N560-GTX Ti-Hawk Artifacts :(

Hi, i got this new computer 3 days ago:
gigabyte ga-z68ma-d2h-b3
i5 2500k
8gb ram sniper
700w silent pro
msi gtx 560 ti hawk
I have those annoying artifacts in battlefield 3 and napoleon total war, is my video card broken or something? i have also tried whit alot of drivers (unistalled whit driver sweeper and installed back but nothing) my card temps are 40° at doing nothing and 60° in battlefield 3 for example... is there any solution?
Sometimes my bf3 turns black and i cannot open it again, its like a crash.
PS: I cannot test my video card on another computer if u ask me to..... Sorry my bad english

  • Gtx 460 Hawk Modding? about gtx 557,5 :)

Hi guys, i am bored about my GPU so i wanna do some crazy things on it
i have a gtx 460 hawk talon attack, vid of the card is 1,012 and i was so Unlucky about it    it hits hardly 880 mhz without Artifacting on 1,087 volt
i once tried 1,15 volt and reached roughly to 932 mhz and take benchmark on Vantage... it was minor artifacting...
my elder brothers Hawk Talon Attack is vid 0.937 volt and can reach easily 951 mhz with 1.087 volt on vantage
i wonder if i add some nec/tokin capacitors to my card according to gtx 560 twin frozr, and gtx 560 ti twin frozr, will it increase my o.c. capacity
    note: sorry for my english...
    About the referance this idea:

you just have a lower potential gpu. Adding capacitors won't change that. Progress with such means is most likely marginal but as any hardware modifications comes at the cost of possibly killing the card.

  • Is there a way to disable dynamic core frequency on GTX 460 HAWK?

I just got Assassin's creed III.
I've noticed the core frequency on my GTX 460's going up and down during game play.  When the core frequency drops my frame rate drops also.  I have two GTX 460 HAWK's in SLi.  Yesterday while runnning AC3 for the first time I noticed SLi wasn't working but a game update this morning seems to have fixed that.
This up and down frequency change could be caused by a bottle neck elsewhere in my system.  My Mother board is old.
    System is XPS 720 (Dell)
    Windows 7 (SP1)
MB - nvidia 680i (all delled to hell)
    RAM - 8 Gig - OCZ
CPU - Intel QX6700 (3.2 GHz and doesn't max load during gameplay)
Single (crappy) Asus monitor @ 1920-1080
Accepting the idea of a bottle neck, I'm still curious, is there a way to lock the GTX 460 HAWK's at their max frequency of 780 MHz?  Mostly for the purposes of testing.

Thankyou for that instruction.  This worked exactly as I had hoped it would by increasing the frame rate and making gameplay smoother.  I suspect this will improve issues I've had with other games.  I wonder if this will have to be reset back to OFF everytime I update the graphics driver?
It's my opinion that by default this power saving option should be turned off.  I just don't understand the idea that someone who buys a high performance video card or cards as in my case (in SLi no less) would want their performance severely reduced to save power.  I guess it would be great if I was on a lap top or relying on a generator for electricity or something.
I know someone who recently bought a pre-built gaming rig that had power saving features turned on by default for the CPU.  This was causing stuttering and severely reduced performance when in games.  When I bought this computer it also had these (two of them) CPU power saving features turned on.  Am I the only one who thinks it's common sense to either rid a gaming rig completely of these "features" or at least have them turned off by default?

  • GTX 560Ti Hawk high temperature and noise

First of all I want to say "Hi" because this is my first post here!
Second, I have problems with my GTX 560Ti Hawk! The problems are high temperature and very loud fans! I bought this card less than a month ago and it didn't work properly from the first day but I wanted to give it a chance so I kept it for a while so I could monitor symptoms. I haven't even tried to OC it. I monitored it the way it came from the box.
In idle card doesn't go over 40°C which is fine by me considering the weather but when I play games it goes all the way to 85°C and it's loud as jet taking off! It's is pretty much intolerable to be near this card when playing games! This product is advertised to be very cold and very silent but now that isn't the case. What bothers me most is that the card was running on open bench table which has very good air cooling ( I made it myself and decreased ~10°C compared to my case). That means that my Hawk would have burned if tested inside the case, or it would fly away!! :D
Everything is good until card hits 76°C - that's tolerable temperature and the card is still silent, but when it hits 76°C and goes up, all hell breaks loose!
Card doesn't crash and it runs perfectly (got performance increase ~30% from my GTX 460) but way higher temperatures and noise above advertised makes me wanting to crash it with a sledgehammer! :D
I RMA it today and waiting for answer which should arrive in two weeks tops (quick when taking money but very slow when support is needed)
I wanted to ask if RMA is even possible when card isn't crashing??? I RMA cards with similar problems before with no problems but that was Gigabyte - not sure what can I expect with MSI because this is my first MSI product since 2003. RMA should be possible because card has failed to fulfill expectations which are guarantied by MSI...
If they refuse to send another card or return the money, what should I do???
    Computer specs:
    AMD Phenom 2 X4 955BE
    Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4
2x2 GB DDR3 Mushkin Blackline Stiletto
MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk (previously owned Gigabyte GTX 460 768MB which never went above 65°C even highly OC-ed)
    Seasonic 620-GM
Patriot Pyro 60GB and WD 640GB Green
    Thank you!

In my experience restarts like that are caused by RAM. Is yours running at 1600 or 1333?
Nope, reboots also can be caused by almost everything...
[memory issue[along with lockup or bsod], overheating, psu issues..{along with random power off}]
For those particulars cases its the PSU for sure...

    Good Day ...
I have had my pc for around a month now and have noticed that while folding and gaming ... I am hitting between 75 and 87 degrees with the fan profile never going lower than 80% ...
    My question is ...
Are these temps still in a safe range and if I change cooling will it void warranty ?? ... (looking at the Arctic Extreme 2)
Also ... What is that little switch and 3 pin connector on the top of the card ...
    My Rig.
    Asus P8P67 Evo

    Thermalright Silver Arrow (CM Fusion400)

Temps listed are in safe range, if you change the cooling yes this will void the warranty.
You can try to reapply GPU's thermal paste and to retest, also ensure that you have enough room inside PC case along with good and enough airflow.

Also ... What is that little switch and 3 pin connector on the top of the card ...
It is switching between 2 different vBIOSes, one is performance one and other is silent one.
    It's related to FAN behavior

  • MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk SLI not available

I have 2 MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk and when I go into Nvidia control panel SLI is not available as an option.
Both cards are visible and working properly in both the Device manager and the Nvidia control panel and the bridge is installed between the cards.
I am using Nvidia driver 285.62 which I have completely removed and reinstalled to try and solve the problem.
The only strange thing I noticed when installing the cards is that there is a small switch next to the SLI bridge that is marked Performance and Silent. When I opened the boxes one card had the switch was set to performance and the other was set to silent. Looking on the net I found that this was how aggressive the fan control was so I set them both to silent. After running into the problem of no SLI I also tried shutting down the machine and moving both switches to Performance but this didn't fix the issue.
Motherboard is a MSI Z68A-GD65 and Live update 5 says its up to date.
Any pointer on where to look would be appreciated.

K  problem sort of solved. I installed an old nvidia driver 270.61 and it works perfectly. Guess I'll just use the old drive until a game is giving me major issues and then see if a new drive is safe.

  • Msi gtx 560ti hawk running always max clocks

    Hello.
My msi gtx 560ti hawk running always max clocks.
OC core clock up to 1000MHz gives similar results.
OC core clock past 1000MHz will stuck it at 1000MHz. Example i set core clock to 1040MHz and run 3DMark11,but
during the test it never exceeds 1000MHz.
Card is 15 months old and worked normally so far.
    My OC results before was
core clock 1000MHz Core Voltage 1.075V
core clock 1040MHz Core Voltage 1.088V
core clock 1100MHz Core Voltage 1.100V max temps ~78C
I never raised core clock over 1100 and memory clock over 2275.
    Things i'm done so far
    used 310.90 310.70 306.97 306.23 301.42 drivers
    disabled antivirus
mounted card out of the case and switched vbios in silence mode
used Afterburner 2.2.3 Evga Precision X
    reinstalled windows7
    reverted cpu to stock clocks
    Any advice?
    System
    MB: msi z68-gd65 (B3) bios V22.8
    cpu: i5-2500K
    gpu: msi gtx 560ti hawk

    ram: G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL 2x4g 1600
    os: Windows7 SP1

No! Nvidia controlpanel was set to max perfomans and windows power options to high perfomance.
I changed nvidia to adaptive (windows stayed high perf) and now the clocks to come down again.
    Thanks Svet!
There is still a OC problem when i set core clock over 1000MHz.
I just ran 3dmark11 at following overclock core     1040MHz
                                                                  shader 2080MHz
                                                                  memory 2100
                                                                  core voltage 1.075+0.013
In results window the 3dmark11 says core clock 1040.
Afterburner 2.3.1 monitoring window says max core clock 1000
                                                                              shader 2000
                                                                              memory 2099
Although i´m not seeing shader adjusting bar in 2.3.1, there are  only core clock adjusting bar.
But adjusting a core clock will adjust shader x2. Am i right?

  • MSI GTX 460 HAWK Talon Attack beeps when is not on load.

    Hello!
Yesterday I bought MSI GTX 460 HAWK Talon Attack together with FSP Group EVEREST 85PLUS 600W PSU.
I put it all in my old PC, powered on, but then after a while (when started to install latest MSI drivers for HAWK) my VGA started beeping periodically. These are short beeps in not fixed time interval.
The most interesting thing is that when I put my card on load, the beeping stops - it beeps only when I am in windows surfing internet etc.
I have searched through forums and didn't find a clear solution to this problem, but most likely it is a PSU issue.
MSI states, that card requires 24A on 12V for whole system (Core i7 ...).
My PSU is capable of the following:
    Output Current:
     30.0A @ +3.3V DC
        30.0A @ +5V DC
        18.0A @ +12V1 DC
        18.0A @ +12V2 DC
        18.0A @ +12V3 DC
        18.0A @ +12V4 DC
        .8A @ -12V DC
        3.0A @ +5Vsb DC Standby
Complete configuration of my system is:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ (Will change soon)
MB: Asus M2N-E (Will change soon)
    RAM: 2 x 2 GB DDR2 800 (Will change soon)
    HDD: 2 SATA drives
    DVD: 1 PATA drive
VGA: MSI GTX 460 HAWK Talon Attack
    PSU: FSP Everest 85PLUS 600
Is there a problem with PSU or something else could be wrong?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi all !
I also have the annoying beep problem.
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a GTX460 Talon Attack and as soon as I entered a game I got beeps coming from the card. Tried a 3DMark and Kombustor, same issue. The PC is build by me, had a JeanTech 700W PSU and a GTX260 which gave me no problems, ever. As soon as I replaced it with the 460, the beeping started.
I returned it to the supplier and i got it back two days ago with the following message:
"Graphics card passes all Tests with no issues, Tests Run: Crysis WarHead, Furmark, 3Dmark Vantage, AVP, Lost Planet 2, Stone Benchmark MSI Kombuster, Resident Evil Benchmark, ATI Mecha, ATI Ladybug, "
(Graphics card passes all Tests with no issues, Tests Run: Crysis WarHead, Furmark, 3Dmark Vantage, AVP, Lost Planet 2, Stone Benchmark MSI Kombuster, Resident Evil Benchmark, ATI Mecha, ATI Ladybug, Streetfighter Benchmark and heaven benchmark tool, these were all tested at 1920 x 1200 resolution running maximum settings, tested on DX9, DX10 and DX11 where applicable, there was no issues apparent. There was no bleeping coming from the card)
    Regards,
    Overclockers UK - Support"
So I bought a brand new Antec TruePower 650W as I thought maybe the PSU does not regulate the voltages properly. No luck, I am still getting beeps but it's very weird. In idle (browsing internet, watching a movie or listening to music) the card is completely silent and sits in 25-29 degrees. As soon as I enter World of Warcraft (for example) and the temperature rises, at 35-36 degrees, I get 4-5 beeps then it stays quiet and I can play normally. (1920x1200 highest settings)
When I get out of the game and the temp drops, again around 36-35 degrees I get 1-2 beeps and then it remains silent again. No artefacts, errors or freezes. (so far)
I have seen the round sticker "Warranty void if removed" on the back of the card but I haven't touched it.
I really don't know what to do with it at this point and it's a very annoying problem, I cannot play anything like this.
I don't want to RMA it again since it already cost me £30 (transport & testing) plus a brand new PSU. And I love the card, the construction, the looks and the fact that it runs so cold. I just want a "fix".
    Any ideas please ?
    My system:
    Intel i7 920 2.67GHz
    Asus P6T SE X58
    Corsair XMS3 3x2Gb DDR3, 1600MHz, 7-7-7-20, 1T
    Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet
    Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Sorry for the wall of text and thanks in advance. I really hope someone has a solution or it's going to be an annoying Christmas. (I'm a technical PC engineer with a fixation for everything to go smooth)

  • MSI GTX 460 Hawk hangs, need help

    Hello!
Need help with my MSI GTX 460 Hawk.
Sometimes it hangs and I need to restart my computer and sometimes screen goes black and then windows says that video driver wasn't responding and was recovered.
Computer hangs more often in the 3D game, but in not 3D programms computer hangs too, but no so often.
The temperature is ok, maximum is 70 deg. in 3D game. I even tried to set videocard cooller to 100% and it didn't help.
I did no overclocking or anything like this.
I use the latest videodriver from nvidia's website and the latest directx.
    Windows 7 64bit.
Can you help me to solve this problem?

    Board: Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR
VGA:  MSI GeForce GTX 460 Twin Frozr II
    PSU: Raidmax 500W (22A on 12v rail)
    Intel Core 2 Duo 8500 3.16GHz LGA 775
    OS: Windows 7 64bit
The problem: Videocard began to hang:
Sometimes it hangs and I need to restart my computer, sometimes I get BSOD and sometimes screen goes black and then windows says that video driver wasn't responding and was recovered.
Computer hangs more often in the 3D game, but in not 3D programms computer hangs too, but no so often.
    What I've allready tried:
    1. Installed latest drivers from nvidia.com and latest directx.
    2. Checked temperature: maximum is 70 deg. in 3D game at 100% load. I even tried to set videocard cooller allways to 100% and it didn't help.
    3. Installed MSI Kombustor to burnin test videocard, but I can't catch any hangups with it.
    4. Checked windows system log. The last warning after driver recovery message is:
Video driver nvlddmkm wasn't responding and was recovered.
    5. Two latest BSODs were caused by dxgkrnl.sys and nvlddmkm.sys drivers.
    6. Finally installed MSI LiveUpdate, it shows that no videodriver is installed and wants to download an old videodriver ver.  258.96.
