Mystery white box in theme

In the formal theme for a blog template a white box appears top right behind the navigation bar. How do I get rid of it. We can't select it nor edit it. When we extend the navigation box the white box travels with it . The white prevents the reader seeing the text .

I have a test blog using the Formal theme and don't have anything behind the navbar. There's a white line just beneath it.
What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?

  • Mysterious white box appears when project published

    Hi all
Another issue. When either either hit F4 to preview a project, or publish it to an .exe, a mysterious white box appears across a few of the slides.
I've hunted for the cause of this box everywhere. It doesn't appear when I preview the same slides using F3. There are no objects in the timelines of those slides that would explain it.
How do I get rid of this box appearing? It makes me want to remove this program from my computer altogether.

    Hi Clifford
The path looks right. On my PC, with Desktop and Admin, my path settings for Discoverer look like this:
    %DISCO10%\bin; (171 files and 0 folders)
    %DISCO10%\jlib; (53 files and 1 folder)
    %DISCO10%\jre\1.4.2\bin\client; (2 files)
    %DISCO10%\jre\1.4.2\bin; (62 files and 1 folder)
    where %DISCO10% is c:\oracle\BIToolsHome_1
I can't see anything wrong with the path. This is very mystifying. I think you may have to speak with Oracle Support. Other than the Discoverer installation being corrupt with one or more files missing I can't think why you would be seeing a white console box. I'll keep researching and if I come upon anything I will let you know. To help I have listed alongside each of my locations the number of files and fodlers I have. If yours is different there is a possibility of a corruption.
    Best wishes

  • White boxes around images

Hi, I know this is a basic question but it's causing me a lot
    of grief.
When I place images on coloured backgrounds, they have white
    boxes
around them. Is the only way to get around this to manipulate
    the
image itself in photoshop? I've tried this but it still
    doesn't look
right - there are jagged edges. Or I've tried giving the
    image the
same colour background in photoshop so it blends, but there
    is a white
edge. How do others handle this? Some expert advice would
    really be
    great to have.

If you are seeing white borders against colored backgrounds,
    then this means
that the white is part of the image. There would be no way to
    remove that
short of editing the image in your image editing program.

  • Reflection Themes have big white box in the background

Rookie iDVD user here, and haven't been able to solve this one.
Trying to use the 6.0 theme "Reflection Black" and it is sticking a big white square in the middle of the screen. It is behind the drop zones and I cannot figure out why it is there or how to get rid of it. It gets added to submenu screens as well. Sometimes if I start over it goes away temporarily but eventually jumps in there.
I am seeing other oddness when switching between other themes as well, but this white box is the one I'm chiefly concerned with. Anyone else seen this? Is there a clean way to trash the non-7.0 themes and then reinstall them? Thanks.
    This is on Leopard btw.

Code? Page link? Can't help unless we see what's going on. It might just be that your container table/div has a white background assigned to it.

  • How do I close the white box with a keyhole, gear, and lock that sometimes randomly pops up in the upper left of my screen?

Every now and then, a weird white box with a keyhole, gear, and lock pops up in the upper left of my screen. I can't seem to close it or move it, and when I try to use another application, it stays there and blocks features. The only way I've found to make it go away is by force closing Firefox. Why does it pop up and how do I close it? I'm on an iMac, Snow Leopard. Have the latest version of Firefox, 10.0.2.

    Hi,
Acrobat xi - RE: Add sound icon- skin displayed is a 'blank white box' until it is clicked to activate it- can you lock skin to display before its activated so that in a print run the skin shows up (ie the controls-or any kind of greyed out rectangle, like video controls before 1st activation) and not the blank white box- if no, I guess I have to activate all sound icons before doing a print run?thanks)).

Many of your points are totally legitimate.
    This one, however, is not:
…To put it another way, the design of the site seems to be geared much more towards its regular users than those the site is supposedly trying to "help"…
The design and management of the forums for more than five years have driven literally dozens of the most valuable contributors and "regulars" away from the forums—permanently.
The only conclusion a prudent, reasonable person can draw from this state of affairs is that Adobe consciously and deliberately want to kill these forums by attrition—without a the PR hit they would otherwise take if they suddenly just shut them down.

  • Photos sync from computer folders, but are in the wrong albums and some photos only appear as a white box?

On my iPad 2, I'm syncing my photos through iTunes from folders on my computer, as I am a photographer and don't like to use iPhoto and not have direct access to my original files.
My photos sync without any hassle, but when viewing them on the iPad half the photos present as white boxes or a half photo/half white screen. I tried resetting iPad as a last measure, I've deleted the photo cache etc, to no avail. In fact, the most recent time I tried it didn't fix the white screen, but also added another issue- my photos now are completely mixed up within the albums. Christmas photos and showing in the Easter album and so on, there seems to be no logic in it! As I was given my iPad last month by my father in laws company, they had bought their stock a while ago and it's now out of AppleCare support - even though I've only used it for a month! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
My Mac is a 1 yr old MacBook pro running snow leopard. My iTunes was the second oldest version, have just updated to most recent version, but it hasn't fixed anything.

Updating to the latest Iphoto release solved this. First time it rebuilt the libraries the pics appeared again.

  • Downloaded Firefox update for my Mac and now when I open it, there is a white box at the top of the page with a grey bar in it that I can't get rid of

I updated my firefox browser for my Mac and now, when I open it, an empty white box appears at the top of the page with only a gray bar in it. It over lays the Firefox home page and I can't get rid of it, so I can't click on anything on the Firefox page. I tried deleting Firefox and redownloading it, but that didn't help. I have to force quite Firefox to get out of it. Help!

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

  • White boxes appear around drop shadows in PDF's

I'm exporting a file from InDesign CS3 that contains several graphics that have a drop shadow applied to them (added in InDesign NOT Illustrator). When I view the PDF, there are white boxes that appear behind the graphics with the drop shadows. I need to use the 'Compatibility: Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3)' setting from the PDF export dialogue box.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Sometimes having drop shadows on images (imported) that have spot colors causes this. Converting them to process or RGB helps. I know that applies to imported graphics but it may apply to graphics created in InD sgn. Are your graphics set up in spot colors?

  • White boxes around PDF files imported to Indesign

I'm trying to create a portfolio of Ads that I've done in the past. I exported them as a PDF and then importing them back into InDesign to fit in a certain picture frame. The problem is that when I import them back to InDesign and then export them as PDF again, some of the original imported images (in the ad) have like a white low opacity box around them. Some of them also have a white strip over the entire ad. These are not visible on screen in InDesign, or on PDF. They're only showing on the final product after print.
I have to point out that all of these ads were printed before and they were just fine. Does this problem sound familiar in InDesign? Is there a solution?

BTW, don't use OSX's preview to look at PDFs created by InDesign if they take advantage of high end features such as live transparency.
Preview simply isn't up to the task and you should be using Acrobat or Reader.

  • White box under Loader Component

I am using the Loader Component to load my images as they are
    viewed in my file.
Most of my images are ok, but some have a white box
    underneath of them.
I'll have an image that is like 300 pixels wide and 100 tall,
but it looks like a 100 wide by 200 tall white box is behind the
image. It does this with random images using the Loader COmponent.
any ideas what is up or how to fix it?

weird solution. i copied all of my keyframes into a new
document and when testing the movie the box problem does not
    appear.
    is flash got bugs?

  • White box

I've used Pagemaker for 25 years and am having some issues with InDesign. How do you make a simple white box for masking over items? Thanks.

Let me try that again, posting by email doesn't seem to like my underscores...
Tabs are a great way to make fill-in fields when they all align (right  or left). If you have lots of fill-in fields that are different lengths,  sometimes dropped into text like _____ this, you can draw a line, cut  it, and paste it directly into text with the Text tool. Very  controllable (you can set the length exactly, or you can drag and snap  to the margin), you can make dotted or dashed rules.
Another good way is to use fixed spaces and underline them, the same way  Peter described underlining tabs. Underlines can also be customized for  thickness, offset, and line style.
Anything to avoid drawing lots of little boxes!

  • White box in background on menu

I have a white box behind my photos in almost every theme. It wasn't there initially and now I can't get rid of it. You can't click on it and it's not in the drop zones. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
    <br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
