Mystery used space

hey i just joined this cuz i got an external hard drive and am working on rebuilding my library and have a few questions about things.I just got the new itunes and when i connect my ipod it tells me that i have 2 gigs of music used, but 4.7 of "other" i put the ipod into disk mode and ran podutil on it but it only shows the music that is in my library. I am hoping that that 4 gigs is my old library that got deleted. btw I have a 3rd gen ipod 20 gigs. When i look at "about" in my settings on my ipod it tells me that i have a capacity of 18.5 gb and 16.6 available which is conflicting to what itunes tells me. I have no idea what to do to get these files off my ipod. Thanks

Other can be many things, album art, notes, contacts, firmware, anything loaded in disk mode. Though by your numbers I think the iPod need to be restored. I have 45GB on my iPod will only 800MB listed for other.
Do a restore on iPOd. This will empty it of contents. You can then sync to it again.

How to get all GroupSpaces name using Spaces API, irrespective of user logged in?

Can anyone please tell me, how to retrieve list of all group spaces using Spaces API. I have used this method getGroupSpaces(null) to retrieve all group spaces, however it returns only the logged in members groups.
Is there any way to get all groupspaces details?

Is there any reason not to use spaces in document file names anymore in a document library?

We are revamping our sharepoint document library file naming conventions. In lots of blogs and tutorials, I have seen over and over the recommendation to use underscores instead of spaces in document file names in sharepoint. Part of this is I think to prevent
the infamous %20 in URLs pointing to the documents. That doesn't really concern us and we don't generally have file names that approach 256 characters. We don't want to go the route of having different document names than document titles so we want our
document names to be a clear and readable as possible. We think that using spaces (and occasionally dashes) in the file names makes them more readable, and sharepoint 2010 seems to be able to search these file name correctly. An example document file
name would be "elephants - how to clean elephant cages".
Has anyone run into a reason to avoid using spaces and dashes in document file names in sharepoint 2010? I don't want to start using spaces and then be sorry I did down the road. Thanks!

It isn't going to lead to the fall of western civilisation.
You will get longer and messier URLs for documents but it's very unlikely to cause issues. There have been some bugs in the past where hyphens in particular can be mis-encoded in searches but they only affect a small range of build numbers if memory serves.
I much prefer using no spaces for document libraries as it makes the starting URLs so much cleaner but that's a style question. For documents unless you've got a very strict document naming standard spaces are common and dashes aren't uncommon.

Used space, nothing stored in my ipod mini

I had to reset my mini, so it would show up on my computer...now when I try to update, it says there are 3 GB of used space, but nothing in my library or on the ipod. What did I do wrong?

I don't think you did anything wrong, it's just one of those odd software glitches that crop up from time to time.
Restoring the iPod to factory settings should cure it.

Why don't I see shapes (created with my iPhone 5s) in creative cloud (for iOS) and used space in CC is 0 MB? Where are they stored?

I installed Adobe Shape on my iPhone (iOS 8) and don't see, where the shapes are saved.
In CC app for iOS there are no files (and used space in CC is 0 Mb). And I don't see my shapes in your other your apps (for iOS: Ideas, Photoshop Mix).
How can I export shapes to any files storages?

The CC app for iOS does not currently show assets in CC Libraries. The app only shows assets in folders. Check out this thread for details on how to get your shapes.

Rapid and Huge growth of of used space of temporary tablespace

Hi,
Have a query (select) that run quick (no more than 10 seconds).
As soon I insert the data into a temporary table or even on physical table, the temporary table used space starts to growth very fast. The used space is totally used and the query crash since e reach the limit (65GB), or even more if I add more table files to temporary tablespace!
The problem also happen only if the period (dates) is one year (2013). If the period is the first trimestre of 2013 (same amount of data), the problem does not happen!!
I also confirm that on another instance ( a test one), even with less resources this ORACLE behavior do not happen. I confirm differente execution plan queries, between the two instances .
What I really do not understant is the behavior of the ORACLE with the huge and rapid growth!!!
Any one experiment such a similiar situation?

I run the select with sucess, no more that 1 minute from on year of data. Few temporary used space used.
As soon I plug the insert (global temporary table, also experiment with physical table) the used space of temporary table space start to grow crazy!!

Using Spaces With Logic 9?

Dear Apple,
I'd like to know if it's possible to use spaces together with Logic. I tried to grab my mixer and drag it to another space but that didn't work.
If it's not possible at all I would recommend this as a new feature in a Snow Leopard update.

You can use Spaces with Logic,either drag the Mixer tab out or open a Mixer window in Logic Pro>Window>Mixer or press ⌘ +2 ,activate spaces and drag the Mixer window where you like.

Using spaces my bluetooth keyboard F3 (spaces?) shows just one application?

I used spaces before upgrading to SL and I had it set so that when I put my mouse in one corner all of the windows shows the different spaces. There were times I would manually move the applications around in the windows I wanted. No matter what I try I'm unable to duplicate those windows. Was that capability taken away?
Also, my Apple bluetooth keyboard has what I thought was an expose/spaces key, F3. When I pressed it I was pretty sure all the windows would show similar to what I described above but I never really used this key a lot in the past. Now when I press it the application window(s) of the one I'm currently using show. I've checked in preferences and don't see a way to change this back.
Any help?

just figured this out on my own; i think i misunderstood the purpose of the F3 key and i returned my corner to the way i had it before; all good

Using Spaces with Shared Screen

I am using a shared screen to access my two other computers, and I really would love to be able to use Spaces to do this. One keystroke and I'm full screen on my other computer, how cool would that be. I just can't seem to do it. Spaces asks for the application, and to share a screen is not the application. Can anyone help?

If I understand correctly you're trying to use your own creations and add them to the existing palette available. I'm not sure why you would need to do this but if there is a way I don't know about it.
It may be something you could do if you went into the package contents of the application itself by holding Control and clicking on the application, this gives you the application folder basically. In here you will find the resources file which holds everything iMovie uses. If you can find the right place and save the right file you may be able to add it to the list of defaults.
JUST TO POINT OUT. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING IN HERE YOU RUN THE RISK OF SERIOUSLY SCREWING UP YOUR SOFTWARE AND AS SUCH I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS.
It's something I used to do in Roxio Toast when I wanted a custom DVD Menu system to those on offer. It was a lot more obvious what was needed to be done though!
The best and safest thing you could do is store your self created clips in an event, call it something like Library and then just use them as you need to by dragging them into a project.

Using Spaces

I'm trying to use spaces, and although I've set it up with apps in each window, it seems that the only way I can switch between windows is if I click on the app in the dock, then it goes to the window or if I click on the spaces icon in the top menu bar. I'm supposed to be able to switch between windows by hitting the arrow keys or number keys and although that is selected in the prefs, I can't seem to get that to work.

Finding the size of db and size of used space

Greetings all good people.
Can you please help me find out about 2 database information?
One, I want to find out the size of a database =size of physical files.
and the size of data which is the size occupied in physical files.
We are about to start a new project and there is a table on the database but it is empty.
We want to be exporting data into this table but we want to make sure that there is enough space on the db before we start populating the table with data.
I believe the code below just gives me the size of the database.

But I want to know the total size of the database and how much size has been used already, much the same as you would want to know the size capacity of a hard drive and how much of the size has been used.

HT2490 Mac OS X 10.6.8 - Finder Preview of Quicktimes using Space Bar

I work with a lot of preview Quicktimes and for some reason all the files with a 320X240 aspect ratio are previewing (using space bar) with the wrong frame size (long skinny picture). Any other files with a different frame size are displaying normal.
