N200 Firmware and Backlight h

Hi there
I'm think of buying this player, but have to admit I'm put off by the problems with the backlight hiss.
I know there is firmware due out to solve the clicking and crackling problems with this player, but could someone confirm the backlight hiss problem will also be solved by this.
Apologies, I know this has been raised before, but all the replies seem to say only that the crackles will be solved.
Also, do we have any idea of the firmware release date.
Many thanks

Yes, just updated my player, backlight buzz is still there. I was kind of expecting it as whenever the backlight issue was raised, the standard reply was that the pops and crackles would be solved by the update.
It didn't stop me buying the N200 and I do think its a great little player, but a clear answer on whether the backlight buzz is an unsolvable hardware issue or could be solved by future firmware would be appreciated.
Having said that, great to be able to listed to mp3s without glitches now. That was the most important issue that needed solving.
Re headphones, am I right in thinking that headphones with too high an Ohm rating drains the battery quicker? I think above 0 Ohm was warned against. How much quicker does the battery drain. Just wonderering if anyone knows..

  • N200 firmware changelog and version che

I was wondering if there was a way to check what firmware version you have on your N200. I also noticed another post that listed all the firmware available and but there was no way to tell what changes were made from version to version (other than the notorious volume -25 change). Anyone have any ideas on either subject?

Go to the top of this page where it says Support and then click on Product Documentation. You can download your full manual for the Muvo N200. I keep a hard copy and use that to help answer all my own questions about the player.
Below is a thread from forum member dingens back on 2/05 regarding N200 firmware. I found it very helpful.

.0.02 ..0 .2.0 .5.0 .6.02 .20.04.2.0 = last version with 0-40 volume scale.20.04 = latest/current versionOther versions can be ignored IMO.Be careful: Downgrading back to .2.0 is NOT possible according to recent forum posts. I'd also avoid installing firmware older than the original version found on your N200, there could be hardware revisions not supported by older versions.

If the new firmware won't fix your problems, there will be a (software) fix in the end of Februari.
More information on the background noise can you find at the old Europian forum: http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...asp?thre=52447

  • IMac G3 won't boot after updating the firmware and upgrading the OS!

    Hi! Everyone,
I have an iMac G3 333MHz (five flavors) which comes with 192MB of RAM and 6GB of hard drive. Originally, it was OS 8.5.1 installed, later upgraded to OS 9.2.2. Of course, the firmware has been updated by the appropriate method provided by the on-screen instructions before the installation of 9.2.2. After successfully updating the firmware and installing Mac OS 9.2.2, the system booted up and worked fine. However, after shutting it down and powering it up a few days later, I have encountered a critical problem:
    1. At first, the iMac would chime and displayed a smiley-mac finder face.
    2. No question mark appeared and the system halted because it stayed at the same screen for about 5 minutes! Also, the keyboard wouldn't respond. For instance, the LED signal light wouldn't light on when Caps Lock was pressed.
    3. I assumed that this is just a typical crash and rebooted the machine via the "reset" button on the right side of the machine.
    4. After restarting, well, no luck, the same condition. Therefore, I rebooted it again by using the method mentioned above.
    5. The condition of sticking at the smiley-mac finder face occurred again! However, this time the iMac wouldn't chime and just displayed the mac face.
    6. Another restart, well, it was getting worse... no chime and no smiley-mac finder face but a white screen.
    7. I was frustrated then and shut the machine down forcefully by rebooting it again and pressing on the power bottom quickly before the screen appears. Also, I unplugged the power cord.
    ---------- After a few hours later ----------
    8. Okay, I then plugged the power cord in and booted it up again, this time, it would chime but stuck at the white screen. => No smiley-mac finder face appeared!
    9. Rebooted it again, the result was as same as step 8.
    10. Another restart, the smiley-mac face finally appeared but still... stuck here and this time, no chime.
    11. I then shut the machine forcefully by using the method mentioned above and let the machine rest for about a day with the power cord unplugged.
    ---------- After resting for a day ----------
    12. I booted it up and it would chime, but no screen (the power button was orange, not green). I then forcefully shut down the machine.
    13. Waited for about a minute and powered it up. This time, I tried to clear the PRAM, but no chime and gave me a white screen. => No luck! As mentioned, the keyboard's LED signal light wouldn't light on even though the Caps Lock key has been pressed.
*Note: The keyboard has been tested on the other computers and it worked. Also, I tried different USB ports to plug the keyboard in. => The USB ports were all in working condition, as I can know from the last successful start up.
    14. Forcefully shut the machine down and tried to enter the Open firmware, no luck. It didn't enter and gave my a white screen.
    15. Conclusion:
    1) After resting for a while, the iMac would chime.
    2) Rebooting too much times would cause the machine not to chime and leaded the screen to become white instead of the smiley-mac finder face.
    3) However, rebooted the machine when the screen became white, the smiley-mac finder face would appear again without chime.
By the way, I could hear the hard disk spinning up so that means the hard disk is working.
Can anyone help me solve this problem? Is it related to the firmware update? Any suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks!
    Andy

OK, I will try replacing the PRAM battery. Also, the PowerMac G3 and the other iMac 233MHz had the dead batteries. They are still working though... Should I replace them along with the iMac 333MHz? In case of not replacing, will they malfunction in future times? There are some symptoms on this two machines: 1. iMac 233MHz - No chime and no sound when adjusting system volume (the bi sound is not available), but iTunes and other applications can still use the audio device and output the sound via internal speakers; 2. PowerMac G3 450MHz - Will chime but sometimes hard to boot: 1) Chime but no screen; 2) No respond after pressing the power button => the power signal light won't light on. Every time I experienced this, I would open its case, pressing a small button (not quite understand what it does... anyway, just works if system halted.) near the PRAM battery and wait for about a minute, then close the case, and it boots. However, I have to reset "Date & Time"...

There was some updayts for my iPad 4 automatically downloaded. After installing it, the iPad began to restart itself every few minutes.

i connected my iphone 3g to itunes which was in 4.1 firmware and itunes ask for an update which i downloaded an updated the phone to version 6.1.3 but my phone cannot start it shows no service my sim card is not getting network and i cannot use the phone. what should i do.?

First, you do not have a 3G if you could upgrade it to 6.1.3, because 4.2.1 is the last version that will work on the 3G. So you either have a 3GS or you somehow hacked the phone to install an incompatible version. You can check the model you have by entering your serial number here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Assuming you have a 3GS the most likely reason for your problem is you have a gray market phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it. When you upgraded it you removed the hack, so the phone is now locked to its original carrier.

  • No firmware and no contact with PC with zen visio

I wanted to upgrade firmware and followed an instruction that told me to rebuild firmware first and then install the firmware upgrade. The update program doesnt say it is docked - although it states docked in the Vision M screen.

Ok, I am assuming that either pc suite is so buggy that no one has had a chance to emulate this or that no one has this issue other than me and everyone is synchronising their outlook contacts with their N70 and are still able to us voice Tags?
If anyone is experiencing this issue can they please let me know I am not the only person having this problem or preferably if anyone knows a fix please let me know so I can either ignore and forget ever using voice tags or allow me to use what would be a really useful feature?
I am beginning to think this may be like a Microsoft built in feature

  • Firmware and third party updates

    Hi Everyone,
Currently I am running ARD version 3 on tiger server and I have Tiger and Leopard OS X running on my client machines (G5, Intel Mac).
I was wondering if there is a way to send Apple firmware and third party application updates to all of my Mac clients using ARD.
I have used "softwareupdate -i -a" and this command seems to be only working with Apple software but nothing else.
    1. Is there a command that I can send (using ARD) to update firmware on all my Mac clients?
    2. Is there a command to update third party software such as Adobe, Roxio etc?

    1. No
    2. Only by repackaging the updates into an Apple standard package installer and pushing them out via ARD. I suggest you use LanREV's InstallEase (Free) to package up the updated files on your master build system and deploy those packages.

  • CURRENT Bluetooth Firmware and Software Version Listings

OK, I'm hoping there is someone out there that can provide me with what should be a relatively simple answer. My current machine is an iMac G5 1.8GHz. (Non-iSight), 2GB RAM, and 1TB hard disk running OS X 10.4.11
I'm curious to know what the current, up--to-date version listings should be for both the bluetooth software as well as the bluetooth firmware as displayed under "Bluetooth" in the System Profiler when selecting "About This Mac".
I've been experiencing some bluetooth "weirdness" lately and before I provide any additional information as to the exact problem, I'd like to know if the firmware and software versions are up-to-date first.
Apple doesn't seem to provide a chart to check against (unless I missed it), and other's on the forum have explained that those specs are "model-specific", making it a bit tricky. to determine. So that's why I listed my machine in hopes that someone can tell me what versions should be appearing.
    Thanks in advance!
    Ed M.

  • Modern firmware and software version not matching

Hi...I upgraded my software version to 5.0.1 and didn't upgrade the baseband. My current baseband is 2.10.04. Would this cause problems? I didn't update the firmware due to turbo issues.
Recently I'm having some problems of 'NO SIM CARD INSTALLED'. Does unmatching of firmware and software version have to do with this ?
