N:1 file merging scenario in bpm

Hi friends,

To Collect Files from one Sender:
There is ne need of using fork. U have a loop in the BPM and give the condition as counter 'notequals' 3 and have the receive step in it. Also have a two container variables within the loop one container variable is to collect the 3 files and the other container should be ur counter that determines the termination condition of ur loop.
To Collect File from Multiple sender:
U should have 3 receive steps within fork to collect the three files and also u should have a correlation to match the files.

Error handling in File - XI - SOAP scenario without BPM

Hello!
We have a File -> XI -> SOAP scenario without BPM. The problem is that if the Web Service sends back an error XI tries to reprocess the same message again and again instead of taking the next one.
We do not want set the retry interval to NULL because most error cases are temporary connection problems and then also those messages would not automatically be reprocessed any more.
We also have to use BE instead of EO, otherwise the Web Service will not return a response. But we need the response to be sure that the processing was successful. The message volume in this scenario is quite high and we do not want to use BPM only for the error handling.
I know that from SP19 some additional adapter modules are available for async - sync scenarios without BPM. I tried to configure it like described in File - RFC - File without a BPM - Possible from SP 19. but it did not solve the problem. Does anybody have any other ideas? Thanks.

I think, you should check that out. It is assumedly only 2 days work to build a scenario:
IDoc -> BP
BP <-> SOAP/HTTP
BP -> IDoc (Acknowledgement)
In the process you need a condition branch, where you decide success or not. You need 2 Interface Mappings for filling the ALEAUD.
Just send 1000 IDocs to the Test-XI and look to performance monitoring at Runtime Workbench, to find out, how many message will be processed in one hour. Assumedly 3000 and more per day should be possible. The advantage would be to reduce number of systems (no file system) and messages (better monitoring) and using the standard (better maintenance).

Yes, build the SOAP envelop during the mapping. Most easy is to use XSL or, if your mapping is ready, an additionsal XSL. You can put the error into the Acknowledgement to see it in ERP transaction WE02.
Filling of ALEAUD fields:
E1ADHDR/MESTYP: original message type
E1ADHDR/E1STATE/DOCNUM: original IDoc number
E1ADHDR/E1STATE/STATUS: 68 in case of error, 53 in case of success
E1ADHDR/E1STATE/STATXT: Short description for R/3 user what has happend
I ve done such a scenario several times. That works without any problems.

File to SOAP Scenario Using BPM

I am doing File to SOAP scenario using BPM.
while doing Integration Process in IR, i got the following error message
"Expression of simple type xsd:string expected"
But i have given xsd:string in the correlation element as well as in Data types.
I dont know why it is getting the error.
could you anyone please help me to sort out?

Hey,
Check in the correlation editor, where you define the condition.
Whether the data type of the XPath is string and whether it matches with the data type of the messages that you have selected.also make sure the type of the correlation variable is string.

Soap to File Scenario with BPM

Hi Guys
I have create my Soap to File Scenario using BPM to split the file on "Transformation step" into 7 files and it must save these files to my FTP Server, when testing on sxmb_moni I don't get any errors but when checking on the FTP server no files are created, and I understand that it should be showing all seven processing on the sxmb_moni, but that is not happening.
I have used the ForEach mode on my Block.
What could I be doing wrong.

File to RFC scenario using BPM : a synchronous one

I am doing File>RFC>File scenario using BPM with help of the blog
RFC Scenario using BPM --Starter Kit
here everything is explained but i am getting error while the processing of BPM part
Input file is being picked (this part is success) but rest BPM and response i am not getting back in .

File to IDOC Scenario using BPM

Hi Experts,
    I am working on file-Bapi-Idoc scenario using BPM.
    I have two conditions
1. If the Sonumber is populated then need trigger an Bapi_change
2.If the Sonumber is not populated from the file then need to trigger a Bapi_Createfromdat to create the sales order and receive the salesorder number as response from Bapi
and the response of these BAPIs should be validated whether the Bapi is successful or not.
If it is successful message then need to trigger IDOC or else should throw an alert message.
let me know the steps involved in this scenario.
can i send alert message to other email IDs or can i send it to only XI admin?
Please let me know u r inputs.

You need to have a BPM for this.
BPM design.
Recieve step(abstract asynchronous) for file structure
Switch Case(condition whether sonumber is populated or not)
if populated
Branch 1(of switch)
    transforamtion step:- mapping between File and Bapi_Change(Request structure)
Send step(abstract syncronous) To send the BAPI_change
Branch 2(of switch)
transformation step:-mapping between file and BApi_Create
Send step(abstract synchronous) To send the BAPI_Create
Block step(which will include the Switch step)
    trigger an Execption in case of an error(in any of the two branches) through the block
    The Exception will trigger an alert.
Now after the Block step there will be a transformation step(which will have the mapping between RFC response and Idoc)
Next is the send step(abstract asynchronous) for the idoc
In case if there is no exception the Idoc will be triggered or the exception branch will trigger the alert

There are 3 parts of communication: Sender service to Integration Process (Asynch.), Integration Process to RFC (Synch.), Integration Process to Receiver Service (Asynch.)

Sending files with and without BPM in one Interface.

Hi All,
I have to send three files to my receiver system. 2 files of same structure after little mapping need to be merged into single file (Using BPM) and once this is successful the third file needs to be posted without any mapping.
I have thought of
1. using two communication channels activated using a UNIX script externally
2. using two comm channels with a activation time difference, i.e the 3rd file should be polled after some time when the first two files polled, but this is not helpful as if the two files doesnt process properly then 3rd file is not desired.
Now my question is can we do this scenario using 1 comm. channel with EOIO , masking or anyother option.
Note: the third file should always be send after the processing of the first two files completes successfully.

2. put third file in some other folder than source folder.
3. after getting successful synch file responce, in the synch receiver file channel run OS command to put third file from other folder to source folder.

Multimapping(File to RFC) using BPM...issue!!!

Am working on following scenario:
#Two request files merged to map to RFC request ( 2:1mapping )
RFC response is split into two response messages( 1:2 ).
I have done the whole thing in BPM that looks somewhat like this :
Fork(Rec1 , Rec2)-> Transformation1(2:1 map) -> Send(Synchronous BAPI call) -> transformation(1:2 map) -> send(Response 1) -> send(Response 2)
1st part i.e File Merge(2:1) works fine and the request is formed as desired. Next step when synchronous call is made to the RFC the response recieved is where i am facing issues. I dont get the expected response and eventually the following steps fail.
When tested the same RFC(BAPI_SALESORDER_SIMULATE ) in tx SE37 with same data it works fine.
But when same data is sent from XI it returns a error message in place of the response.
Error Message states "Please enter SoldToParty or ShipToParty Number" .
Irony is sold-to-party is sent in the request message and can be seen in payload in monitoring.
Any kinda help is appreciated !!!

I checked the tab in CC but still the same issue...Do we need to add something to the Name/Value section below that?
And yeah I am sending 10 digits only..
BTW do we need something additional when we call a BAPI from XI apart from the data we normally use in tx SE37.
Can my Configuration be a problem?
For this synchronous call in BPM I have created :
a) 2 interface determinations...One from BPM to ECC and another from ECC to BPM. But both are without any operation mapping as the message types are same & both are synchronous...
b) 1 receiver determination i.e : from BPM to ECC.
c) 1 receiver agreement.

BPM is used for Stateful communications,suppose u have to delay message processing,or wait for other messages to arrive and then semd them all together,in that case use BPM.
We will use BPM when ever we want to do the following:
1.Controling or Monitoring of messages in XI
2. Collect or Merge the messages in XI
3. Split the messages in XI
4. Multicast a Message
5. Need to send an Alert
6. Transformation

Process step types:
Message relevant:
Receive: We use it to receive a message. By receiving a message we are sending the data into process. We can use it to start a process. We can use it for activating or using correlations.
Send: We use it to send either an asynchronous or synchronous message or an acknowledgement.
Receiver Determination: We use it to get a list of receivers for sub sequent send step. It calls the receiver determination that we configured in the integration directory and returns receivers list.
Transformation: We use it to change a message inside the process. E.g. bundling multiple messages into 1 or splits a message into multiple.
Using this we can create N:1 or 1:N or 1:1 transformations. In general scenario 1:N transformation is possible.
Process flow control Relevant:
Container: We use it to set a value for target container element at runtime. Target container element and assigned value must have same value.
Control: We use it to terminate the current process and to trigger an exception and to trigger an alert.
While Loop: To repeat the execution of steps within the loop.
Fork: We use it when you want to continue a process in branches that are independent of each other. E.g. to communicate with two systems that are independent to each other
Block: We use it to combine steps that you want to execute one after the other and which are to access the local data.
Empty: It has no influence on the process flow. We use it as a place holder for a step that has not yet been defined, and as a step with no functions for test purposes.
Wait: We use it to incorporate a delay in the process.
Switch: We use it to define different processing branches for a process

A background program should be scheduled to run every 10 minutes to analyse any material records that have been created or changed or deleted that have occurred to the material master records in the last minute.
There are two Message Mappings involved in the whole scenario. First mapping is N:1 Mapping which will be used in BPM and second Mapping is 1:1 Mapping:
1. First Message Mapping  N: 1 u2013 Mapping between IDoc (occurrence u2013 0...unbounded in u201CMessagesu201D tab) to IDoc with changed occurrence of its top node (IDOC) as 0...unbounded. This message mapping will be used in BPM u2013 transformation step.
Description: This BPM collects all Idocs for 10 minutes which are of Message Type (ZMATMAS05) according to Receiver Partner Number (Field u2013 RCVPRN) and calls N: 1 mapping to bundle the collected Idocs in a One External Definition for that IDOC.
Use
You use a wait step ( ) to incorporate a delay in a process. Usually, you use a delay to define when the next step in the process is to start. You can define a delay as either a point in time or a period of time.
At runtime, the step waits until the specified point in time is reached or the specified period of time has passed. The system then continues the process by proceeding with the next step.

To deal with Multiple sender and receivers based on the conditions we could use BPM. Its one of the feature of BPM, but its not mandatory to go for BPM for each n every case. Its depends upon scnenario.

File sender adapter:FILE to IDOC without BPM, can't see in SXMB_MONI.

Hi all
I have a FILE - XI - IDOC Async scenario without BPM.
I configured FILE sender adapter and IDOC receiver adapter. I made a mapping to transfer file data to the structure of IDOC.
Now when i am trying to load the file using command prompt, i cud see nothing in the monitoring. Whereas if i go to the communication channel monitoring of runtime workbench, i saw that CC is polling correctly and was reading the file also.
And also wen i saw in the processed folder which i mentioned in the CC configuration for the ARCHIVE DIRECTORY, i saw that file got transferred to the folder also.
I don't understand why i cant see anything in the monitoring.
Could anybody help me to rectify the problem. Is there anything i m missing ?

Trace_Level = 3 then you can get all MONI PIPELINE Steps also
I did this change but cudn't see anything in SXMB_MONI.

But instead of IDOC splitting i have simple FILE - XI -IDOC scenario.
I have configured everything exaclty the same way it is mentioned here. But for me the process is not visible at all.
I can't even see the first request message in the monitoring.
This is the message i can see in the communication channel monitoring:
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Success Channel CC_*: Entire file content converted to XML format
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Warning Channel CC_*: Empty document found. Proceed without sending message

Is there any problem with the file and that could be the reason it cant convert the file to the request message MT_REQUEST and thus am not able to see anything in monitoring.
help me guys....this is a simple process and i m stuck...its frustrating
