N73 not ME

Have had this phone since March 2008. Have now discovered that the "5" key isn't working properly either as a number or in texting..... sometimes it works but more often than not it doesn't unless I press incredibly hard on it!
Is there anything that can be done?
Also is there a way to back up "My Folders" on my PC? Phone doesn't always sync with PC so is there owt I can do...I did backup before I upgraded software but then the phone crashed and I lost everything....local nokia care centre put it right but reinstalling backup caused phone to die again so I was told never to use the saved backup! Have backed it up with memory card but can't find a way to save "My Folders".
I'm sure there's an easy fix (please)but I don't know it.
Sorry to be a pest but this is my first Nokia and it's a lovely phone except for these small problems! (Well the broken key is a problem - do you realise how many words have an "l", "j" or "k" in them? No neither did I!

If data corruption is the cause of a problem, then making a full restoration can put a problem back onto a fixed phone. Normally, you can get around this by doing a partial restoration of a PC Suite backup (you can't do partial backups/restores to memory card until S60 E3 FP2) leaving out 'settings', this can be avoided. If not, reformat the device and restore again but restore one element at a time so that you can identify where the issue is in the data by when the problem reoccurs.
Backups to PC Suite are normally OK, and as your issue is a hardware issue with keys not working, restoration is unlikely to retart your current problem.

Hi, Nokia N73 is compatible with Nokia Ovi Suite. I would recommend following:
- uninstall all existing Nokia PC SW (Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Connectivity Cable Drivers, Nokia Ovi Suite, Nokia Software Updater) from your PC
- Check, that you have enough free disk space and free memory in your PC. Error message shown in your screenshot seems to be related to Windows operating system problem, not having enough free resources to complete the installation of drivers needed for your device
- Reboot your PC
- Download Nokia Ovi Suite from our web pages
- Install Nokia Ovi Suite
- Start Nokia Ovi Suite and connect your device using USB cable to your PC
- If that doesn't help, try connecting your device using Bluetooth to your PC

Nokia N73 (not music edition) Ring tone mute mode

Hi,
I am having the Nokia N73 (not music edition) phone. If I receive any call when the music player is in the pause mode then I can see the vibrating alert only and not the ring tone. At that time my ring tone is going on mute mode. Is it a build-in functionality? Or it is a problem?

Try switching profiles. If you see it's set to Silent, turn it to General instead.

N73 - not displaying new messages

I upgraded my n73's firmware about a month ago and i am on Vodafone. On Saturday my phone stopped displaying and vibrating when i received a new text message, it also doesn't display the little mail picture under the the operator name. However i've noticed that when the screen saver comes on it displays that there is a new message and its not only when i keep checking my inbox that i will know.
Please help me out!!

I hv the same problem after upgraded my Nokia N73ME. from ver 3.0638 to ver 3.0705.1.0.31.
Before that all my sms was store in SD card memory. after upgraded it I cant read the sms message in the SD memory card. Even a new sms came in i just can see the sms subject but not able to open it.
Anybody facing this problem? but if i switch the sms storage selection to memory phone, I am able to view the message.

No 3G on N73 - Not even menu option

Hi, all.
I got my phone in Brazil, and I'm gonna use it in Argentina. We do have 3G here, but my phone does not seem to pick it. Besides, there's no "Dual Mode" option on the NETWORK menu. Is there any way to activate that? Or are there different N73 versions, for different countries? Am I stuck with a non-3G version of the N73 (I already updated the firmware).

My N73 not vibrate after updating

After Updating my N73 music edition to the latest firmware v 4.0812.4.2.1
the phone dosen't vibrate any more! i am sure that the settings are correct. also it dosent vibrate when starting the phone like before!

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke. If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

N73 not syncing

i would like to sync my contacts and messages in order to be able to check the contacts i am updating on my iphone and delete unimportant messages from the phone more quickly, since it has some major performance and stability issues since my inbox reached 1800+ mesages, and my outbox nearly 999. the issues include messages not arriving, only after turning phone off and on again they arrive at once, not being able to delete a message while it is opened, just when looking at the inbox/outbox with the message list, internal system errors, freezes, crashes etc.
my ovi suite version is 3.1.1.90
my phones firmware version is 4.0736.3.2.1 (04-09-2007) RM-133 Nokia N73 (01)
i took the phone to my carriers service center to update the firmware to this version, as i am not able to update it myself, since it is a t-mobile (austria) branded and locked phone.
the phone is connected over a usb cable.
i did a full backup of the phone and then wanted to sync everything.
right after clicking sync all a message appeared saying sync done, some content was not synced properly.
the sync log is empty everywhere ("never synced"), and under warnings for contacts and notes it says "there was a problem with synching your..." and error code 83930001 and under messaging the same but without any error code.
any ideas what the reason for this may be?
and can i actually edit the messages (ie. delete the unimportant ones) on my pc and then sync them back with the phone so the ones i deleted get deleted on the phone as well? or at least delete them on the pc, make a backup, then hard-reset the phone and restore that slimmer backup?
if not, is there a way to dump them to a csv or text file or another format without having to install a 3rd party software?

Hi guys, i found a solution. Problem is with "Device Security Settings" on Exchange server. It looks like M4E is unable to work with some security setting.
Solution is:
1. uncheck "Allow access to device that do not fully support password settings" in Exchange System Manager console on your Exchange server.
2. add your user account to Exeptions ( this works for me )
3. uncheck only that policy, which is not working with M4E. i didnt try it.

WAP after updating N73 NOT WORKING!!

Hi guys,
i had some issues after updating my N73 ME, with not turning on and it went kind of dead, but i fixed it,,
NOW
when i tried to connect to the internet using my WAP service / web on my N73 it kept giving me a msg saying check the website and error with connection!!
i tried to re-install the service msgs but it didn't work
and by the way, i have Yahoo! GO 2.0 on my phone and it is working perfectly, so it is sth wrong with the applications not my connection!!
any solution or sth??

N73 - Not downloading phonebook to Seat Bluetooth ...

Hi there, I was wondering if some one can assist, I have paired up my N73 to my Seat Leon builtin bluetooth car kit which connects automatically, but I am unable to download the phonebook to it. I have a Nokia work phone different model that connects and download the phone book automatically.
I was just wondering if it is because the S60 operating system.
Has anyone got a fix for it, is there any software I can download??

yup, the problem is the N73 does not support Phone Book Access Profile... there were others who were successful in DL their contacts by using the application found on the link below...

I have a Nokia N73, i update the software via my laptop, now when try to tranfer some song to phone (mp3) there is msg will showing this format is not recognished, rest of features like msg/photos/contact details/ i can access but i cannot transfer mp3 songs please help

N73 not support mp3?

i bought an n73 in japan 2months ago.
the problem is,it doesnt support an mp3 format file..ihave to convert it to eAAc first,which is soooo...aaah~
n whats worse,i cant install anything into my phone.any theme,any freeware,or anythin.completely nothing...now its juz a piece of junk!!
everytime i tried to install something,i got the message,"format not supported","certificate not valid",etc2..
how to overcome this? help me please...is there anything i can do? do i have to get the codec or something or whatever~

that's whole lot of audio codec support, that is why i say this has probably something to do with the providers software that this phone has, and since this is a japanese phone, i.e. uses different band for communication, i will not recommend any changing the OS, just my 0.2 cents...

N73 not enough memory?!

Im trying to open up a pdf file at 3.2 bm big and it says not enough memory, i dont have anything else open! btw im opening it off the mini sd only 300 mb used of 2gb and theres pretty much all the memory available on the phone?! so wat gives....its a new phone!

I think a few have posted problems when using a 2gb card, maybe try a search. Sorry can't be of more help.
