N200 Not Charging - Not battery or charger...

My ex's 3000 N200 (0769-BMG) has stopped charging its battery.  Thankfully (I think) I have an almost identical model so have been able to test her charger and battery both of which are fine.
I charged up her battery to 100% on my laptop & put it back in her system.  With the laptop still off the charge light remains green for a minute or so and then starts flashing orange.
When started up and in Windows (XP), it recognises that it's on AC power but the battery life % starts to drop so the adapter is obviously not able to support the laptop by itself.  To prove this I removed the battery and the laptop turned itself off immediately.
So I'm guessing therefore that this is a motherboard problem, but more specifically just the charging circuit .  It's only 5 months outside it's year warranty so I'm highly disappointed, and very concerned seeing as I've got one myself!
Have I any options other than returning it to a Lenovo Authorised Service Centre?  I've replaced motherboards on other manufacturers laptops but can't find a UK supplier for a replacement Lenovo motherboard.
Any help gratefully received.
Bob

i m also having same problem... please help me

  • Battery will not charge, but problem is not battery or ac directly

So I have an HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC. I have had it for almost 2 years without any serious problems.  I use my laptop to play games on steam and have not had any overheating problems before. Yesterday, I had been playing a game for maybe 10 minutes and the computer shut off.  I assumed this was an overheating issue, but I could not turn the computer back on. Pressing the power button made no lights come on, there was no light for the ac led being plugged in, nothing.  I took the battery out and unplugged everything and held the power button for 30 seconds and nothing happened. Eventually, I got the ac led light to come on by plugging it in without the battery in the computer.
So now my problem is that I cannot charge the battery. I can only get the computer to recognize the ac adapter when the battery is not in. However, if I plug in the ac adapter and then put in the battery, it says it is charging. However, it isn't actually charging. It just stays at the current percentage.  If I unplug the ac adapter while the battery is in and then try to plug it back in, the computer will not recognize that the ac is plugged in.  I have to turn off the computer, take out the battery, and plug in the ac adapter again. Sometimes it doesn't work the first time either. I have to turn off and on the power strip that I plug it into. I tried it on another outlet and it worked that way, but I still had the same problem with the battery.
I also have tried to see if the problem is the ac adapter by plugging it in to a different laptop. The other laptop recognized it immediately with the battery still in. I also plugged in a different ac adapter to my computer and it recognized it with my battery still in (it's from an older laptop though so it does not have enough power to charge my battery, so I can't just use that one).
So the ac adapter apparently works fine. It seems like the problem is with my computer. The battery is also fine. I ran the system tests, it doesn't need to be calliberated either. I thought maybe I needed a BIOS update or there was some problem with a driver, but I don't see how that has to do with the ac adapter.  Does anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate it as I need this laptop for school so it needs to be portable with a charged battery.

Hello angiesezrawr, welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that you have a power issue with the notebook in relation to the battery. I will try to help you with this.
Based on the troubleshooting you've tried, the issue appears to be hardware related. Something internal related to the AC power socket and the battery.
For this I would suggest contacting support for further assistance.

  • Blackberry wont send/recieve calls and texts. Net apps and BBM working fine. Not battery, signal or credit problem.

My phone wont recieve texts or send SMS or phone calls. Have tried on many peoples phones, on different networks.
Have had this phone a couple of weeks. It was working fine until yesterday, now suddently when I attemp to call it says 'failed' and when i send tects they do not send. It wont recieve calls and tects from people who have tried in the same room.
I have this sim card years and have never had a problem before.
Untill yesterday I could call, text and recieve both just fine.
My BBM, app world and internet are working.
It is not a battery problem, it is charged.
It is not a credit problem, i have both free and actual credit.
it is not signal problem, the phone shows high signal, and other people on same network are working fine.
I have looked up simular problems, and attempted the solutions. Taking the battery out and resarting the phone does not change it,  regestering the phone and sending service books did not fix the problem.
I have Blackberry Curve 8520, on Tesco pay as you go.
Any solutions? Please include instructions - i do not know how to find out what OS i am running, so if this is part of the solution please advise.

    Hi Ammasay
Phone, SMS and MMS are all services supported by your wireless provider. Considering all of these features are not working, I would recommend contacting them to find out if there is a problem with your account or their services.  BlackBerry features, such as BBM, BlackBerry App World, etc all use the BlackBerry network and thats why they are still working.
    Thanks

  • Battery or not battery, that is the question!

Ok, I’m a bit confuse, I read many post on Apple Support Forum, IpodLounge forum and some other stuff found on Google. Don’t worry, I did my homework and now I’m out of solution to ID my iPod problem.
Model: iPod Mini 4G 1st generation.
Basicly, it run out of battery overnight.
Please, don’t answer “Have you check for Alarm setting?” Like I said, I did my homework prior to write. Have a look:
I test the batteries as Apple recommends it (8 songs, repeat mode, etc…). They lasted for 3h30.
Than I tested it in intervals during the same day (9h15@10h30, 12h35@14h00, 15h25@16h40) for a total 4 hours.
    Than I started overnight tests:
    August 9th : 18h05@18h40, 20h25@21h35 (1h45).
On August 11th I tried to open it, but I had a no more charge message. I recharge on the 11th.
On the 14 of August, I did a Full Restore. Uploaded 4 new song (not the same that I originally tested but, but still...)
On the 15th, I took it back. Empty again. I recharge. Than played from 15h40@16h50. And I received a empty message again. I let it plug to the wall for charging all night.
On the 16th, I played form 14h25@15h15, than empty again.
    On the 2nd Recharge
On the 23rd played from 15h10@15h30, than empty again.
All my recharge last in average 5 hours.
Now I don’t know what to do.
Before I send it to apple for check up, I just want to make sure it is a battery issue.
If anyone experience same kind of problem, please advice.
    Thanks
    Alex

    Curiouser and curiouser....
While I don't have a clue regarding the reason or explanation, something strange just happened.  To summarize:
The 6-month-old T530 (with original battery) has for the last few weeks been turning off (hibernating, then shutting down) earlier and earlier, initially at around 20%.  Earlier this week it was shutting down with ~50% capacity remaining.
Yesterday I set it to charge to 100% (although it stopped at 99%) instead of the usual setting to charge to 92% or 95%.  After that charge it didn't shut down until it drained down to 15%, and when plugged back in it showed 15% remaining (where previously on resumption from hibernation it showed 6% remaining.)
So a battery gauge reset was apparently not needed.  (Or else this particular battery is exhibiting flaky behavior.)
I've read these batteries don't tolerate full discharge, which is not a problem because the computer will shut itself down before reaching a critical level (which currently appears to be 15% on this unit.)
I've read these batteries don't like a full charge and will live longer if only charged to 90-95%.
I've also read that the battery should be fully charged to 100% about every 3 months to improve it's longevity.  Based on current experience I believe I will set my charge threshold to start charging at 80% and stop at 90 or 92 or 95% (periodically changing it) and for one cycle every 2-3 months run it to 100% charge.
(I'll keep a close watch on things for the next few cycles and post an update if anything changes.)

  • MacBook pro won't start up, not battery related

Just today my MacBook pro started turning itself off. I don't know why. But I looked online at all of the discussions related to this problem and have since checked my battery on the side of the computer. All green lights show up. Also the adapter that plugs into the wall is lit up green indicating a full charge. A few times my computer just randomly shut off and now it's fully off.... I just bought this computer less than a year ago and don't know what to do. I've taken the back panel off to try to reset the smc however it there is a black bar that says do not rove the battery which blocks me from removal. Can someone tell me what to do next?

Since it is less then one year old you need to take it to an Apple Genius Bar and have it checked out and repaired under the standard 1 year warranty.
Do Not Wait, Take It In ASAP.
Then I suggest you buy the Applecare extended warranty to extend that 1 year to a total of 3 years.

  • Measure battery capacity (not battery meter)?

Is there an app that measures the battery capacity (i.e. shows the maximum charge it can hold), and compare it to a new ipod touch's battery? If such app exists it would probably require you to fully charge the device and then let it discharge for a while.
I'm not looking for a battery meter, which shows only the current charge.

    Hi Kappy,
I got your point. However, I'm talking about capacity here(Watt hours), which is commonly expressed as mWh and for MacBook Pro it should be 60000 mWh, but mine shows 55000 mWh. Here are the specs for MacBook Pro http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/specs.html
I'm referring to Windows porgram just because I'm not that much familiar with Mac OSX yet...but more I use it, more I like it
P.S. Current Voltage is 12.436V and it does change from 9.8V to 12.65 depending on whether the battery is being drained down or charged.

  • PowerBook G4 15" 1.67gHz (Model A1138)  won't turn on (it's not battery)

I just replaced the hard drive following instructions on ifixit.com (really great site by the way for anyone wanting step by step repairs). I did it all right, but at the moment of truth... Nothing. Power's plugged in. Green light's on. It's taking a charge. But computer won't turn on. Reset PMU already. Nothing. Wondering if I fried the board with static even though I didn't feel any ever and was cautious about touch metal before anything else (plus I wore a static bracelet). I did Vacuum the inside with a brush attachment very carefully so the vac never touched, but in hindsight maybe ******* move...
I will take it to a mac store but thought I could get a quick thought from someone first.
BY THE WAY: The drive is totally empty and I didn't put a OS DVD in the drive before I replaced. Figured I could turn it on and then hold C and stuff the disk in, but it won't go on to get there.

After power-on... Do you get a light when you press the caps lock?
I would also agree with "BGreg" check the Trackpad/Keyboard ribbon cable.
And make sure that the RAM is fully seated.
I doubt that ESD would cause the Mac to not boot, in this case as it sounds like you took all precautions. Everyone should practice good ESD safety as it is always a possibility. Now using a bristle brush with a vacuum, well that's a different story entirely and that can zap it in a heart beat.

I have the same problem, what firmware update do i need? The only one I can find on the web site seems to be for viewing Thai characters only...
That is just the fix in the latest firmware - it does verything that the earlier firmwares did as well.
I would try version .2.0 first - it is not available on the Download page but you can still get it here.

  • Muvo n200-not find by

    hello
I got a big problem with my muvo N200. When I connect it through usb to pc it's not recognized.the picture which shows that player is connected to pc is not appearing. I can't upgrade the firmware and do anything with usb. I tried this on other pc's and different usb cables....where's the problem?

Try this:?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ssage.id=23264?Read posts 3 and 4. Several N200 owners have gotten satisfaction from this, e.g.,?http://forums.creative.com/creativel...d=00348#M62247?I occasionally come back here to check on N200 failures, because Creative just won't put this in their FAQ, I guess they feel they have to see it work for themselves. Even the uber-posters won't acknowledge this fix discovered by AB84. Hope it works for you, as it has for several of us.

  • How to use power not battery?

Just got new Mac Book Pro--my first laptop.  I am confused about the power cord and the power adapter.  How do I run the laptop using power connection instead of battery?  The power cord only plugs into the adapter, not the machine.  I'm off to a great start--can't seem to figure this out.

Yes, in fact it's a good idea to use the AC adaptor whenever it's convenient. There's no harm done to the computer or to the battery. See more:

  • Muvo N200 not recognized by MediaSou

I have a Muvo N200. I downloaded the latest media source software. At first it would not install because it could not find a creative player attached (even though it was). After much troubleshooting I discovered that the creative install program did not play nice if I had other USB devices attached (I have an external hard disk, external DVD burner and a card reader). Once I turned all the other USB devices off then it installed fine. However now that MediaSource is installed it tells me that I have no creative player attached. The player shows up as dri've F in windows and I can read and write to it fine. It also shows up in my old MediaSource software (shows up as Muvo). I have not updated the firmware for this player as I am some reluctant to take the risk that the player will stop working. I see lots of people have problems with firmware upgrades.
Is there something I can do to get MediaSource to see my Muvo N200 player?Any help would be appreciated.

I got my problem fixed. It turns out I also needed the appropriate plugin as well. I sort of assumed it would be all one package but trolling through the forum I found reference to their being different plugins depending on what unit you have. Installing the right plug in fixed the issue.

  • Muvo N200 not working.. any ide

I have a Creative Muvo N200 for about a year now. Just recently it started having problems. Whenever I turn it on it shows the startup logo and then turns off immediately. I've tried deleting all the files on it and that worked for a little bit but then it went back to having this same problem. I tried putting it in recovery mode but I'm really not sure if I did this right because when I tried to download the firmware it, sometimes it said it couldn't detect the player and sometimes it said the player wasn't in recovery mode. Does anyone know of anything else I can do? Or can someone explain how exactly to put it in recovery mode? Maybe I'm doing that wrong, I don't know. Thanks for any ideas.

The full instructions for Recovery Mode are in the sticky thread. PBMessage Edited by PeeBee on -25-200604:50 PM

  • Picture during after connect Muvo micro N200 not disappear after disconect

I used Creative Muvo microN200. My problem is after I disconnect my Mp3 the picture status still appear.
    Please tell me.
    How should I do?:robotsad:

My player doesn't seem to respond to the safely disconnect hardware - the transfer screen appears on the player still, and me keep taking out the battery caused my battery lid to break, in which I don't want to keep emailing Creative every 3 months for a new battery lid. (Yes, no matter how many reformats, firmware upgrades/re-flashes and no matter how many PCs I try, it still stays the same)
It shouldn't affect the player at all - unless your in mid-transfer (but who'd really be that stupid anyway?), it should be designed to disconnect itself once the power from the USB is gone, like in the event of a powercut for instance.
It's still working, if it's not broken, don't fix it.
