Mystery VGA display and disappeared iTunes
if I look at the Display for my iMac I see a mystery VGA Display that is not attached to my iMac - I think this is where iTunes now lives as I dragged it off to the right of the iMac screen, thinking it was going to a new Spaces page (but i was already at the rightmost page) and now can't get it back except to go Full Screen. Anyone know how resolve wither issue?
By trying the Mac Mini with every monitor I could find I eventually decided it was something specific with the particular TV. I've bought a modern replacement and now all works perfectly.

Lockup Plugging in VGA Display and Ethernet Cable
Three times now I have placed the MBP on a desk, opened the lid, woke it up, plugged in an active VGA adapter, plugged in an Ethernet cable... and it locks up. The mouse stops moving and it requires holding the off button to restart it. I am not entirely certain if it is the VGA, the Ethernet, or the combination that causes the issue.
This is one of those new (June 2007) MBP 15 inch laptops. Anyone else experiencing this?
It works perfectly once it reboots.
Given I have only done that 3 times, it is currently 100% reproducible for me.

MacBook ProI have this problem too. I think it's something to do with current induction through the connected sound cable, caused by the electricity in the VGA adapter. I think it is because the two output sockets are parallel.
I work in a school where all the staff use the latest 15" MBP. The problem occurs in maybe different rooms with different sound equipment.
The buzzing goes when the output is converted to an XLR cable (to be plugged into a sound mixer) via a DI box AND this DI box has the "ground" switch selected. This does not solve the problem for a home user and does not solve my problem as once sent into a DI box, the sound signal become mono. I'd need to double up everything and split the signal before converting, and grounding it, which would mean buying 2 DI boxes for each set up. Rather expensive!
Does anyone have any suggestions? -
PowerBook G4 15" 1.5GHz LCD thinks its a VGA Display
I have a PowerBook G4 15" 1.5GHz (the later BT2.0 one) which I bought with a display that I thought was bad because it was black with a thin horizontal blue line across it with a tiny bit of color. It turns out the LCD is fine--its resolution has been set to something like 14 x 854 pixels, hence what I saw was the entire displayed imaged compressed into this line. When connected/discronnected/reconnected up to an external monitor a few times, the LCD began to display at first the resolution of the external VGA monitor (1024 x 768). Then it began to display at 1280 x 960 but the Displays pane of Sys Prefs for the LCD now said "VGA display" and no where in the liist of resolutions is the correct one for this computer (the current 1280 x 960 looks fine until you realize the Dock is about an inch below the screen. How can I get this thing to remember its the Color LCD and not the VGA display it was once hooked up to?
Both the diversity and inverter board cables had gotten chewed up in previous disassemblies and enclosure had a big dent on the side pinching AirPort antenna. Once cables and enclosure were replaced, all was well.

The iOS 7.0.6 update failed, my iPhone 5S disappeared from iTunes and now is displaying a picture iTunes logo and a USB plug and black backgraound. Turning it Off and On didn't fix it. iTunes doesn't see it. Any suggestions?

I've tried http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 and other suggestions first, which turned out unrelated.
I've finally fixed the issue by plugging the cable in the USB 3 ports in the back of PC instead of the ports in the front, the iTunes saw the phohe and the recovery started automatically.
In the hindsight, I realized that the either the required prerequisite iTunes 11.1.5.5 update installed a USB driver incompatible with my PC's front side USB ports that I always used for my iPhone syncing prior or it was always
incompatible, but worked in all modes except the recovery.

Itunes won't open...bounces and disappears. Here is crash log.
When I attempt to click on itunes, it appears on the dock, bounces, and disappears. This also occurs with the "help" application. Can anyone help? Here is the crash log, but b/c it is so large it is pasted here with only the first ever crash and the most recent.

How to connect a cinema display and a VGA monitor to mac mini
I bought a Macmini and want to connect to a cnema display and to a monitor that uses VGA connection. I also bought a MiniDisplayPort to VGA adapter but the MacMini only has ONE Minidisplay port. I thought this would be more straitforward....
I'm unsure of the issue, the Mini has both mDP and HDMI outputs, right? If so, the mDP for the Cinema Display an a HDMI to VGA adapter for the 2nd monitor.

I have tried everything I can find on line but they all claim that the plug and play works, and they don't for me. I tried the mini dvi to HDMI and a HDMI cord and that was not recognized no matter which unit I rebooted first. I found someone who said that my Macbook might be too old for the HDMI technology so I returned the cords and went to the VGA cord and adaptor.

I contacted Samsung support and they said I needed to set the display settings to external display on the mac. I went to the display settings and moved the icon to my status bar. When I click on search for displays or whatever it says (I'm not at my Mac right now) it does nothing.
What am I missing?I am using MAC OSx 10.5.8 (9L31a) as my operation system. The TV says "No signal. Check connected device's power, cable connection and source selection." Seems to me that that goes in hand with what the Samsung tech said about the Mac needing to be forces to use the external display. But how do I do that?

I have an early 2006 intel core solo Mac Mini (locted in India) and need to connect it to a VGA display. I have looked at the support articles but can't figure out what adapter to use.
There was a DVI to VGA adapter included with the early 2006 mini. The one that I have looks like this

Just unpacked Mac mini and powered up using Mac mini to VGA display adaptor and VGA monitor. There is no signal to the monitor ( power is on).

First step would be to create the necessary entries (easier to make a complete xorg.conf versus xorg.conf.d/##-whatever.conf).
All Desktop Environments / Window Managers rely on X. Man pages are helpful, possibly some headaches ahead as I fought a dual-monitor display this way.

The Problem/s
1. I am unable to sync my iPhone 4S with my Mac Book Pro, either by cable, wifi or bluetooth
2. iTunes will initiall open and briefly identifies the iPhone in the Device section in iTunes.
3. When iTunes starts to read the iPhone (displaying the spinning wheel), it immediately then quits and
4. Opens a 'dialogue box' which displays the message "iTunes Quit Unexpectedly"
5 The dialoge box offers the following button options to:-

The 'Show Details' button will open and display a list of the 'Problem Details and System Configeration'. To the average user the information is useless, as one doesn't know what to look for to solve the problem. This is a long and detailed report (too long to include in this message), which includes information such as:-

The 'Ok' button simply quits and closes the dialogue box
'Reopen'
The 'Reopen' button will again reopen iTunes, briefly showing that it is trying to read the iPhone in the Devices section, but then returns again to display the same dialogue box.
Other Information
1. iTunes will still start normally once the USB cable is removed from the Mac book Pro, but crashes again once the USB cable is reattached to the computer
Any advice or help offered would be greatly appreciated.

In my Iphone 5, Nothing on my App Store is working, its displaying blank (Except for Genius section). I've tried to uninstall and install itunes and all its component in my desktop but still it doesn't fix the app store issue. Not sure if its problem with apple servers. Someone help please!
settigns>itunes and app store to make sure you are signed in.. If you are, you will see your account name..... anyhow, click your account name, sign out and sign back in
also go to to settings>general>reset and reset network settings... if that doesnt work settings>general>reset and reset all settings!

I have used different VGA to mini port adaptors, different VGA cables and connected them to different external monitors and prjectors but the same thing happens. I am starting to think there may be a problem with the macbook itself however, when i have used a HDMI lead and adaptor to external monitors the external display is fine.

As a stockholder, I would like see the development of iTV with Retina display and integrating Siri control, internet access, and iTunes apps. This new product would be a large screen, thin wall mounted television, much like a oversided iPad.
Do you think this product is possible?In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.
