Mystery conflicts from events that never occured

Help! During syncs, the conflict resolver reports routinely that I have a great number of sync conflicts that must be resolved between iCal and SOHO Sync.
Confusingly, I find that the supposed conflicts are bizarre echoes of events that may (appointments I made in 1998 and must have imported when I switched calendars) or may not (untitled events from 6/16/70) (I realize that could have been from a faulty battery at some point.)
My preferences in iCal are set to delete events over 365 days old. I'm concerned that this unwanted archiving is cluttering my memory and could cause malfunction.
I've gone to SOHO notes to remove the calendars synchronizing- but am still concerned that there's a file with unwanted information that I'd like to delete- and it isn't visible on iCal!
Any clues about how to locate it?

If you have removed the events from SOHO Organizer, that action alone should remove them from the framework and halt the launch of the Conflict Manager. It only launches, by the way, when it cannot resolved what it determines are conflicting fields in matching records: conflicts exist at the field level, and not the record level, and represent differences in the records stored by different applications, devices or servers.
If the removal and subsequent synchronization alone does not resolve the issue, launch iSync, open the Preferences… dialog and press the Reset Sync History… button.
By following the instructions which appear, you will leave your sync clients registered and their data intact, but trigger a first-time slow synchronization during the next event, in which all data is pushed by each client, resolved or 'merged' if you will in the truth database, then pulled by each client. It will likely take more than just the initial event to fully distribute all of the changes throughout the framework, but you should not see the Conflict Manager intervene once this process is completed.

Best way to handle several events that may occur simultaneosly

Hi all,
I have an application vi in which I need to take care of several user generated events like menu bar selections, mouse clicks on controls (both single & double clicks) and many more.Also, all these events can occur simultaneously.Which would be the best method or architecture to handle all these events with ease?..All suggestions are welcome.
Can I use dynamic event handling for this?..If so,how can I implement it? (I went through several documents & examples for dynamic handling but none of them explained properly in this context).

Hm, can you enlighten us how a user will create these events simultaneously?
Or maybe i am a bad user as i always use either mouse OR keyboard to control an application, most often not both the same time (starting different "events" concurrently).
Beside of this discussion, Producer/Consumer is a very good starting point to address this kind of requirement, as already stated above.

Does anyone else own this crap from adobe that never works? such as a simple task of converting a file? does not happen

uninstalled firefox ....deleted all files still remaining under mozilla firefox directory in program files ... to avoid having to reprogram all my settings, reisntall all addons as well .. I did not remove anything from mozilla firefox that is stored in either appdata or under the windows users directory (if any)
... the as suggested reinstalled the latest version of the firefox browser using the link you provided in the email ..; tested and several issues still remain present and unresolved ....
so please this is urgent or I will have to jump browsers and start using chrome .. because we work 14 hours a day 6 (sometimes 7) days a week, to get ready for the launch of our newest venture and we cannot lose that much days on browser related issues ... so please instead of putting me through week long step process .. of do this .. do that .. can you please actually look into the issue from your end .. How do I delete a recurring event that was sent from an outside source?

I have a number of recurring events that were added to the calendar from an outside calendar. A calendar that I do not have access to anymore. I wish to delete the entire series. Currently when I open the event I can not edit nor delete it. If I choose cut I am forced to cut each individual occurance of the event. Is there some way to delete the series?

you can try full re-sync of the calendar:
First you need to find out which account the offending calendar belongs to (you can find it in the event details)
then go to settings/main,contacts,etc...
Tap on the proper account
Then disable the calendar linked with this account (confirm deleting it from the iPhone)
Finaly re-enable the calendar and let it sync.

During sync, msg about a conflict with an iCal event that doesn't exist

When syncing the iPhone to the MBP, I sometimes get a message that says there are conflicts with three iCal events. Two weird things about these events:
1. There's no difference between the events being shown on the iPhone and the MBP. The details of the two so-called versions are identical.
2. None of these events actually exist on my iPhone or MBP's iCal!
They look like events that I created and subsequently deleted... but somehow their ghosts are still haunting iCal somewhere -- though they don't show up in searches.
One thing they all have in common: these non-existent events are/were all recurring events.
Anyone have any ideas how I could delete these events? The only option I currently have is to choose the iPhone version or the MBP version (neither of which actually exists!).

I think the answer you need is this:
You need to tell the "Synch" which 'direction' to copy from - i.e. from .Mac to that computer or from that computer to .Mac.
If, on either computer, you click 'system preferences' ( in the dock) and then .Mac and then Advanced you will see a button to 'reset synch options' and tell the machine to send what it has to .Mac or recall what .Mac has back to the machine.

So you do have a column to sort by (I didn't mean that it had to be an inserted date,just that there had to be some column to sort by).

Why am I being billed for equipment that never worked from the get go, and that your representatives admitted never connected to the computer on your end?

In September my husband and I were planning a cross country move and we thought that having a Jet Pack to go on line with while we were traveling would be a good idea. When we ordered it we told the representative that we did not need it until the 1st of Oct. as that was when we would be leaving. It arrived on our door on Sept 9th with the instructions to be sure and activate it within 2 weeks or we would lose the line. On the 19th we called in the activation and everything appeared fine. We hit the road on the 1st and Nothing, Na-Da, Zip, Zilch .... The equipment never worked from the get go! We called Verizon from the road on the 4th of Oct. to find out what was going on and the representative told us that the problem was with the computer on Verizon's end. We shut the equipment off for the rest of our trip and called for a refund on the 13th of Oct. We spoke to a representative named Juan, who again confirmed that it was Verizon's computer that had been the problem, and we were assured that all fee's associated with the Jet Pack would be waived as the equipment never worked in the 1st place. He told us all we needed to do was return the broken equipment and that he would send us a return label. We received the return label and sent the equipment back on the 22nd of Oct. On our next bill no credits of any kind had been applied? We promptly picked up the phone and called Verizon again, on Oct 31st, to find out what was going on? This time we spoke to Lou Ann. After about an hour and a half she finally managed to remove the fee's, or so we thought, and we hung up satisfied. On 11/5 our Nov. bill arrived again with no credits of any kind. We thought maybe the billing cycle hadn't had time to catch up with our most recent conversation so we called just to verify. This time we spoke to Moncheria. She did not understand what had happened and had to reenter the same refund that Lou Ann had earlier. Again another hour and a half on the phone. Today,11/28, we received our most recent bill and again no credits of any kind??? We picked up the phone and called again. This time we explained to Christian, (the above story), and she put us on the phone with her supervisor Carson. Carson proceeded to tell us that ALL of the previous representatives we had spoken to were wrong and that since we had not returned the equipment within 14 days of receiving it that we were beyond the limits of the refund policy, (which means we would have had to return it before we left on our trip), and the best she could do was offer us coupons for the future to offset THEIR mistake! No thank you I will keep my cash in my pocket!

How to stop events that span midnight from displaying on 2 days

Somewhere around SnowLepoard iCal's default behavior changed. It used to be that If an event spanned midnight (e.g. 7p-7a) then in the Month view it would only show up on the day the event started.
Now in Lion, it produces a colored bar that spans both days with 'ends 7am' on the right hand side of the bar in the second day. In Month view this is annoying and clutters the display when you have several consecutive events that span midnight e.g. three 7p-7a events in a row.
How can I get the old behavior back without editing events as many of them are from calendar subscriptions?

I work the same kind of shift, one that spans all night. Mine show with the start time on the correct day and another one for the end time on the next day.

How can I unsubscribe from an event or edit an event that I am subscribed to in iCal?

I just added an event from the website last.fm and iCal went through this list of new tasks before it could be added, and now I am subscribed to this event. However, I wasn't looking to create a new "calendar," which is what seems to have happened, and I would like to edit the event to add it to an existing "calendar," but iCal says I cannot edit nor remove events that I am subscribe to. Does anyone know a trick or loophole to undo the subscription??

Add a note to a Calendar event that was created from Mac Mail

When I create a Calendar event by clicking on a date within a Mac Mail message (you hover over a date in an email it draws a dashed box around the date and gives an option to create a Calendar event). It creates an Event in my Calendar with the following fields: Subject, Location, Date Time and alert fields, Invitees and a link to the mail message. But - I can't seem to add a Note Field. The only work-around seems to be to manually create a new calendar entry.
Does anyone know how to modify an event created from Mac Mail to add a Note Field?

Thanks Brett for replying, but this doesn't work if the event is created by Mac Mail - which is my issue. Sure it works with any other event but not one that has been created from within Mail. If this is a bug I'm sure the Calendar people point the blame at the Mail people and vice versa but that doesn't help me. But before I submit a report to Apple I thought I would see if I might be missing something obvious.
See the attached screenshot of an event that was created by Mac Mail. There is no Add Notes field when the event is Double Clicked, Right Clicked or any other form of click.

Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
