N76 can it be repaired?
Guys... I have a N76 cell which is in worst condition.now i have kept it as an antique piece in my leaving room, so i wanna use it back.
:Both display are broken(inside main display and the outside mounted on Flap)
:The cell lost its silver color, key pad has become hard.i think i used it for only 6 months but it wonderful device.
if it can be Repaired then please let me know the price(at least approx price). so that i don't have to empty my wallet in Nokia store

It is difficult for anyone here to give you an accurate answer to your questions without the benefit of being able to see and touch your phone. The best thing for yo to do is to get a quotation from your local Nokia Care Point before you decide. This is the only way you will know for sure.
If the phone is in pretty bad condition like you say it is, it is usually cheaper just to get a replacement.

How do I backup to my external hd on 10.6.8 if the disk is damaged and can't be repaired?
Hi! So, I'll get straight to the point. I'm running 10.6.8 on my mac, which is about 5 years old. I attempted to install OSX Mavericks last night, so I could update some of my software. Anyways, the computer restarts and opens up the installer for OSX Mavericks, but after about a minute of installing, it shows that the Mavericks install failed. The upgrade couldn't be started because the disk Macintosh HD is damaged and can't be repaired.
Could someone tell me (step by step) how to back up all of my data, erase the disk, and install again? I have an external HD by the way.
Help would be much appreciated!So, essentially you're saying that I need to download one of these programs to my external hd. But, how do I boot it from my mac if I can't get past the installation screen of Mavericks? I'm running on my other mac right now, if that helps. I've tried to use disk utility to repair, but it's greyed out. I honestly just want to retrieve all of my data, wipe the drive, and then install a new one. I just want to know how to do that.

The file is damaged and it can not be repaired (PDF Printing in Z-program)
I am opening this thread on behalf of my colleague Merja regarding a problem while trying to print using the Integrated ITS 6.40.
The problem happens when using webgui directly. Support Package level is 21 and kernel 640 patch 196. Note 771683 regarding printer with access
method 'F' and device type 'PDF1' is already in place. 'Output immediately' opens the preview. Error still exists when using "print preview" button.
The issue occurs when trying to review the Employment Contract within the portal UI. The actual print is finished correctly but the "Print Review" function returns HTTP 500 error, "The file is damaged and it can not be repaired".
When we perform the same activity in system R/3 within the transaction SE38, with our Z-program everything works correctly and no problems occur.
Could you please help solving this issue?

Try changing the .ai to .eps or .pdf to see if anything happens to see if it makes a difference to importing or exporting as a pdf?
If you have Indesign, try importing the file into Indesign then saving that file as a pdf or/and export as a Indesign eps file.

I select repair, enter my password and I get the following:

This happened a few weeks ago and I have been fumbelling around trying to fix it. I have no backup servers or shared access. My iPhone and iPad 'used to' pump pictures via iCloud but this has stopped.

Please bear with me as I am very new to this subject.
1: Using a MacBook Air OSX 10.7.5 and it is WiFi connected to a Time Capsule.
2: Overnight I have done a complete back-up. Checked the data files and all correct.
3: I can open the files on the TC except for the iPhoto Library as I want to check visually that they are there. All 2,388.
4: The iPhone Library on the TC will not allow me to look in.
5: the iPhoto Library on the MBA allows me access and I can view etc all the 2,388.
Q1: So why can I not look into the TC's iPhone Library? Or how do I open that library so I can look in?
Q2: how can I export data back from the TC to the MBA if ever I needed to do that?

We are using VS 2013 (premium) and IE 10.0, scripts have been created on the same versions. It is working fine on

Upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks failed - disk is damaged and can't be repaired.

I'm afraid the answer is exactly what I don't want. But here is my situation.
I've been trying to download and install Mavericks - I was running Snow Leopard. My system was working fine - I wanted to upgrade so that I could run a game on it - but it required Mavericks.
Finally, it looked like Mavericks was installing. Once I restarted my computer, I got the following message:
"Install Failed. OS X could not be installed on your computer (there's a big scary yellow triangle with an exclaimation point in it below this). The OS X upgrade couldn't be started because the disk Macintosh HD is damaged and can't be repaired. After your computer restarts, back up your data, erase your disk, and try installing again. Click Restart to restart your computer and try installing again."
Every time I restart, I get the same message, I can't back up my data and erase my disk like it wants me to; it won't let me. I can't get back to my normal computer. I've tried restarting in Safe Mode, but it doesn't work - it just keeps restarting over and over again. If my computer is really this determined to not let me have Mavericks, fine, but I at least want my old computer back. As it is now, I can't do anything on it besides restart it.
If I could just get to Finder, I could save some files and just reformat it - if the hard disk can be repaired. Even if it can't, I just need my documents. Here is the Installer Log:

Thank you for any help you can give me.You are never going to have the option to repair a disk if you are booted from the same disk.
I think the place to start is boot off your Snow Leopard DVD install disk by holding down the C key on boot up.
Under Utilities drop down menu you will have access to Disk Utility.
From here you will have the option to repair Disk (ie not grayed out.)
option: Either insert and wait for the Mac OS X Install DVD window and double-click the Install icon; or power down, then start up while holding down the "C" key. Either way, that takes a few minutes. -
I can no longer repair permissions with Disk Utility, v. 13
After installing iTunes update 11.1, I can no longer repair permissions with Disk Utility, v. 13. When I attempt to repair Disk Permissions, there appear dozens of items showing that "Permissions differ on "Applications/iTunes.app....", then it says that it has been repaired. However, when I do a second or third repair immediately afterwards, I see the same thing again.

Drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired?
I have had a Lacie 1TB 7200RPM external drive for about 3 years now. In the last two days I got this message when I went into disk utility. "drive has a hardware problem that can't be repaired". I was able to back up all the info off of the drive.
Is this a drive problem or a hardware problem. I am using esata and an esata card. Not sure what the card is.
Any diagnostics.
I ran a verify and repair permissions and was told the drive is OK.Do this:
Drive Partition and Format
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed. -
ok so i accidentally remove the USB while my laptop was backing up to the time machine partition on my external HDD. I plug it in again, and no time machine partition. just the other part (fat 32 partition). so i open disk utilities.. the partition is there but grayed out. so I repair it.. and it says it cant repair it i need to back it up and format it. ok great.. i tried to do that and it said it can't access the disk.. super.
any way.. i don't know why i decided to check my other drives and see how they're doing.. and it turns out.. my startup disk has problems.. and you guessed it.. it can not be repaired:D so i restart in recovery mode.. did it again.. and? it can't be repaired.. i need to backup the drive and format it... (like the same problem with the time machine partition) just great! so i restart the laptop.. it safe boots.. I dnno why.. and everything is like it was.. I mean I don't see a problem with my drive.. i can do everything but that "cant repair" thing is scaring me.. what should I do? just leave it? or brace myself for a possible HDD death? I DON'T EVEN HAVE A BACKUP)
help me i feel vulnerableAs you have indicated, you don’t want to touch the partitions on your existing external drive because it has live files in the FAT32 partition for which there are no copies anywhere else. That leaves you with two sets of data that are currently not backed up: your FAT32 partition and your system drive. I suggest you need at least one more external HD for backups.
A “backup” drive should never have live files on it because should that drive fail all the live files on it would be lost. So you need a second external HD anyway for a proper backup scheme.
I would partition a new disk as you have the current one and then copy all the FAT32 files form the old disk to the new one. Then you can try repartitioning the old drive. I would then setup a backup scheme to periodically clone the new FAT32 drive onto the old FAT32 one, using the new disk for your live FAT32 files and dedicating the old disk to backups. You could also continue using the old disk for Time Machine backups.
You can use Mac cloning software such as Carbon Copy Cloner to maintain the cloned backup copy of your FAT32 data.

I have an iMac mid 2010. After Disk utilities said the drive was corrupt, I ran the hardware test (extended) 3 times. No problems. I than ran Disk utility again and got 2 messages in red…keys out of order, and ……Volume corrupt, can't be repaired.
I tried to do a system install, but message said…disk can't be changed. Will a complete erase and install fix this ?

Your drive could physically be in good condition but something has caused the file structure to be messed up (it just happens sometimes). The directory that keep track of files is corrupt. Disk Utility can help determine if that is the issue. In some cases it can repair the problem but it cannot do it to a drive that is being used to boot the system while you are doing that. You have to boot from another drive. Some things DU cannot repair and you need to try a stronger utility such as Diskwarrior.
A failing hard drive (one with mechanical issues) can be a cause of file structure issues but this is by no means always the case. Apart from looking at the SMART diagnosis feature of Disk Utility (and smart isn't totally reliable) there often isn't a way to tell if a drive is failing until it suddenly happens, which is why you need to maintain backups.
In your situation it does sound serious and not just minor directory corruption. You can try erasing (formatting) the drive, You may need to do this if it is really corrupt, in which case there could be underlying physical issues. I use old technology but if you have the patience you can try erasing the drive with the security option of writing zeros once (don't do more unless you are going on a 3 week vacation). This makes the drive not simply assume everything is okay by forcing it try every part of the drive by writing data. If something is gong wrong you may find it marks a lot of bad sectors, or flat out refuses to format. Then you know you need a new drive. -

If this is a 13" Macbook Pro then that is the cost of the Extended Applecare warranty. As you are outside the 90 days of Free Phone Support then what Apple told you is that to get Phone Support you would either need to pay $45 per phone call or pay $249.00 for the Applecare extended warranty which comes with 3 years Free Phone Support from date of purchase.
Or you can take it to a Apple Genius Bar and have them look at it for Free.
Every Mac comes with 1 year warranty and includes only 90 days of phone support. You can buy the extended Applecare warranty anytime within the first year of ownership, IE until the 1 year warranty runs out.
I suggest you have your computer looked at by either an Apple Authorized Repair Center or Genius Bar and then before the 1 year warranty runs out buying the extended warranty -
Please help... I have a 2008 intel mac running 10.8.5. It was running slow today so I started troubleshooting and ended up resetting the SMU. Once that was done the computer boots up to white screen only. So I did safe start mode and got into disk utility. My harddrive is partitioned, the part with OSX and Applications can not be repaired, the partition with my files seems fine? I have not idea what to do from here.

Question...since one part of the drive checks out, can just one partition be corrupted? Can I reinstall OSX in the good partition and go?

Phantom restarts / crashes with Maverick. Under restore Disk Utility, disk can't be repaired says "live system repair is not supported" Is there a fix yet? Or is Maverick "FREE" because Apple no longer offers free phone support?
Get onto the integrated iOS + Mac OS and end support for "legacy" Mac 10.8 and earlier.
Force older hardware users like me to upgrade to new hardware which is where $$ are.
Make apps work across tablets, phone, and computer with similar (though not the "same" app, but able to read and use the same file format).
Simplify.
I don't think anyone incl. Microsoft knew Windows 8.1 was going to be a free upgrade, I didn't and read that it would be more like $30.
No OS is ready for everyone on the day it is launched. iOS 7 is now 7.04 and climbing, Mac OS tends to really not be ready until the last patch and version is out, often a year or more after it was first issued. Ship it, then plan to fix the bugs left in or that surface.
www.macperformanceguide.com is saying "No" to Maverick for now. Of course there will be no "No" on new Mac Pro 2013 6,1 when those ship (Late Jan? ) -
IMac hangs at startup - DU says "Volume can't be repaired"
Came back from holiday to find my 18month old work iMac wont boot up.
Opened Disc Utility in safe mode and says "Can't be repaired" and i can't get into the hdd

Works network won't accept Time Machine so I never got round to getting an external drive and setting it up. (Yeah - I know)
As a last resort, got a 2tb drive and am trying to create a new disc image. Been "reading whole disc" for 3 hours, not even a quarter of the way through.
REALLY not wanting to have to reinstall adobe again and get all by browsers back to how I like them.
IT seemed to suspect a software update issue - one of their macbooks failed exactly the same way last week. But can't find any chatter about it.
Any ideas?pressing "c" before you hit the power button?

I've bought my Mac in 2011 and it has been working quite normally up until this couple of months.
Whenever I use it and try to open Safari, it starts to freeze and won't let me open any other applications.
So I have to shut it down and turn it on again and again. Sometimes it restarts itself (rarely but it does).
I read about this utility disk repair thing, which I just tried (not a good computer person) and it says that 500.11 GB Toshiba MK5065GSXF can't be repaired, failing. (and It's marked red).
So, I want to know what's there for me to do or what does this even mean?

Software OS X 10.9.1It mean the hard drive is failing. Backup all your files at once, IE Make a copy of them on an External drive.
Then you will need to have the hard drive replaced. you can do that yourself or take it to an Apple store to have them do it for you. You can also take it to must any competent computer repair place even if they don't specifically work on Mac computers. Changing the hard drive is very simple to do.
You will then need to reinstall OS X and all your programs and then copy back your personal files.
