N660 TF 2GD5/OC and DOS mode

I have Dell U2311H 23" FullHD monitor. With N660 TF 2GD5/OC in DOS mode (BIOS setup an so on) I don't have image extension to whole screen - there is 1.5-2cm black border around it. It is very strange because monitor shows 1920x1080x60Hz mode in menu.
Monitor is connected to video card by DVI-D. I tryed both DVI ports on card without difference.
Before I have used MSI NX8800GT-T2D512E-OC on the same system without such problem - there was full screen image for all video modes.
Video card BIOS v80.06.10.00.5E. I made BIOS backup - it is absolutely the same as can be downloaded now from MSI download page for this videocard  (NV287MS222.ROM). Under Windows 7 card works fine.
Could you explain such behaviour?
Board: Asus P8H77-V  bios v1103
CPU:  Core i5 3470 (i don't use intel graphics at all)

  • MOVED: N660 TF 2GD5/OC and Gaming APP error

This topic has been moved to Graphics Cards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=256162.0

N660 TF 2GD5/OC is no Gaming series vga and therefor does not support the Gaming APP. Only Gaming series vgas which provide the required profiles (like N660 GAMING 2GD5/OC) are supported. It is therefor normal that the APP reports an unsupported platform.
As no Gaming series vga is used thread was also moved to Graphic Cards section (from wrong section GAMING Graphics Cards).

  • N660 TF 2GD5/OC and Gaming APP error

    Hello!
I tried running the gaming app but it keeps giving me error "not supported in this platform". I have reinstalled it three times and I have also upgraded my graphic drivers.
On the graphic card box the sticker says as the title suggests "N660 TF 2GD5/OC". I can confirm it's the TF edition as the card has two cooler fans.
Windows display settings says my current BIOS version is 80.6.28.0.39.

Running 10.6.8. Trying to open and view contents of a CD (of an MRI) and getting message 'This program cannot be run in DOS mode' Is there a way? Thanks for the help.

Go to the support site for the provider of the MRI software.
Sounds like it windows/PC. I have ran across that for the CDs that veterinarians provide for digital x-rays.
I would try on a PC or on yuur Mac with Windows via BootCamp or a virtual machine like VirtualBox

You run Windows in Parallels or Fusion. Then in Windows you install the program.

  • When i try download a file from the internet it looks like its downloading then when i go to open this file it opens up in the app text edit and says it cannot open i DOS mode? Can anyne help?

when i try to download a file from the internet it starts to download but when its finished it opens up in the app "text edit" and it says this file cannot open in DOS mode.
    Can anyone help?

It sounds like perhaps the file doesn't have an extension that the system recognizes. Is this all files, or just one specific one, and if so, which? What is the name (and extension, if it has one) of the downloaded file? What kind of file do you *expect* it to be? (PDF, or whatever). Renaming a file with the appropriate extension can often fix that kind of problem.

  • How can I get my system in and out of DOS mode?

How do I get my system in and out of DOS mode?

There is no "Dos-Mode" in OSX.
Guessing that you tried to run an .exe file while in OSX ?
These are meant to be run in Windows.

  • I am trying to reinstall Windows on my macbook pro.  I downloaded the support files and Windows 7 iso file to a USB drive.  However, when I try to run the setup.exe program I get the message "this program cannot be run in DOS mode."

I am trying to reinstall Windows (would not launch).  I removed the partition and started over.  I downloaded the support files and Windows 7 iso file to a USB drive.  However, when I try to run the setup.exe program I get the message "this program cannot be run in DOS mode."  I was successful before, what am I doing wrong this time?

    Try a restart.
If that doesn't fix the problem, shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

I recently brought a HD PVR, i put in the disk to install the hard drive and it said " This program doesn't support DOS Mode! how do i get out of DOS Mode?? Please Help

What exactly are you trying to do? PVRs are for recording from TV not computers.
Either way, if it's complaining about DOS mode, it's Windows oriented software and not Mac compatible.

  • N660 TF 2GD5 UEFI Compliant VBios

    Hi,
I have an issue with my N660 TF 2GD5 since I installed Windows 8.1 in UEFI mode, once I install the official Nvidia driver (whatever the version) I have a dark grey (~black) screen at boot; instead of login screen, sometimes I can see the cursor but I'm completely blocked. For bein able to login I have to uninstall the driver.
I guess that the root cause is that the VBios is not UEFI compliant, is it correct?
Moreover I have an issue when I try to dump the firmware:
NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility (Version 5.164)
    Adapter: GeForce GTX 660      (10DE,11C0,1462,2871) H:--:NRM B:01,PCI,D:00,F:00
The display may go *BLANK* on and off for up to 10 seconds during access to the
EEPROM depending on your display adapter and output device.

    EEPROM ID (EF,3012) : WBond W25X20A 2.7-3.6V 2048Kx1S, page

    Any help is welcome!

Doubtful as the machine would not even post if being set to UEFI mode but vga is not using a GOP compliant vbios.

And what problem is it? Doesn't it continue saving? If Windows works without driver use gpu-z to save the vbios: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
