MZCommerce.AuthToken push message interrupting iTunes startup

iTunes 11.3 stalls on opening and a box comes up titled "MZCommerce.AuthTokenResumePendingDownloadsPush_message", wants my password, and tells me to "Click Continue and sign in to check for downloads." (Which is the reverse order of what is to be done btw). Is all this legit?
I updated to 11.3 after this happened but it continues. My computer (OS10.9.4, 2x2.66 Ghz Quad-core Intel Xeon, 16 GB 1066 Mhz DDR3) also stalled in connecting to the App store, told me it couldn't connect, then finally did. And all during typing this I'm getting an orange error band bouncing up continuously telling me my "content could not be saved due to an error", and that I may have been logged out.  Which suggests intermittent internet connection?

The Mac OS X has a good firewall built in, and the suggestion would be to use that,
as it recognizes items that Norton firewall may see incorrectly as a problem to the
OS X system, as OK. And Norton may see integral Mac parts in a different light.
I'd dispense with Norton Wirewall and third party antivirus, and avoid those cleanmymac,
mackeeper, genieo, and other items. Also, avoid downloads of applications from third-party
software sites (such as those hosted by cnet, and others) and if you need Adobe Flash,
go to Adobe and avoid odd popups in web browsers that suggest something untoward, as
that isn't how to get the official product. Even a few odd products who have certificated App
Store products offer useless stuff for the Mac, but manage to stay in the mac App store.
Something as simple as this report utility that says what is in the startup section of the user
files and the main system, can be more helpful to a novice; the report can be posted online
in the ASC discussions, and someone who knows what bogus or issue-prone evidence to
look for, can suggest what to remove; stuff that gets installed that does no good.

i tried to open it again, but the same message pops up.

So i re installed itunes. Noting, i even re-dowloaded it, but still nothing.
i can't even open it, let alone sync my ipod.
I am currently running vista premium, and i had ipod problems with 7.0.2, i had to manually manage the iPod, auto sync crashed the computer. How do i fix it?!?

  • "You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" error message on iTunes startup?

So I cleaned up my Macbook recently, and now I am fearing that I may have deleted something important.
Whenever I start up iTunes, I am met with the "You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" error message. I have read forums that advised editing the Get Info page for the iTunes library to allow all users and staff to "Read/Write", but doing this has not eliminated this message.
Any tracks that were not purchased play normally, but purchased tracks now require additional sign-in that I do not believe was required before. Other than this, iTunes performs normally.
Did I mess something up permanentliy or is there a way to fix this?

The problem was that my account wasn't authorized. But when I tried to authorize it, I got an error message saying that the authorization could not be completed. Thankfully, THAT was something that Apple Support had previously addressed.

  • Message on iTunes startup

I’m brand new to iTunes. I currently have a Creative Labs mp3 player, which I like a lot. Two days ago I bought the 80 gig iPod Classic, which seems to be a very nice unit.
I had resisted iPods due to the proprietary nature of everything. After talking with a friend who said I’d be able to play old mp3 files that I had on my computer, I decided to get the iPod Classic.
I will likely have many questions as I get used to using the iPods and iTunes.
My first issue deals with the iTunes software. When I start the software without the iPod attached a dialog box appears, with the following message:
“You’ve inserted a blank cd or dvd. To burn items on the disc, select the playtlist that contains the items you want to burn, and then click “burn disc” in the bottom-right corner of the iTunes window. If you haven’t yet created the playlist, choose files>new playlist, then drag items from your library to the playlist.”
The problem is that there is no cd or dvd in the drive. This might have something to do with the software hang that follows.
As I've been get used to iTunes and in order to check out something I’ve read in the iPod support areas, I made it to the “preferences” area. I then clicked the “advanced” tab.
There are three tabs under the box that shows the music file location. The first two (general, importing) work normally. When they are clicked, the range of choices underneath them changes with them. When the third tab (burn) is clicked, the system hangs up or freezes. The choices from the previous tab are still displayed. The only way I can close the program is to right click on the taskbar icon. It then says the program is not responding. I’ve included the detail from what Vista shows the problem to be:
    Description:
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: AppHangB1
    Application Name: iTunes.exe
    Application Version: 7.5.0.20
    Application Timestamp: 472bcf3d
    Hang Signature: 93b5
    Hang Type: 2048
    OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

iTunes will close, but then it will not start again until I reboot. Is this a known problem?
I have installed all Windows updates. I’m not sure how to check for an Apple firmware update.
I built my computer a couple of months ago. Here are the specs:
Intel E6750, Asus P5K, Lian Li PC-A70A case, BFG GeForce 7950GT OC w/ 512Mb, Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250Gb hard drive, Corsair XMS2 2Gb memory, Corsair 520W power supply, Lite-On 20X dvd burner, Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
This is not a critical situation as I can still use iTunes and the iPod. It is merely an annoyance at this point. I have not yet ripped any music from cd or used the dvd drive with iTunes.
Should I just go ahead and uninstall and then reinstall iTunes? What will this do the iTunes library? I don’t care if it will wipe it out, but that’s a situation I’ll get into when I resolve this issue.
I appreciate any assistance that may be offered.

None that I can think of. You will probably have to re-add the files to iTunes again. Actually, just go into the iTunes folder, find the .itl file and move or copy it to a safe location. Uninstall iTunes, reinstall iTunes. After it installs, it should be a blank library. Exit iTunes, then recopy that file back to the same location overwriting the new ones created by the new install. When you open, you should see your library back in place.

  • Error message on iTunes startup...

Everytime I try to open iTunes an error pops up and says "iTunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration".. I did just recently download iTunes 7.0.2 but this is the first time I've had a problem with it... Can anyone help?
      Windows XP

this might be being caused by a problem with your QuickTime. (itunes uses QuickTime for audio and video playback.)
so let's first try swapping out your QuickTime.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
    7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

  • IOS 5 seems to work, but when I connect the ipad to my macbook, i get the message that itunes was interrupted when restoring. I try to restore again and I get the message "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-50)." What should I do?

iOS 5 seems to work on my ipad, but apparently something went wrong when restoring. I lost music and movies, and when I connect the ipad to my macbook, I get the message that itunes was interrupted when restoring. I try to restore again and I get the message "An error occurred while restoring this iPad (-50)." What happened and what should I do?

I have had the same issue since day 1 of the ios5 installation.  I always hit "Cancel" and then the iPad eventually shows up again in iTunes.  Then a few hours later, I get the same message again.  Annoying, but I've not found a way around it.

I have 2 games Words with Friends and Cityville that receives a Pop-up message form iTunes...  "Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications" and will not allow me to exit out of the app or play.  How can I get this message to STOP?

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications.  I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone.  I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.  I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either.  Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

  • Annoying 'connect to iTunes to use push messaging' message and app freeze

After installing iOS7 on my iPhone5, every time I open certain apps, I get the message that I have to connect to iTunes to use push messaging. If I hit the OK button, this message keeps on appearing and freezes the app. Double clicking the home button does not force quit the app, the only way to get rid of this message is to reset my iPhone. How do I get rid of this annoyance, other than deleting the app?

Did you get any help on this? From what I can see from surfing this site, it's a BUG that no one has offered a solution to. It sometimes happens after a 'reset' and going to ITunes does not offer a way to 'set up push notifications'.

after upgrading to mountain lion i keep getting an error message saying my startup disc is full. it shouldnt be full because there is barely anything on there and i was running windows with bootcamp prior to this with no issues. my computer now freezes and programs close randomly. The usual command for opening windows with bootcamp doesnt work. once in restarted my computer after it froze and it rebooted in windows automatically. i really just want to know if there is a way to take the upgrade off my laptop because it is very annoying.

    Hi Memalyn
Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.
    Matt

  • In attempting to install recommended software updates I get a message saying my startup disc is full.  I have an Intel-based desktop with 1GB memory.  What can I safely remove?

In attempting to install recommended software updates I get a message that my startup disc is full.  I have an iMac (intel-based) with 1GB memory.  I suspect my iTunes library is using up much of the space (I have no movies installed and have already copied most of my photos to a DVD to free up space).  If I follow the instructions to move my iTunes library to an external HD (can I use a flash drive?) will I have enough working memory to plug it back in for use when I want to access the library?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Moving libraries off the boot disk while doable is not very viable.  It creates many new problems in backing up your data, as now you have more than one source to backup.    See my backup FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
My suggestion is to get at least two copies of all your essential data in one manner or another, and get a larger boot hard drive to replace what you currently use to be able to consolidate your libraries.
As for cleaning space, see my FAQ*:

  • W530 - "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" not working

My W530 displays the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" message on startup.  If I press Enter, I hear a beep and a message comes up indicating that a menu will be displayed, but Windows 8 starts loading shortly afterwards. When I see the message, I can press F1 to get to the BIOS, F10 for Diagnostics or F12 for a Boot menu, but for some reason enter doesn't work.  I've tried several things, including using Recovery DVDs received from Lenovo to wipe the system (including formatting all drives), but still no luck. When I originally received the machine, the "enter" key would bring up a menu, but I have screwed something up and even a full recovery from Lenovo DVDs didn't help.   I run Windows 8 and after receiving the machine used the Create System Image feature (which I had used many times in Windows 7), but a subsequent restore didn't go well and that is when the "enter" stopped working on startup. Any thoughts on how to fix this?  I'm at a loss to understand how the full Recovery DVD process didn't fix it. Thanks.

  • Push messages are not working after iOS6 update

After updating my iPhone 4 to iOS6, push messages of apps like facebook, facebook messenger, whatsapp, google voice have stopped working in sleep mode.
I get mesaages only when I open the application.
I have tried to factory restore, install all the applications once again, sync phone from iTunes but no use.
Do anyone know why this is happening and what is the solution?

    scotth63 wrote:
When you say delete firmware.. do you mean selecting reset on the phone and choosing erase all content and settings? Or actually going in to the phone to delete it?
I didn't try resetting the phone first, I can try that.
You can try that but that's not what I meant. The firmware gets save in your iTunes library os not matter how many often you restore your phone it will always restore from the firmware from your library. This firmware could have issues and as long as you restore from it it is more than likely you will keep having the same problems.
    Here's how it works:
    Mac:
Go to Finder> library>iTunes>iPhone software update.
There you will se the firmware version of your phone, Delete it and then restore. Note that now when you restore the phone, iTunes will re-download a new fresh firmware.
    Windows:
    Go to C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates.
apply the same procedure described above and you'll have the same result.
If are a windows user, when you get to the Documents and Setting folder, make sure that you select the option to view hidden folders from TOOLS> FOLDER OPTIONS> VIEW>SELECT VIEW HIDDEN FOLDERS so you can see the application data folder in case its not visible. And remember to sync as new phone
I would recomend doing this first.
Hope this helps and good luck.
