N70 - Changing Message Memory

Cheers All.
I've N70 and got couple of problems, hoping for some positive replies. I'll list out my problems below.
I can't update my Phone Software, while using Nokia Software Update, the download never goes beyond 2-3%, mind you my Internet speed is fairly good, 512 Kbps. Why doesn't Nokia provide a separate downloadable file which can be installed??
Most importantly, I can't seem to change my Message Memory from "Phone Memory" to "MMC". It just never changes. When I try to change, it gives a message "Changing message memory" and does nothing. For doing so, I go to Messages > Options > Settings > Other > Memory In Use. I wud just format my memory card and start reusing it from scratch, but I have some very important memories stored in it, which I can't afford to lose. Songs, Photos etc stored in MMC are accessible without a problem.

how many messages stored in your mem card?
as i know, you cant change message memory whenever there's an application lock the media. for example, fontrouter. if you installed it in memory card you will not be able to change from mem card to phone memory. some resident applications might be also give symptoms like that
mm...i did also experienced few days ago in my N73, i cant change the message memory though fontrouter was already installed in phone memory. i found the problem, my phone stored too many messages (3500+). n i had to delete many of them til only 2000 using Symbian SDK (coz i need to make a backup first and copy the mail folder to my PC).

i bought nokia 3500 2 dayz back and im having problemz with changing the message memory from phone to my memory card... cuz it only hav 8 mb internal in wich 3 mb z already in use cuz of system files, and plus i recieve many msgz n i dont wana delete them so plzzzzz help me out tell me the way 2 change my msg memory to my memory card... and also i dnt see any option of messaging in standby mode i mean i can choose inbox or new txt msg but not the whole message menu with all the optionz like inbox,sent itemz,draft n etc.

No Nokia phone will store SMS on a memory card, especially not S40 phones like the 3500.
S60 phones can make a copy of the messages to the memory card for back-up purposes only, but the messaging functionality always remains on the phone memory.

Database changed or Memory Unavailable Error in Album

Hi -
I had updated my XZ1 to 4.4.2. In the Album, there is an option Faces (which detects the faces) and asks to add names. So when I try to add name I get the message "Database Changed or Memory unavailable". The other problem I am facing is that my Camera storage was earlier on SD card. I still can see the photos on SD card thru the File Commander. The Album is not showing any of those photos but it shows the album art from my media folder. I am thinking both are connected in the sense that it has the cache of faces somewhere (I cleared data and cache multiple times) but it is not recognising the actual photo database for some reason so it is not able to write the name information (When I select the name option) to the actual photos.
Any suggestions..

Hi,
I suggest that you try to clear data for album and media storage under settings > apps > all > album/media storage > clear data. Restart the phone and wait for the phone to index all media files again.

N70 - Not Enough Memory Delete some data first

Hi,
Could someone please help with a problem that i am having with N70. Messages Empty(All Folders) and no images or media files on the phone memory, al applications also are on the Memory card(1GB and 3/4th of it is free). But still i am getting this message of "Not Enough Memory to eprform the Operation. Delete some data first". Could someone please advise what i could do to resolve this, as now i do not have any log of Calls(missed, rec, dialled), no incoming messages etc.

How to change size memory for an application under Classic ?

When I ask informations on my OS 9 application under OS X.4.4, I can no more change size memory ! I can no more use my application with Classic... ???

ROYCH: This is partly guesswork, but I think it may explain why your problem occurs.
When OS X is controlling your computer (as it always does on a Mini), the file Type and Creator attributes that OS 9 uses to identify different kinds of files are not used. OS X ignores them in files that have them. Files that are only used by OS X don't have them at all. When you create a new application in Classic mode under OS X, those attributes may not be assigned to it, so the new application may not have any.
But if you copy the new application to a computer running OS 9, and those attributes are missing, the OS 9 computer will have no idea what sort of file it is. OS 9 won't even know it's an application. To prevent that, I'm guessing that OS X somehow builds clues into the file that enable OS 9 to identify it as an application, and to give it the Type attribute APPL. I believe any file in OS 9 that has that Type attribute will display the Memory menu item in its Get Info window — not only in OS 9, but in OS X. So after you copy your compiled application onto a computer running OS 9 and then back onto your Mini, it has the APPL attribute, and the Memory item is available in its Get Info box.
I have one application, File Buddy, that can (among many other abilities) display and edit the OS 9 Type and Creator attributes of any file while running in OS X. It can be used to assign specific Type and Creator attributes to a file that has none. You could use it to assign the appropriate Type and Creator attributes to your compiled applications while you are running OS X. After you do so, maybe they will display the Memory menu item in their OS X Get Info boxes.
If this works, File Buddy can apply the same changes in Type and Creator to a whole folder full of files at once. That would be an easy way for you to accomplish the same thing for several compiled applications instantly, without having to copy them to a computer running OS 9.
I don't create applications, so I can't test this procedure to see whether it works. I will be interested to hear what happens if you experiment with File Buddy.
But after saying all this, I really have no idea whether the message you're seeing about insufficient memory is meaningful or spurious. You may go through the whole rigmarole of changing the memory allocation for your compiled applications, only to find that doing so still doesn't enable you to open them. I'll be interested to hear whether that's true, too. Good luck.

Can Logic 7 filter out select Control Change messages?

I've got a Tascam US-428 that has gone rogue and is sending out random control change messages - a huge number of them. They are all within the range of CC 64-71 and all are on channel 16. Is there some way that I can filter these out so that Logic just ignores them?
Just for fun yesterday I left a blank song up with the US-428 turned on and it ran out of memory in under thirty minutes. That's a lot of useless data that I need to live without.

If anyone has a similar problem with a Tascam US-428 I'd be interested to know whether it's failing or if this is a just a 'design feature.' It seems to be sending way too many messages from the channel faders.

How to change Virtual Memory in Windows 7 with SSD and 16GB RAM

I have SSD Samsung 850Pro with OS Windows 7 and have installed physical RAM 16GB.
In Adobe Help/Optimize performance/Photoshop written :
" To change Virtual Memory in Windows 7 and Vista, quit all applications and then do the following:
Choose Start > Control Panel, and double-click System.
Choose Advanced System Settings in the Tasks list.
Select the Advanced tab and click Settings in the Performance section.
Select the Advanced tab and click Change.
Deselect Automatically Manage Paging File Size For All Drives.
Click each hard disk letter to show the available space on that drive. Select a hard drive that has three times the amount of your computer’s installed RAM and doesn’t contain a scratch disk.
Select Custom Size, and type the amount of your physical RAM plus 300 MB in the Initial Size box. Type three times the amount of your computer’s installed RAM into the Maximum Size box.
Click Set, and then click OK. Continue to click OK to exit all dialog boxes.

I have 16GB RAM
in the Initial Size box : 16384+300=16684MB
in the Maximum Size box:16684x3=50052MB
but in the description of SSD written :
" In order to address any potential lack of memory capacity, the Windows operating system automatically generates a block of virtual memory (pagefile.sys) on the C: drive. For example, a Windows® 7 64-bit system with 4 GB of physical memory would generate 4 GB of virtual memory at boot time.

Today, with PCs featuring 4 GB of memory or more, it is possible to reduce or even eliminate the use of virtual memory. Windows set to default virtual memory : 16348 MB =16GB !
But SSD program Samsung Magician wants virtual memory between in the Initial Size Box :200MB and in the Maximum Size box: 2048MB or 4096MB. If more than 8GB suggests that SSD will work slowly.
Perhaps the description in Adobe execution Help / Optimize / Photoshop is not correct or ?

"Blackberry message memory is full!" when it's not - please help!

I wonder if anyone could help me please. I have a Curve 9360 (OS 7.1.0.336) that I've only owned for a few months. About a week ago, out of the blue, I started to get the message: "Blackberry message memory is full! Please delete some sms messages". I know the memory isn't full for three reasons -
Firstly because I have plenty of memory left on the phone;
Secondly because I can send as many messages as I want and make them as long as I want - so I am actually increasing the overall amount of messages. The message only pops up when I try to receive a message, and only by deleting received messages will it let another one through;
Thirdly because I can, for example, delete a text message that is 1 message long (in the first 160 characters) and receive one that is 7 messages long (the limit for blackberry sms). So in this sense I am also actually using more memory.
This seems like a glitch to me, but I have no idea how/why it arose, or any idea how to fix it.
I have tried a battery pull, which didn't do anything.

The SMS message number was at 9976 when this warning first started appearing, which confirms what I was saying about this not being a lack of memory issue.
Prince2012, thank you for your welcome and replying. I had already checked that "Leave messages on SIM card" was unticked. And yes, deleting unwanted messages is how I'm getting by at the moment, but it's not solving the problem.

Change Message Control for Customer Master data

When u click this it goes into Change View "message control by User" Overview screen wherein u can insert new messages and texts and the type of message ....
Now .....
I want to display the 145th message (F4 help of the Message column) ..... it picks up the text "Customer found with same address;check"..... with Online mesasage type 'I' and batch type 'I' and with standard type '-' ..
I want to have the same message with message types 'E','E', and 'I' respectively.......
How is this possible (or) what should i do to meet my requirement :-|

Nokia Messaging memory usage

Hello,
Couple of points related to Nokia Messaging
memory usage. Nokia Messaging stores, by default, 2kb of each message
on the device. Even if you have hundreds of emails, they don't take up
much space until you start getting into attachments.
The
deleted items folder in Nokia Messaging does not clear itself
automatically in this release, so if you've been deleting a lot of
emails on the device and are encountering issues with memory, go into
that folder and choose options to empty it.
We are
investigating the memory consumption on the N97 with Nokia Messaging,
as some of you have reported. The reason we don't offer message
storage on the memory card is that removing of the memory card with the
messages stored on there could cause some serious issues with correctly
syncing your email.
We do hear you on the calls for
storage somewhere other than the C drive. The amount of space that the
emails should take up on your device is minimal, but we are open to
feedback and fixing problems as they arise.

As netoak stated in the above post. My problem with N97 is the same, I have a number of applications that needs to be installed on (E) Mass Storage. By running these applications and have a message comes through. Be it, text, picture, multimedia, it will get stored on the phone memory which eventually gets full and can only be deleted as it cannot be copied or moved (connect to PC back up, delete original from phone memory and then restore from PC to Mass Storage is a royal joke) to Mass Storage.
What good is a flagship phone that meant to be rich for multimedia when a couple of e-mails or messages with attachments will render it's useless.
So if these issues below are not looked at I'm soon to trade my N97 in for something else, and neither are my friends and family going to get N97 because they already know that their non-N97 phones works fine and mine is having loads of issues.
Surely these can be fixed in the next major update of your firmware?
- Functionality to copy or move selected message from C to E. We're jumping through hoops just to do the most simplest of tasks like moving messages. Inability to move messages and e-mails between these two storage locations is really, really, 1990's and not mobile computer as Nokia trying claim N97 is.
- Settings to be persistent that messages go to E when stuff on E are being used.

About the warning about changes message.

Hi all,
There is a messageChoice on the page,and the messageChoice must fire an action.But if the action is fired,then I click on the other tab or link, warning about changes message will not occur and directly farward to the other page.Is that possible that popup the warning about changes message after the messageChoice's event was fired ?

PO confirmation creates PO change message

Hi.
I have setup a SRM -> XI ->SUS -> XI -> SRM scenario.
Everything is working fine accept that when the vendor confirms the PO and Sends the SUS PO confirmation the SRM automatically creates a PO change message back to the SUS system.
This causes the PO on SUS to go to "in process" state again.
Any idea why this is happening.
I do see this in the tracking tab under Chnage documents:

Unable to set default message memory to mass memor...

Hi i bought n96 two weeks ago,yesterday i wanted to set mass merroy as default message memory. but it asking to copy all messages tonew memor...i said okthen it asked me to save original messages.. i pressed yes. then it says unable to move messages

As you guys can see, there's no adobe reader when u expand. Also, I already browsed the reader just in case too. Thus expanding doesnt help. =(

"Unsaved Changes" message after some AddNew in Inserted method

A Javascript SaveChange call calls the server side Inserted method.
This is fine.
In the Inserted method, I call some AddNew methods again.
At the end of the execution, when trying to go to some other screen, I get the "Unsaved Changes" message. If I click "Save Change", the server side Inserted method is executed again.
How can I get rid of this "Unsaved Changes" message? And why did I get it?

I believe the problem is that you are trying to use the ServerApplicationContext from within a method exposed by LightSwitch. I don't think you can do that, and better yet, you don't need to because you already have access to the server context from
inside those methods (Inserting, Inserted, Can_Insert, etc.). You can just use the normal api from those methods:

Server Application Context is used to access the server context from outside of LightSwitch exposed methods. For example, you would use the SAC api if you needed to access LS data from inside a web api controller.
When properly using the SAC api from outside of LightSwitch exposed methods,

Change message doen not include few articles

Dear Experts ,
in Sap is retail , I found that some times few articles are not included in change message for no apparent reason for price changes . Otherwise It's working fine .
What can be the reason . Is this related with assortment list reorganisation ?

It´s no possible change 2000 clients automatically due to network configuration. So that we must change de server...
I think homogeneus system copy is a good advice. So that, is not possible change messager on /etc/services and default profile? I´ve checked SAP Netweaver documentation and I found changing ms server port on JAVA SCS is supported but I can´t find anything about changing the ms port in Abap Central Services.
