N73/Pc Suite issues

Hello to all, just wondering if some1 could help us.
Pc Suite connects to our phone and we can move music etc to and from phone and pc, but when we go on to nokia software updater it only gets to step 2(preparing udate- searching for connected phone) and stays on that for as long as we leave it. we've changed the cable to different usb ports, unloaded and reloaded pc Suite/updater and still no luck, Also reloaded all of pc and still no good, any suggestions any1????
We are using,-
windows Xp
Service pk2
Cable
pc suite 6.82.22.0
Cheers
Keith-carrie

Even I had similar problem , try make sure you're PC recogonises your Phone first before using software updater.
If that is working then go to Task Manager and see any of the software updater is running something like nsu_ui_client.exe...in my case i had 3 running and when I killed those it started working.
Hope this helps

  • PC Suite Issues after Firmware Upgrade of N73

    Hi,
A new Firmware finally became available for my N73. The version number of this firmware is 4.0735.3.0.2.
After upgrading my firmware, every time I connect my phone via bluetooth or USB i get the "The connected mobile phone does not have PC Suite support installed" message. When I try the Help -> Reinstall PC Suite Support option, nothing happens on the phone.
I am able to view my messages via Windows Explorer (but they do not appear in PC Suite below the phone image), do a sync with Microsoft Outlook, sync with Lifeblog, etc - no problems. The only thing that does not work is installing applications via the Nokia Application Installer. Whenever I try to install an application, I get an "Operation Failed" error on the PC, and nothing happens on the Phone. I have tried installing various apps (fring, snake, Conversation) but all result in the same error.
I have tried this in Windows Vista (with latest updates) and on a clean install of Windows XP SP2.
    Summary of my Configuration:
    Phone: N73 (RM-133)
    Product Code: 0542457
    Firmware: V 4.0735.3.0.2
    Operating System 1: Windows Vista
    PC Suite Version: 6.85.14.1
    Bluetooth Stack: IVT BlueSoleil 5.0.5.178
Operating System 2: Windows XP SP2
    PC Suite Version: 6.83.14.1
Bluetooth Stack: Standard Microsoft Bluetooth Stack
Has anybody experienced similar issues? Can anybody help me? Any help will be appreciated.

I have never had such issues with my N73 - same firmware on three different systems. I have upgraded the firmware 4 or 5 times. The fact that your phone refuses to install via Application Installer makes me think that there is some issue with the phone itself - corrupted temp folder or something. If the problem irritates you too much, backup the phone and do hard reset (hold *, Green key and 3 while powering on).

  • Nokia N73 & PC Suite 6.82.22.0

I recently purchased a Nokia N73 from 3 Australia, and installed PC Suite from the CD, and upgraded to PC Suite 6.82.22.0 During one of the installs my computer had a problem and seemed to hang the installation (it stalled for some five minutes before I stopped the install). I re-installed PC Suite and everything seemed fine, except that when I connected my N73 by cable, the 'new hardware' wizard appears to load in the 'Nokia USB modem'. It tries, and fails, to load this twice, and then the PC Suite software and the System Tray icon (little phone) both show the phone as not connected. However all PC Suite applications are available and working correctly. I have tried uninstalling PC Suite, rebooting, and re-installing PC suite with no better success, then reading other posts I used PC Suite Cleaner, and then reinstalled PC Suite. The very first connection was great, system tray icon changed to little green orb, and PC Suite then said connected. Sometime after that i must have rebooted the system (or at least disconnected the cable) and now PC Suite will not indicate the phone is connected although all PC Suite options (sync, backup, contacts etc) are available. What can I do to resolve this issue? I have WinXP Home with Service pack 2, PC Suite 6.82.22.0, and Nokia CA-53 cable. I normally used it through a USB hub, but even connecting it direct to the computer USB port makes no difference (the drivers are 'installed' and hardware is ready to use) Abes

    Check this:
Open Control Panel > system > hardware > Device manager >
when phone is connected -> can you find this:
    "Wireless Communication Devices
    1 Nokia N73 USB Generic
    2 Nokia N73 USB OBEX
    3 Nokia N73 USB OBEX
    4 Nokia N73 USB OBEX
5 Nokia N73 USB Phone Parent
Or is there "Unknown Device" only??
And check also Modems and Ports -> can find your phone from there (and is there yellow marks)??
If everything is OK in device manager, see my message from here (and try it):

  • N73 / PC Suite 6.82.22.0 / Restore problems

I safely backed up all my phone's data via data cable before upgrading the software on my phone (again, via data cable). All went well and the software upgrade was fine.
But on restoring it only puts the multimedia data back on there. So I only have pictures/sounds etc, but no contacts, notes, calendar... I'm absolutely desperate to get this data back.
When doing the restore I have three restore options. 2 old ones from my old (6600?) phone (about 2mb each) and a large one (26mb) for my N73 - as it has a much higher quality camera the files are bigger. However, when I actually go to the folder where those update files are kept (.nfb files?) there are only the two old backup files.
But the data must be somewhere on my system as it updates all the pictures and videos perfectly.
It's also worth noting that I've tried rebooting both my phone and my PC several times but without success. And every time i turn on my phone it asks for the time and date, as if it were the first time I've ever turned it on.
System info below. Any help anyone can give would be *really* gratefully received.

    Microsoft Windows XP
    Build 2600
    Service Pack 2

    Bluetooth stack:
    Microsoft Bluetooth stack
    Version 5.1.2600
    Build 2180

I've tried updating the contacts, notes and calendar from a previous backup in february and that seems to work. So I have most of my numbers now.
But I've lost all numbers, notes and important diary updates that I've input into my phone since february.
Also, since the phone software update it asks for time and date every time I turn it on, which is really annoying.
    Any ideas?

  • Database Adapter Connection to EBusiness Suite Issue

I have a process that creates records in the EBusiness Suite using the BPEL Database Adapter. The adapter calls a single wrapper procedure that internally calls 4 TCA APIs one after the other. There appears to be an USERENV LANG issue during the final api that is called. The LANG needs to be US but the SQL Worksheet in JDeveloper BPEL Designer returns GB which I suspect is the value the adapter has when it connects to the eBusiness Suite.
How can the value of the LANG be set for the adapter ? My Environment variable for NLS_LANG is set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1. My various Oracle homes are also set to this value.
I have also tried FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE procedure to effectively 'log on' to the EBS but this returns an error. The same wrapper package called directly from SQL*Plus works perfectly (where USERENV LANG is US). Solutions welcome !

The issue was resolved by adding the following to the start of the wrapper procedure:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_LANGUAGE = ''AMERICAN''';

  • Adobe Suite issues

I have installed the Adobe CS5 suite on my external hard drive ( MAC OS X Liom) to save room on my MacBook Pro. When I start from the external hard drive, I can open all the adobe applications that were installed. When I try to open inDesign CS5.5  from the MacBook Pro (MAC OS X Snow leopard) I get the error message,
Before I changed the hard drive to Lion, I was able to open inDesign without any issues.
I have removed all the Adobe Applications with the cleaner and reinstalled them. I can open Photoshop CS5.1 on the Macbook Pro but not inDesign.
What is the issue? Does it have anything to do with MAC OS X Lion?

Oh. One more thing. I realize I did not deactivate the product on the backup. Could that be the issue?

  • Vista SP2 + PC Suite issue?

    Hi..
Have recently performed a fresh install of Vista Ultimate SP2 (x86).  After installing PC Suite, I noticed a change in 'My Computer' when my N95 is connected.
Previously, when right clicking on the phone name in 'My Computer' and then selecting properties, Explorer would display some information on the handset but now..it shows nothing and the display icon has changed too.  More importantly, when double clicking the icon, I used to be able to view my handset C and E drives in order to copy data from and to the device.
Here's how things used to be:
    Here's how things are now:
The first two screenshots were taken from XP but they're only to highlight what I used to see when using Vista with SP1.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
    Thanks

Hmmm well it wasn't sorted afterall.  After a disconnecting/reconnecting the handset, the same thing happened but I worked out why.
For some unknown reason, when using Nokia PC Suite v7.1.30.8 or Nokia PC Suite v7.1.30.9, Windows Update needs to be running when connecting the handset so Microsoft User-Mode Driver Framework Install-v1.7-Vista.msu can be installed.  If Windows Update isn't running, the event log shows these errors and I get the same problems as detailed in my first post:
The Windows update could not be installed because of an error: 2147943458 "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\system32\wusa.exe" "C:\Windows\Temp\WDFEEC1.tmp\Microsoft User-Mode Driver Framework Install-v1.7-Vista.msu" /quiet /norestart")
However, when I uninstall those versions, run PC Suite cleaner and install Nokia PC Suite v7.1.26.0, everything works perfectly and Windows Update does not need to be running when connecting the phone.
I can't think why this software was designed to do this as many people like to tweak certain services for various reasons...although I do have a vLited Vista installation so there is a chance it's down to a missing component but I only removed the additional languages, some non-related drivers, natural language plus made the install unattended so not sure if that's the issue or not.
Any chance someone else can experiment a little please?
    Thanks

  • Nokia N73 + Pc suite (backup from phone mem to mem...

I've got an n73 with a 1gb mini sd card.
I used the mem card to backup the phone memory and now when I go to restore it back to the phone I get an error "start up failed please contact retailer"
I've managed to fix that error via a Master reset (3* and green button on power up). I think that the data on the mem car is corrupt, however I've got all my contacts on there, is there any way that PC suite can read the backup data on the mem card.
    I hope this makes sense.
    Thanks
    Umster

Access the Card using a Memory Card Reader Via PC. You should get the files on it. Copy the file from the Backup folder (make sure "show hidden files is set to On" in Folder Options under Tools in Windows Explorer) to a Safe Place on you PC. Format the Card with the Usb Reader & then format the Card again with the Phone.
Connect the Card via USB & select Mass Storage Mode. Transfer the File you copied earlier to the Backup folder on it. Click "Safely remove Hardware" Icon in the Taskbar. Select the USB Device & click Stop using this Device. Disonnect the Cable when Windows notifies you that it is now safe to remove the Device.
Again Connect the Cable in PC Suite mode. Use PC suite to restore your Backup.
    Ravi.

  • N73 and RAM issues. still....HELP!

So i've been on here a while. Read a lot of different posts, help where i can. Now i really hope someone with expertise can help me out.
My N73 is using up all it's RAM, again! I'm getting those messages about 'Memory Low. Delete some Data". It's even getting to the point where i can't receive emails or texts because my memory is then FULL!
Let me state some things first:
    1. I have the latest FW.
    2. I have all my texts/contacts/music etc on my Memory card, nothing is on my phone memory.
    3. I regularly close out my apps by selecting Options and Exit. I even hold down the menu button and close any apps that show up there too.
Now i was using the Internet alot over the weekend and charging the phone regularly, but leaving it on. I had heard that this doesn't Reboot the phone. So i've turned it off, taken out the battery, let it charge off and on, lots of different options.
I use Opera 4 as my browser and have deleted the Cookies and cleared the History, which is think is Opera's 'Cache'.
I'm really fed up now. I haven't heard of any other 'fixes'. Please, any ideas???
    cs.

Yes, it is really come close to Windows on that matter, isn't it Symbian!!?. All of us, for once in a while have to come to this conclusion. I stop counting the number of HR since the day with my beloved 6600. Not to mention the older one 3660.
I reformat my windows once in a 6-8 months. I used to do that too on my buggy N91, but its 8GB version does not give me much of that pain yet I reformat its C drive once in a month.
So far I am not interested in storing messages.
Here is what I do to avoid using PC Suit (just in my case).
Go to contatcs, mark them all. Choose the option copy to hard disk in OTHERS folder.Copy them all.
Then I copy them to my PC using mass storage mode.Next time I Hard reset the phone, I just have to copy the contacts from HDD.
In case of reformat the HDD, as I told before I switch my phone to USB mode and then just copy the contacts folder stored on my PC and then the reverse thing.
    I love hard reset.

  • E66 PC Suite issue

When I use the Nokia PC suite to connect to my e66 I am unable to change the default location of where I want to store files (music etc). Only the internal phone memory is visible and not the memory card.
I have updated the PC Suite software, but am still having the same issue. Any ideas how I can get the data card visible so I can transfer my music to it?
    Thanks

Looks like E66 has lot of issues. I am surprised that Nokia has not made available an update for the firmware!!!.
    1. When you connect your phone to PC suite, you memory card vanishes, from then own it is busy!!! until the phone is reset. If you don't reset the phone soon, the memory card is corrupt!!!
    2. You try to access Nokia Maps, the phone hangs and then nothing works from then own. You have to remove the battery and plug it back in.
    3. I am seeing a lot of posts on problem with call log...
Request Nokia to make an update with fixes available soon...

  • N73 PC Suite connection problem

I have installed the latest version of PC Suite 6.81.13.0 and when the program asks me to connect the phone, I connect via Nokia USB CA-53 cable and select the PC Suite option on the handset. At this point the "Connect cable" dialogue box hangs and the "Next" option is greyed out. The cursor shows the egg timer to indicate it is waiting and the Help, Back and Exit buttons are all working ok.
I am using a AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual core 3800+
    Can you help please?

I am having exactly the same problem as this. in my case it has worked fine in the past.
The connection process hangs at the point described in the earlier post.
I do not see the phone anywhere in Device manager.
The N73 DOES prompt me to choose the connection type when I connect the cable, and I choose "PC Suite".
I have a Dell Dimension 3100, Windows XP Pro, latest patches/SP.
The phone is connected directly to a USB port on the machine - no hubs.
I am running the latest PC Suite (I upgraded to see if it would fix the problem but it didn't).
All my other USB devices work fine.
Windows shows no indication that a device has been connected (no system tray alerts etc), and PC Suite just hangs presumably waiting for a connection. From the phone end it knows it is connected.
