I have lost images from a slideshow I made.  Is thre anyway I can use the dvd project to restore those lost individual images?

If these are actually part of a QuickTime movie then the best you can do is try get screen grabs of them.

  • N73 and image compression level.

There is no way to set image quality in n73 (only image size).
Default image compression destroys otherwise good photos by JPG artifacts. Are there any alternative programs i could take photos with that would save images with less compression (better quality)? Or maybe someone already came with a hack to up the compression quality in firmware?
What point is there in putting good lens with high resolution when compression shreds image so you have to downsize it 2-3 times to get decent image quality?

  • Lost images - need to rebuild iPhoto library

I was recently in the apple store for a repair and was told that I can 'rebuild' my iPhoto library to find lost images. I can't seem to find anything in the help section on doing this. I can't remember if I've changed the directories, but I don't believe so. I've only moved the iPhoto folder to a hard drive and then back again. I can't think of anything else out of the ordinary.
Thoughts, suggestions on finding lost pictures / rebuilding the library?
    Thanks

Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys and launch iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

  • Attempting to restore lost images

Twice, all of my photos have been completely wiped out from my Mac and I have never been able to recover them. Today I attempted something by myself and shouldn't have! I was using Disk Utility to attempt to restore the images. And I clicked on my "All Images" folder in the finder window to drag it over to the restore box. I have since learned that was NOT how to restore the lost images (I have never used Time Machine) and I still don't know how to restore them but I now know I was NOT in the right place!
But when I was messing around with it and clicked on the all images folder and drug it over to the disk utilities screen there was a little poof icon and then the folder was gone and I can't find it. Help??

Are you sure that there is not an Apple ID problem going on here?
I have never restored from an iCloud backup and I assume that you are in the process of setting up the new iPad and cannot get past this stumbling block of trying to restore from that backup. Is that a correct assumption? Or did you set up the iPad already and now you are trying to restore from the iPad backup?
What are the steps that you have gone through to this point on the new iPad?

  • I lost images.  how can I recover?

Out of know where, I lost images.  Not sure how many, but the timespan was from Fall of 2011 to present.  I'm going to say 20-30 images.  Gone.  What are my options?  Can I reset phone to an earlier date similar to my computer to try to regain?

Restore the phone using a backup from when they were present.

  • Aperture 2.0 Library Failure - lost images

I have recently upgraded to 10.5.2, the new graphics library etc and Aperture 2.0 in order to use my Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III. The FIRST, new library that I created and loaded just 55 raw files in has lost my images!
Background: I was using the images fine after importing, had rated, organized, cropped, applied keywords etc and then after quitting to take a break, came back and reloaded Aperture...
Aperture's library is now not displaying my images - thumbnails appear blank, main images are blank, previews are not available in iphoto browser etc
Worse still the finder shows that the library has now become only 1.7mb small - eg way smaller than even one image, and i can't even find the original raw files
Things I have tried to recover...
    - opening up the library package to find the original raw images
    - exporting the project - it exports with the same problem
    - backing up to a vault - same problem - no images in the vault
    - the usual restarting the computer etc
This is incredibly disappointing to say the least... any ideas anyone? Apple?
Other things I know to do - just so anyone good enough to help has all the info:
    - Time Machine is NOT backing up this library
    - I have not written any files since this problem
    - I have tried disk repairs - my disk appears fine...
    Help?!

Ok, well for some reason, I can't edit my own message. Here's what I wanted to say....
Let's have a look at what Aperture thinks was imported. Right-click on [http://208.106.31.89/scripts/dump] the link and select 'Download linked file', then:
    1) Open Terminal.app from Applications -> Utilities
    2) Type 'chmod 755 ~/Downloads/dump.sh'
    3) Type '~/Downloads/dump.sh "/path/to/your/aperture/library" '
    4) Post the results of the script...
Don't type any of the single-quote (') characters above, but do type the double-quote ones ("). Note that the ~ character is next to the '1' key on the US keyboard, and it's a shifted-character.
    Here's an example:
    charlie% ~/Downloads/dump.sh "/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary"
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V2271.CR2 (size:12067173) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V1626.CR2 (size:12573080) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V2191.CR2 (size:13004152) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V2185.CR2 (size:13168053) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/Users/simon/Pictures/12NOV05PRAIA012.CR2 (size:8562709) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V1576.CR2 (size:12285696) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V1804.CR2 (size:13539361) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/13NOV05PRAIA040.CR2 (size:7279522) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/VJ1V1694.CR2 (size:11732118) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/_M4S2077.CR2 (size:15492152) is referenced
    file '/Volumes/Users/charlie/Pictures/12NOV05PRAIA022.CR2 (size:9285637) is referenced
This tells me that all the files were imported referenced, the path that Aperture thinks they're located and their sizes. If all your files are referenced, the library-size isn't a problem. If they're managed, it is.
    Let me know

  • Lost images, ratings & edits in Lightroom 4.1

    Hi all,
On opening Lightroom 4.1 it appears to have reverted back to how it was a few months and so I lost all of the images I was working on. On reimporting them back into Lightroom, this was performed quickly as if perhaps they were remembered, however all ratings and edits remained lost. Do you know if it is possible to recover these?
    Thanks
    J

Take a look at the File->Open Recent menu. You may find some other catalogs
    there.
If not, search your hard drives for Lightroom catalog (.lrcat extension)
files. Open them all, one by one, to see which is the right catalog.

  • If I extract my previews to recover lost images, will they still show up in the catalog?  Can I extract just certain files?

if I extract my previews from lightroom, will they still show up in the catalog? I am trying to recover certain images. Can I just extract specific folders?

I also had ringtones from the 1001 Ringtones app that were lost after the iOS5 conversion.
I tried the the fix to uncheck the ringtones, sync and then re-check and sync, but that didn't work for me.
What did work was that I re-downloaded the file from the original e-mail where the app sent it to me, then I hit "add file to library", found the file and then my old ringtones re-appeared.  However, they had a circle with an exclamation point next to them, and when I clicked on it, it said itunes could no longer file the location of the file.  So, I followed the screen steps to tell it where they were originally saved, and then they synced just fine.
I hope this makes sense, good luck.

  • Is it possible to recover lost images through thumbnails in lightroom?

Our vacation pictures were on IPAD2. I accessed them and thought I was uploading them when I imported them to Lightroom3. I made panoramas and all in photoshop too. My husband asked if the images had been uploaded and I said yes. So he did synched and the update on the IPAD effectively erasing all those images. Now I find that these awesome images were not synched or imported to the computer, but just to lightroom thumbnails. Heartbroken! I can still see the thumbnails in Lightroom... My card has been formated twice since then. I don't think I can recover them there. Is it possible that there is a program that can recover those images to .jpgs from the thumbnails?
Please alert your users to the possibility of this happening! And Please create a program that can recover if images are lost... Thank you!

Depending on what has been done to the camera card and/or the iPad, you may be able to recover the files. Formatting the card doesn't necessarily prevent photos from being recovered, but writing new photos to the card usually will prevent photos from being recovered. You need to search for something called an "undelete utility", download it, install it and run it. Get one version for camera cards, and one version for your iPad. There are freeware versions available for Windows, so I assume there must be similar for Mac.
You can also recover thumbnails from Lightroom via utility programs, for example http://www.robcole.com/Rob/ProductsAndServices/PreviewExporterLrPlugin/

  • My iphoto 6 crashed ,how do i recover lost images

how to retrieve lost iphoto 6 images?

  • Retrieve lost images from thumbnails?

    Hi there,
I have a number of referenced images in my library, the originals of which were held on CD. Unfortunately the CD is no longer readable, and my originals have gone.
I have my preview quality set to high, and Im wondering if there is any way to retreive the images from the librarys previews. I know they wont be the best quality, but it would be better than having lost the images completely.
Ive had a trawl through the Library package, and can see the preview files that would be suitable for restoration, problem is there is about 250 images!
Is there a smart way to retrieve these or am I going to have to trawl through every directory and copy the preview file out and re-import it?
    Any help most gratefully received!
    Andy

You could apply the method decribed here to find the previews and duplicate and copy them to a new location.

  • 6300 Lost Image Size Menu

For whatever reason, I seem to have LOST two menu items that I know I used to have:
Menu > Messaging > Message settings > Multimedia messages > Img. size (MMS plus)
Menu > Messaging > Message settings > Multimedia messages > Image size (MMS)
Does anyone have any idea where these have gone, and how to restore them? I have tried a factory reset and firmware upgrade to no avail.
    Thanks!
    Simon.

    To All,
After sending in my question, I went back to Mail Help & noticed that images could be attached by dragging from Photo Browser or Desktop or Finder, or by clicking on the 'Paperclip' icon. We had only ever used the 'Paperclip'. Dragged an image from the Photo Browser and both Message Size report & Image Size menu button appeared. Then went back and tried Desktop, Finder & 'Paperclip'. Now, the two items appear, whichever method is used. Doesn't work on all .jpg images, but is sufficient for the need.
Guaranteed that if original question wasn't submitted, never would have found out how it works. Many thanks to Apple Discussions.

  • Nokia 5800 lost images

Many of my images were lost. There were keys appearing on my images and I can't open them. Some don't have keys but still I can't open them. But not all images were lost. Then my phone hanged and I turned it off. When I looked back at those images which I can't open, they are gone. I tried connecting it to my PC and chose 'show hidden files,' but I can't have them again. How can I retrieve those images?

I suspect that if you look in the File Manager, you'll see the pictures in tact. When you look at the gallery, you aren't seeing in the various folders on the memory card directly, you are seeing thumbnail images from a database which can become corrupter. This being the case, connect the phoen to a PC in mass sotrage mode and copy all of the images, then delete the 'private' folder from the memory card. and put the pictures back.
Warning - deleting the private folder may affect other items, particularly if you have installed any applications to the memory card, or if any applciations store any data on the memory card, so check the status of your apps before doing this.
