N70 Exchange Server Sync

Hi,
I read that Nokia have licensed Activesync to allow business users (e.g. Me) to sync their N70 devices with an MS Exchange Server. Does anyone know what the status is of this? All I can find on Nokia.co.uk is a year-old press release...
In the interim, does anyone know how I can sync my N70 with Exchange?
Thanks in advance...
neil

Nokia has, indeed, licensed the ActiveSync technology to talk directly to Exchange servers. However, no phones with support for it has been released by Nokia yet (in any case, I would look for that support to first appear in Eseries devices like the E61 or E70).
In the meanwhile, you can synchronize with an Exchange server through a local synch with a PC (Outlook) using PC Suite:
http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
A remote (over-the-air, OTA) synchronization is also possible, if you have a, so called, SyncML Server connected to/with your Exchange server.
DataViz is also adding support for S60 devices (like the N70) for their RoadSync product:
http://www.dataviz.com/solutions/enterprise/roadsync/supported_devices.html
Nokia Business Center also allows Exchange server connectivity OTA:

  • Corporate Corporate Exchange server sync contact issue

Corporate Corporate Exchange server sync procedure works as it should except : When I go to Contact Groups menu all of my contacts from the exchange server are now at the top, in the 'Not Assigned' area. For normal contact use this does not seem to be a problem for phone or email. But when I try to set up a group, under 'Corporate', only a random couple of the 671 contacts are available. How can I do a sync so that the contacts appear under 'Corporate' or 'Phone', when in the Group menu, or move them down to this area?
    Thanks in advance for help,

I ended up using the column view trick.  Column view -> sort by email address -> click & delete every "[No email address found]" entry.  In my experience, I've found that just putting in the digital elbow grease takes less time than using things like scripting.
I'm just sad that these things don't get designed well to begin with.  I've got other very basic gripes about the Pre.  I'm told it works much better with a Google account.  I'd love to jump on that bandwagon, but work is using Exchange.  You simply must must must work with Exchange sever since so many big corporations have drunk Bill Gates' Koolaid.  But to provide buggy Exchange compatibility is risky, even moreso when your company's future depends on the success of your current device.
Palm is clearly getting into bed with Google at the expense of Microsoft.  I suppose that's the way I'd go too, but for the time, Palm's buggy Exchange support sets up RIM to keep running the table with Blackberrys.  If they had just done Exchange right, they would have double the sales they have now, and Apple and RIM would really have something to worry about.

  • Get contacts of iPhone (Exchange server sync)

    Hi,
I recently left my old job to start a new one. I have my iPhone setup to syncronize all my emails, contacts and calendars with my old companys Exchange server.
My account on their Exchange server has now been disabled and I no longer have access to my old work PC to export my contacts as a PST.
How can I get my contacts of my iPhone (must be cached I guess) onto my PC so that I can add them onto my local copy of Outlook and then setup my iPhone to syncronize from my personal laptop?
    Best Regards
    Fredrik

No way that I'm aware of, which is how most companies that provide an Exchange account want it. There is not a way to sync contacts being synced over the air direct with a supported address book application on your computer via the iTunes sync process.
You can check if the Exchange contacts synced over the air are available with your iPhone's backup on your computer which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. There are a number of utilities that provide for extracting select data from your iPhone's backup for access on your computer. Here is one.

  • Failed Exchange Server Sync Question

Hi all my exchange server has failed so had to replace it which I have now done but im unsure about the phones. All the users phones still have the contacts and emails on but there Outlooks are effectly blank.
If I sync the phones will I loose all the info on the phone as it will sync with the blank mailbox or will it copy all the items from the phone to the mailbox?
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

Mailboxes and email are completely separate from contacts.
When a connection is reestablished with the Exchange Server, if the same messages on the iPhone that are available in what was the server stored mailboxes with the server that failed are not available with the new server - no backup of the server that failed is available, all messages on the iPhone will be lost. What is available at the server takes priority in this situation.
    The same applies to contacts.

  • Exchange Server Sync issues...

    Hi folks,
I have a problem that has been discussed in abundance right now. How ever, I dare posting it because none of the methods described have helped me to get the exchange stuff running.
I have an iPhone 16 GB 3G with 347 firmware.
An iMac 2,8 Ghz with 10.5.4. and Entourage
    A MacBook 1,83 with 10.5.4. and Entourage
An HTC Kaiser with WindowsMobile 6.1 professional
A Dell Vostro1710 with Windows XP Pro SP2
On all those devices I can access and work with the SBS2003 Exchange Server, except for, drums please: the iPhone.
As I am at the same time the admin of our little Network, I would be able to change all settings, but still I can't get it done. Information so far:
    OWA: https://mail.mycompany.com/exchange
    Server: mail.mycompany.com
    e-mail: [email protected]
    User: Rene
    Password: gofigure
    Domain: mycompany.local
No SSL or other certificates employed.
When I set up the account and enter the information above, a window comes up saying that the certificates on this page could not be verified. I accept this window. Then comes the Dialogue asking for the server, which I enter as above. Then the same window comes up again stating that the certificates could not be verified and again I accept.
Then it says "Account verified" and shows me the choices what I would like to sync with Exchange. As of now I would be happy if it only did e-mail (and I don't want to mess up my main calendar on MobileMe), so I unselect the others.
I click on save and switch to the mail app, which is: right, empty...
It makes no difference if I enter the Username with or without the domain as indicated in gray. It just won't work.
What am I missing here? Since there are apparently plenty of users who can get it to work... And I am now trying for the umpteenth time that even my patience is coming to an End.
    Cheers,
    Rene

    Hi guys,
I, too, am NOT a tech guy though I do administrate a bunch of different networks. I've been reading these forums for the past week or so and are also trying to connect my iPhone 1st gen. to our Exchange server. I haven't succeeded yet but if we put our heads together I think we can accomplish this
First, let's get the details on the "table"
    My setup is like follows:
    - Single server setup (Windows 2003 Standard SP2 / Exchange 2003 SP2)
    - OWA enabled (SSL by GoDaddy)
    - Active Sync (supposedly working)
    - Firewallports opened and NAT configured accordingly
As to my knowledge there seems to be NO "straight-forward" way of configuring an Exchange server, hence all the different setups we've seen on these forums. Something works for some people and some things does not.
Now, for the details we have to put in in the on-screen guide (on the iPhone) the following applies to me (at least I think so):
    E-mail: [email protected]
    User: domain\loginname *
    Password: myPassword
    Server-name-field now present and:
Server: company.com (<-- No HTTP or HTTPS) **
+* Domain name is "something.local" but I've read somewhere that we should use the NETBIOS name. Can't back it up though since I forgot the link.
** I've read more than one place that the server name is the "Active Sync Server" and NOT the OWA (like Entourage) or the FQDN like Outlook+
When entering all of these details I STILL have nothing showing up anywhere (in mail, calendar or contacts). But I see no errors or warnings of any kind.
I've tried to add a new virtual directory in IIS and edit the reg-base ((with no luck) - I've tried to setup the correct permissions on the different virtual directories in IIS (and with no luck). I do, however, think THIS is where the "gold" might be - a good place to start. Permissions of the virtual directories on the ISS.
    What do you guys think?

  • FRG22D Breaks Exchange Server Sync!

Ok so after FRG22D I can no longer connect to exchange or for that matter even set it up again. System FC on setup. So  I called motorola and they told me it was a certerficate issue and would need to be patched but they had no ETA nor did they commit to doing anything about it.
Verizon told me to take the phone to the store and roll back the update. But the store has no way of doing so. So at the moment the only options seem to be the crapy app touch down and pay 20 bucks for it or the slightly better working but REALLY slow roadsync to get my work email and calendar. Who do we need to call at verizon to preasure them to get moto working on this asap?

Surely there are other devices on your company exchange with the capability to use the SD card.

  • 4.4 Update on Maxx breaks Exchange Server sync

Updated the Droid Maxx that I got for work.
Problem is, there's a "security update" that was needed - specifically a corporate requirement for SD card encryption.
Problem is, there's no SD card for this phone.
Corporate will NOT change policy due to legal reasons, especially since other phones still use SD cards.

  • ACT! to Outlook to Exchange Server?

I want to sync my company contacts, which are in ACT! to my exchange server synced Outlook on my Pre.  It appears very easy to set sync preferences in ACT! to Outlook.  I currrently sync Outlook contacts and email to my Pre with no issues through our exchange server.  Does anyone have experience or suggestions?  It seems too easy!!  I've scheduled my first sync from ACT! to Outlook for late tonight.  Thanks for you insights and ideas.

Have you searched the Android Market place? There could be an application that you could download from the Android Application Market. Keep in mind since it's a 3rd party application it's not supported by Verizon Wireless.
    Hope this helps!

  • Daily Problems with Mail Synchronizing with Exchange Server

Our office uses Comcast Business Class Service, which uses 2007 Exchange Servers, for internet access and email. I upgraded my MacPro from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6.2, using the Upgrade DVD. The upgrade process kept my original Leopard Mail settings, which were using POP. At that time, I had not problems with email.
Unfortunately, awhile ago my Mail Preferences became corrupt, and I had to delete them. Upon relaunching Mail, the application wanted to use the new Autosync method to connect to the Comcast Exchange Server. Using POP was not an option.
I must say that I am less than impressed with the way Mail integrates with Exchange Servers. I have daily problems, and experience these problems multiple times per day. When they happen, they slow my email communication down to a crawl; sometimes for as much as an hour.
Specifically, the problem appears to be with Mail's ability (or inability) to properly synchronize with Exchange Servers. I get he spinning pizza icons next to the two Exchange email accounts I have in my Mailboxes source column. Opening the Activity window shows that the synchronizing process has slowed everything down. This results in not being able to send or receive email until the synchronizing is complete. And as I said, that can sometimes take as long as an hour.
Stopping the process in the Activity window does not resolve the issue. Nor does quitting and relaunching Mail. Because the next time Mail attempts to connect to the Exchange Server, it will try to synchronize yet again. The problem has become so chronic, that I often have to resort to using Webmail while waiting of the synchronizing process to complete.
Incidentally, the mailboxes that are synchronizing are empty! I am meticulous about keeping my Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and Trash mailboxes empty at all times. I do not use To-Do's, Notes, or Calendars of any kind on the Exchange Server, so there is no data to even sync!
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a fix? Other email accounts I have, which use POP or IMAP, do not have this issue. There does not appear to be away to abandon the Autosync Mail setup and revert back to POP. If there is, I will do it in a heartbeat.
    Thanks.

Found a solution that works for me. Delete the problem account that's using AutoDiscover to sync with the exchange server. Before doing that, however, you will want to clear out the Inbox, Sent and even Trash folder for that account, as deleting it will remove the messages that currently reside in those folders. Just simply move them to another folder. You can move them back after re-creating the account.
The second step is to re-create the account. Do this as you would normally, and enter in your name, username and password. THE TRICK: Press and hold the Option key when you click Continue. After Mail connects to the server and verifies your account information, you will then have a pull down menu that will allow you to choose Exchange Server, IMAP and POP. Simply select POP or IMAP, then fill out the rest of the fields.
Viola! No more problematic Exchange Server syncing issues.

  • Can I sync my iPhone calendar with exchange server AND ical on my mac ?

I have been happily using my iPhone synced with my Macbook over usb via iTunes.
I have contacts and iCal syncing. I have a number of 'calendars' set up in iCal which allow me to view separate aspects of home and work but they all exist within iCal. iPhone just treats these as colour coded appointments (different colour for each ical calendar)
I really like this set up.
However, I just changed jobs to a firm where they have a hosted outlook exchange set up and I need to use the exchange calendar for work appointments and showing my availability.
I have managed to setup my iPhone to work with the Exchange server for email as well as in apple Mail on my mac. This has all worked fine. However, I hesitated when iPhone asked if i wanted to sync my contacts and calendar. I said no as I was unsure if my private calendar/contacts would be uploaded to the public work area.
In fact it seems that this is the least of my worries:
As I have read on apple support for iPhone:
"Note that after configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account, all existing contact and calendar information on the iPhone or iPod touch is overwritten. Additionally, iTunes no longer syncs contacts and calendars with your desktop computer. You can still sync your iPhone or iPod touch wirelessly with MobileMe services."
So I am really pleased that I didn't let it sync those and wipe out my personal data if that is really true.
But now I am unsure how best to enable myself to view and update the work calendar on exchange.
Also it would be nice to see work contacts on my iPhone.
    Contacts
    - although i have said no to sync contacts with Exchange in fact it looks like I can get contacts ok - when i send email from the Exchange account on the phone , it searches Exchange contacts on the server as i type in the TO box.
    - also in Contacts on the iPhone I have a new group that has been created with the name of my Exchange account. The group appears to be blank when you go into it on the phone, but you can type in the search box and get contact details from the server just fine.
This seems workable for now for my purposes, although updating contacts is not going to be possible that way.
I'd like more info on that if poss but more importantly..
    Calendar
    - Unlike Contacts, no Calendar has been auto created for Exchange
    - Unlike contacts, I can't see how I can view or search or create an appointment in my Exchange calendar on the iPhone
What is the best solution to this problem - I presume lots of people face the same dilemma. My initial research suggests that there are multiple ways round this but all of them look like workarounds with various disavantages.
    Questions are
    - Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
    - Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
    - What is the best work around for this?
At the moment I am seriously considering getting a separate iPhone for work and have that sync with Exchange fully although that seems a bit drastic and does not solve the problem of seeing work and home appointments on the same calendar.

Can't I just set up Exchange as one of my calendars in ical?
Only if you're running Snow Leopard and your employer will allow access (different than iPhone/mobile device access, so most likely not), but not needed - keep reading.
Is it really true that I have to choose between syncing Exchange with work server OR syncing iCal with personal Macbook?
No. It was true, but with the v3.0 software that changed - you can now sync your Exchange contacts and calendar over the air, and your Address Book and iCal via iTunes over the docking cable.
What is the best work around for this?
None needed. When you set up the exchange account, and choose to turn on syncing of contacts and calendars, you will be prompted to remove all other data, or keep it on the iPhone. Choose the keep option. Note that in that case, your personal data will not be uploaded to the Exchange server - the iPhone keeps them separate (although you can choose to view them in a merged fashion).
I have this set up on my phone (Exchange calendar along side personal and other calendars from iCal). Same for contacts. Works great.

  • Exchange active sync cannot connect to server after migration mailbox user from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 coexistence

Hello, everyone, my name is rafl
I have a problem with exchange 2013 active sync.
I have installed exchange 2013 coexistence with legacy exchange 2007, I have to migrate user mailboxes: [email protected] from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013.
but any problem with active sync connection on the mobile device after moving mailbox user. I reconfigure the exchange ActiveSync external connection domain (latest.domain.com) on mobile device replacing legacy exchange ActiveSync external connection domain
    (legacy.domain.com)
the process of moving mailboxes successfully without error.
Access OWA for exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 is running normally
access mail from Outlook running normally
Certificate request has been installed and has no problem with it
The OWA virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
The autodiscover virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
ActiveSync virtual directory is configured for internal and external connections and different from the legacy exchange
user mailboxes are still on exchange 2007 is not problematic.
only problem with Exchange Active Sync on mobile devices, where I set up an email with android, iphone, windows phone. the error message: cannot connect to the server.
but, if I create a new user and create user mailboxes directly in exchange server 2013, ActiveSync can run without error on mobile device, access through OWA, MsOutlook, Outlook Anywhere also run normally.
only the results of user migration from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 which is troubled with exchange ActiveSync connection.
any ideas for this problem, and what should I check on the exchange server ..?

i have run the activesync test connectivity and get some error :
Testing TCP port 443 on host domain.co.id to ensure it's listening and open.

I have allowed access to port 443 (https) and 80 (http) on the firewall and re-run testconnectivity, but still with the same results. if I enable active sync for users who created directly in Exch 2013 there is no problem with the ActiveSync, just a problem
for users who moved from Exch 2007 to Exch 2013. @Android, iPhone, and Blackberry the error message "cannot connect to the server"

So, I am not able to set "In-Reply-To" header while sending my SendMail command. Which results in no LastVerbExecuted returned from the server (which I suppose is caused by the mentioned issue).
So, my question is, how to make the exchange server return a Message Id field for a new email received by my client?
    Something like mentioned here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee220018%28v=EXCHG.80%29.aspx

You are getting customized error as a SOAP Fault from PeopleSoft application.
Regarding 3 responses, your send port might have retry count = 3 set in your send port. Hence you are getting 3 faults on each request you are making.
Now coming to the actual issue, when something goes wrong and you got fault message response, you need to deal with it. Means your orchestration send port will have "Response" and "Fault" response and you will deal with these messages respectively.
You need to assign MessageTypes for Response and Fault accordingly.
If you have done all above and still getting an error, check this
hotfix 978156 which is applicable in case of 2k6R2 and 2009 biztalk versions and happens while dealing with cross object conversion (datetime)

  • Emails for Current Day are not sync with Microsoft Exchange server

I have bought a Z1 and configured my microsoft exchange server email on it. All is working well. However it is only showing emails till yesterday. I have tried all sync settings including automatic, all, one day and all others but still it is not showing emails for current day. I have also tried all sort options but still no improvement.
The same setting are working perfectly fine on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. What is the issue and how to fix it? Please make sure i have purchased a new phone and would use the stock email app and no third party email app.
Already there is a downgrade in Z1 stock email app. It is not supporting formatted signatures and formatted outgoing emails. Which is now very common on all phones of its price and class.
What is Sony doing on its phones? i do not understand.

  • How to import or sync Exchange server data like Calendar, Contacts with a web application or web service

How to import or sync Exchange data like Calendar, Contacts with a web application or web service.
    1. Is there any API to import contacts and calendar (tasks and events) from exchange server to my calendar in web application using web services or http request. the user would have provided the username and password for his exchange account.
    2. Is there any licensing involved to communicate with exchange server for its data.
    thanks in advance

I am bit lost here; i have my exchange credentials, how (or) can i use the above mentioned solution for windows application or web services. can you please point in the right direction. my requirement is this: how to sync exchange data with a third party
app or webapp(my development) using EWS. how to start with, starting point and steps to do[just overview ;)].

  • New iPhone contacts accidentally synced to Exchange server, how can I get them into my Mac?

I've been adding a lot of contacts on my iPhone lately and now I wanted them synced to the Address Book on my Mac. This just wouldn't work for me, none of the new contacts would turn up on the Mac, no matter what I tried. After pulling my hair plenty it turns out I had the iPhone set up to sync contacts with the Exchange server from work instead of with my Mac.
Question is, how do I get the contacts from either the Exchange account or the iPhone into my Mac?
There doesn't seem to be a way of changing, on the iPhone, to which account an already added contact should sync. Or is there?
I must say it's pretty ******** that you cannot just choose to import all contacts from the iPhone to the Mac. Or, at the very least, have the option to choose to what account you want to sync a new contact WHEN YOU'RE ADDING IT. As you can choose between all your calendars when adding an appointment.
