N73 - Operator Settings Problem

Hi I've received settings from my operator to setup my phone automatically & they have been received in my txt inbox. When I try to open them I get the message "General: Feature Not Supported". I'm unsure why this is, the phone has the most current firmware on it. It is the standard edition if that changes anything, but I don't think it would. Would be greatful if someone could shed some light on the message I'm getting.

As i told it might not be the phone " or it might " but i've been reading through the Blyk support forum and they have their share of settings problems. on the other hand i think the N73 is one of the best handsets around so it's not a waste.

and the best way to diagnose the problem is to use another sim card from another company "if you have one", and let them send you the confiquration messages , and try that, if it worked, then it's not hte phone.

OSB::Operational Settings in the Customization File

Hi,
In OSB, I was wondering is there any way to put in the Operational Settings (like Monitoring and Aggregation Interval) as well as SLA Alerts in the Customization File that we generate from the sbconsole.
I dont seem to be getting the values as <Monitoring> is enabled or not, in the Customization File that we create.
Hope the question is clear.

You can use customization files to make changes to environment values as well as to change references within resources. It is not meant to change the Operational Settings or any other configuration.

OSB - Accessing Operational Settings within Proxy Service

Does anyone know if it is possible to access Operation Settings from within a Proxy Service?
The use case is instead of logging, we perform auditing by inserting into a database. In certain environments, we would like to turn this off. I would like to reuse the Logs logging level field to decide whether or not to audit.
So the message flow would have if (auditLevel = 'Warning') then BusinessService callout for auditing.
Doing it this way lets operations choose whether or not to audit, instead of making code changes in different environments to choose whether or not to audit.

Few months back I was also working on a similar requirement where client did not want to go for OSB configuration change (and even update) for changing the log levels or start auditing. After researching a little bit, we implemented java callout which used to read a property file and provide the value of auditing flag at runtime. We also created a java utility which used to clear the cache of server (because server loads & caches the property file after each restart). So whenever we have to make a change in auditing flag, we just change the value in property file and clear the cache of the server. This makes the fresh copy of property file available in server cache and OSB java callout picks the same.
It was quite complex but the only better solution we could find. Please let us know if you get something better.

ICal settings problem.

I have an iCal settings problem. I simply cannot change the format to 12 hours. I have repeatedly set the system to 12 hours and that works fine. I have re launched iCal several times to no avail. Running system 10.6.7 and iCal is 4.0.4. Any ideas? Thanks. Geoff.

iCal takes its format from System Preferences>Language& Text>Formats.
Click on the 'Customize' button for 'Time' and set as here:
Then drag the 'PM' button in the 'Time Elements' section to after the short time - though when I tried this it didn't appear in iCal. You may need to experiment a bit.

[Solved]Gnome settings problem

Hi all.
I have some strange problems with Gnome 3.2, it is hard to explain but these screenshots should:

In the first picture you can see that something that is selected by default is pink, this happens all over Gnome. In the second one you can see that in nautilus when I want to select with the mouse it creates a white block so you can't see behind. I know it is a settings problem because the same doesn't happen on a new account, but the problem is that I have tried to delete .gnome2/ .gconf and .config but once I start to customize again the problem reappers. So I was wondering if there is anything else that I can try to delete without deleting the whole account or if there is some settings that I could to to remove this problem.

OSB & WLST: changing operational settings for a proxy service via WLST

Hi all,
we are trying to change the operational settings for a proxy service via WLST.
In details we would like to change the "Logs" level (Monitoring section).
We have a lot of deployed services and our 'deployer people' need an automatic way (via WLST for example) for doing that instead of using the OSB console.

OSB is the Oracle Service Bus. Oracle Service Bus is a configuration-based, policy-driven enterprise service bus.
The OSB is deployed into an Oracle WebLogic Server instance.
OSB uses also WLST functionality provided by WebLogic Server.

Looks like a corrupt font.
Illustrator is more picky about fonts than any other application.

Satellite L40-14F - Display settings problem

Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite L40-14F with Intel GMA X3100 video card.
I have display settings problem, I can't change screen resolution and color quality when video card drivers are installed, screen resolution is 800 by 600 pixels and color quality is lowest 4 bits, when i uninstall video card drivers can change it. I try to install other drivers, there are the same problem :( Please help me :)

I downloaded a security update & when i tried to open firefox afterwards ,I couldn't open it. have a DEP settings problem i tried to change my computer's DEP settings but was notified i couldnt for firefox,what should I do?

I tried the uninstall & then install Firefox again route (could not even do it in safe mode since i can't even open firefox)but still had the same problem afterwards. What should I do?

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.

Global Operational settings is not found

Hi Team,
I am working on OSB 10.3.0 version. I tried to create the ALSBCustomization.xml file from one of our project Integration servers and tried to execute the same in my local setup. Once the execution done in my local, on console I am getting continuous error logs showing "global opertional settings" not found. When i searched in "create customization File" in my local. Surprisingly it is not showing "global operational settings" in "system" option. Now I have only 2 options.
1. Add the "global operational settings". (tried to create again and execute, but it is not working)
2. Remove the "ALSBcustomization.xml" (tried googling but still don't find an answer to execute the same)
Hope somebody here faced the same issue and I am looking eagerly for the solution. Expecting light fast and accurate replies from you experts.

Address book server: convergence.foobar.com port 80

LDAP tab:
Search base: o=foobar.com,o=isp
VLV search filter is the default value
VLV sort attribute is cn
Require authentication is checked
User DN pattern is uid=%s,ou=people,o=foobar.com,o=isp
Retrieve user settings from LDAP should be checked
User DN pattern is the same as under 'Require authentication'
Address book tab:
Sun Java System Address Book Server Settings needs to have iwc/svc in the right hand side.
The server tab entry for address book server will automatically be on the left side of the field.

N73 settings problem

hi hope someone can help me ive got a n73 and i cant get into the settings menu when i go to setting a message flashes up saying"unable to open settings.backup or restore in progress all the other menus work fine just wondered if any one knows ho to solve this

I just got mine back from nokia yay for them. And the same thing seems to have happened to mine i did a resore to get all my information back that i needed. EG ring tones games phone numbers etc etc. It has the latest version of firmware on. All the people from nokia over the phone seem to say to me when i rang them up was either wait for a new update to become availiable or give it back to nokia and wait for the phone to come back.
The error occurs when ever you try and open the settings. It comes up with the plain background then the error messages comes up and then returns to the main menu.
I also rang the nokia support center in Brisbane as i am closish to that their answer was send it in and we will see what we can do. Upon asking what they will do they answered that they will reflash the phone to make it the new system again. I then asked will it happen again that i will then have these errors when i do a restore from my memory card and the person said " I cant say that it wont happen again will see" Hmmm what to take out of this.
And with that i leave it with you nokia

BIOS Settings Problem on KT3 Ultra2 MS-6380E with Barton 3000+(FSB333)

Well, I finally got my Barton 3000+ with 333 MHz FSB and installed it yesterday in my MSI KT3 Ultra2 Mainboard....
System Before changing anything:
PSU: DTK 400 W
+3.3 V / 22 A
+5 V / 35 A
+12 V / 15 A
-5 V / 0.5 A
-12 V / 0.8 A
+5 V VSB / 3 A
So that should make up 400 W as far as I know, my total System drain should be around 300-350 W so even if it would not suffice 400 W it should run the system ?
Mainboard: KT3 Ultra 2 (BIOS v5.7)
CPU: AMD XP 2100 FSB 133 MHz
RAM: 1.536 MB, 3x512 MB Infineon PC3200 (400MHz) CL 3-3-3-8 @400MHz, Cl2.5-3-3-7@333Mhz, 2-2-2-6@266MHz
VGA: MSI RX-9800 Pro 128 MB
DVD/CD-R/RW-Combo: Plextor PX-708 (Firmware 1.08)
CD-R/RW: TEAC CD-W540E (Firmware 1.0K)

System was running stable for nearly 2 years with this Configuration:
So now it goes:
First I changed the CPU form my old AMD XP 2100+ to the new Barton 3000 + with its new Arctic Cool Copper Silent 2TC.
Then I went into BIOS and raised the FSB to 166 MHz, which should be the correct one, or do I have to put 167 MHz in there (since 166.666666 MHz is rounded to 167)?
Then I exited and watched the restart...but it didn't start-up it only got me 3 long beeps at the HOST.
After some whining and beating I plugged out anything and cleared CMOS and started the whole thing again:
System after Clearing CMOS:
Mainboard: KT3 Ultra 2 (BIOS v5.7)
CPU: AMD XP 3000+ FSB 100 MHz
RAM: 1x512 MB Infineon PC3200 CL 2-3-3-7 (BIOS setting CAS Latency by "SPD")
Storage: Western Digital WD800BB (80 GB) (Firmware 17.07W17)
Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 172T with Driver Version 1.0
OS: Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4
With all Default settings, the Computer boots up, and is correctly Recognized as a Barton 1300 MHz.
When increasing FSB to 133 MHz it is correctly displayed as a Barton 2200+
NOW...
...after adding one BIOS setting after another I narrowed the problem down to the "CPU Fast Command (decode)" Function...if set to Ultra it does not boot-up when running 166 MHz FSB, it does not even let me into BIOS. I have to clear CMOS and restart from scratch again...
Is this normal and expectable with a Barton 3000+ running at the native 166 MHz FSB or not ?
Since my system before was running on "Ultra" with my old AMD XP 2100+.
There is only one more thing I noticed, the CPU V-Core is shown to be only 1.616 V (setting on "Auto" but it should be 1.65 V ? Should I increase the V-Core to 1.675 V in order to get closer to 1.65 V or shouldn't I worry about ?

This setting can be set to fast/ultra on the KT3 Ultra2 when using PC2100 ram running at 266. However, when using PC2700 ram running at 333, this setting MUST be set to normal for the satisfactory operation of the board. I know that you have PC3200 ram actually installed but it is only running at 333.

How are you measuring this ie Bios or o/s utility? Not unknown that these are incorrect. However, if you feel unhappy about this, try setting the V-core manually to 1.65v and check what this gives.

Getting a more powerful psu will not likely cure this well documented problem.
However, this board mostly draws power from the 3.3 & 5v rails. The 12v is mostly used to power HDD, optical and fans. When you consider that 128Mb of ram draws about 8-10w from the 5v rail and you have a total of 1.5Gb that adds up to 96-120W of juice just for the memory alone. This board will beep at you at o/s level when it's running underpowered but my opinion is the same as osnavi's your 3.3v & 5v rails are too low. Also what is combined 3.3v & 5v wattage. What kind of reading do you get on monitoring utilities.
By the way I have as you can see from my dets below the same board and cpu as you and when I changed from a XP2000 Palomino with PC2100 ram to XP3000 Barton and PC3200, I changed the 'Fast Command' setting from 'Fast' to 'Normal'

Ideacentre operating system problem

hi all, bit of a problem which is annoying as I only got the computer today. It's an ideacentre a720.
Recently I restarted my computer in completely normal fashion, and when it turned on again it said 'missing operating system' and won't get into windows.
I tried putting in the CD i got with the computer when the computer started up, but it didn't do any good.
any ideas? can i just reset the computer to factory settings?

Yes. the system can be Recovered back to factory settings by follow this guide on your system's User Guide
But before proceeding on this,
Power Drain
           Remove the power cord and hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds.
and Reset Your Bios by
Pressing the F1 right after you press the power
     once inside BIOS Press f9 then Enter
             then Press F10 then enter
                      and that should reset your BIOS
Last is to Try resetting your system to a factory state

Opera plugin problem

The problem is following:
Opera 7.51 + Java Plugin 1.4.2
With this configuration javax.imageio.ImageIO.read(url) doesn't work from applet. The applet works nice inside Internet Explorer with the same Java Plugin, but not inside Opera.
This is a init() method of applet, the simplest of simplest. The applet is loaded, of course, from localhost. Any image formats have been tryed.

I had the same problem a few minutes ago with the following setup:
Debian GNU/Linux Sarge
Java 1.5.0.2
Opera 8.0 Beta 1 (Debian Sarge package)
I have now upgraded to Opera 8.0 Beta 3 (Debian Sarge package) and now it works. It seems Opera has fixed the problem. Can anyone confirm this?
