N75 and MicroSDHC cards

Does anyone know if the N75 is compatible with the MicroSDHC cards? I'd like to buy an 8GB card, but I want to know that it's going to work properly before I do.

Hi jkhagens
Unfortunately your N75 is NOT microSDHC compatible, here is a list of such Nokia devices:

  • 6120 classic and microSDHC card??

I have seen a few posts around saying that people have got the newer Sandisk microSDHC cards to work in their 6120c.
There are a couple of great deals on the new Sandisk 8GB microSDHC cards around and I'd love to get one if someone can confirm they will work.
If you go to the Sandisk website they say it will, but Nokia say it won't. I can only assume that Sandisk should have tested the card in the phone before making this claim. And the phone was released before the cards were available so Nokia may not have tested them.
Can someone verify this all, once and for all??
This would make my ipod virtually obsolete.

    Hi All,
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I went out and bought myself a SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Class 2 and it works perfectly with my Nokia 6120c. The guy at the store said that 8GB microSDHC was the maximum capicity supported (/ tested???) by the 6120c.
Just to be sure, I updated the phone firmware to 5.11 and backed up all phone contents prior to putting in the new memcard.
Hope this post helps some one else...

  • System won't recognize microSDHC card

I just purchased a SanDisk 4 GB microSDHC card to use with my phone. I tried to connect it to my mac via the front USB port in order to load some music & pics on it. I am not able to get the finder to locate the card, however. I have gone into finder general preferences, and all boxes are checked to show items on the desktop (my external drives show up on the desktop just fine). I went into disk utility to try and format it, but it doesn't show up there. When I go into the system profiler, I can see it as "MobileMate Micro" on the USB device tree, but otherwise cannot seem to get to it.
The reader I'm using is the one that came with the card, so that shouldn't be an issue. I have a PowerPC G5, running 10.4.11. Hopefully someone has an idea how to make this work. Thanks in advance!
    Tanya

I'm in the exact same boat, only difference is that I'm using my card with a Canon Digital Rebel. I can get the images to download to my computer only when I connect the camera and use the software that came with the camera to download. It won't even do that if I just stick the memory card into my Belkin card reader. I have an old SanDisk 256mb card that I stuck in the reader and that one worked (it was formated on a PC, I don't know if that makes any difference).
So yeah, this is really rather frustrating to me, especially because now I have to take out my huge-bum SLR camera and connect it through a USB cable.

  • HP Pavillion dv6-1245dx problems writing to MicroSDHC card - errors

I've purcahsed two different brands of MicroSDHC 32GB cards. They will allow me to write 1-2GB of info before giving me an error code: 0x80070052. I was using Windows 7 and read that this was an issue that was going to be resolved in Windows 8, so I installed Windows 8 on my laptop (It's legitimate through Microsoft's MSDN program).
I went looking for product specifications for my laptop on the HP site and it just gives this vague answer: 5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader for Secure Digital cards, MultiMedia cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, or xD Picture cards.
It doesn't specify SD, MicroSD, MicroSDHC or any variation. I am inclined to believe that the laptop doesn't support cards as large as 32GB. The largest card I've ever tried before this was an standard size 8GB SDHC, so at least I know it will handle the SDHC part. However, I have had issues with 32GB USB drives as well, where the drive gets half full and then starts having problems writing (no error codes though).
I'd like to know if MicroSDHC cards as large as 32GB are or aren't supported before I commit to purchasing a third card. I've tried multiple adapters as well, so I know it's not 1) Me trying to stick a tiny card in a large hole, 2) poor contact between the adapter and the laptop, or 3) poor contact between the card and the adapter.
    Thank you.

card readers are prone to problems with the internal contacts, particularly multi-card readers. If you get a card inserted a little  bit wrong it can cause it to go out. HP should warrant the problem but if you can't get relief, the expresscard multi-readers are cheap and work well. My laptop has no built in card reader so that is what I use.

  • MicroSDHC Cards GB-Sizes for the N81

    hi there,
i got a n81 (non 8gb) with this usefull microsdhc-slot. my dealer offers me to get a 8gb microsdhc-card (brand: sandisk). the testing shows "bad work". no chance to get a positive message. i read in a discussion, that 6gb card (can) work fine.
q1: will there be a hint or barrier by using 8gb microsdhc-cards?
q2: is it "blocked" by the firmware, because for "pushing" the n81-8gb-version at the market?
q3: can this problem be fixed in future by using a updated firmware?
q4: why we have to wait for firmwarehacks, only to fix such "strategically bugs"?
now i have for the first-aid, a 4gb microsdhc-card in my n81 - but has this be end of this story?
    best regards to all readers,

  • Are 8gb microSDHC cards compatible with the E90?

I recently puchased a E90 and I would like to know if it is possible to use a 8gb MicroSDHC card.
    Thanks

SD and SDHC are two totally different technologies packaged inside the same kind of format. SDHC card readers are backwards compatible with SD cards, but SDHC cards cannot be read in a regular SD card reader.
One of the limitations of SD which led to the development of SDHC in the first place is the maximum capacity of 2GB. Therefore, if the specs of a phone say that it can read 4GB cards then it's fitted with an SDHC card reader and 4GB+ cards will be usable.
If the specs of a phone say that it can only accept cards of up to 2GB then it is fitted with a regular SD card reader and SDHC cards will not work. No amount of software upgrading will help because the hardware simply isn't there to handle SDHC cards.
Those SDHC-compatible phones that "max out" at 4GB might benefit from a firmware upgrade because this limitation is indeed software-related.
The reason why those 8GB SanDisk cards (I have one in my N95) come with a card reader is because that card reader is in fact an SDHC card reader. Most USB card readers available off the shelf for a few quid are not SDHC-compatible, so you won't be able to put your 8GB microSDHC card in an SD adapter, stuff that in one of those SD card readers and access it that way.

  • E55: About microSDHC card upgrade procedure?

    Hello,
I'm planning to replace and upgrade the original 2gb memory card of my E55 with a new 8gb class 10 card using this procedure:
1- Backup (copy) all existing files (including hidden files) to hdd using windows explorer of current 2gb card.
2- Before inserting my new 8gb card into my E55, write all back the data from hdd to new card as is.
    Will this procedure work?
Also, i found out a file called 'card_contents.xml' in card root which is supposed to be used by Ovi Maps application, and it contains a card size string as '2gb', so will i also have to change this string to 8gb?
    Please help me about these.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi all,
Yesterday i did the card upgrade by replacing my old 2gb Nokia card with brand new Transcend Class 10 8 gb microSDHC card. Here are what i've experienced so far after upgrade process:
1- Some file names now became uppercase letters when you're viewing them via any file manager such as S60 default file manager or with other applications. Interestingly, these filenames contain lowercase letter when you see files in Windows Explorer.
For example, some files seem as:
ABCDE.XYZ in file manager(s) of my E55, wheres they're abcde.xyz in Windows Explorer.
Why is that difference? Note that most file names have been preserved as is with no problem with their letter cases.
2- In music player, though my custom music playlist has memory card icon next to it and i did exact copy via Windows Explorer, it got lost! Plus, my music library is reported as corrupted. I couldn't recover my custom music list but i managed to get my music library working by refreshing it.
3- Ovi Maps did not encounter any problems related to card upgrade so far, even, the QF seems to be updated properly (quota) after launching Maps application for once.
I really wonder the first one, really weird. Some file names appear as uppercased using phone, but in Windows Explorer in Computer they're lowercased. I noticed also 'cities' folder and 'qf' file are reported in uppercase letter format in phone (like CITIES, QF) but they're lowercase in Computer even with Nokia's old original memcard.
    Any comment is appreciated.
    Thanks!

Most gaming fans are crazy about racing games, and there is a new game title just launched to fulfill gamers’ dream. We want to share with you the experience from Taiwan user who assembles a rig with a brand new MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card, along with a hardware and game (The Crew) benchmarks. Done with assembling, quiet nice color combination and clean cable arrangement.
An overview of the very gaming look system.
Some benchmark results before racing with The Crew.
CPU and GPU info on CPU-Z and GPU-Z applications:
    3DMark Fire Strike score: 6441
3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score: 3384
    3DMark Fire Strike Ultra score:1262
The excel performance proof the brand new 960 graphics card comes with good a high Cost/Performance Value.
Now, check out this test benchmark score of the renowned game “The Crew”.
The game presents an ultra-quality display, 60 Frames Per Second (FPS)
    FPS: Average frames is at:
    Frames: 3859 - Time: 76828ms - Avg: 50.229 - Min: 43 - Max: 56
The comments of the game for your reference:
There are many types of missions that can be chosen from the America’s map.
Street racing, high-speed collision, breakaway from police, sky jumps, zigzagging, etc… make the game quite dynamic.
Now, when it comes to multi-player matches, the performance has exceeded expectations. Perhaps, it is the killer Ethernet that’s working the magic. Thus, this game is highly recommended if you have the right rig.
The downside is that the display intricacy is not as refined as GTA V and in addition, the game FPS is limited at 60 FPS. However, the overall gaming flow and performance is better than good.
The user's comment for using MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and 960 graphics card:
(The following commends are translated from user’s article, does not represent the viewpoint of MSI) ^^
Recently, MSI GTX 960 just launched so the initial price tag is still adjustable.
According to the current product line, it seems like this GPU is going to replace 750Ti. So once all the stocks (750Ti) at the store empties, we are most likely to see a price drop on GTX960.
Once the price hits the sweet spot, it’s time to try out GTX960 SLI’s performance.
The CP value on MSI GTX960 and GAMING 5 MB is pretty high. But the XSplit software that comes with the product is a bit annoying since the authentication steps are divided into 2 parts to go through for using it.
    Enough said, anyways, GAME ON!

NVIDIA 960 card  + GAMING 5 motherboard = best bundle for budget gaming!
it would be nice to see more testing of hardware-demanding games!

  • Processor and graphics card upgrade for hp dc5100 MT(EF633US)

Can someone kindly tell me a variety of Intel processors and graphic cards which i can install in my pc coz right now i'm using Intel pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz and Intel 82915G/GV/910GL express chipset. but i would like to upgrade to a faster processor and a graphics card which can play games which require large graphic memory (eg FIFA 2013,GTA 5.etc)

    Hi:
Personally, I wouldn't invest the money to upgrade that PC.
You would be better off getting an off lease newer dc5800 MT or dc7800/dc7900 model that has a PCIe x16 video slot.
The killer for your model is you can only install a PCI graphics card.
Very inefficient and pretty expensive for what you get in return.
After you install the required microcode update, the best processor I know for sure you can install would be the P4 650.
Below is the link to the quickspecs.  The supported processors are listed on page 7.
I do not know of anyone who that has installed the 651 or 661 processors and got them to work--even though the specs state they are supported.
You can try the 651 or 661 and if you do, please let me know if they worked for you.

    Stuart, welcome to the forum.
The truth is, any video card that will run properly with the 300W PSU in the computer, will not be much better than the integrated video.  Most newer mid-level cards require a PSU with a minimum of 400W watts.  I have searched for other members many times without any luck.  If you want to upgrade the PSU, it will give you far more options.

  • J2me and java card, need help to communicate

we are trying to put together a reader to read smartcards using j2me and we figure that it would be easiest if we could develop it to work with java cards rather than standard smart cards, the problem is we get garbage when we communicate to it, the chip sends us crap, any suggestions what might be wrong, any calls we might be missing, has anyone worked with j2me and java cards or smart cards, any help would be appreciated.

.... reader app and the ME behind it .... smells like mobile ....
First of all - if you want to have one mobile application running on this just make sure that whatever is written in ME can use drivers from the reader chip ....
Workin on the PC is something completely different. There was one good example how to develop one host application in Java provided with the JCOP tools long ago ... I don't know if this is now in the new Eclipse tools.
But - there was a small API provided that can give you good hints what to do - and - once you have it on the reader side - you can easily integrate ME methods with this ...

    * Video Card - ATI X1600 or NVidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100
This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems (PowerMac).
For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least: an Intel Integrated Chipset GMA X3100 or Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
    Supported Video Cards
    ATI Radeon(TM) series
    * X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600

and that I need to upgrade my system. Basically I need; ATI Radeon 1600 or NVIDIA Geforce 7300 and a INTEL Extreme Graphic Video Card-GMA X3100, in order to be able to install and play this game. Since I already have this game, I would like to be able to upgrade my computer system which brings me to ask; does somone know or refer me to a web site that has and sells these Video and Graphic Card and supports for the Mini Mac?
Plus they say that I need a 1020 of MB of Ram, I Have already found that 1024 MB of Ram but I just need those Video and Graphic Cards for my computer system. I am adding my computer system Profile to my discussion board to show you what I have on my system, would you be able to tell me if I would be able to add these Video and Graphic card and the memory or Ram 1024 to my computer system?

    Hi Trisha,
The only modern Mac's with video cards are the Mac Pro and Xserve (server) systems. They both are priced quite a bit higher than any Mac Mini.
Some systems, like the Mac Book Pro laptop can be ordered with different graphics cards, but that has be done when the system is built, as it is not replaceable once the system is built. To find out which systems, go to store.apple.com. For each system that you select, you can see if there's an option for a better video card.

I stopped using iCloud after another family member received all my contacts. Now I want to restart using iCloud. How do I prevent this happening again? We share the same Apple id password and credit card but different usernames.

If two of you shared the same contacts you were logged in with the same Apple ID. In order to avoid this you need to use different Apple IDs, and be using separate Macs or separate user accounts on the same Mac.
One or other of you should create a new Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com for which you will need a non-Apple email address which hasn't been associated with another Apple ID.
