how can i reinstall the firmware on a n70 . I don`t want to restore factory settings or anithing else. i just want to reinstall the firmware. thanx

Nokia Software Updater doesn't help in reinstalling firmware - it only checks whether firmware is of older version and then updates. If, "unfortunately", you have got the updated firmware on your phone then it is of no use i.e. you can't reinstall firmware through NSU.

T4i - okay to reinstall firmware again?

Rebel T4i - Is there any concern or issue with trying to reinstall firmware version 1.04 again even though I've already installed it on my camera? I am having camera issues that I never had with 1.01 and thought I would give this a try.

Christine you can reinstall the firmware but the real question is, what are the issues you are seeing?
The new firmware version is supposed to fix the STM lens condition.

The hard reset is buttonwise - soft reset would be dialling that number. - Maybe you should search the forum a bit for mini issues. It might be a bug in your fw version as it is the first one.
I don't recall if hard reset was enabled in v10, but you could try it anyway if youre thinking about doing a reset...
In that cas power off your device -> depress backspace, space and caps shift button while powering on. -> don't let go off them buttons 'till you're past the handshake logo screen and gets prompt to choose region. - If you get to set up youre device with region, time, and date again - the reset has performed correctly.

C3-01 reinstalling firmware & sending files proble...

Firstly I have problem with sending files from phone to PC. When I open photos folder, files are loading for a long long time and if I want to send them to PC it also belong long time. Sometimes files don't want to open. Maybe I am using wrong cable(CA 101)? I didn't find information about compatibility with my C3-01.
Secondly, I can't reinstall firmware with Nokia Software Updater. Everything is OK to ~85% when it shows error and device is unplugging(I hear a sound in windows). I don't know to do, please help me.

OK. Finally I updated Nokia OVI and reinstalled firmware without any problems but I have still problem with copying and exploring files...

N70 - Upgrading Firmware - Pros & Cons?

Hi All,
I've been using an N70 for a couple of months now, and it's been suggested I have the firmware updated, but I've seen a couple of posts in here and heard from other people about the possibility that my network (o2) won't support the updated version... This seems really confusing as the firmware's only on the handset and shouldn't be anything to do with the network...
Could anyone let me know if there's anything I may need to worry about?

If you upgrade to the latest O2 version of firmware then O2 and Nokia will still provide you with full support for your handset. So no need to worry there. Any of your warranties will remain unaffected.
The discussions you have been reading relate to when you upgrade a branded handset with Nokia generic firmware in order to de-brand the handset. Most discussions centre around the fact that the majority of owners who are on the Orange network that post here are desperate to rid themselves of Orange's additions to the standard user interface. Their only two options are to return the handset to Orange and buy a SIM free version, or take their existing hanset for a firmware upgrade to generic Nokia firmware. In the latter of the scenarios, they will invalidate any warranties that they may have with their network provider but rather surprisingly they would also void any warranty from Nokia too.
In summary, in your case if you upgrade to the latest O2 firmware, then you would have no problems so you can rest easy

Am not able to reinstall FIRMWARE 10.45-ovi suite ...

Am using NOKIA 2730c which is currently running with firmware v10.45 RM-578,I want to reinstall my firmware. I tried through ovi suite v3.0.91 ,but it shows some error after 2-3 steps(after backup of phone step).I've attached the image showing error 12017.

That is a classic OVI Suite error code if you "Google" it suggests it for you!
Perhaps you could try going over to Nokia Beta Labs and signing in with your Nokia ID & password and have a look at Nokia Software Updater:http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-software-updater

About my nokia E71. I got my E71(orange version, unlocked), in nigeria. Though i've been having some issues with it, forum 'kudos & Proffs' helped solve it. After giving it to a phone repair guy, he said he 'flashed' it and it has been working fine- the preinstalled french keyboard has changed to english, 'Orange' no longer displays at startup and shortdown and some orange software inside the phone has been removed except for the fact that when i try to install some software i get - 'unable to install' reply. I want to reinstall the firmware but i'm afraid that the orange software might return with the reinstall, please help. Thanks

Under normal circumstances Nokia Software Updater delivers firmware version appropriate to the seven digit product code printed upon label under battery; however as this has been modified by the phone repairer presumably Generic firmware has been installed in it's place.
If you key in *#0000# what information is revealed?
What software are you trying to install upon E71?
If you go to Menu > Applications > App. Mgr. > Options > Settings - is Software installation = All and Online certificate check = Off?
.sis applications need to be signed and certificate needs to be valid and these have sometimes expired; try resetting phone date a year or two earlier and try installing application again and remember to reset date afterwards.

I have successfully installed firmwareversion 1.1.3 and January update (extra programs) on my ipod touch. When there will be a problem in the future with my ipod touch and i have to reinstall the firmware, on what way the extra programms will be add back to my ipod touch, since i already have purchased the January update?

I have a similar problem. I updated to 1.1.3 and purchased the January Update. I then performed a restore, which reinstalled the 1.1.3 firmware without the January Update. I then went into itunes, which prompted me about the Update, I tried another purchase (decidied to bite the bullet, but did not want to pay again), and the message "You have already purchased the updrade" was displayed. The end result is that I have 1.1.3 without the January Update, and I cannot reinstall the update!

N70 Russian firmware

I was wondering why there isn't any new firmware for my phone (Russian, N70, product code 0533691)? The latest software is v.5.0705.3.0.1. While for other areas (Italian for example, PC 0547341), the latest version is 5.0737.3.0.1. Could someone from Nokia staff tell me, what is prospective date of release? Thanks in advance.

N70-1 FIRMWARE UPDATES

I have updated my N70 fimware from 2.0536.0.2 to 5.0705.3.0.1, but have not experienced any difference. Is the new Firmware 2nd or 3rd S60 Edition?

The N70 is a Symbian S60 2nd Edition phone and any firmware update can't change that aspect.

I have heard that NOKIA has released a newer firmware version than 5.0638.3.0.1 a few days before.Is it real?

i'm not sure yet, but from what i was told (a friend managed to update) the Music Player is imporved, now it displays a Now Playing header, the camera quality, etc.
My product code is 0529297, and i couldn't update via NSU.

Creative Zen Vision:M FM Radio Completely Disappeared!! (Reinstalling firmware doesn't hel

I turned on my Creative Zen Vision: M, and the FM Radio wasn't there. It just simply disappeared; it's not listed on the Main Menu, nor is it listed as an option from "Configure Menu". This has nothing to do with a new Firmware update that removes the?radio; my player was not connected to?my computer. I have had my player since July of 2006, so it's obviously too late to return it. I've looked around on the forum and many other people have had the same problem, but the only solution has been to reinstall/upgrade the firmware. This doesn't solve the problem. I've tried everything on the recovery menu--formatting, rebooting, cleaning disk, etc, but nothing has worked. I've also contacted Customer Support, but from what I've heard, it's probably not going to help. Has ANYONE been able to solve this problem? It's really frustrating that so many people have this problem and nothing has worked.

Are you saying that once I rollback my WMP to WMP0, my computer will be capable of reading my Zen & thus, allowing me to download the firmware and restoring it's previous condition (minus the contents-music, video, pictures, etc.)
Also, I tried to see if my Zen would try to connect to my laptop - I uninstalled the Zen program on it before connecting it, to see if anything would come up, allowing me to do anything, etc. But no, it just said "My Zen" but I couldn't do anything with that. And then I installed all of the software on the Creative Installation CD. After all of that, apparently my computer acknowledges that a device is connected via USB because it gives me an option as to what to do with it - open it, play it with wmp, explore, etc. The problem though was that the Creative program itself wouldn't acknowledge that it was connected. So I still had the "The player is not connected."
Just thought this might make a difference -
I also was looking for some kind of repair shops or sites that would be capable of repairing my Zen - the only thing I came across was http://www.zenrepair.com/Zen/index.jsp - does anyone know anything about this site? If it's reliable, etc. (Just a back up option in case this situation isn't solveable by other Zen peers.)
