N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC No Video signal at install

I am having the Same Problem...
I received my custom built Maingear Shift pc with no issue other that they sent it with a PNY GTX660ti installed instead of the Msi GTX660ti PE that I specifically ordered.  So they sent me the correct gpu under a RMA, the Msi N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC came to me 3 days ago.   I replaced the (working) PNY 660card with the Msi 660card and No Video Signal.   Every attempt to reseat or troubleshoot this has ended with still no signal and an apparent 'DOA' card.  I may have to RMA this one thru Maingear Support and have them send another...  just wanted you to know your not alone with this issue

you should follow what i told you
i didn't expected the card to be detected when you install it in the second slot.
but you should be able to save/write his vbios,
which we can use it to reflash it to legacy vbios and then it should works.
Well, I expected the card to work outta the box.   I am not a 'techy' and have no idea what your talking about, and the warnings for vbios flash make me uncomfortable.  That may sound funny to you because in your experience it's probably a 'piece of cake'.  But, regardless,  I know my field of expertise and it has nothing to do with computers.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the help and if I didn't have a working pny660 card I would probably force myself to do what your asking,  but right now I feel more comfortable waiting on the RMA at the moment (unless you send me more specific step by step 'dummy' flash instructions then what I read on your nvflash download page).   Thanks

  • MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC no video on boot-up until multiple tries

Hi, I'm really glad I found this forum, it seems like a lot of people are able to get help
    S/N: 602-V284-09SB1208041275
Uploaded ROM of my VBIOS: htxp://speedy.sh/Wd6P6/GK104.rom
On bootup, the monitor does not detect any video signal (however the keyboard does respond). I have to do a hard shut down (hold power button) and then power up again until I get a video signal. This takes 2-4 tries.
After the video signal is sent successfully, I am able to use my computer with no problems (gaming, running stress tests, FurMark, passes diagnostics, etc.). I can even restart it. It's just that if I shut down, the next time I boot up I won't get a video signal. So as a workaround, I leave my computer on.
    I tried:
    1. Using HDMI instead of DVI.
    2. Different monitor.
    3. Different PSU cables.
    4. Installing the newest version of motherboard BIOS and NVIDIA drivers.
    5. On-board graphics worked fine.
    6. Rosewill said it could be my PSU, so they RMA'd it.
    7. Different video card from my friend, PNY GTX 275 896MB, worked fine.
    8. My friend put my video card in his tower and it didn't send the video signal once. But, he powered off and every time he's tried since then it's worked fine...? (only difference he can think of is his motherboard only support PCI Express 2)
I appreciate any help! I'll be really happy to finally figure out what's causing this problem.

    go for dos version then
Nothing seems to happen when I try nvflash from DOS. I just get a blinking cursor after I enter the nvflash -4 -5 -6 201.ROM command.
I created a bootable USB drive and copied over the nvflash DOS files (nvflash.exe and cwsdpmi.exe) and the 201.rom. I boot into the USB and get the DOS prompt. I typed dir to verify the files where there. Then I typed nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 201.rom and hit Enter. A blinking cursor appears on the next line. After 5 minutes, I hit the Pause Break key on my keyboard... nothing. I hit Ctrl+c... nothing. So I ended up restarting by pressing ctrl+alt+del, and I could boot to Windows fine.
I tried booting to USB and using the command various ways and it's always the cursor: nvflash -4 -5 -6 201.rom (just nvflash instead of nvflash.exe), nvflash -5 -6 201.rom (because it looks like -4 isn't a command any more), creating and running a .bat file that contained nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 201.rom.
In fact, it doesn't seem like nvflash works at all. I also get the blinking cursor if I type nvflash -a or nvflash ?

  • N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC: No Video Output

There appears to be a major incompatibility with my graphics card and power supply. I have RMA'ed this video card once and my power supply twice. I do not believe my motherboard is at fault because I can successfully run other combinations of video cards and power supplies. Here are my specs:
    BOARD: GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H, BIOS vF14
VGA: MSI N660 Ti PE 2GD5/OC, BIOS v80.04.4b.00.16
    PSU: SeaSonic X750 Gold
    CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
    MEM: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB F3-1600C9D-8GAB
HDD: Kingston HyperX 3K 120 GB
    Any advice?

the card should works fine with this vbios version
    ask mainboard vendor about it.
test the card in another PC, if you doubt in the card
I do not doubt the video card, but I do doubt its compatibility with my power supply. I have run the following tests:
My motherboard + my video card + different power supply = success
My motherboard + different video card + my power supply = success
Different motherboard + my video card + different power supply = success
Different motherboard + different video card + my power supply = success
My motherboard + my video card + my power supply = failure
From these results, it definitely seems like there is something wrong with the MSI N660 Ti PE 2GD5/OC and SeaSonic X750 Gold. I am on my third SeaSonic X750 Gold after two RMAs. At this point, I do not think there was actually anything wrong with the PSUs I returned.
I am a computer programmer without a computer. I have been dealing with RMAs from SeaSonic and MSI for over 2 months now without any results or answers. Can you help explain this?

  • N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC video tearing

When watching videos I experience horrible video tearing with my new msi 660ti.
I filmed my monitor and then took a screen shot of the problem
Note: This is mpc-hc with video tearing test enabled (the red bars) makes screen tearing easier to see, but its noticeable with normal watching.
    I've tried...
both DVI ports on two different monitors.
    several different types of renderers
    EVR
    VMR7/9
    Haali renderer
(overlay or a renderer with D3D enabled seem less prone to problems)
    tried MPC-hc and MPC
Installed the latest drivers 306.02 that came out 2012.08.27
Most importantly though, I installed my old GTS 450 and the problems go away, even with the newer 306.02 driver that isn't for the 450 gts. I re-installed the latest 301.42 drivers for the 450 and its still fine.
I reinstalled the 660ti, went into safe mode and removed the driver and reinstalled 306.02..... tearing.

  • MSI N660TI PE 2GD5/OC DirectX Error

I've bought the MSI N660TI PE 2GD5/OC 3 weeks ago and use it together with below hardware. I've tried installing all drivers from MSI (including the latest one released begin July), but keep having the same problem. After I installed the driver I can play games just fine. But when I shutdown the PC and start it up the next day (haven't tried it the same day so far) and play Battlefield 3, I get an error message somewhere between the 15 and 60 minutes and the game hangs. Only thing I can do is CTRL+ALT+DEL and select Task Manager so it goes back to Windows and then shutdown the game by clicking right mouse button on the game and select Close.
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed commands.. GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti", Driver 32018
I can't figger out where the error comes from. I've read some posts which say that uninstalling MSI Command Center should solve the problem, but that didn't help for me.

If you need anymore information, please let me know! Thank you in advance.

I've tried the MSI drivers who came with the video card (the 306.97, which you can also download from the website). Also I've tried the following drivers from NVIDIA itself: 320.49, 320.18, 314.22 and the 310.90, for all drivers it was the WHQL version.
I haven't tried another videocard except for the onboard Intel HD4600 and that worked fine (even though I had to downgrade the graphics a bit, but that's understandable).
My old computer is to small for this videocard and haven't had time to test it at a friend of mine. But he has the exactly same card purchased at the same store. He has Z77-G45 motherboard, i5 3670K CPU and some older memory. I've installed my operating system from a USB device from him, so that's the same to. I also tried the same drivers as him (forgot which drivers this exactly was), but didn't work.
I forgot to mention it before, but I'm running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

  • Problem with new MSI GTX660Ti N660TI-PE-2GD5/OC

Hi , I've just bought a new MSI GTX660Ti GPU from amazon , i was previously running the on board HD4000 graphics from the Intel I7 3770K CPU.
When i plug the new GPU in and reboot - i get the 'GIGABYTE' splash screen on my monitor , and it just hangs there -I am unable to enter any of the options and pressing DEL , F8 , F12 etc gives no response.
I've installed all the drivers , and i simply switch off the PC , installed the graphics card , take the DVI cable out of the mobo socket and plug it into the GPU socket then switch on.
The bios beeps once , the display remains frozen on the splash screen for about 3 minutes , then another single beep from the bios and   the display remains frozen on the splash screen for another4 or 5 minutes , then eventually the screen goes black , with just a single flashing underscore. No keyboard inputs make any difference.
re-booting just gives the same result.
BIOS settings are all at default  Including >  Init Display First - Auto , Internal Graphics - Auto
So , is there something that i'm doing wrong or is the new graphics card DOA ?
    Please help

  • Prepurchase question for: N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC

I am very interested in buying an MSI video card (N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC) but I want to be 100% sure it has a VBIOS that supports UEFI GOP for fast booting with my MSI Z77A-GD65.  I have been reading topics on here and it sounds like it might ship with a UEFI GOP compatible VBIOS or there might be a beta BIOS available.
The BIOS download page: www msi com/product/vga/N660Ti-PE-2GD5-OC.html#?div=BIOS alludes to a this video card having a "hybrid" BIOS.  Does that means UEFI GOP + legacy support?
    Thanks for your help.

Quote from: xmad on 08-December-12, 09:44:40
It should ship with GOP drivers, if it doesn't we can get you the vbios to flash. No worries.
Make sure to flash you mainboard bios to the most recent, if you ask when you are ready, I can prepare an archive so that it flashes the me extension as well.
Sweet!  And thanks xmad.  My Z77A-GD65 is flashed with the latest already.  I'll put my order in soon and see how it goes.

Do I not have enough power in this PSU to run what I have? The video manufacturer suggests a 450W PSU, which I meet, but do I not have enough juice the 12V rails? And would this cause the no signal? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello, welcome to forum.

have you tried with one of them only into 1st PCI-E? use 1st DVI output, when using SLI, ensure SLI bridge is configured property, connect monitor to VGA onto 1st PCI-E slot. also check monitor output is configured property(etc: Input 1, Input 2).
power down PC, remove power cord from the PSU and Clear CMOS Guide
    re-test.
ensure all power cables are connected property. try to boot with one memory stick only into slot close to CPU socket.
    what D-bracket shows?

yes, think is too weak for your system
its recommended to get single rail with high amperes on +12V (over 30A)

  • Solutions for displaying s-video signal on Macbook Pro? (2006 model)

I looking around for ways to display an s-video signal on my Macbook Pro, but i've no idea the best way to this.
I'm not really after capturing or recording the signal, but I just need a means that I can view the signal, and to be able to switch to another program running on the Macbook. (switch back and forth from Mac app to viewing s-video signal)
Ive seen a few products but they look overblown for what I really need to do like the Elgato video capture, and the xlr8 provideo usb devices.
Is there a way that I could use the DVI socket on the Macbook? I have seem its possible to display the Macbook signal on an external display using this socket, but can it be used to take an input signal?
    Message was edited by: jauqq
Technical note of what I exactly need this for: I have an old Roland sampler which can be used with an external monitor to aid in its editing. The outputs on the sampler are s-video and digital RGB. So that I dont have to buy an old bulky monitor I want to use my Macbook display for this while I also am running Logic Pro 8 at the same time. And to switch from Logic, to the displayed signal from the sampler.

The DVI out on your MacBookPro cannot be used for input. In order to see the s-video signal on your MBP display you will need an analog-digital converter like the Canopus ADVC-55, plus you will need to run software. You may be able to use iChat A/V, although I haven't tried it for this purpose. It will cost you more than the Elgato eyeTV device, however.
You will find it much easier & cheaper if you just get an inexpensive LCD display to use with your Roland sampler.

  • No video signal on projector (Lion, MacBook Pro)

    Hi guys
since I've update to Lion (10.7.2),  I have problems getting a video signal via mini-DVI / VGA to certain projectors. I'm using a Mac Book Pro (end of 2008). I have never encountered similar problem with previous versions of Mac OS X. Restarting the MacBook or the projector doesn't help. Does anybody have an idea what to do?
    Thanx
    fweth

I also update to Lion from 10.6.8.. My Dell 3300MP projector worked fine with Snow Leopard. Then with Lion, there is occassionally scrambled signal, but most of the time no signal.. Tried restarting projector, restarting computer, turning mirroring off and then on, but no help. I am running an early 2011 13" MBP.. Really frustrating for someone who does lots of presentations and teaching.

  • How can I get my 2010 mac book pro to send signal out through the mini display port?                      end signal out through the end video signal out through the

How can I get my 2010 macbook pro to send signal out through the mini display port?

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black, blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

  • How do I get a video signal to an external monitor via the mini-display port on my Mac Book Air?

I can't get a video signal out through my mini-display port on my Mac Book Air (version 1).  Thus I can't feed BBC iPlayer to an external monitor.  There is some connectivity - the MAC wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible and sound is transferred.  Is it likely to be a cable connection problem (though the cable works with a Windows operating laptop)?

  • Video signaling problem caused by 1.9, 2.0 BIOS (pointing out a BIOS problem)

Hi, i have a problem with the video signal. At random times when i boot up my computer, the computer would power up but there is no signal to the monitor. there is no hdd activity (via the hdd led) and nothing seems to be happening just that the fans are whirring. i have to unplug the computer then plug it again then turn it up again which sometimes repeats the problem. This is very irritating! So i did a little bit of troubleshooting:
    1. I changed video cards. I used a SAPPHIRE ati radeon 9600XT fireblade and a LEADTEK GF4 ti4200. Both cards were causing the same problem and when i used both cards to another computer, there is no problem. = NOT A video card problem
    2. used differnt kinds of drivers Cat 3.10, 4.10, 4.20 (omega and official) does not seem to do anything (which also i believe the drivers are OS dependent and its the bios of the vid card that starts up the vid card)
    3. upgraded from 1.9 to 2.0 BIOS. still the same problem
    4. reverted from 2.0 to 1.7 BIOS. the problem ended.
    BTW, the board is 865PE-Neo2 - S. on a Intel 2.6Ghz C, 512MB TwinMos ram with m-tec chips, 80gb hdd, enermax 300w psu
so ive' solved the problem, and i just wanted to point out that there is a problem with 1.9, 2.0 BIOS. (havnt tried the 1.8 tho)

Wish I had seen this thread 2 weeks ago, but you did save me from buying a new graphics card.  That was the last step (before chucking this mobo completely) in my attempts to fix the same problem.  It didn't bother me too much, except I also couldn't get any DVD player (tried 3) to work.  Would boot sometimes and at others gave a blue screen video error.
Flashing to bios 1.7 was the only thing that fixed it.  Tried different memory, updating software, various combinations of drives, etc.  For the record I tried bios 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, and 2.1.  Not sure what about those updates causes problems but there definitely is something wrong.
    Thanks.

  • HP w2207 Monitor - "No Video Signal" After Power Outage

My mother has a Mac Mini - 2009 model - that I bought her. It is connected to an HP w2207 monitor I used to have with a mini-display port to DVI [I think, either that or VGA] adaptor. She lives 2 1/2 hours away.
Last week there was a power outage and ever since she cannot get her system to work. Her monitor says "No Video Signal" and then goes to sleep.
I worked with her for over an hour on the phone trying to fix this problem (oh what fun). Tried every combination of things I know to fix it. It seems from her description that the Mac Mini is not actually booting. When I have her turn the computer off by (press the power button, wait, press it again), she reports that she will here the disk drive spin up for 10 seconds but then no more activity. The green light is on, but that is it.
I had her reset the SCM, but that didn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Bryan

See if the Mini will boot from the install disk. If it does, have your mom use Disk Utility to repair her internal hard drive. Repeat running repair until Disk Utility gives the disk a clean bill of health. Then repair permissions.
Disk Warrior can sometimes repair things Disk Utility can't. However, it's possible the internal directory is beyond help. In that case, erasing the internal disk and reinstalling the system will be necessary. It's also possible that the disk itself or electronic components in the Mini have been damaged which would require repair at the Mac hospital.
You might want to consider buying your mom a UPC.

  • Video signal lost on launch of iTunes (after "update")

I just (foolishly) "updated" to the most recent version of itunes.  And, surprise surprise, a headache has ensued.  I am using a mac mini hooked into a TV via HDMI (the setup is mac mini ---> receiver ---> TV).  After the itunes update, Weirdly, when I launch itunes, the video signal gets lost.  The application appears to start without any problems at first, but 10-20 seconds after launching, my TV goes black.  I've never encountered a problem like this before (I've had my mini hooked to my TV in this setup for some time.)  Any thoughts on how to try to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.  (If only I had this computer on time machine, I would go back an hour and all my problems would be solved.)

I had the same problem after installing Snow Leopard.
But now it seems magically fixed after updating to 10.6.2
