Mystery Icon in iOS 7.0.3

Does anyone know what the icon is to the left of the bluetooth icon? I have looked all over and can't figure it out.  It appeared after updating to 7.0.3, and I've never seen it before. Only on my iPhone 5, not on my iPad.  Thank you!!

The iPhone is set to work with a TTY machine. See http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf

  • Mystery icon, KDE [solved]

    Hi,
Really stupid question, but a mystery icon has appeared in my KDE panel. Clicking it has no effect. Removing the panel and adding a new one results in the icon reappearing.
Does anyone have any idea what it might be?
Link to screenshot below, the icon is the brown box like icon next to my volume icon

  • A mysterious icon shows up in my menu bar

For the past several weeks, a mysterious icon, which looks like a crude drawing of a castle, loads in my menu bar I when I log on. It only shows up briefly while I am logging in. When I click on it, I get the spinning beach ball.
Does anyone know what this icon is? I haven't installed any new apps though I might have changed some preferences of a few (none of which have an icon that looks like a castle). I am worried that this icon could represent some malware that I have inadvertently downloaded onto my iMac.
At another Mac website, I was advised to check all the .menu files since those are the ones that load in the menu bar. Unfortunately, the find command does not search the system folder or application packages, the 2 places where I would find the .menu file responsible for the disappearing castle icon in my menu bar.
Any other suggestions?? Thanks for any advice on this peculiar issue!!

    Steven,
Thanks for solving the mystery!! Yes, it was the NetUpdate X4 icon. Unfortunately, the preference pane for it is bugged so it won't let me turn it off. I will just reinstall the application.
    Thanks again!!!

  • Mystery icon in Mailbox column headers

For no apparent reason, now when I create a new mailbox, the first column header contains a mystery icon consisting of two arrows, one pointing northwest and the other pointing southeast. When I right-click on the headers, there is no corresponding item in the pop-up menu (e.g. Attachments, To, From), so I have no clue what it is, nor can I hide it.
Mailboxes I created prior to whatever it is that changed do not have this icon. I have not changed my OS, nor the version of Mail I am using. Can anyone tell me what this icon/column is for, and how I can get rid of it??
    Thanks!

  • Anyone knows how to hide icons on ios 7.1?

Anyone knows how to hide icons on ios 7.1?

The second paragraph in that article that you referenced calls the ability to do this a "bug". I assume that Apple found the bug, and fixed it.
Here lie the instructions that turn an iOS 7 bug into either the best prank ever or a convenient solution to adding privacy to your own device.
Note the use of the word "bug" by the author of the article.

I'd say that darn stupid. The whole world can access iTunes Radio via Apple TV and the laptop, but apple had to restrict this to the US for IOS 7 for iPad & iPhone.

  • Mystery icons & Add an icon map

    Hello all.
I've run into a somewhat stupid, but nether the less frustrating, issue...
On Android, there are mystery icons all over my messages which are explained no-where.
E.g. I have trawled this forum and google to find out what the orange circle with a white exclamation mark in it means, and have found nothing.
This is not the only example however, there are numerous icons / symbols used by the app that simply have 0 explanation on this site, in the app's help, or when you long press them.
I'm 25, I've owned every phone from the 3310 through to prototype android devices, I work in the tech sector... I'd like to think I'm rasonably tech savy. Yet here I am looking at unexplained icons and I cannot find out what they mean!
First up, can someone let me know what the heck this orange circle and exclamation mark means, as it's stopping all my outgoing Skype to SMS messages (yes I have credit and signal and have updated my OS & reinstalled Skype).
Secondly, Skype make an icon map!!! It's both bad practise and just plain lazy to have unexplaned symbols in your app.
    Rant over

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
    Can you share a screenshot?
Where is that icon shown? Next to IMs or SMS messages?

  • Hi! pls say how to switch off matt interface around the icons in ios 7?

The question is in the name of the theme =)

iOS doesn't have "themes". You can make some changes to the look of iOS 7 in Settings>General>Accessibility. You can change contrast, font size and boldness. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "matt (matte?) interface around the icons". Perhaps if you could explain a little more?
    Best of luck.

  • I preferred the icons before iOS 7.0.4

The icons on the iOS 7.0.4 seem like a de-volution.
Before they had depth and 3D effect, now they are flat with cartoon colors.
Why Apple ? Why did you do that?

You can voice your displeasure with the iOS by leaving feedback at the appropriate subsection from the link below.

  • Missing Photos Icon in IOS 8

I upgraded and iPad 4 (retina) to IOS 8 and when I went to iPhoto it requested to upgrade the pictures to Photo or exit.  I upgraded to Photo and then deleted the iPhoto icon.  However, I can not find a Photo icon anywhere.  I can go to the Camera app and access Photo or I can go into a supported app and send to Photo, but there is no Photo icon to be found.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You can enter new and edit old contacts directly from the Phone app. Open Phone and then tap Contacts at the bottom of the screen. To add new tap + at top right.
I never use the Contacts App itself, but you should have one. If I remember correctly it was by default on the 2nd home screen or in a folder -- but I could be wrong because I haven't used it in years so I may have moved it somewhere in a folder on the 2nd screen to get it out of the way. If you want to use it and can't find it, another way is to open Spotlight Search by swiping down with one finger on the home screen (don't start the swipe at the very top of the screen or it will open Notifications instead of search).

  • Is there an actual icloud drive icon on ios 8 like Google Drive or Dropbox?

    Hello,
I would appreciate any help that the community can provide.
I have successfully updated ios 8 onto both my ipad mini and my iphone 5s.
I was expecting to see some sort of icon on my screen, similar to Google Drive and Dropbox, but there is nothing like that.
I understand that apps will have this baked into them, however, when looking at the Apple site and the previews, etc., it clearly shows some kind of specific folder on a mobile device where everything is stored. Again, there is nothing like this available on my mobile devices.
Separate from the apps  and documents that are supposed to seamlessly update, I'm most concerned with my photos and videos that are suppossed to be saved in icloud drive. I thought the whole idea was to be able to upload photos and videos from mobile devices so that they could be deleted from them and free up space and then, if and when I wanted to download them again, then I could do so. At least this is what I believe to be the case. Perhaps I'm missing something?
I don't have a Mac, so there are no issues with Yosemite, etc. Again, based on the actual Apple demos and all the talk, I'm looking for some kind of icloud icon or something similar on my mobile device so I can see what is going on with it and so that I can access it.
I would appreciate any suggestions to help. Thank you.

I wish I knew more to help you, but I didn't enable icloud drive, cause I know there is no way back and no benefit that I can see for me. Everything is not supported yet. The page that you seem to be seeing as a folder on ipad and iphone looks more like "settings"  for icloud on ipad and phone. Apps that are capable to use it are there and you already know that they use to sync with icloud anyway. Benefit is going to be when you can drag your work documents of different kind from your desktop on new mac OS. You may still be able to use your PC for that, but that is the only device where desirable icloud dragging can be done from desktop to drive. That is the way Apple presented drive and that is about all it does, as far as I know. Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in and help you better.
Here is what apple says that makes me think it is not icon.
Or start a new document using an iCloud-enabled app on your iOS device. Then you’ll be able to access those documents from all your devices.

  • Lost home screen icons after ios 6 upgrade

All home screen icons (except computer and setting) disappeared after upgrade to ios 6

FYI - AppleTV update was to 5.1 not 6.
Just having Computer and Settings is usually a sign that you're AppleTV doesn't have an internet connection.
Go into Settings>General>Network - does the device have an IP address, is it an address similar to other devices on you're network?

  • Delete Favorites ICONS Safari iOS 8

I know how to delete my bookmarks, but how do I delete the Favorites Icons in Safari on my iPad with iOS 8?

Ok well you need to delete the bookmarks you have saved in the FAVOURITES folder of your Bookmarks to remove the icons. If you don't wish to delete them visit the pages first, save them again in an alternative location/folder and then delete from the FAVOURITES folder of your bookmarks.
Oh and by the way, if you've got iOS 8 you're doing very well as they've only just released iOS 7 last month.

  • HT2305 What happened to the YouTube icon in iOS 6?

I just installed the new iOS 6 and then I happened to notice that the YouTube icon is missing?

What app in the App Store?  I can't find one for iPad.  Found one for my iPhone though?
Note that you're in the iPhone forum, not iPad.  But Google's YouTube app can be installed on either iPhone or iPad, though it is not yet optimized for iPad (supposedly that is coming soon from Google).

  • Settings icon with IOS 6

I recently updated my iPhone 4 to IOS 6.  I no longer can find the Settings icon on my desktop.  I can find Settings by swiping to the right to the blnak desktop and then key Settings into theSearch iPhone field.  How can I retore it to y desktop?

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto another screen or into a folder, check the Utilities folder if you have one.  Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app is still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it.  Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
