N73 rollback firmware

From curiousity i've installed the newest firmware for my n73, but now i have problems. From time to time, i can't call anybody, because the green button don't work propertly. In the main screen, when i'll press the green button, it listed my dialed numbers, but when i want to call some of them, i can't. I must go to options->voice call... I also have problem from time to time with my sim cart. From nowhere is written on my main screen: Please insert your sim cart...  I've reinstalled the firmware but after 2 days, the same problems start again.
I've tried with 3button restart but this don't help me..
Also my batery is not OK. It's fully charged, and in the middle of conversation, the telephone beep for low batery. This was 3 hours ago. Now my batery is almost fully charged, without pluging in electricity.
My firware version is:4.0839.42.0.1
So i need help
Please

The problem with your Call button is only a firmware bug [You can observe that if that problem creeps in, you can still use your speed dial, or type in a number and dial using the Call button]. Unfortunately, it is not fixed in the latest firmware as well. All that can be done is to wait patiently until they release a firmware that contains the fix. The problem can be solved temporarily by restarting your phone. And, avoid disconnecting a call before it's picked up, if you're dialling from your Contacts or Call Log.
Once you upgrade your firmware you cannot roll back to a previous version by yourself.
Cheers,

  • Rollback firmware (zen vision m 60

    hi guys
im after an opinion as to whether i should risk rolling back my firmware from .2 to . (thanks for posting the link to the download by the way, you forum guys are awesome) in order to get Fm recording. i was all nice and organised when i first got my zen and upgraded to .2 straight away and now have just learnt i've lost fm recording ability. as far as i know theres 2 ways of doing it:
    a) open the firmware file and when the box says it might corrupt music files because its an older version, click 'continue'
    b) reset the player and select 'delete firmware' then put on the old one
just wondering if anyones done this and if it works? im assuming the 60gb model came with fm recording origionally..
    g

ok ill reply to myself (mr popular eh..)
the rollback worked fine so if anyone out theres considering it then go for it, despite saying it may corrupt files. in my case it was fine. problem was it hasnt enabled me to record fm radio (thus all those hours tracking down the old firmware were futile! - except for creating this post of course). this therefore means that despite what some forums say it seems like the 60gb vision m was never able to record fm (could someone from CL confirm this for me?). that is unless of course, i need an older firmware version...
hope this helps anyone out there

  • Problem with N73 after firmware update

Recently I tried to update the firmware on my Nokia n73. Somehow the cable got disconnected and the phone died. I read everything on the topic here and went directly to the nearest NCS. There they repaired my phone and updated the firmware to V3.0638.0.0.30 (everything else shown after *#0000# is: 30-10-2006, RM-133, Nokia N73 (05)). But after that, I noticed that when I press the multimedia button, it opens directly the music player, instead of a list of applications. Also when I hold down the menu button it shows both the standby icon and the music one. My problem is that I mostly use the camera, not the music player, and it seems (to me) that it slows the phone down (especially when going through the image gallery). So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to close the music player, or at least how to change back the multimedia button to a list of applications. I am using the standard 128mb miniSD. Thanks in advance and cheers from Bulgaria.

    - Go to Music shop

  • Problem of N73 latest firmware vs GPS receiver

Hi guys, I just upgraded my N73 to latest version(V4.0726.2.01))and I find a serious problem. The GPS software R66 in my N73 can never recive the singal from GPS receiver(NAVIBE732) again! I just wonder whether it is NOKIA to change the parameters that force NOKIA mobile phone only can be connected to their own GPS receiver, such as LD-3W! What do you think about it? Is there anybody have solution?

As far as i know, there is no way to use other GPS Receivers than Nokia ones, with the new firmware. Hope it gets fixed soon.

  • Need to rollback firmware on N97 PLEASE HELP

PLEASE! PLEASE someone help me to go back to v11
My phone restarts every 60 seconds after updating to v12.
I don't have time to do hard reset.
I need to rollback the firmware.. but how?

First of all, if you did the update via NSU then try and re-install the firmware. That might well solve the problem.
If not, you need to try a reset.
If the reset still doesn't cure the problem then you need to take the phone to a Nokia Care Point. Only they can roll back the firmware. There might, however, be something wrong with the phone anyway, and they might be able to put that right.

  • Need to know how to rollback firmware - wrt54gs

Hey as you've read i have the wrt54gs v6 firmware v. 1.52.2 and have been expieriencing these internet connect drops randomly so i'd like to rollback the firmware to the original 1.02.2. I've got the .bin file for the original firmware from the sticky posted in this forum but i've tried using the firmware upgrade routine and it told me "upgrade are failed!" so can some one plz tell me how to properly rollback the firmware?

This router had new 1.52.5 firmware released on 3/3/08.  I would suggest you try the new firmware, rather than rolling back your firmware.
If it will not load, use the tftp.exe program to load the new firmware.  Instructions for this are located at:

  • N73 new firmware??

im told there is a new version out, but im struggling to find it.
has anyone used it? where did they get it? and has it solved the bluetooth issues?
    nokia N95

    Hi all,
I have to share my extremely bad experience with all of you who are thinking of buying any nokia phones.
I bought a N73 2 months ago and as most of you know, the phone has a bug with the bluetooth GPS connection, which needs a firmware update to correct the problem.
I brought my phone to the "Old Street Nokia repair centre" in London to have it updated. The stupid woman told me that it will take 1 hour. I left my phone there, 3 hours later, they told me that the firmware updae has failed because they have used the wrong cable.
Okay... that's rediculous, but, more to come...
I moaned a bit but let them send it back to nokia to have it fixed. She said that it can take up to 2 weeks!!! but normally be back in 2-3 days. I trusted her, waited and waited. Nothing is returned until today - 3 weeks from the day I took it for the update.
I was so annoyed about the wait and I have asked that stupid lady to make sure nokia update the firmware for me before they return it, otherwise, i have waited for 3 weeks for nothing!!!
I phoned her twice to remind her, and she said she has asked. Then, this morning, she said to me, oh sorry, the phone was not updated, what do i wanna do?
She said that she prefers not to update it because she messed it up last time. I have written to nokia about the incident and complain about the quality of their repair centre, Nokia replies and said that the shop has followed the correct procedure and nothing can be done!!!
My advice to everyone is... DO NOT BUY FROM NOKIA

  • N73 - new firmware out?

    Hello!
I've seen a new firmware-version for my phone,
    my Version is V 2.0628.0.0.1
    i've seen V 2.0628.0.0.3
but the N73 isn't in the phone software update. When is the new firmware available? Or is the .0.0.3 no offical update?
    Thx in advance for answers
    Yuloc

grey area, i totally disagree with both of your points. With that many posts under your belt, i would have thought you would have something constructive for the customers to take positive out of, but you've failed us just like Nokia.
I don't want to wait 12 months for the "final working version" of a firmware to be released.
Take the N73, everyone knows the v3 fixes a lot of problems, it is available for some variants of the N73, but it should be available for all variants at the SAME time.
This is not an issue of waiting for the perfect firmware to fix everything on a phone, its about the gradual fixes along the way. The v3 firmware fixes the bluetooth for example, so i want that now, not wait upto 12 months for a fix to appear in a final firmware that fixes all problems.
I bought a 12 month contract, and if you expect anyone to wait upto a whole year for a firmware to be released to fix my phone your in cloud cuckoo land.
My Phone is unbranded, so it doesn't require any network invervention to ok the firmware, ONLY nokia is needed to release the v3 firmware for (xx.xx) variants, and have they done that? Have they hell, and any communication? None what so ever. Nokia's Logo should be : NOKIA - disconnecting peopleMessage Edited by sharpharp on 29-Nov-2006

  • N73 update firmware

    hi all,
i just want to find out any firmware update for my n73.
My phone details are given below. pls reply me
    V3.0638.0.0.1 / 30-10-2006 / RM-133 /
    Nokia N73(08) / code: 0529785

You could, but you really want to think about it if you actually want to.
Internet Edition is only available in APAC (Asian Pacific) meaning you only get asian/chinese/english language. You would also have to modify your product code (which voids your warranty) and if something goes wrong during updating you're really screwed (won't be covered by warranty) unless you can flash 'back' which can be done but is risky.
Also if the update DOES work but you're not happy with the new firmware (read about issues when updating to ME/Internet editions with some people) you can't easily flash it back. Same as above, it IS possible but not easy.
Basically, unless you're very comfortable with the flashing of phones and screwing up your phone is not THAT big an issue to you I would stay away from it...

  • Where is my n73 new firmware update

i heard that new firmware for n73 was released from nokia (V4.0723.2.0.1/06.06.07)and i tried to update my n73 firmware, but my NSU keep telling me that i already install latest firmware and i check on my phone, but that too disappointed that my n73 still not up to date (V3.0704.1.0.1). I want my n73 firmware to be update. It's not fair to users like me.
I hope nokia will overcome this problem.. I want my n73 firmware to be update.

Hi rouin - Although Nokia has released an updated firmware for the N73, it will only be for a certain product codes (you can find your product code under your battery compartment).
If you received your phone as part of a contract then your phone will be tied in to that network operator - e.g. Vodafone, Orange and so on. If this is the case then you will have to wait until they authorise the release of the firmware for the N73 - there's no way around this unfortunately.
