    Hi,
    I recently bought a N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC card , serial number : 602-V284-09SB1208007979
And i tried to update the bios through Live Update 5 but when i tried to check for update using the program, nothing happens.
It does not seem to detect my current bios version or any newer bios version. I'm currently on windows 7 64bit.
Can you please send me the latest bios for this card?
    Thanks.

what's current vbios version installed? save it with nvflash http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2133/NVFlash_5.118_for_Windows.html
    syntax: nvflash -b myrom.rom [enter]
then upload vbios somewhere and give a link to it

    Hello.
    I bought a MSI Intel 845GVM-V motherboard.
    a Celeron 2Ghz 478pin 400MHz Processor (product code BX80532RC2000BSL6VY)
    and 256MB DDR400 CL2.5 RAM
Powersuply are marked and tested as aproved for AMD and Intel
I have put toghter quite a few similar motherboards and computers before, but not with this type of motherboard and combination.
I'm stuck in something that might be an intenal error. But it's a good thing to ask here first before i return it as faulty.
I have double checked all the istallations.
When I start power it up then all I can see see is the 8Xtreme series start up info screen.
Pressing Del to enter the bios setup gives no responce. Only ctrl-alt-del to make a reboot works.
And there are No warnings beebs during start up.
Any clues from any one what I can do to trouble shout this problem?
Does any one know where to get or buy some good analyse SW-tools to trouble shout this type or similar type of problems?
    Or
Other kind of problems when the Bios seem to work ok but there are other OS or HDD related problems.
    Thankfull for answers.

One odd thing that i think solved the problem.
I tried to use a boot up CD.
Same behaviour , all freezed at the 8Xtreme series start up info screen.
But when I open up the CD-rom to remove the CD then the Bios screen pops up.
Bios info: IDE primary slave  = MATSHITA CR-591  (check strap = slave ok)
I tried to re-connect the CD-rom as master on IDE bus2. No change same behavior.
dis connect it from any IDE bus and power makes bios to be accesable and HD to work as normal.
even if it might be needed , here are some more info.

Thanx for your help Danny. Think I need to find another CD-rom.
    Still searching ,, so
If you or any one know about some well working trouble shout programs for a varity of PC , bios , Hd or OS related problems please give me a note.

hey guys i just had a new game rig.

just wondering how can i overclock my CPU w/ this rig coz i cant see any threads regarding this mobo, also i cant open up the BIOS of my system i have a windows 7 64 bit ultimate. hoping for some good advise.

Recommend to do all the bench tests at the original auto/stock/default settings, then you have something to compare later results with. In Reply #10, I have given some basic pointers at which to start. Soon as CPU V. is taken out of auto, you will lose any power saving advantages at low use & idle. Another quick & dirty way to do it is to set the CPU V. at the industry recommended maximum of 1.400v's, & start to increase the CPU Ratio up one step at a time until it fails to boot the OS. Keep in mind, load overshoot will usually spike the VCore past the 1.400v's at times in varying amounts. For gaming, OC'ing RAM is a wasted effort. After extensive testing, it made almost zero change in gaming performance on it's own.

    There is a lot of information in this thread that may be of use. This is basically one of the alternative ways to OC;

  • N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC fans @ full throttle at startup

Since a few days I have the N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC and all is running very well
But I have used MSI cards for years and the is the first one that is at full fan throttle when my system starts up. Only when Windows 8 Pro 64bit is running, the fans throttle down. It's not really a big issue I think, it's just a bit louder when starting up and then it gets quiet.
But just to make sure I want to find out if this is normal for this card?

the dust removal spins the fans in reverse at full speed for 30 seconds to pull any dust out the fins to keep then clean then it reverts to normal direction operation after that and runs on the standard temperature Dependant curves... just so you know how it works!
Yep, that info is what I found hidden below the flap on the box. Found that by accident. Think it's also info that should be mentioned on the MSI site with the specs of the card? Can imagine that more people are not aware of the hidden info under the flap (I never thought of looking there) and are wondering why that sound of the fans is there when starting up.

  • HP Pavilion DV6-3029tx Cannot Access BIOS Setup

Hello there, I have used this laptop for nearly two years, if I remember correctly.
Basically, the problem is that I want to disable Function key, but I cannot access BIOS setup.
I have tried every combination of keys at start-up screen, from ESC to F10, none of them worked.
So I thought maybe an BIOS update can solve the problem (My current version is F.07), I downloaded firmware from HP support site and run it, know what, the screen flashed and system get restarted, but nothing had changed, I didn't get even an error message.
The problem is actually found by a HP supporter when I send my laptop for cleaning last year, he didn't manage to fix it at the time and problem became devastating for me lately because certain software I am using rely heavily on function keys. The only things "big" I have ever done to my laptop were updating windows 7 Home to Ultimate (32-bit) and partition, I am not sure if they were the reason.
The following is InsydeFlash log, I searched the error code and find somebody with similar problem here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Systems-and/Pavillion-DV6-3125er-BIOS-UPDATE-Error/t...

  • Satellite 1400-103: Cannot access the BIOS Setup

I'm having problems getting into the BIOS setup. At the 1st bootup screen I press ESC key then message appears Check system. Then press F1 key. Once key is pressed it doesn't take me to BIOS setup and laptop reboots. Any help will be much appreciated.
    James

No it doesn't. There is a problem with the OS and I was gonna do a repair using an XP disk. I have been trying to boot from cd rom by pressing C button and I've also tried pressing F12 key to change boot device. The teacher whose laptop it is has put a bios password on bootup but I'm assuming this shouldn't affect bootup or accessing the bios setup. I'm not sure if it's a supervisor password or administrator password.

I just noticed this perhaps after having my PC for 3 years. I don't know when this problem started but I need it fixed. Also I don't know how to Flash the Bios so please give me some instructions.

    there is no updates.
only GOP UEFI vbios is available, attached below if you wanna flash it
     220.rar (114.95 kB - downloaded 10 times.)
    for flash guide:
    Quote
Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash

  • Statellite C850-F0055 F12 key doesnt access Bios setup

Statellite C850-F0055 was failing to boot.it was saying check media (fail).
i then change the boot from normal to fast boot.Since then, its saying
"NO bootable device---- please restart system"
When i press F12 key at booting it doesnt bring the bios setup.
how do i change it back to normal from fast boot so it can bring bios setup. please help.

    >When i press F12 key at booting it doesnt bring the bios setup.
This is wrong key. You have to press F2 in order to access the BIOS.
By the way: even if the fast boot would be enabled, the unit should find the HDD and should be able to boot up the Windows system. So I guess its not a problem with the fast boot switch but probably the HDD isnt OK.
I recommend you to access the BIOS (F2) and to check if HDD is visible on the first BIOS page.

  • Problem with new MSI GTX660Ti N660TI-PE-2GD5/OC

Hi , I've just bought a new MSI GTX660Ti GPU from amazon , i was previously running the on board HD4000 graphics from the Intel I7 3770K CPU.
When i plug the new GPU in and reboot - i get the 'GIGABYTE' splash screen on my monitor , and it just hangs there -I am unable to enter any of the options and pressing DEL , F8 , F12 etc gives no response.
I've installed all the drivers , and i simply switch off the PC , installed the graphics card , take the DVI cable out of the mobo socket and plug it into the GPU socket then switch on.
The bios beeps once , the display remains frozen on the splash screen for about 3 minutes , then another single beep from the bios and   the display remains frozen on the splash screen for another4 or 5 minutes , then eventually the screen goes black , with just a single flashing underscore. No keyboard inputs make any difference.
re-booting just gives the same result.
BIOS settings are all at default  Including >  Init Display First - Auto , Internal Graphics - Auto
So , is there something that i'm doing wrong or is the new graphics card DOA ?
    Please help

  • Problems with BIOS setup in Supervisor Mode

QuestionI can't seem to change any of my BIOS settings - even though at one point I had set a bootup password.
If I press the Access IBM mode and F1 consecutively, I can enter the BIOS Setup. Yet it seems that I can't change anything - not even date or time. All menus say "If any items require changes, please consult your system Supervisor." on the right, but who would that be?
In all (sub)menus, up/down buttons have no effect, all else beep, only Esc works. Just in long menus, such as Config/Power, do up/down have some effect: They scroll, but won't select anything. In the Restart menu, I can only confirm "Exit Discarding Changes" but choose none of the other options.
AnswerTo unlock the BIOS, power off your laptop or system, then switch it on again.
Press F1 when you see the message about pressing the Access IBM button, and enter the Supervisor password, followed by the Power On password, if they are different.
Tip: If your bootup password is more than seven characters long, type only the first seven to acces Supervisor mode.

Where do i get a password from?

  • Accessing RAID BIOS Setup on K7N2 Delta-ILSR

    Dear All,
OK, OK, OK, so the message title does not make much sense... I wanted to include all the useful words.
I have a brand new motherboard, as above and I have put a drive onto IDE 3 (yes, you can do this - just have one drive on the SATA RAID, I have found that much out - it is described as a 0+1 RAID set) and I want to set it up to work!
All that happens at the moment, is that the SATA BIOS scans the channels for the RAID and does not find it. Then it goes on, saying that the BIOS is not installed.
I am supposed to press Ctrl-F to go into the BIOS setup, but when I do this, it ignores me - have tried pressing from just after the POST and I have tried resetting the BIOS, to no avail!
In the manual, it says that when you start the machine up first time, it will tell you to press Ctrl-F to go into the setup or Esc to continue. I cannot believe that you can ONLY setup the SATA once, at first startup?
If it is ONLY at first startup, then when is the definition of "first startup"? I have tried all things to reset the motherboard and they do not work:
    1. Shutting down the machine
    2. Removing the power supply connectors
    3. Reset the BIOS w/J11
    4. Removing the backup battery
    5. Removing the backup battery and resetting the BIOS w/J11
    6. Removing memory
    7. Removing drive cables
    8. Reflashing the BIOS
    Anyone got any other ideas?
    Thank you all, in advance.
    Leni

    Thanks for the help, guys...
The RAID setup was OK. I was advised to backup all the data on the drive before doing this, which I did. I just used "Auto" to include this drive as an ordinary drive on IDE 3. After, I had a look at the drive and nothing seemed to be different. I have used a RAID card (it was cheap) - HPT370 - as an ordinary IDE card and that was a bit simpler. The HPT370 just scans and finds the required drives and they are there.
Incidentally, I did look at the diag's on the top of the drive and I do not remember it saying anything about differences between Master and Single drives. No harm done(except losing 4 hours of MY LIFE)!
Incidentally, drunken_rice I am not using the RAID as a bootup drive. Although I did not lose any data myself, I would suggest that you backup your data before adding your drive into the RAID (I was advised of this before) - just in case!

    Leni
