If you need any other information, please let me know.
    Thanks!

    Use >>this<<
Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.

  • MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC minimum fanspeed

I have a question about the MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC videocard. What is the minimum percentage the fan can be set (without modifying the bios)? And at which RMP are the fans running at in that case?

For anyone who is interested, MSI gave me these answers:
    "40% is the minimum."
"At minimum 40% the Fan RPM will be around 1000 range."
But from someone who ows the card I got the following answers:
The minimum is 35% in Afterburner and the will spin at 1260/1290RPM.

Some time ago i did a request for my first card (worked perfect), but since my MSI motherboard crashed and i'm currently running on a ASUS P8Z77-V PRO motherboard i had to reinstall my gpu and i added a second (Both MSI). Could you please verify if i need a new Vbios for fast boot? and if that is the case, do i need to flash both of my card? for better stability or anything?
Here's my vbios on both cards: Code: [Select]

Can you tell me, if there is a newer BIOS version ? And that brings improvements, if more stable ? ( cheange notes )

That's useless. Save current vbios to file using GPU-Z and upload it to some file hoster. Add link to file here. Also add S/N of cards.
You do not need all this, I just wondered, if a newer BIOS revision.
I just need to know if the version I have installed is the latest or not.
Why you want to know my serial number, and see my bios to a file, I'm telling you what my version Bios.

  • N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC runs only in PCIe X16 1.1 Mode

    Hi Forum,
GPU-Z shows me that my GPU runs only in PCIe X16 1.1 Mode. The System is a quite new Dell Precision T7910 with Intel C612 Chipset. A Quadro 4000 cards runs like designed in PCIe 2.0 Mode. In the next Slot it runs in PCIe x4 2.0, because its electrical x4 only. The GTX 680 runs there in PCIe 1.1 x4.
The strange thing is, if i start GPU-Z directly after boot, it show the card is PCIe 3.0 running in PCIe 1.1, some seconds later screen gets black for a part of a second, than its PCIe 1.1 running @ PCIe 1.1 .
    Any  Ideas ?

REmove nvidia drivers in safemode using >>Driver Fusion<< or similar driver removal tool. After reboot install current nvidia driver.
If no luck >>Clear CMOS<< of the board and retry.

  • MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC GOP vbios

    Hello everybody,
I have 3 GTX 680 graphics cards in my system, I would very much like to be able to use the fast boot features that are supported with Windows 8 (my motherboards supports it). However at the moment my graphics cards aren't compatible.
Therefore I would like it if I could get GOP compatible vbioses for my cards.
These are the serial numbers an vbios files, from what I've read, they are required for this process.

  • R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC - Flickering problem

    Hi all!
I have a problem that many seems to have with the 7850 card (Same for different brands) -
When I surf on the net, I get a lot of flickering when scrolling a page. This is the same with all browsers - Firefox, Chrome, IE.
Turning off hardware acceleration in Firefox lessens the problem, but it's still there.
I read on an external page (Not allowed to link) that this is due to low 2D clock speeds.
One user also reported that Gigabyte fixed this with a BIOS update, so I wonder if MSI also have released such a thing?
Btw, tried the workaround with editing the profiles.xml and manually set the clocks higher, which fixed the problem, but this isn't optimal as the clock then works on high load when not needed.
    Thanks in advance!
    /Rigr

Sorry, maybe a little too fast there
    My specs:
OS: Windows 7 Professional (x64) Build 7601, Service Pack 1
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V Pro Intel Z7 (BIOS version 0906)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 2x4GB (Profile set to: XMP 800.0 MHz)
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K, 3400 MHz (Using "Standard" mode)
PSU: Corsair Power Supply 750W HX ATX
    GPU:MSI Radeon R7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC 2GB
HDD #1: WDC WD2500KS-00MJB0 250 GB (OS is installed here)
    HDD #2: WDC WD5000AAKS-75TMA0 500 GB
    DVD-ROM: ATAPI DVD D DH16D2S
    To clarify the error report:
Everything works perfect except for web surfing where I get strange millisecond long flickers/flashes, when scrolling a page.
If I check the AMD OverDrive, then I can see that the core speed is 150MHz, and the RAM speed is 300MHz as minimum and then goes higher when I scroll a page. And as I wrote, if i manually change those values in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\profiles .xml" to work for example in 700Mhz as minimum, then the problem is gone, but with the cost that the clocks works on too high values for what's actually needed when the system is idle.

  • Random freeze on boot with MSI R7870 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC PCIe

    Hello everyone,
I have an issue with my MSI R7870 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC PCIe graphics card. Sometimes, on boot (before getting to BIOS, I guess during GFX BIOS, if that's a thing anymore in the computing world) the GPU fans will spin at a considerable speed (noisy, I'd say 70-100%) and the system will refuse to boot. I could reproduce this around 5 to 6 times, and always during cold boots. After this happens, rebooting or powering off and on will not work, I'll need to cut off all power (PSU switch) and cold-boot again.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot!
