N200 Which Drivers for a clean install?

Laptop is an n200 0769-eug. Windows Vista Label - XP Pro install.
This Laptop developed an issue and refused to boot into windows. Attempts to use the recovery program resulted in even the recovery program disappearing! Using the Lenovo button just results in a cycle of restarting without ever getting anywhere.
So I formated C: and did a fresh install of XP. (No recovery discs were available)
Now at least it boots to windows desktop.
Now I need to install all the drivers. Trouble is which ones and in which order.
Entering the serial no on the lenovo site produces a list of drivers but there are different options for some eg Intel video or nvidia video, and a choice of three different wireless drivers.
The Lenovo site also listed the shipped items as follows ....

So how do I know which drivers to install and in which order?
spoiler added
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Here is your driver page:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67855
You have Intel graphics chipset.
I usually install in this order:
Chipset driver  (Intel inf)
System Interface Driver
Graphics
Audio
Lan
Wireless Lan ( Intel Wireless LAN (abg))
Card Reader
Touchpad
Modem
Bluetooth
Power Management  (If it is not working correctly)
Hotkey Utility
Fingerprint Reader (if you have one)
Others as you see fit. (Usb Registry Patch, Wake on Lan, PC DR, System Toolbox)
When you open the downloaded file, it will unpack into a folder.
Pay attention to the instructions that should pop up after unpacking!
Reboot after each driver install.
This would be my strategy for a clean install.
I hope it works for you!

  • MSI blutetooth BToes (old) - which drivers for Win XP SP3?

    Hello,
I'm using old Btoes bluetooth dongle and it's working fine on my old Win XP. Please help me which driver to download for the PC which runs on Win XP SP3?
    This is my dongle: http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=116&maincat_no=131&cat2_no=251&cat3_no=257
I had lots of problem while installing it, so please help me if you were using the exact model. First of all, Windows tends to install its drivers and it works that way as well, but I can not make a serial connection to desired bluetooth device.
I've tried using Win XP SP2 drivers listed here: http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=131&prod_no=116.
However, it didn't work, I can not recall why. I had to reinstall the whole Windows after it. On the other computer it demanded presence of Btoes USB dongle in a USB port in order to boot Win. Like I said, lots of problems. It ended by installing the oldest drivers which came with the CD. Some of the options just don't work.
Finally, when I take a look at properties, it says "Cambrige Sillicon Radio" version (I don't know how to UL a pic).
I have a clean Win XP SP3 installation and don't want to ruin it -- which drivers to install and how? Thanks a lot!

In all honesty, I would say yes, a more recent Bluetooth dongle will most probably be a lot easier for you to set up and use. For example, I use the built-in Bluetooth modules in my MSI Wind and Media Live, both of which use Toshiba hardware, and they are a dream to set up and use, compared to an old Trust bluetooth USB adapter I used some years back. They just work, full stop!
Then I would follow your advice, and not try to use this Btoes 1.0 any more. Can you suggest me which one to purchase (just to be simple to install, uninstall, work fine with XP SP3 and, well, Win 7). Please note I might then use the new dongle for BT headset (which requires better speed?). Thank you.
Previous discussion on Btoes 1.0 is over, thank you, all of you guys!

  • Where to download Toshiba Utilities and Drivers after a clean install?

My new Qosmio X500 is very sluggish just after booting and I want to do a clean install to remove completely the unnecessary software (Norton, MS Office Trial, some Tishiba Utilities) but I want to make sure I can still find and install the utilities (HDD Protection, fingerprint scanner, etc) I do want as well as the drivers for all the components (Webcam, bluetooth, hot keys)
These things dont come on disc anymore and the "downloads" page on mytoshiba point to nothing at all
Please help! I wanted to do this today but cant even call anyone as it is Sunday here :(

If you want to have faster notebook you must not make clean OS installation. Just remove all stuff you don't need and also disable certain applications to start with Windows.
The whole thing is matter of OS configuration.
Please note that Toshiba recovery image is tested and all hardware components will work properly. With your clean OS installation it can happen you will have some strange issues.

  • Disk driver for WIN10 clean install on Iconia W700?

Hi I'm trying to do a clean install WIN10 Release on my W700. My win81 is kind of crap and i need to do a clean install (and not first win8, win81 and then win10). When the WIN10 installer shows the destination window, it is just empty and it asks for a device driver, and gives me the posibility to specify one. I just don't have any idea of which driver it is.Any ideas? br Lars

Solved.I have a WIN81 PRO license, so i downloaded the WIN10 64bit PRO version of course. THis one can not see the disk in my tablet. Then i downloaded the Home version, and this on works. After installation and activation, windows did the pro upgrade automatically.

  • Which drivers for K8N Neo 2 Platinum

I'm just about to place an order for a K8N Neo2 Platinum to go with my AMD 64 3000+ Winchester.
As is usual I normally download the latest relevant BIOS and drivers in advance so everything is ready to go when the hardware turns up.
However, looking at the MSI page, there seems to be a bewildering array of drivers for this board: Neo2 drivers and it's not exactly clear which ones are for my specific board.
For example, I can't seem to find a relevant SATA driver from the list.
The actual board I'm going for is this one from Overclock: link to board
Can anyone list clearly the drivers, BIOS and any other utilities I will need when installing this board?
    Thanks.

Well after a lot of reading, I've determined that the following files are applicable to my board:
    BIOS
    BIOS: 7025v14.zip
    Drivers
    NVIDIA nForce3 System Drivers: NF3_CK8S.zip
    Marvell LAN Drivers: MarvellWXP69.zip
Realtek ALC Series AC'97 Audio Drivers: Realtek_ALCXXX_73.zip
I still can't seem to find a SATA/IDE driver as none of the ones listed are compatible with a Neo2 Platinum.
The closest I can find is the Nvidia nForce3 SATA/RAID driver for Windows 2K/XP but that is only for K8N Neo Platinum (7030).
Anyone know if this is the same driver for the Neo2 Platinum (7025) also?
    Have I missed anything?
There are also lots of utilities, some of which appear to be useful, if not necessary:
    Utilities
    NVIDIA nTune: nTune_MB.zip
    MSI DigiCell: DigiCell_MB.zip
    MSI PC Alert 4: PCAlert4_MB.exe
    MSI Core Center: CoreCenter_MB.exe
    MSI Live Update: LiveUpdate.exe
    Fuzzy Logic 4: FuzzyLogic.exe
    MSI DMI Browser: DMIBrowser.exe
    MSI i-Speeder: I-SPEEDER.exe
    MSI WMI Info: WMIInfo.exe
    MSI PasswordKeeper: PasswordKeeper.exe
    MSI SecureDoc: SecureDoc.exe
    MSI InfoView XP: InfoView.exe
    MSI GoodMem: insgoodmem.exe
    MSI Lockbox: LockBox.exe
Anyone care to comment on the usefulness (or not) of any of those utilities?

  • I'm ready for 10.5 - what should I back up for a clean install?

    Hello
I'm ready to install my newly-purchased 10.5 DVD.
I want to do a clean install. What should I back up before I do so in order to insure that nothing is lost?
I have already copied my entire user folder (except for the items that were permissions locked) to an external 500GB firewire. What else should I copy and how?
    Thanks,
    -----------S

OK, your user folder is backed up. That's a good start.
Generally what I do is take the current hard drive out of the computer, and put in a blank one (preferably a bigger drive too!).
Leopard's kind of an iffy upgrade, so what I'd do is this:
    1) Make a clean install of TIGER. Run the updates.
    2) Install all applications using a new user called "Administrator"—I mean anything you can think of....MacTheRipper, VLC, etc. Everything. Update all the apps.
3a) Copy over your user folder into the Users folder in the root of the drive. Go to Accounts in the System Preferences, and click on the + sign beneath the Users, and add a user with the same name and type in the same name you used on your old build. Enter the same short name, password, etc. It will give you the option to restore that user account if it is seen there.
    OR
3b) Create a new user account, and start up in that user account. Copy pictures, music, documents, and desktop from the old user to their respective folders in the new location. DO NOT START UP MAIL, ADDRESS BOOK, or iCAL BEFORE THIS! Go to your User account's library. Move Mail & Safari from the old user library to the new one. Go to Application Support, and move over the files for Address Book and iCal (Yahoo Messenger, Skype, and Firefox are other ones to move if you have them in there). Go back to the User Library, and move over com.apple plists (from Preferences) for Addressbook, iChat, iCal, Mail, Safari. Try each of those applications to make sure the data transferred.
    4) Repair Permissions.
Now you have a clean build of TIGER. SuperDuper it so you have a bootable backup of your new system on an empty firewire drive.
    5) Update from Tiger to Panther. Play with it for a while. See how you like it. If you like it, keep it and move on from there. If you don't, you have a clean build of Tiger to use. I'm reverting back to Tiger because Panther is kind of slow on my machine, and it offers few real advantages. It's worth sticking to Tiger for me until I get through my current work cycle and hope Apple has fixed a few issues by then.
    Good luck.

  • None of my Applications transferred when Backed up my Mac for a Clean Install

I recently copied all of my important folders & files to an external drive -- everything under my user file.  My documents, Music, Photos, etc. all backed up correctly.  So I clean-installed mavericks.
Today I opened up my applications folder to get MS Office back, and the only thing in my applications folder is a folder named "Akami."  That's it.  My Microsoft Office Suite--powerpoint, word, excel--photoshop, dreamweaver, and MORE are all gone, and the only place I had them was on my mac.
First, why didn't they back up like everthing else did.  Second, if I formatted my drive, is there ANY WAY to get these back?  And no, I didn't time machine or anything else because I thought they were on my drive.
    Thanks.

It didn't back up your applications because you backed up "everything under your user file". Applications for all users aren't in the Home directory, they're in the root of the hard drive. What you should have done was to clone your entire drive to an external.
If you had just formatted your drive and hadn't done anything else to it, you might get them back. But it sounds like you've already reinstalled OS X, so any chance of getting things back is extremely slim.
    Sorry.

  • Need guidance - Vista + XtremeGamer fatal1ty = which drivers for full functi

Howdy!?I just bought an X-Fi XtremeGamer fatalty last nite, and I've been reading the forums. It appears that Vista drivers are flaky and not final, so I was wondering if someone could point me in the correct direction for the following:?I want to install this card with whatever the community concensus is as far as working drivers and software. I'd like to be able to decode Dolby Digital and DTS, and I'd like to use the THX software. Any help would be appreciated. Searches of the forums have just gotten me confused. Also, are there different drivers for fatalty and non-fatalty cards? Thanks,?Fred

the full package from youp-pax, with the modified audio driver from the same package?see youp-pax forum, it works for your card and vista 32?THX will work, but you will need to decode dts/dd by software (in vista), I suggest powerdvd and the likes.. http://www.youp-pax.org/viewthread.p...&extra=page%3D?you can try to download the whole package from there :?http://www.neowin.net/forum/lofi'version/index.php/t545349.html?(this link works, some other mirrors have a corrupted compressed package)?
    and for your card :

grab this modified driver for your card (for xp to use dts dd hardware decoded):

  • Cannot get Boot Camp drivers (for Windows XP) installed

I've partitioned my Time Machine HD for the 32GB/FAT format of Windows XP/Home Edition w/SP2. The installation of Windows proceeded OK. However, after installing Windows, ejecting the W-Install disc, and inserting my MAC OS X Leopard disc, the "setup.exe" file does not open. If I start up in Windows, I cannot open the Opt. Disc drawer since the BC drivers are not installed; if I insert the OS X disc in the drawer, then restart in Windows, the "setup.exe." file does not open.
Where do I go from here to install the Boot Camp drivers for Windows? These drivers are needed for 'normal' Windows operation, and are required in order to install the Boot Camp update. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi David,
while you are in Windows and have the Leopard DVD inserted, can you access the content of it using the Windows Explorer ?
or maybe this hint on MacOSXHints can help you access the Windows Content of your Leopard DVD while in OSX http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080708145453136
If so, you can try to copy the Windows Content onto a USB Memory Stick and use it to install the drivers.
    Good Luck

You should be able to just go to the App Store and select Download again. If that doesn't work, try holding down the option key while selecting "Buy".

  • [GeForce 6] Which drivers and software to install?

I just received my new MSI 6800GT AGP card, but I haven't installed it yet. Last night I downloaded the latest driver directly from NVIDIA. Should I use this driver, or a driver directly from the MIS site?
I am also wondering about which of the MSI utilities are worthwhile. This is my first MSI card. In general I like to install the minimum of extras, and I am not going to mess about with overclocking, etc. Are there any "must haves" in the software suite, or will the straight nView from Nvidia take care of all my basic needs.
BTW, I read a lot of posts in the forum about the different fan/heatsink combos on this card. I got mine from TigerDirect and it does have the copper-colored heatsink and the adjustable fan speed.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

I wouldn't bother with the drivers or utilities from any Vid card manufacturer. Use the drivers from nVidia.
I will say I do use one utility from my Card manufacturer, Giga-Byte,  because that is the only way I can read the temps. I don't want to try a bios mod.

Do you have the BlackBerry® Desktop Software installed on your computer?
If you connect another USB device to your computer, does the same repetitive driver installation?
Do you have an anti-virus program installed? If so, what program?

I have an imac and Epson R2400 printer.  No internet connection so can't get the drivers downloaded at site where printer is.  I am able to get on the internet at the library and could download drivers to a flash drive if that is possible.  Then flash drive could be used to load the drivers at the non-internet site.  Is this possible or do I need to lug this heavy printer to a site that has a connection.

Epson might send you the drivers on a disc.
Use the email link here >  Contact Us - Epson Contact Information, Email, Phone Numbers - Epson America, Inc.
That way you can install the driverrs direclty on your Mac.
