N73 settings problem

hi hope someone can help me ive got a n73 and i cant get into the settings menu when i go to setting a message flashes up saying"unable to open settings.backup or restore in progress all the other menus work fine just wondered if any one knows ho to solve this

I just got mine back from nokia yay for them. And the same thing seems to have happened to mine i did a resore to get all my information back that i needed. EG ring tones games phone numbers etc etc. It has the latest version of firmware on. All the people from nokia over the phone seem to say to me when i rang them up was either wait for a new update to become availiable or give it back to nokia and wait for the phone to come back.
The error occurs when ever you try and open the settings. It comes up with the plain background then the error messages comes up and then returns to the main menu.
I also rang the nokia support center in Brisbane as i am closish to that their answer was send it in and we will see what we can do. Upon asking what they will do they answered that they will reflash the phone to make it the new system again. I then asked will it happen again that i will then have these errors when i do a restore from my memory card and the person said " I cant say that it wont happen again will see" Hmmm what to take out of this.
And with that i leave it with you nokia

N73 - Operator Settings Problem

Hi I've received settings from my operator to setup my phone automatically & they have been received in my txt inbox. When I try to open them I get the message "General: Feature Not Supported". I'm unsure why this is, the phone has the most current firmware on it. It is the standard edition if that changes anything, but I don't think it would. Would be greatful if someone could shed some light on the message I'm getting.

As i told it might not be the phone " or it might " but i've been reading through the Blyk support forum and they have their share of settings problems. on the other hand i think the N73 is one of the best handsets around so it's not a waste.

and the best way to diagnose the problem is to use another sim card from another company "if you have one", and let them send you the confiquration messages , and try that, if it worked, then it's not hte phone.

ICal settings problem.

I have an iCal settings problem. I simply cannot change the format to 12 hours. I have repeatedly set the system to 12 hours and that works fine. I have re launched iCal several times to no avail. Running system 10.6.7 and iCal is 4.0.4. Any ideas? Thanks. Geoff.

iCal takes its format from System Preferences>Language& Text>Formats.
Click on the 'Customize' button for 'Time' and set as here:
Then drag the 'PM' button in the 'Time Elements' section to after the short time - though when I tried this it didn't appear in iCal. You may need to experiment a bit.

[Solved]Gnome settings problem

Hi all.
I have some strange problems with Gnome 3.2, it is hard to explain but these screenshots should:

In the first picture you can see that something that is selected by default is pink, this happens all over Gnome. In the second one you can see that in nautilus when I want to select with the mouse it creates a white block so you can't see behind. I know it is a settings problem because the same doesn't happen on a new account, but the problem is that I have tried to delete .gnome2/ .gconf and .config but once I start to customize again the problem reappers. So I was wondering if there is anything else that I can try to delete without deleting the whole account or if there is some settings that I could to to remove this problem.

Satellite L40-14F - Display settings problem

Hi,
I have Toshiba Satellite L40-14F with Intel GMA X3100 video card.
I have display settings problem, I can't change screen resolution and color quality when video card drivers are installed, screen resolution is 800 by 600 pixels and color quality is lowest 4 bits, when i uninstall video card drivers can change it. I try to install other drivers, there are the same problem :( Please help me :)

I downloaded a security update & when i tried to open firefox afterwards ,I couldn't open it. have a DEP settings problem i tried to change my computer's DEP settings but was notified i couldnt for firefox,what should I do?

My computer told me I had a DEP settings problem.I tried to change my computer's DEP settings but was notified i couldn't for firefox. I tried the uninstall & then install Firefox again route (could not even do it in safe mode since i can't even open firefox)but still had the same problem afterwards. What should I do?

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

N73 Memory Problems

Has anyone had any issues with the memory on the N73? I have deleted all the data on my phone, and backed it up on to my PC, I have saved everything to my memory card. My memory card is only 1/4 full and my phone memory is empty, yet my phone is still telling me that there is no memory & I need to delete data.
It now wont even let me recieve text messages because it says there is no memory! There is nothing left for me to delete!!
I have restored the phone to factory settings too.
HELP!!!!

I had the same problem before but I was able to solve it...It is about Lifeblog. I dont have problem regarding the phone memory anymore. You will need 2 apps to install in your phone. (1)"JBak Taskman v.99" and (2)"Xplore". You can download these apps from mosh.nokia.com. Just follow the instructions in the link below. You can completely disable LifeBlog w/ this link:

N73 Sim Problem

I keep getting these messages on the screen of my Nokia N73 saying 'Sim Card Registration Failed'.
I am having no other problems, and can make calls and send messages fine. Anyone know what the problem might be?
Any advise or info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I can't belive how many people have this simular problem. At this minute I am in Latvia and roaming on LV LMT with problems, back home (England and on orange) it works reasonably ok. What its doing at the minute is to get coverage I have to turn off the phone and restart which is a **bleep** pain. I now have altered the settings to GSM only and its working better but it will not send my last few texts and it comes up in the right top corner as sending under way and its just stuck there. Any answers anyone?? Oh and has anyone had this problem....... When the phone rings, the screen looks like its fused as you try answer the call and all the buttons freeze????? I phoned Orange and they told me to remove a voiceover in my ring tone settings. Have I bought a can of worms?

N73 bluetooth problem

I can't find any bluetooth devices with my new phone at all, but other bluetooth devices can find mine and pair with it. Bluetooth is turned on and the phone is visible to others. I have this on vodafone and have even tried resetting to the phones original settings.
The firmware I have ends with 0.0.1
Any help would be appreciated.

You will only be able to find other bluetooth devices, such as headsets, when they are in 'pair'-mode. So, if it's a headset you're looking for, please set it to 'pair'-mode first (see instruction manual for more information). Normally, PC's should always be discoverable by default. However, there is a slight chance that yours isn't. Check your driver settings to see if your PC is 'discoverable'. Note that 'discoverable' is sometimes called 'visible'.

Your current firmware does sometimes have the problem you're describing, and it is fixed in the aforementioned version of the firmware.
My phone has the same firmware (except that it's a 57.02-model) and does NOT have this problem, but there are many complaints from people with this version who do have this issue. So, if your phone still fails to discover any devices, even after you (double-)checked their discoverability, you should have your firmware updated.
Unfortunately, as it stands, you cannot as yet use NSU to update the firmware yourself, as Nokia/Vodafone haven't released this newer V3.0638.0.0.1-version on NSU yet. I mention Vodafone here because they also have responsibility in your case, as your phone is Vodafone Live UK-branded...

Plug in settings problem

Hey all
I have a slight problem...
I have transferred all my software from my old mac to my new mac, and now i don't seem to have a single plug in setting for any of my logic plug ins... or any other one for that matter!!!
I do, however, have several folders called plug in settings with subfolders for each instrument (seems like they were from old versions of logic i had previously installed), but nothing inside the folders.

1. What's the correct file structure for logic plug in settings in logic pro 7.1?
2. Can i re-install plug in settings only from my install disc or a user site online?

I have managed to find some plug in settings from an old logic 6 install disc.
However, i upgraded from 6 to 7, and on the upgrade disc i cant see any plug in settings folder. There is the option to reinstall logic, or to install factory sampler instruments and samples, but nothing about the plug in settings - so where can i find the logic 7 plug in settings without reinstalling the whole programme? Where they on a separate install disc that i have forgotten about?

BIOS Settings Problem on KT3 Ultra2 MS-6380E with Barton 3000+(FSB333)

Well, I finally got my Barton 3000+ with 333 MHz FSB and installed it yesterday in my MSI KT3 Ultra2 Mainboard....
System Before changing anything:
PSU: DTK 400 W
+3.3 V / 22 A
+5 V / 35 A
+12 V / 15 A
-5 V / 0.5 A
-12 V / 0.8 A
+5 V VSB / 3 A
So that should make up 400 W as far as I know, my total System drain should be around 300-350 W so even if it would not suffice 400 W it should run the system ?

CPU: AMD XP 2100 FSB 133 MHz

System was running stable for nearly 2 years with this Configuration:
So now it goes:
First I changed the CPU form my old AMD XP 2100+ to the new Barton 3000 + with its new Arctic Cool Copper Silent 2TC.
Then I went into BIOS and raised the FSB to 166 MHz, which should be the correct one, or do I have to put 167 MHz in there (since 166.666666 MHz is rounded to 167)?
Then I exited and watched the restart...but it didn't start-up it only got me 3 long beeps at the HOST.
After some whining and beating I plugged out anything and cleared CMOS and started the whole thing again:
System after Clearing CMOS:
Mainboard: KT3 Ultra 2 (BIOS v5.7)
CPU: AMD XP 3000+ FSB 100 MHz
RAM: 1x512 MB Infineon PC3200 CL 2-3-3-7 (BIOS setting CAS Latency by "SPD")
Storage: Western Digital WD800BB (80 GB) (Firmware 17.07W17)
Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster 172T with Driver Version 1.0
OS: Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4
With all Default settings, the Computer boots up, and is correctly Recognized as a Barton 1300 MHz.
When increasing FSB to 133 MHz it is correctly displayed as a Barton 2200+
NOW...
...after adding one BIOS setting after another I narrowed the problem down to the "CPU Fast Command (decode)" Function...if set to Ultra it does not boot-up when running 166 MHz FSB, it does not even let me into BIOS. I have to clear CMOS and restart from scratch again...
Is this normal and expectable with a Barton 3000+ running at the native 166 MHz FSB or not ?
Since my system before was running on "Ultra" with my old AMD XP 2100+.
There is only one more thing I noticed, the CPU V-Core is shown to be only 1.616 V (setting on "Auto" but it should be 1.65 V ? Should I increase the V-Core to 1.675 V in order to get closer to 1.65 V or shouldn't I worry about ?

This setting can be set to fast/ultra on the KT3 Ultra2 when using PC2100 ram running at 266. However, when using PC2700 ram running at 333, this setting MUST be set to normal for the satisfactory operation of the board. I know that you have PC3200 ram actually installed but it is only running at 333.

How are you measuring this ie Bios or o/s utility? Not unknown that these are incorrect. However, if you feel unhappy about this, try setting the V-core manually to 1.65v and check what this gives.

Getting a more powerful psu will not likely cure this well documented problem.
However, this board mostly draws power from the 3.3 & 5v rails. The 12v is mostly used to power HDD, optical and fans. When you consider that 128Mb of ram draws about 8-10w from the 5v rail and you have a total of 1.5Gb that adds up to 96-120W of juice just for the memory alone. This board will beep at you at o/s level when it's running underpowered but my opinion is the same as osnavi's your 3.3v & 5v rails are too low. Also what is combined 3.3v & 5v wattage. What kind of reading do you get on monitoring utilities.
By the way I have as you can see from my dets below the same board and cpu as you and when I changed from a XP2000 Palomino with PC2100 ram to XP3000 Barton and PC3200, I changed the 'Fast Command' setting from 'Fast' to 'Normal'

System Settings - Problem: New Window occurs

Hi all,
can you help me? - If I start "Systemeinstellungen" (System settings?) and change to "Network" a new window occurs with the text: "Ihre Netzwerkeinstellungen wurden von einem anderen Programm geändert" (your network-settings were changed by a different programme). I can choose "OK" and the window disappeares but it will appear immediately again and again...
What can I do to solve this problem?

This post by ejp1684 seems to have offer a solution:
Once in the network prefs and the popup appears, place your mouse over the place where the "Show All" button is (behind the popup). Then, hit Return - which gets rid of the window and immediately the window is gone, click on the 'Show All" button. I then get a window asking me to save etc, the changes. You can click on any of them and you should be back in the prefs window. Then, when you select the Network prefs, you should be able to change things. If this doesn't work, I found that I had to use the mouse button to click on both the "OK" button on the popup, and then quickly switch to the "Show All" button - took me a few times to do it!
Even if you can't change the settings, at least you won't have to do a hard shutdown.

N73 Network Problem or Phone Problem?

Hi,
My phone is a Nokia N73 and I'm very happy with it. However, my problem is, the signal of my phone is full but I'm having a hard time on sending SMS messages when I'm inside the house.
The signal (Bars on the upper left side) are full, which means I have a lot but still can't send and receive.
I receive messages but they are late 30 minutes and above.
What do i do? I love my phone.... =(

Form settings problem

Hi Experts
I have a user defined form with 4 folders inside each folder there is a matrix(total 4 matrix). But my problem is that when i select form settings every time first matrix form settings will be displayed. I have to access the form settings of other three matrix also. Any ideas on how I can do this..please help me

Hi,
You can display settings for other matrixes. You need to change Form.Settings. Just assign matrix unique id which You want to display in Form settings to form's propoerty MatrixUID.
