N73 Cannot get into menu

When I click the left menu button, the screen gets lighter and in the top left corner is a small box with a standby icon inside it.
How do I bring back the menu to when the menu button is clicked so the box no longer appears?

Reboot your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

If the messaging app is crashing at launch, and it is not fixed by a reboot, you will have to restore the device to factory settings, and then choose the set up as new option. Restoring to factory, and then restoring from a backup will return the issue to your iPhone.
If it is all saved to iCloud or your computer(outside of iTunes) then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings. This will erase all info from your iPhone! So be sure you have your stuff saved, erase & in the start menu up choose "Set Up As New," sign in with iCloud/Apple ID, get back to texting like a boss.

Did you purchased the Full Perpetual License from Adobe for $149.00?, if so then what has happened is that you probably downloaded the Creative Cloud trial version which has now expired.
The license key for the perpetual version will not be accepted to activate the CC version.
Uninstall the existing Lightroom and then download the one available from the link below. The uninstall process will not affect your Catalog, Preferences or personal files but will just remove the application. Install the new download and you license key will be accepted.

You have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPad on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). It's all rather odd because the old account cannot 'no longer exist' - if you don't have the correct password you won't be able to get into it, but you can't actually delete an iCloud account from the server.
I'm afraid you will need the services of iCloud Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

you should look in your applications folder to see if mail is still there. the dock icon is pointing to mail being in your applications folder. it has probably been moved or deleted for some reason from the app folder. do a spotlight search for your mail program. if it is still on your computer, move it back to the applications folder and when you click the question mark, it should see it is back and open. The email folder in your library shouldn't have to be touched. you need mail.app itself.

Did you haveany problem with updating to iOS 5? It soundsl like the update did not correctly restore from the backup that iTunes mnakes as the fisr step of the update.

You can't get rid of those icons because that means that you MUST connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and restore the device. You have no choice. There is no way to remove that from the screen. Something went wrong on the iPad and you need to restore it now.
