    Q) How did you address these problems (change BI or convert code to use BAPI)?
well, this is were we are curently working now. and curently there are 4 scenarios (and may be more in the future) were we have to replace three BDC's which are used for material master creation and make it into one bapi satisfying all the conditions of BDC's. actually, we have to find a BAPI( which i couldn't find) so, i have created a bapi. and tougher part is writing exceptions as we cannot write exceptions as we do in function module.
hope this is relavent to what you have asked.
    cheers
    ajay

  • BI 7.0 integration with 4.6C versus BI 7.0 integration with mySAP ERP

    Folks -
We have 4.6C and are planning to install 7.0.
Assume additional functionality in mySAP ERP is a non-issue
Assume we are implementing standard modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, etc.) in R/3
    Questions -
1/ Are there any significant benefits to going to mySAP ERP first, and then installing 7.0
2/ Can we use the 4.6C with BI 7.0 without much of a hitch
3/ If we first install BI 7.0, and later upgrade to mySAP ERP, will there be significant adjustments to extractor functionality on the R/3 side. And any significant impact (reworks) on the BI side
Thanks very much for any details you can provide.

  • Ram for Asus P9X79 WS & i7 3030k G.Skill responds!

Many of us have had difficulty finding high density ram kits that would be compatible with our planed systems.  I have included below my correspondence with the G.Skill Tech Support Team in hopes that it will shed some light on this issue:
    Dear Sir:
Will the following Ram kits work with an Asus P9X79 WS LGA 2011 motherboard and Intel i7 3930k processor and Windows 7 Pro 64bit operating system?
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10Q-32GBZL
    DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
    Timing 10-11-10-30
    Cas Latency 10
    Voltage 1.5V
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C11Q-32GZL
    DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
    Timing 11-11-11-31
    Cas Latency 11
    Voltage 1.5V
Are there any other ram kits that you believe would be more compatible?
    What about this ram kit:?
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 64GB (8 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-17000CL11Q2-64GBZLD
    DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000)
    Timing 11-11-11-31
    Cas Latency 11
    Voltage 1.5V
I am planning on overclocking.  The computer will be used for video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6.
Will the faster ram kits, (2133 speed), provide a significant improvement?
Thank you much for any advice you can provide me with,
    Wylin
Dear Customer Those are perfect kits for your motherboard and CPU. DDR3-2133 has a greater bandwidth, but it is necessary to overclock the CPU to fully take advantage. Thank you
    GSKILL SUPPORT
    Dear Wylin Tjoelker,
Your setup can go up to 2133MHz for DDR3 memory kits. However, since your purpose is for Premiere, a full 64GB would be a priority over frequency increase to 2133MHz. In other words, it is better to not run out of memory, than render a few seconds faster.
Regarding the differences between 1866MHz and 2133MHz, we would have to say not much. On artificial benchmarks, going from 1866MHz to 2133MHz result in about 3-5% performance increase. In real world scenarios, this would translate to only a few seconds difference of rendering.
We would recommend you to look into our 64GB at 1600MHz (F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL) if you’re looking to maximize your memory capacity while saving a little bit of cash. However, if price is not a problem, then you can consider our 64GB at 2133MHz (F3-17000CL11Q2-64GBZLD).
If you are considering 32GB, then any of our 1866MHz would be a good choice. 2133MHz’s performance increase may not justify the price increase.
Please do feel free to contact us again if you have any further questions. Thank you for choosing G.Skill!
    Best Regards

    Dear Tech Support Team,
Thank you much for your very complete and helpful response!
I searched for the more affordable 64GB kit "our 64GB at 1600MHz (F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL) " but have not been able to find it.  New Egg shows it as being "Discontinued" and out of stock.  Is it going to be replaced by a new model kit of 64GB 1600 or 1866MHz ?
If not then I will go with the 32GB 1866MHz kit: F3-14900CL10Q-32GBZL
Thanks so much and all the best to you,
    Wylin Tjoelker
    Dear Wylin Tjoelker,
We asked around for you. It seems like all our F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL memory kits in stock have all been sold out, ordered by various retailers around the world, and would require some time to manufacture a fresh stock of the memory kits. At this time, we are unsure when Newegg would have a fresh stock for the F3-12800CL10Q2-64GBZL memory kit.
If you are pressed for time, then 1866Mhz 32GB memory kit would probably be the best for you right now. Otherwise, there will be a temporary delay for an unknown period of time for the 64GB 1600MHz memory kit.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and support.
    Best Regards

    Dear G.Skill Tech Support Team,
Thanks so much again for the complete and helpful information!
    You guys are Fantastic!
    All the best to you,
    Wylin
I also contacted Asus chat and asked the same questions.  They referred to their ram compatibility list that was released about the time they first started marketing their motherboard and that does not seem to have been updated to include current 32GB or 64GB kits.  They also recommended that I check the ram manufacturer's compatibility lists.  So they did not provide any info that I didn't already have.
An article on the Corsair website about memory compatability and whether one should fill just four of the motherboard's slots or fill all eight of them was also quite well written and very helpful:
    http://www.corsair.com/blog/corsair-memory-upgrade-resource-guide-2010/
One added benefit to the G.Skill Z series ram kits is that their heatsinks are short enough to fit underneath the very effective and quiet Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 cpu cooler.
    Hope the above info helps.
    All the best to you,
    Wylin Tjoelker

    Wylin,
Have a look at Planning & Building a New System where I use the 64 GB 2133 kit and take a look at the Benchmark Results pages as well.

  • Anyone around here with an apple developer program membership who lives in the us and wants to participate in entering the atari  indie developer challenge for pong? I have the great idea required, ample coding skills and a completed game design document.

If you have a membership with the apple developer community or know anyone who has and also resides within the united states, please contact.
The purpose is to partake in http://www.atari.com/pongdeveloperchallenge
The initial game design document is fully completed and the ideas expressed in it are more than strong enough to compete for the top prizes.
I'm well versed in different programming languages (c, scheme, js, assembly, python,...) as well as being a proficient sound designer and musician and a skilled graphics and animation manipulator myself. Assistance with the actual development would appreciated but is not really necessary.
Winnings and proceedings arising from participation would distributed most fairly. If you know anyone besides yourself that is able to help out, you would also be rewarded financially from an ensuing victory.

  • Pre and post-upgrade tasks in BW for Upgrading R/3 4.6c to mySAP ECC 5.0

We are currently in the process of migrating our R/3 4.6c System to mySAP ECC 5.0.
We would appreciate if anyone could provide the major and minor
Changes / impacts / measures, to be taken in BW side.
    <u><b>Questions:</b></u>
    1. What are the major impacts on the extractors, mainly delta?
    2. Do we need to activate all the datasource immaterial of its status?
    3. Steps to be taken for Unicode conversion
    4. Routines and structure change if any?
    5. Is there any change in DDIC objects?
    6. Any old methods that can be replaced by new methods? (for better performance e.g, LIS was replaced by LO)
    7. Changes in the database.
    8. Anyother issues
Any relevant document will be helpful.
    Thanks & Regards
    Chandran Ganesan

It depends on what you are taking about: functional or Technical.
Tehcnially, after the upgrade you should make sure all the PI are working fine. The other things (i.e. extract)should be able keep the same. Unless you want to take advantage of the new WAS640 functionaity.
If you plan to migrate your BW system into ECC 5.0, you might have long way to go.
Also, depends on your BW release. If it's BW 3.1 or below, you might need to upgrade by end of this year anyway.

  • What is true business proposition for SAP XI being mandatory for mySAP SRM

    Hi,
Would like to know the true business/technical propostion which makes SAP XI the mandatory middleware for mySAP SRM business scenarios
      1. Plan-Driven Procurement, and
      2. Catalog Content Mangement
Appreciate a reason beyond single vendor/TCO dope we all know...
    tnx,
    renji

    Hi Ranjan,
Solution Manager is not mandatory for SRM 7 implementation.
Only thing is Solution Manager contains best pratices for Project implementation e.g AS is process , to be process, blue print etc.
It is just a guilde. All things might not be  required for your project.
We did it without solution Manager except that we used it for generating installation key & for maintainance opt.
    Best Wishes,
    Tushar.
