N70 picture formats

I have taken photos with an n70 and transferred them to my pc with bluetooth.
When i double click them they do not open automatically but windows asks which prog to use. I select windows pictures and fax viewer and they open ok, however as far as I can see they are not saved as .jpegs. if i click on a pic, right click it then left click properties it says under file type only "file" where im expecting to see jpeg as this as what the user manual tells me they are saved as.
If anyone can shed any light that would be great as it might explain why the picture quality is so poor.
This is supposed to be a 2 megapixel camera but pics are nothing like the quality you get from a basic 1.3 megapixel camera. They are actualy no better than pics from a nokia 6230 so Im guessing something aint right.
Any ideas??
Markie

Yes,
I paired devices and used Nokia phone browser. It worked exactly as you said ,photos were shown with correct .jpg file extension and maintained it when dragged and dropped. Nice one. However photo quality is stil the same, very dissappointing.
Videos are shown as Nokia media player files but when opened, copy across to pc as .mp4's and then p-lay. Ta Da! you are a genius.Dont understand why everything has become so much hard work compared to last nokia but we got there, so thanks for help guys.PS still concerned pics are so rubbish though. Have cleaned lens but no diference.
Has anyone else had same experience, ie does it mean that a "2 megapixel camera" on a phone not really the same as a basic 2 MP proper camera?
Am I expecting too much?
Markie.

  • Turn word PDF to picture format PDF

    Hi,
I have asked before how to make PDF content not copyable, now that I am able to do that. But my boss said it is a contract, so he don't want people to be able to copy and search in the PDF. So I suggested to make the contract in picture format, so that people cannot search in it, at least that is what my boss want. I simply just use the snap shot button (Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional) highlight the page, then create PDF from clipboard image, but because i can only create one PDF from that snapshot page, so that the contract have 20 pages, I need to do that 20 times, and combine the PDFs, it takes me like 5-10min to do a 20 pages contract, but my boss said he would prefer to click a button and that the words can be converted to image format, or a easier way to do it, so I wonder if there is a way for that.
    Thanks,
    Alex

You can't save the look of a picture border in a style, but note that some settings, such as border colors, will depend on the current theme color(s), if that helps.

  • What picture format is best

I did a quick test to find the smallest picture format. I drew a drawing in paint and saved it as a png, jpg, and gif. The file sizes have a large range.
    jpg = 158 KB
    gif = 84.2 KB
    png = 12 KB
It appears that the png is the smallest by far. Does this mean it will be faster to use with a java program? Should I be using png exclusively? Are there reasons to use the other formats?

So you don't care whether the pictures look like crrap, you just want them to load fast?
Is it show-stoppingly important that a picture loads in 0.11 seconds rather than in 0.17 seconds? You would really sacrifice picture quality for that speed improvement?
Now note that these are all made-up numbers. That's because there are a variety of things which might affect the speed in which a picture loads, and you haven't told us about any of those things. The amount of disk used to store the pictures is only one of those things, and not a particularly useful thing either. Unless one of the other things is that you're transferring them over a 300 BPS dial-up line.

  • How to differentiate picture formats in LONG RAW column?

    Hi,
I have a table with a long raw column that contains pictures. I would like to know for each row if the picture in the long raw column is in JPEG, TIFF, BMP, etc.
Does somebody have an idea on how to do this?
    Thanks!
    Matt

    1) You really shouldn't be using LONG or LONG RAW data types any longer. You should at least be using BLOB data types here.
    2) When you designed the schema, there should have been columns (or other tables) to store metadata about the file, including the type of image a row stores.
    3) Lacking any of this, you could write a program that fetches the data and determines whether it is a valid JPEG, then checks to see if it is a valid TIFF, etc. until it happens upon a file format that appears to work. Obviously, though, that is a relatively costly exercise. If that's what you're forced to do, I'd strongly encourage you to store that information in a (potentially new) column in the database so you only have to do it once.

    Hello everybody,
I will certainly buy the new ipad 2 and the camera connection kit but I have a question:
In witch format are downloded on my computer the pictures that I have prewiously downloaded from my camera to my Ipad. Are they modified, resized, or somethins else? Same question for the vidéos. I will use a canon Eos 7D.

  • Editing 2.35:1 picture format instead of 16/9 How to do it?

I will have soon a JVC IDLA-X3 video projector with an anamorphic lence to spread the picture on 2.35:1 ratio picture screen.
So the next step for me would be the explore ways to shoot in 2.35:1 with my Sony XDXCAM-EX1 camera using an anamorphic lens adaptier to put in front of the camera and edit with FCP, also using this 2.35:1 format.
As someone gone through that experience ? Can I benefit from that experience by receiving feedback on how this would work ?

The EX1 is a native 16/9, so what ? it is not ridiculous to modify the aspect ratio to 2.35, as long as we can find the correct anamorphic lens to do it without loosing any single pixel.
Moving the video projector to full screen by giving up pixels in the black horizontal bars above and below is ridiculous. In doing so you are using onlu 75% of all pixels. All specialists in home cinema will tell you that.

  • Report Picture Format

With the VI 'Image in Header or Footer.vi' I want to append a picture to my LabVIEW report. Does somebody know what kind of picture file types work with this VI? I would prefere an eps or tif graphic. When I append a bitmap image the quality is very poor- especially for printing afterwards. And is it possible to define the dimensions of the image?
Working with Excel Templates and ActiveX was much better. But I have to find a good solution without Windows software. I got along with the report generation toolkit, but the images are very unsatisfying.
    thanks for any tip!
    dave

Ok, I took a look at the VI.  Are you using this VI with a Standard Report or an HTML Report?  With the HTML report, you can attach whatever kind of picture you want, and the VI just sticks an img tag in the HTML with the path to the image file.  With the Standard Report, all that happens is that the AppendPictureFromFile method is called, and I believe this method allows PNG, JPG, and GIF file formats.
If you're still having problems, could you perhaps attach a simple VI (and image file) that demonstrates the poor graphics problem you're referring to?

  • When I forward a message with pictures/formatting, it all turns to text. Where do I set an option to HTML instead of text?

I can forward the message with the formatting when I use "the other browser" by choosing OPTIONS, then HTML. I don't see how to do this in Firefox and it all turns to plain text.

I believe that if you turn off "Send As SMS: off in the settings, it should only attempt to send as an iMessage and should fail if iMessage is unavailable. It tries to send an iMessage a few times and then if unable, it will send as an SMS if you have that turned on.

  • Having problems saving an HDR in a picture format !?

    Hello all.
I have created and HDR file simple enough. However, I have no way to save the picture to something that can be displayed.
The "Save to Web" choice is greyed out and not accessible.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks

This is probably due to using 32 bit, for which save for web is not available. Use Save/Save as. You'll want to convert to sRGB first though...

  • Issues with printing all picture formats to the a4 paper tray via eprint

A little mystery which i am unable to work out.
I have recently purchased the hp photosmart plus all in one printer b210 model. The printer has eprint which is enabled and working, the printer has two trays, a standard a4 paper tray and a photo tray.
When i send a letter or standard written email it prints fine to the a4 paper tray. however if i wish to print a picture of any size or type (as i have tried different sizes and file types etc) to the a4 paper tray, it always defaults this to the photo tray and of course as there is no paper in the photo tray it displays an out of paper message.
I have been into the printer prefereneces and changed the tray type both to a4 and to auto - ask me first and both still try to print to the photo tray, looking at the demo for e print it does discuss only photo sized images and standard letters but the demo video shows an actual eprint send to the a4 tray of a different type eprinter for hp.
As a summary i really think that you can be able to send images to the a4 tray via eprint but do not know how. i have changed the tray type on the printer options and also looked at the eprint options on line. the paper default is set to a4 and nothing smaller? what else could be done and is it actually possible for this model i have?
just as an additional note i can print pictures from wireless via laptops and pcs to the a4 paper tray so the issue lies with eprint????
any help is appriciated many thanks

Currently, if you attach a photo, it will default to the photo tray.  The ability to specify photo tray vs. main tray w/attached images is not available yet.
A work-around that provides some fliexibility in this area, is that if you embed your photo into the body of the email, it will print from the main tray...don't put any text into the email and embed the image (so you can see the picture in the email body) and send it to your printer's email.
A limitation of this approach is that images will not automatically fill the page - see my crude "drawing" below of a page w/an image in the upper part of the page as an example of how a print out of an embedded image might appear.  Give this a try yourself if you'd like to see how the output looks to determine if you want to make use of this option.  You can embed multiple images as long as you stay below the 5MB size limit for each email.

  • Looking to find or request it be made, a fileformat plugin (*.8bi) for a rare picture format (*.mag)

I'm interested in a Photoshop plugin for loading and saving ("8bi" is the file extension for file format plugins) a rare format of image file. Files in this format have the extension "mag". It was primarilly used for graphics in games on the VERY old DOS-running Japanese computer called "PC-98". I have an emulator for this computer, and several games which have *.mag files for the games' graphics. I don't know much about the format, but here's what I do know:
It supports indexed color (palette based color) only.
    It supports 8bpp and 4bpp.
The PC-98 supports only 4bpp, so I assume later Japanese computers which support 8bpp must also use *.mag files in some games, as *.mag files do support both 4 and 8 bpp.
It compresses the image data (most likely form of RLE, but I'm not sure).
If a loading and saving file format plugin for Photoshyop exists for this file format, could you please send me a link to go to its dowload page?
If one doesn't yet exist, could you please make one? You'll need to know Japanese, as the documentation for this file format are only available (as far as I've seen) in Japanese. You'll also need to set your browser's text encoding to Japanese.
The offcial documention for the "mag" file format is here:
    http://www.jisyo.com/viewer/faq/mag_tech.htm
    Thanks in advance.

    Hii..
I followed your advice and used the notifier to detect whether my layer is being un-locked or not, and if it is then lock it again.. But, there is a serious loophole in this too.. If I open another document and copy an art, and paste it to the previous document, which contains my locked layer (and my layer is selected), then Illustrator shows a prompt "You are attempting to post or drag into one or more layers that are locked or hidden. Do you want to unlock and show all layers?" If the user clicks "Yes", then the layer is unlocked & the art is pasted successfully. How do I go about preventing this? Here are some screenshots.
    Please guide me..
    Thanks!
