  • E63 and TomTom Wireless GPS MkII receiver connecti...

Every time I am associating TomTom Wireless GPS MkII receiver with my E63, the Bluetooth connection drops withing just a few seconds and it doesn't reconnect again (it has to be paired again). That same GPS receiver works just fine with my laptop though. Is there any way to make it work with E63? There are no options on the receiver, just a power button. Does it need a "driver" of some sort? The E63 has the latest firmware available through Nokia Software Update tool.
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I solved my problem. It is not enough to pair TomTom Wireless GPS with E63. A Positioning option must be set to use Bluetooth GPS: Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> General -> Positioning -> Positioning Methods -> Bluetooth GPS. Once that option is checked, both Ovi Maps and Google Maps connect to my GPS receiver.

  • Sending music from mbp to a bluetooth receiver

    hi everyone.  first time post.
    i have a mbp 10.7.2.
i get my internet via a log in wifi system (dormatory style).  i used to use my airport express to send music wirelessly to my stereo.  since moving to a new location the airport express (and apple tv) don't work very well.
Airport express works great if i create my own network -however i cant use the internet and listen to music at the same time with this configuration.
Is it possible (and how do i go about) sending music to my homestereo using a bluetooth receiver with Itunes?  I figure if i can send it over bluetooth i can keep the wifi channel open for internet use and can unleash the laptop from its patch cord conected to the stereo.
    your help is much apreciated.

Only if your hearing aid device uses the A2DP Blutooth profile.

  • External GPS receiver with TomTom app

I have the Dual XGPS Bluetooth receiver for my wi-fi iPad2. It works with a couple of the cheap map apps I was testing it with. I then downloaded the $50 TomTom app, and I can't get it to work. Always get the Weak GPS Reception response.
Anyone else with this receiver get TomTom to work?

Yes, I did send an email to Dual & posted a question on TomTom, but usually get better & faster answers on Apple discussion.

  • Windows Media Player 11 Bluetooth connect with N73

Anyone can help me with connecting N73 to Windows Media Player via bluetooth?
I have Nokia PC Suite updated and Bluetooth connects with it.
I can see it on "My Computer" folder as a phone and also as a camera.
In Device Manager, i can also see it as a "Portable Media Device"
But Windows Media Player doesn't seem to detect it when it is connected to PC via bluetooth. Only when connected by cable. But as I want to get rid of the cable, how should I manage this?
    Thank you very much.

As you are using Windows 7, you can use this extension from Microsoft - http://www.interoperabilitybridges.com/html5-extension-for-wmp-plugin

  • Can iPhone work with GPS Bluetooth module?

Hi, Is might be a stupid question, but I've searched and not found a reply...
I have an extern gps bluetooth module, is it possible to install a Garmin program on iPhone and connect via iPhone's bluetooth to gps bluetooth, will Garmin work on iPhone then (if it possible to install Garmin on iPhone)?
    thx

This is for Dan & Hexonxonx.
I have an iPhone and a Garmin 660 GPS and have them synced and really like what I have achieved so far, with the handsfree phone etc. I have used the FM tuner (on the GPS) and music on the GPS plays through the car speakers. My question: Can I get the music from my iPhone to play through the car speakers via the GPS FM tuner? Same with audio book? If so, how do I do that!
    Thanks.
    Geraldine

  • Windows 8 Pro configure Bluetooth GPS to work with Windows 8 internal maps programs

How do you setup/configure a bluetooth GPS to work with windows 8 internal map programs.  So far i,ve been able to connect the GPS device to the tablet, but it only works with Microsoft legacy map programs using the COM ports ie 3,7.

    Hi,
The devices used in Windows Store Apps must have special drivers insintalled.

  • Using Sitecom CN-504 Bluetooth card with PB Pismo and OS 10.4.6

I have been given a Sitecom CN-504 Bluetooth card and was trying to use it with my PB G3 Pismo which is running OS 10.4.6
The card claims to be Mac compatible and has instructions for use with OS 10.1.4 which requires the use of Apple Bluetooth Preview v 2.1 and shows the use of a Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences. I have been to the Sitecom website and there are no Mac driver downloads - the manual seems to imply that it should just work with OS 10.1 or later and since the Apple Bluetooth .pkg will not install on OS 10.4.6 it would seem that Bluetooth support is already built in ?
After I boot with the Bluetooth card installed , I have no Bluetooth pane in system preferences although it is in the library - I cannot see how to 'activate' this pane or to move it into the system preferences window ?
I looked in the Apple System profiler and there was no information found under the 'Bluetooth' heading although the card shows up under PC and PCI cards.
Has anyone here successfully installed Bluetooth in a Pismo before , and if so , under which operating system ?
If this card is not compatible , has anyone successfully used a different Bluetooth adaptor with the Pismo or any G3 Powerbook ?
If I get it working I would like to be able to link to my Palm Bluetooth GPS receiver and use it with Route 66 or some similar mapping application which offers GPS support ( I currently use TomTom Navigator 5 with my PalmOne Treo 650 but find the small screen a disadvantage at times ).

    3Com Bluetooth PC Card
This is the only PC Card (PCMCIA) which works on the Mac. I do not know how Sitecom can state Mac OS X comptibility. This cannot be true. I recommend to got either for the 3Com which disappears completely or the D-Link DBT-120 USB adapter.
Do you have the Apple Bluetooth Preview 2.1 installer on your disk? I really, really would love to get that installer (again) because I lost it. Could you please send it to me? My e-mail address is on the website above.

  • Issues between iPhone and external GPS bluetooth

I have paired my Garmin GPS bluetooth with my 3G iPhone. Seemed to work fine. I could call and talk through the GPS speaker-mic.
However, realized today that when receiving a call, 1) the GPS ring, and I answer by clicking the answer button on the GPS. However, I do not hear the caller. Only way was to press the speaker ON the iPhone and talk handsfree through the iPhone !!
Also realized I can use the car speakers when iPhone iis connected through car AUX, and simply use the iPhone mic.
Cool, BUT : we're talking about driving safe here... What am I missing so there could be a simple way to make or answer calls without having to play around with both iPhone or GPS or disconnecting the AUX cable, whenever a call is coming ??
Unless (and I hope) I am missing something, I am getting to conclude that iPhone was not designed with mobile-slash-driving security in mind.
    Thanks,
    Rob

Well, I use a bluetooth headset with my iPhone when I drive. I have familiar people set with different ringtones, so when the phone rings, I know without looking who it is. All I do then is press the button on my headset and talk. Press it again to hang up. If it is my default ringtone, then I just look down at the phone for a second to see who it is and decide whether or not to answer it.
As far as your other statement about having to perform checks everytime a call comes in, I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to, unless it is my statement about checking the phone. I would recommend that you test that while in the driveway of you home before venturing out on the road. It may be a limitation on that particular version of Garmin. I know not all of them work 100% with the iPhones.
I agree about searching for a song on the iPod as being dangerous. If you cannot find a handsfree solution, then I wouldn't use the phone except for when you are stopped. I agree it isn't worth a fine or worse!

  • IOS6 bluetooth connection with car stereo

With my iPhone 4S running iOS5, my after-market car stereo bluetooth was able to read my song name, artist name, ect. Now that I upgraded to iOS6 my Kenwood receiver cannot read this data while connected via bluetooth. Since the data can't be read, the steering wheel control to search/skip a song forward or back also no longer works. I tested the car stereo last night with an iOS5 phone and it worked correctly, so I know the problem is related to the bluetooth iOS6.

  • I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email then.  Is there a way to fix this?

I use a bluetooth headset with iPhone 5 but when I ask Siri to read my email she says I must unlock my phone first.  If I take the phone out of my pocket I might as well just read the email from the phone screen.  Is there a way to fix this so the phone doesn't have to be unlocked?

Apple, as I'm sure you know, now manage official phone 'unlocks' directly rather than the Newtork doing so.
When a GSM Network Provider buys a consignment of iPhone's they are locked to that carrier and may only be officially unlocked if said carrier requests it. If so, it is Apple who do this, via iTunes.
I am therefore inclined to think that part of the any generic iTunes syncing process involves the transmission of key hardware data, including IMEI, to Apple whenever the handset is synced.
If this is the case and, as each iTunes account is linked to a credit card, were Apple to maintain a database of genuinely stolen phones (ones reported to Police) they could advise said Police force when a stolen phone stuck its metaphorical head over the parapets once again? They would be able to identify the name & address of the new user.
I have spoken to the Police here in Ireland today and they regularly engage with Apple on such matters.
This may not be tracking as we know it Jim, (not using GSM Triangulation or GPS) but it's arguably even more targetted and leaves an indelible fingerprint of guilt on the thief.
The laws here are simple in this regard, if you are in possession of stolen property, knowlingly or otherwise, you forfeit the goods once the Police show up. Whether you get prosecuted depends on whether you stole the goods or were duped into purchasing them.

  • Iphone bluetooth problem with car stereo

I bought a third party bluetooth adapter for my car stereo. Hooking it up with any other device ( other mp3 players, my husband's windows phone ) all work and stream music. Pairing it with my iphone 5 causes constant crackling and static like blown speakers. Same with the ipod touch. Is there a setting in the phone that will fix this?
    Thanks

I had same issue on iPhone 4 using "ebay" type adapter but improved it
    with  Blackberry bluetooth receiver
I however now have iPhone 5 wired in for perfect results

  • Bluetooth icon with two rays, what this means?

My bluetooth stops working from time to time on my MB (unibody late 2008), anyway just restarting the MB solves it. Now I'm trying to find why, because restarting is not an option for me.
    So my question is:
I noticed that wen this happened, the bluetooth icon turns to a bluetooth icon with two horizontal little rays (or zigzag lines)
    Technically, what this means?
Also another question, overcharge the USB ports with USB powered devices can make bluetooth stop working this way?
    Thanks

    Yeah,
This has a lot of sense, because this start happening after I added a new USB device that uses almost 500ma. Anyway this new device is connected to a different USB Bus.
    This the distribution:
    USB Bus
    -nio 2|4 (soundcard) 500mA
    -BRCM2046 Hub
    -Bluetooth USB Host Controller <---
    USB Bus
    - Apple Internal Keyboard/Trackpad 40mA
    - IR Reciver 100mA
    USB High-Speed Bus
    USB High-Speed Bus
    - Built-in iSight 500mA
    - USB2.0 Hub
    - ReMOTE SL (MIDI controller) 480mA
    - Launchpad (MIDI controller) 430mA <--- the new device
    Now some questions:
If I use a powered USB hub, it could improve my situation?
If it is possible: turning off USB devices I'm not using, like the IR Receiver and iSight, could improve my situation?
Because this not happens every time I use this configuration, I think it could be related to AC stability problems, do you think an AC NoBreak or Stabilizer can improve my situation?
Last issues (it happens 3 times) was in Israel where AC wasn't too stable and a bit below 220V. Now I'm in Malaga Spain working with a 227V AC supply for more than 48 hours non stop with all devices working, and no signals of any problem.
    Thanks for your help!

  • 1.1.3 Update & Bluetooth Problems with Nuvi 680

I have been using my iPhone with a Garmin nuvi 680. The nuvi 680 has Bluetooth and can be used as a hands free speaker/mike. I had been using it happily until I upgraded to the 1.1.3 update last night. Now even tough I get an initial connection, it is dropped within a minute or so. Apparently, the connection is reestablished at some point, because after a few minutes the dialog screen warning comes up again telling me that the phone was dropped. This goes on ad infinitum until I unpair the iPhone or turn off Bluetooth. I have tried unpairing and pairing again with the nuvi. It didn't have any effect. I am going to reset the iPhone and try again, but I am not sure that will help.
The most irritating thing about this problem is that the dialog that keeps coming up, has to be dismissed manually before you go back to navigation. After dismissing the dialog 5 or 6 times, I just turn off Bluetooth in frustration.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems? How did you fix the issue?

I am experiencing the same thing. Very frustrating. I got rid of my Motorola Q about 1 week ago and the bluetooth with that phone did the same disconnect cycle (except it also crashed the phone a lot). I have been in heaven with my new iPhone especially with the bluetooth working with my Nuvi 680....for about a week. Now with 1.1.3 I'm back to angry. I would actually seriously consider going back to 1.1.2. I need bluetooth to work with my GPS more than I need homescreen icons or maps triangulation (that's what my gps is for). I'm new to Apple cycle with this type of issue, but I hope that I'm pleasantly surprised to find a quickly rolled out fix.

  • Any way to boost the Bluetooth receiver on a MBP?

How can I boost the Bluetooth receiver on a MBP? In my current setup, I have my MBP to the left while I have an external monitor in the middle that acts as my primary monitor. So, since my Bluetooth mouse is on my right, the distance is about 1.5 feet from my MBP and therefore the Bluetooth signal is weaker, so the mouse sometimes lags across the screen when moving it around.

If this is physical media rather than a VTL, then you can always write protect or even export the volume, so it won't be written to, if you don't want it.
The write window will be correctly applied when the tape has expired and is written to again. You can't edit the write window on the tape, you can only increase the amount of time the tape is kept with the retain options.
    Thanks
    Rich
