Mysteriously my safari app disappeared from my Ipod Touch 3rd gen. How do I reload it? I "restored" my ipod from my Mac Book, but still no safari. Any help appreciated.
My ipod touch 3rd gen suddenly lost the safari app. I restored it from my mac book sync, but still no app. I'm wondering if when I messed around with "restrictions" through settings did something. Any help is appreciated.
Go to your Home screen on the iPod then swipe to the left so you see the white search field top of the window. Type in: Safari then tap Search.
Tap Settings / General / Restrictions. On or off?

Check the orientation lock. Open the multitask bar, swipe from left to right. Next to the ipod controls is the icon for orientation lock, tap on it to unlock your screen again.

My ipod touch 3rd gen will not update to 4.3. It says it is the current version
when i try to update my ipod touch 3rd gen to 4.3 on itunes it says "your ipod is up to date" and "this is the currnet version". But when i try to buy certain apps it says "you must have version 4.3 to download this app" what do i do? i have 4.2 and i have even clicked the "check for update" button and waited for the automatic update check but it always says its the current version even though its not! please help me!
You appear to have a second generation iPod touch, not a third, and those can't be updated past 4.2.1. Apple sold 8GB second generation models at the same time as the third generation ones.

My ipod touch 3rd Gen. displays colors are inverted. i have read a bunch of stuff about acceabilty but this one doesnt have that. so im not sure where to go from here.
Go to Settings>General>Accessibility. There should be an entry for Black on White (or it could be White on Black), For later iOS it is titled Invert Colors.

IPod Touch 3rd Gen Won't Restore
I have an ipod touch 3rd gen that I can't get to restore. The ipod won't turn on unless it's plugged in and goes straight to the apple logo, so I put it into recovery mode and try to do a restore. It extracts the software but as soon as it says preparing ipod for restore the ipods screen turns white for a brief second and it restarts itself back to the connect to itunes logo then loops the same process until itunes comes up with an error saying The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1611). I've tried several different computers and have also tried replacing the battery but still no luck. Does anybody have any other suggestions I can try?
Error 1611: This error may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Alsoattempt to restore while connected with a known-good 30-pin Dock Connector cable, computer, and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value (00 499901 064000 0) can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured proxy or security software, such as FoxyProxy, can cause error 1611. To troubleshoot third-party security software, follow these steps.

Help!!!! my ipod touch 3rd gen won't turn on. at first the problem was it kept shutting off whenever i went into an app, then i plugged it up to the computer to restore it from back up it was working then the ipod just shut off before it was restored help
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have had an iPod Touch 3rd Gen for two years pretty much and the apps have worked fine. Suddenly when I go on an app it appears to launch then just exits. I tried turning the iPod off and on again, but that made all my apps behave like that. Settings and those things work fine still. Should this suddenly happen? I dont want to lose all 204 apps.
- First try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try downloading/installing a new app
- Restore from backup
- Last, resore to factory defaults/new iPod. this is last result since you will lose app data. -

I tend to make my playlists right on my ipod. This did not happen for the last 2 years. Just started recently. Did get a new computer recently.That is because you got a new computer. You can only sync all media from one syncing computer. You can sync from any computer to iPod using the manual method but that does not sync from iPod to computer.

I have an iPod touch 3rd gen 64GB (A1318) and I wish to install apps like youtube and soundcloud from the app store. But most of the apps require iOS 6 or 7 for them to be installed into the iPod touch. So, how can update my iPod touch to iOS6 or 7. As the lasted update available is only iOS 5.1.1

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

Can't Install Apps on Ipod Touch 3rd Gen
Receantly, I have not been able to install any apps on my Ipod touch 3rd gen. I put in my ID and password and the app shows downloding and then just disappears. I've checked restrictions and also reset and backed up the Ipod. I've tried several other solutions provided by the Apple Support Com., but nothing works. Any suggestions?
Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC. Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location. -
