N73 bluetooth

I have recently upgraded from an N70 on which I had a Route66 route finder programme, despite checking for firmware upgrades to my N73, which confirmed I have the most recent firmware, and contacting both Route66 and Nokia for help, I cannot connect the programme with my bluetooth receiver from the N73 phone.Message appears saying ' cannot connect '!
The route66 was purchased with the phone from O2 when I ugraded last time to the N70.

If you have already updated to the latest firmware and you still have this problem then you could try resetting the phone.
Always remember to backup your phone before performing resets as your data may be lost.

N73 bluetooth GPS receiver connectivity problem

I have read many posts regarding the connection drop issue between the N73 bluetooth and GPS receiver. Now everybody is waiting to upgrade to new firmware version. I was just wondering, if just the connectivity is the problem, then is there any GPS receiver which you can conncet to N73 with some cable?? At least you will not loose the connection if at all you managed to install the navigation software.

N73 - Bluetooth hands-free

I have an N73 and cannot get the phone to even recognise that a bluetooth hands-free is near the phone never mind trying to pair them! I have tried with an original Nokia bluetooth hands-free (which I know works) and a new O2 Blue handsfree. The N73 bluetooth recognises my old handset so the bluetooth obviously works. Any ideas?

Nokia N73- Bluetooth messages

I have a N73. I would like to shift messgaes received by bluetooth to the memory card. The file manager does not show messages. I have tried connecting the ohone to PC via USB cable. But the PC suite does not show bluetooth messages.
Can somebody help me.

N73 bluetooth problem

I can't find any bluetooth devices with my new phone at all, but other bluetooth devices can find mine and pair with it. Bluetooth is turned on and the phone is visible to others. I have this on vodafone and have even tried resetting to the phones original settings.
The firmware I have ends with 0.0.1
Any help would be appreciated.

You will only be able to find other bluetooth devices, such as headsets, when they are in 'pair'-mode. So, if it's a headset you're looking for, please set it to 'pair'-mode first (see instruction manual for more information). Normally, PC's should always be discoverable by default. However, there is a slight chance that yours isn't. Check your driver settings to see if your PC is 'discoverable'. Note that 'discoverable' is sometimes called 'visible'.
If it is, and you still can't find it, you're probably facing a problem with your phone's firmware. I found out that you have a Vodafone Live! UK-branded phone. This is a bit of a shame, as you'll have to go to a Nokia Service Point in order to get the newest available firmware, which, for you, at this point, is v2.0268.0.0.3.
Your current firmware does sometimes have the problem you're describing, and it is fixed in the aforementioned version of the firmware.
My phone has the same firmware (except that it's a 57.02-model) and does NOT have this problem, but there are many complaints from people with this version who do have this issue. So, if your phone still fails to discover any devices, even after you (double-)checked their discoverability, you should have your firmware updated.
Unfortunately, as it stands, you cannot as yet use NSU to update the firmware yourself, as Nokia/Vodafone haven't released this newer V3.0638.0.0.1-version on NSU yet. I mention Vodafone here because they also have responsibility in your case, as your phone is Vodafone Live UK-branded...

N73 Bluetooth connectivity problems

I've just received my N73 back from repair. Have paired the phone with my laptop and can initiate SYNC from PC Suite on PC to the phone, but not the other way around ie from Phone to PC - I have set the laptop icon on the phone as authorised. What am I doing wrong? Message on the phone says "No Bluetooth devices found. Try again?"

A long shot, how about installing the application again. After an upgrade most application needs to be re-install to run properly. Restore most of the time fails.

Nokia n73 bluetooth

when i pair the n73 with my samsung or a nokia it pairs ok but when i try to get the pics from my sam or my nokia i can not see connect at all
if anyone tell me wat to do i can send pic from my sam to my nokia n73 and send pics from my n73 to my sam but i can not get in to my sam phone or any phones useing the bluetooth to brows the files it will not let me at all
im new to nokia phone

[N73] Bluetooth and Pioneer CD-BTB200: work around

Hi all,
Just to let you know the work around for using the N73 with FW v4.XXX and the Pioneer BTB200 (among others, delivered with the AVIC-D3 system). Since automatic BT connectivity does not work, I tried something different.
- set BT on your N73 to "on" and visible
- let the Pioneer system look for your N73
- pair (default key '0000') but do NOT set to automatic connect
- phone register on your Pioneer set
- each time you swith the Pioneer set on, you have to manual connect from the phone.
(if you don't want your phone to be visible for other devices, please do not forget to set visibility to 'no')
How to manual connect from the phone:
- open BT settings, go to "connections"
- select your Pioneer BT device
- connect
Although you'll get a message on the Pioneer system that the device is not compatible, you will see the headphone icon on your N73, and you can make calls (in- and outgoing).
Hope this will help some of you :-)

N73 Bluetooth conection prob

I tried to send my wife a music file I had downloaded from my pc to my N73. It found her phone ok, but each time I tried to send it to her it failed. I sent her a picture from my phone and it recieved it with no probs. Is it the format which my pc suite had converted it too which is the problem? or could it be something else? Any help would be great thanks.

yes, if the file u are trying to send is not compatible with her handset then u will get a failure notice.

Even after switching off my bluetooth the light on the front of the phone keeps flashing.No matter what I do I have this irritating blue light all the time.Help

go to Menu -> Tools-> Settings-> Phone-> Display-> Sleep mode-> OFF
the blue flash light will go..
but my frnd,, its better to keep it ON.. it will save battery power of mobile..i mean the Phone will consume less battery in Sleep mode..

N73 Bluetooth headset

I have a Nokis HS-56W BT headset which is paired with my N73. The problem I have is that the default on the connection means I can't hear through the headset unless I increase the volume. And of course, I can't increase the volume until the call is active. This is a real problem when making calls in the car. Receiving calls is less of a problem as the phone is not muted - so it rings normally until I answer - I just need to increase volume pronto. Does anyone have any ideas on solving this?

I believe there is a later version of the firmware available, however it may not yet be available for all networks - some are particularly lax at applying their customisations which means their customers have to wait.
O2 and Voda spring to mind ..

N78 and N73 bluetooth problem!!!!

I had bought a new car radio Pioneer with BT HF set. But this radio doesnot work with N73. I tried everything latest firmaware but...nothing. Only friends N73 with the firs firmware works without problem. So I bought a new N78, BUT this phone doesnot work with BT HF the same way!!! All others phones like 6300 6210, sony erricson etc working just fine.
Should this return the phone to seller or shoul I wait for new firmware????

Pairing N73 with carkit bluetooth 1.0

I have a N73 (bluetooth 2.0). Is it possible to pair my phone witch a bluetooth carkit that supports only Bluetooth 0.96 and 1.0? The carkit says pairing succesfull, but is is not able to establish a connection with my phone.

nope definately not in the same place, im in Sweden he seems to be in the UK.
i am actually noticing a lot of "freezing" as well. when the phone goes into sleep mode it will not come out of it.
also when i go into some different menus the phone will just "hang" there forever.
i have to take the battery outr to get this fixed.
i never had any of these problems before this release.
i hope that they release a fixed update very soon, or i will go crazy!

Genius crashes iTunes 8

After looking thru the discussions I don't see this one anywhere:
If the GENIUS is on, then whatever I try to do in iTunes 8 that involves creating a window CRASHES iTunes.
Once I turned OFF Genius iTunes works ok.

Now when I try to TURN ON Genius it CRASHES iTunes 8.

Basically I select GENIUS from the playlists on the left and get the "What is Genius" screen and click the "Turn on Genius" button and after about 15 seconds iTunes crashes.

Genius is a lovely feature, but it requires some URGENT attention... I found out that it crashes only at those times when iTunes is connecting to perform other tasks (i.e. downloading Podcasts; redirecting the user to a Store link, etc.) If iTunes wants to update Genius at the same time, it'll just flop out. Today it did so more than two times, so the application crash manager offered me to reset iTues's settings. I did so, then tried again. it flopped out once more, so, upon re-launch, I decided to cancel the Genius update. Then I let it finish all of the other store-related activities (updating four podcasts). After that, I forced a Genius update down its throat, and iTunes decided to go on with it this time. The funny thing is that this issue has been around ever since iTunes 8.0.0. We're now on 8.0.1, and still nothing's happened. I'd like Apple to solve this issue, as there's really no alternative to iTunes on the Mac, and I also happen to like iTunes the best even if you DO count in the other players that might exist... My library is really small, btw... Only 10GB in total (including AudioBooks, video's and podcasts) If I were to only mention the Music (Genius only sends whatever is in the Music section), it's only 7GB. I would really love this crash to get out of the app, as things like this remind me to Windows too much... Apart from this tiny issue, my iMac is really working PERFECTLY. Well, there's the infamous N73 Bluetooth issue, but that really seems to be on Nokia's side...

N73 - lack of bluetooth data

Does anybody know why Nokia have stopped providing Signal-Strength and Battery-Status information over bluetooth for the N-series phones?
This information gets used on hands-free car-kits which have displays. I have found it very useful.
It seems that the simpler/cheaper phones all provide this informaiton, but the 'leading-edge'/expensive phones don't! Haven't Nokia got this the wrong way around?
My previous phone, 6822, provided all this information. But my N73 doesn't! Which one is the 'smart' phone?

I transfer media files between my Lumias 920, 820 and 800 all the time without going through an intermediary. Can you please provide a little more detail of the difficulty you are having in transferring files? Note that you need WP7.8 to share media files on the older WP7 phones.
