Mysterious file found named iNode12369030

It's almost 5GB in size; I haven't tried opening it yet, just in case. It has no extension (i.e. mp3, mov). It's located in it's own folder called lost+found and it appeared 3 days ago. Would it be safe to delete it and if so should I do a secure delete? Thank you.

Mystery files with double extensions

I have been coming across mystery files on my Mac. For example, if I have a file named "word file.doc" I might have a second file named "word file.doc.PkE" or something like that. The file is empty, so far as I can tell. The second extension is meaningless and seems to be random. I can delete the mystery file without harm.
What is creating those files and how do I get it to stop?

That may be an attempt to send you a virus as a Word document. Delete those files. Unless you know the source of the file which comes as an attachment, there is no reason for them to exist. If they are found in your Microsoft Office folder, ignore them as they may be temporary files that office creates for autosave purposes. The only .doc files you should worry about are ones you save to your desktop or home folder or folders you create yourself.

You should have one main application class to compile this as code to swf.. So that main application path should be in your proper package structure.. then you can compile you app and as files also...

Mystery File in Trash and Locked Disks

Hi all,
Have some weirdness going on with my system. First, I have a mystery file appearing in my trash that can not be identified. It appeared about the same time as I started having problems with three of my external drives that I can not access anymore.
The file is named ␀␀␀÷␀␀.÷␀ . It says that it is an alias as type. If you try to get info, it disappears. It will not trash or secure trash. It can not be removed from the Trash folder.
At the same time I have had three external drives start malfunctioning. The files first became unaccessible, could not be copies or delete. The drives would not allow new files to be added. The drive will not unmount and indicates that the drive is engage with an application. Then, the file completely vanish from view. The disk show zero items, but the disk size still indicates the files are still on the drive.
I've use DiskWarrior and DriveGenius to try and repair one of the drives with no success. Even booting from the CD/DVD disk, the drives will not unmount.
I hope this is not some kind of virus or trojan horse.

You'll almost certainly find this file is in the Trash on a Windows volume, and you'll need to use Windows to get rid of it.

Huge mystery file?

I just noticed a huge file in my iTunes Library. It has a song title, but I know it isn't a song. It shows up as being 789:57:13 minutes? long. I have no idea what this is. Any ideas?

Actually when I went looking for this file I found 10 tracks with the same 789:57:13 time. Command +R shows 11 tracks on some of these ranging from 20kb to 4.5mb. On some of the othersit shows 512 tracks. Most of the tracks are mpeg4 audio, but there are also mp3 audio, wave audio, and a few "documents". iTunes total shows 6170 items, 346 days, 22.75GB I have ripped a lot of CD's, but the total used to say about "7 days". iTunes seems to be performing normally. I'm mainly concerned that I'm using up a lot of wasted hard drive space with these large mystery files.

dhclient.conf holds settings for dhclient, which is used to get dhcp settings for an ethernet interface.
I believe arch uses dhcpcd though, so I am not sure why you have it. Check to see if you have a dhclient binary somewhere

Sync issue...duplicate file found

Have 3 iphones on one itunes account. One phone will not sync. Says duplicate file found. How do I correct? I have tried restoring. I am not using any 3rd party software. My daughter lost her 3G. I got a 4S and gave her my 3G. My 3G was the primary on the account. I think this is the root of the problem but don't know how to correct. Should I restore her settings and set up again as a new phone?

I am having a related problem. (Mac OS 10.8.3)
My DVD-ROM Content is causing the DVD image build and DVD Master build to show "0 Objects" in the resulting disc image .iso and the physical DVD. There is not even a Video TS folder "visible".
However, the physical Video DVD will launch the DVD Player and play as expected when inserted into a computer. The DVD-ROM Content is of course not visible in the Finder as mentioned before.
I have authored a second DVD, also with DVD-ROM Content (Adobe PDF documents) and there doesn't seem to be a problem...
... I think that I have found the source of the Problem:
File names for the DVD-ROM Content must adhere to a standard naming convention.
-NO SPECIAL CHARACTERS-. (Blank spacing between words doesn't seem to cause this problem)

"Template import error: No VM configure file found" on brand new setup

Previously, I posted Console does not launch OVM 3.1.1, Win7x32 Firefox15/IE8 - Empty .jnlp file which was about VM Console not launching. Since this is a new installation, and it seemed to be a unique problem, I scratched the whole installation and started again from scratch. Everything, including the NFS file server, was re-installed from scratch CD OS installation.
The process is pretty straightforward once you're used to it, and in less than three hours I was ready again to import my first template (a template I had imported before). But now, I submit the the request, and almost immediately the process aborts. (You can see in the information below, that 1 second passes between the Import request (06:32:36) and the failure.)
Thing is, it takes about three minutes, even locally on the web server, to get an index of that large file (tar tzf), and at completion, the vm config file is listed.
Am I misreading the error? My web searches for enlightenment found only one good hit on this error, and in that case it appeared to be an "out of space" issue. In this case, though, I'm importing a 5GB tarfile into a 390GB, otherwise-empty file system, so I don't think that is the issue. The failure in ovs-agent.log is below. What other information may I provide to get to the bottom of this? (Thanks for any guidance/help, of course!)

How did you get the template to where you staged it?
I'd say the template is corrupt or you only have a partial template.
I did notice the call to the template is based on the short name of the host. Can you confirm the VM manager can access the http path via short name?

Hello. Back again with a new issue.
MDT2012. Win 7 pro/ x64.. I've got a an issue with a recently Sysprep/Captured image. It was successfully captured with no errors, but won't deploy... citing
I initially had an issue with an Unattend.xml (the dreaded "5212 Welcome wizard failed" error) and it was suggested I:
Edited Unattend.xml file and : Navigated to the SPECIALIZE step
–highlighted “”amd64_Microsoft-windows-IE-InternetExplorer_neutral”” and
edited the “”IEWelcomeMSG”” feild, and unticked “”write image value.””
This did not resolve my issue, matter of fact, it may have made things worse, but since I'm not an expert, here I am.
The image I captured has IE11 (bad idea?) and the machine is fully patched as of a week ago. My latest error is when I got BACK to UNedit the Unattend.xml file... I'm greeted with this:

The part for the disk drivers is ignore able. It applies the image to the disk perfectly it is the unatend.xml file that is missing. Also I have it set up
so if the second disk is missing that is would keep executing. You will notice this further down the line.
I have tested this on real hardware and a VM. the log that I have posted it from a VM (I typed it out by hand). The log for the real machine is basically the same except with out the disk errors (because It has two HDDs).

If the returned value is not SPACE, then no physical path has been found for the logical filename under the current operating system. In this case the path specified in the profile parameter DIR_GLOBAL will be used as physical path.
FILE_FORMAT
Returns the data format defined for the logical file name. You can use this parameter to decide in which mode to open the file. It is also required as a parameter for DOWNLOAD of files to the presentation server.
FILE_NAME
Returns the fully instantiated platform-specific file name and path.

Analyse your problem
If the function module cannot find a physical path for the current operating system (see parameter EMERGENCY_FLAG), this may have various causes:
the operating system is not defined in the customizing tables
the operating system is not assigned to a syntax group
no physical path is assigned to the logical path for the relevant syntax group
no logical path is assigned to the logical file name.

[Solved] Foreach loop that loops over all files in a folder does not consider first file found

Hello,
I have a foreach loop in SSIS (as part of Visual Studio 10 and with SQL Server 2012).
It loops over all files in a folder (ForEach File Enumerator).
I set the folder: OK
Traverse Sub folders: OK
I have set up a Variable in Variable Mappings called FileName so it shows User::FileName: OK
Index of variable is 0: OK
It almost works ok. Except that the first file it finds is never considered.
I set a breakpoint then and the first file it finds, is shown in black in the watch variable window. All subsequent files found are shown in red font. When I change the names of the files so another file is the first file found then it skips the other one
which now is the first file.
What is going on here? Why does SSIS skip the first file it finds in a foreach file loop?
Any suggestions highly appreciated.

It appears a variable value turns red when it changes between breakpoints. It started black for the first value (the first file, obtained BEFORE the execution reached the breakpoint), and then turned red. I was able to reproduce this behavior on a test environment.
However, it did not skip any files.
OP, please set up the test shown in the image below. Create a breakpoint in the sequence container for the "OnPreExecute" event.

It turns out that you cannot update or delete a Syndication Map that is currently assigned to a Port in the Repository. You must remove the map from the Port in the Repository and then you can change and/or delete them.
1) bring up the MDM Console
2) Unload the repository
3) drill into Admin ~ Port
4) Remove or change the map associated to the port
5) Load the repository
6) Then you go into Syndicator and either Update the Map or Delete it
It had nothing to do with security.

Very odd and very large file found in system library: maremoted

Hello,
Using a single 1.25 G4 with 10.3.9. It's been acting up and running out of space.
We located a file called maremoted, (which we're guessing is some kind of Remote Daemon), fil, which is upwards of 30 GB. It's run by the root user and trying to trash it causes a Kernel Panic. We took out the drive and sey it as a slave to mine and I deleted it.
The machine started up fine, but it's come back and growing. It's currently 1 GB.
Anyone have any idea what this thing is and how to get rid of it?

This is a daemon that is running as part of the Track-It! auditing software by Numara. I have it crashing on several Macs and respawning with a new PID which makes it impossible to kill the process. The only file that I have found growing in size is the log file found in /Library/Logs/Track-It!/Mac Audit. Both the maremoted.log and the maauditord.log are growing in size from the crashdumps. Possibly due to the server and the clients being out of sync version wise?
The symptom is as you describe; sluggishness and unresponsiveness while performing various tasks such as Application switching, network file transfer, and typing.
Placed a call into Numara and the two Mac experts are not in to assist. Will be calling first thing tomorrow.

Trigger email if no file found

Hi,
I have a requirement like below:
Every day interface will run between 4.00 AM to 4.30 AM. In this case file will be picked from aplication server(NFS) and processed by using proxy(FILE to PROXY communication). In this stipulated time 4.00 AM to 4.30 AM, If there is no file found in NFS path for current date and time, then I have to trigger an email saying that there is no file found.

Check if in your case you can trigger alerts from XI, if file is not present at source location and communiation channel is giving any error for it....
