N200: is battery lid covered by warran

Hi all,
the clip holding the battery lid in place on my N200 broke off.
This means that the battery lid keeps falling off (and there the battery too).
I got the player about 3 months ago, so I was wondering if this is covered by the warranty?
Otherwise i'm extremely satisfied with this great little player

Yes as sasalove wrote there really isn't a point. But if you want you can. But I would recomend trying to fix the place where it broke by adding some hot glue maybe? I don't know try a few things though.~Derek

I've lost the battery lid of my ZEN NANO PLUS (black). There's a way to have it's I li've in Pisa (ITALY) and the shop where i bought the MP3Player (MEDIA WORLD) said me that thay have no a direct contact with you.
I very care about it cause it was a present.
    Thanks for the answer.

Grazie.

If you have broken two?covers, then I suppect you are a hard user.
Yes I am using players very often. I am listening daily?radio shows for a few hours and then I?am writing analysis and reviews of those shows.
If careful, they don't break. We have six of them here at my house?with no cover?breakage. The only one I gave as a gift, now has a broken tab. That owner just jamed the cover in place, so it was no surprise when it broke.
I think I am using the player normal and in daily situation - walking, in the bus etc... I have been able to find many examples of broken lid for Nano Plus that are available here:

Don't think that Creative is going to redesign the cover at this late date.
Well I didn't mean in the sense of re-design but in a sense of a new model that will upgrade Nano Plus. If new model will have better battery lid I would immediately transfer to another new and fresh model.
What is the current status of Nano Plus anyway? Has that model been replaced by any other new-upgraded model in the mean time?

  • Battery Lid for Creative Zen Nano Pl

I have bought two Zen Nano Plus (gb) mp3 players two months ago.
Unfortunately the battery lid broke on both of them. I was able to find that
this is the common problem problem with this player:
    http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ead.php?p=7744
Besides this problem, the player itself is fantastic.
I have tried to find the lid at the local dealer but they to not have them.
Is it possible to order the battery lid somehow - I am in Croatia, Europe?
Also another question - will there be in the near future be another upgrade of the Zen model (like that was Zen for Muvo) - if that one will have better battery lid I am interested thent o buy that one in the future too?
I hope that lid will be redisigned.
Any answer will be very appreciated.

With the lid closed in clamshell mode, the lid covers the fans - won't it overheat?

This is useful but the MBA gets a bit hotter due to intake, but if you have the lid open + external screen it gets even hotter due to more for the GPU (processor) to do.
Only way I’ve manage to run only external screen with the lid open is to trick the MBA that the lid is closed with a magnet positioned on the left.
I’d really like a software solution to this though…

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus N911 Tries to Copy from ADF if Lid Covering the Glass is Completely Open

    Hi,
I just posted a reply to the following regarding an identical problem that I am having:
      http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Scanning-Faxing-and-Copying/Officejet-Pro-8600-N911n-Printer-Tries-to-C...
It occurs to me, however, that the original post I replied to is so old that it is probably better to post my problem in a new thread.
I've borrowed some of the original poster's wording since his explanation of the problem was very clear and concise...
If I have the lid that covers the glass completely open on my HP Officejet 8600 Plus (N911) printer then it usually tries to feed pages from the ADF to copy and then reports a jam since I have not put anything in the ADF. If I partly or completely shut the lidthen it copies from the glass properly. This problem arises when I want to copy pages from a thick book for which it is very incovenient (and not really possible) to hold the book firmly in position with two hands while closing the lid with a third hand.
I think the problem is that the ADF sensors that detect when the ADF is loaded with paper are normally held in the position indicating no paper by gravity. When the lid is completely open it goes past 90 degrees, so gravity causes them to be fall into a position where the sensors are tripped.
We contacted Courtney, a Case Manager on the "HP AMS TCO Escalations Team" and she insisted that the 8600 is able to copy from the glass with the lid open and that our unit must be defective. She sent a new unit, but it had the same problem since it is a design flaw, not a manufacturing defect. When we called her back she did not seem to concerned that the 8600 could not copy with the lid open and did not really want to pursue our problem any further. We asked whether we could switch to an equivalent model that can copy with the lid open, but she said that the 8600 is their top-of-the-line model and there is no equivalent model. In the end, she offered to "buy back" the printer.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any fix so that I can copy with the lid completely open? Perhaps a firmware update so the printer realizes that if the lid is open then it should ignore the ADF? I would even be OK with a menu item that lets you disable the ADF.
Does anyone from HP monitor this forum and can they test this out and report the flaw to the design team, or suggest a work-around to me?
     Thanks!

    Paul,
I noticed that when the cover is completely open (90 degrees), there is a chime sound and the ADF symbol lights up in the upper right hand corner.  If I lower the lid a bit, I can press the copy button and get the copy started before the symbol lights up.  This is the same chime and symbol that lights up when pages are placed in the ADF.
I tried putting shims (small pads of post-its about 1/8" thick) under the bottom edge of the printer in the back.  That is enough to prevent the sensor from engaging the ADF with the top opened fully.  Yipee, hands free operation.  HP would probably say I voided the warranty.
Maybe the printer was tested on a table that was not level.

  • "Service Battery"-service covered under AppleCare?

    I have a mid-2010 13" Macbook, covered under AppleCare until August 7th, 2013.
My battery has recently started acting strangely, or to be more specific it doesn't act as it did previously.
I thought my charger might be broken, and I replaced it, but the problems are still present.
    - The total charge my battery holds has been strongly reduced in a relatively short period of time.
    - The battery will NEVER become 100% charged. It stops at 98 or 99%.
    - The cycle count seems a little high considering I rarely use the macbook without being connected to a power source.

A year and a half ago I moved to China, and I have continued using my macbook as normal after the move. Could the change in battery performance have anything to do with the electric currents being different over here? My macbook was originally bought in Europe.
    I'm wondering:
    - Will my battery have to be replaced?
    - Will it damage my computer if I don't replace my battery?
    - Does AppleCare cover service/repair in this situation?
My closest Apple Store is in San Li Tun, Beijing.
    - Could I go there directly and inquire about service, or would I have to contact them online first/make an appointment?
    - How much would a new battery cost if my battery ends up needing replacement?
Thank you very much for reading!

Since you have Apple Care I would call and make an appointment for the Apple Techs to evaluate the battery. Your battery has less than the 1000 cycle life considered normal.

  • Is battery replacement covered under the warranty?

I've got an ipod touch and the battery is really bad now, needs to be replaced. Under the service page it says that it'll cost me £59 for battery replacement. However I still have my 1 year warranty until May 2012. So does the warranty cover the battery replacement or not ?

    RicardoCC wrote:
yes, it's covered by the warranty
    I'm not sure that's correct.
Warranty covers manufacturing defects, including a defective battery, but it does not cover the replacement of a battery that has come to the end of its working life due to use. I suggest thilakshan that you check this page http://www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html which explains this (although this maybe the page you have already seen).
Another point to consider; there have been several posts in these discussions about poor battery life after updating the iOS. Perhaps you should check out some of those posts and make sure your problem is not that. After all, if you send it in and Apple say there is no problem with the battery (because it's the short-life-after-update problem) you will be no further forward.

  • Battery Not Covered Under Supplemental 3 Year Warranty

After 889 cycles my MacBook battery died, but that was a few months short of the end of my 3 year warranty. I was dismayed to be told that I'd have to pay $150 Canadian to get it replaced, though I was still within my warranty period. So I asked if I could get some expected times for other components to expire, such as the screen display but didn't get what sounded like a straight answer. In the end I was told that if I replaced the battery that my MacBook would "probably" last another year or two. This idea that the battery is "a consumable" seems more than a bit of a stretch, considering the replacement cost and its essential nature. I'm shocked with this shabby warranty coverage, and especially perturbed that THE SAME POLICY APPLIES TO MY NEW MACBOOK PRO even though the battery is an integral part of the newer machine, requiring the machine to be taken apart for replacement. This is the kind of "read the fine print" behaviour that gives business a bad name.

    Hi ncmm,
All of the specifics for the AppleCare coverage is itemized on their page and in documentation that is mailed to you when you active the plan on your computer. It is your responsibility to read it and understand it, if you didn't agree with it or found something in error then it is also your responsibility to contact Apple regarding it. So let's take it from the top...
*Under Section 1, Paragraph B (Limitation), Line item IX*
+(ix) Consumable parts, such as batteries, except in respect of battery coverage under APP for iPod or unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials and workmanship;+
    *http://www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html*
+Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your replacement coverage for a defective battery to three years from the date of your notebook purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan. However, the AppleCare Protection Plan for notebook computers does not cover batteries that have failed or are exhibiting diminished capacity except when the failure or diminished capacity is the result of a manufacturing defect. Apple offers a battery replacement service for MacBook Air and all MacBook Pro notebooks with built-in batteries. You can purchase replacement batteries for late models of Apple notebooks directly from the Apple Store.+
    *http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html*
+For Apple notebooks with removable batteries — such as previous generation MacBook and MacBook Pro computers — a properly maintained battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 300 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.+
While it's very fun to be told that you need to spend more money on an expensive computer that you purchased AppleCare for, it's also important to understand what you're entitled to and what isn't covered before proceeding.

  • Muvo n200 battery li

what's up with the battery lid on the muvo n200?
i bought my mp3-player aound the beginning of december 2004 and the little "thing" at the end of the lid (which holds it in place) has broken TWO times!!! is there anything i can do about this? for example, can i have 2-3 lids (and of course pay for them) or something? because i can't use the player when the battery falls out all the time!!!
the first time i dropped the player about feet (i was sitting on the couch and dropped it on a carpet in our living room while making homweork). second time it happend was this morning when i had to replace the battery...
you should REALLY do something about this, SOON!
i would like to hear from you soon!
    regards,
    martin.

    Smau,
It would depend on if this particular part was available at the time it happened, however there would be the option to send the entire player in if the parts weren't available. In the case of something like this happening it would be best to contact them directly and arranging the repair as needed.

  • Bios battery in laptop Lenovo N200?

Where can I find in the laptop Lenovo 3000 N200 the Bios battery?
Message Edited by toert on 12-17-2007 11:38 AM

Hi toert, welcome to the forum,
good question, which N200 do you have?
There are two hardware maintainance manuals for the N200.
The first covers N100 types 0689 / 0768 and N200 0769. In this manual, although refered to as a solution to different problems, there seems to be no instructions re replacing the backup battery
The second covers N200 type 0687, it is shown as a part and has removal instructions.
I admit I haven't gone to the extent of studying / comparing the two manuals for similarities / differences, but hope it gives you a starting point.

  • MBB Does Not Sleep When Lid Shut

My macbook does not sleep when I shut the lid. This happened recently after I had my fan repaired. I also updated the OS at the same time, so I'm not sure which triggered the problem.
I would have to manually select sleep before shutting the lid; and I would have to press the space bar after I've opened the lid to wake it.
The following thread applies to a MBP. Apparently my problem might be a faulty latch.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5325605&tstart=0
I've reseted my PRAM, but that didn't work. My machine has been in for repairs 4 times (Fan, Logic Board, and the top case has been replaced twice due to cracks).
I'm wondering if I should send it back to the service centre to have it looked at. Apparently, if this is not a hardware problem, it won't be covered under AppleCare, and I would be charge. So just want to make sure...

I tried doing this fix using the guide on http://ifixit.com to dismantle my MacBook and find the battery/lid detector cable which indeed seemed loose at its connector just next to the headphone jack, but when I reassembled the mac still does not detect lid closing and now it doesn't even detect the battery anymore! Yikes! Looks like a trip to the apple store is required anyway.

    Hi,
It can be weak now, please use the recommention in there:
The battery is functioning correctly, but due to normal aging of the battery, the battery life between charges is now significantly shorter then when it was new.
The battery should be replaced to get the most working time out of your battery. If your computer is within its warranty period, you can Contact HP (in English) to verify if your battery is covered under the warranty.

  • Broken iphone 5 I want to sell but how do I remove accounts etc?battery is bust too please help

I Need to sell the phone ,how do I wipe all data and accounts? Batter isnt working and screen is smashed ,buyer will repair it but need to remove passwords etc

You can reset your iPhone to factory settings with iTunes or by going to settings, this article may help you: Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings. As for the battery, you will need to request a battery service from an Apple authorized repair center, you can request one here: https://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/battery-power/. If your iPhone is still under Apple's limited warrantee (1 year), you may be eligible to repair it for free as a defective battery is covered, but if your iPhone is not under warrantee, then it may cost you $79 to repair. If you are also looking into repairing the screen, it will cost you $269 to repair as accidental damage is not covered under Apple's limited warrantee. I suggest that if your iPhone is still under warrantee, you send it to Apple for repair (battery only) as it may cost you nothing. (Shipping costs do apply.)
