Go to Solution.

Try updating Nokia Nseries PC Suite. This is most easily accomplished by
a - opening the program,
b - clicking on the Settings icon (circle with spanner) and then
c - selecting the Update Manager tab in the window that presents itself.
d - Select N78 as the device for which the software is to be compatible.
e - Click on the light blue "Check for updates now" legend on the left under the radio buttons.
If you do not have latest version you will be prompted to download a newer version, which may address your issue. I have version 2.1.2700 but I am in North America.
If your computer software is up to date try the following:
a - A Bluetooth dongle to see if the device with synch properly via Bluetooth
b - Different USB ports
c - A different cable
All of the above assumes you have selected PC Suite as your connection choice on the device when you connect. Good luck. I hope it evens out for you soon. Synching is one of the beauties of this device.
I also use regular PC Suite with my N78-3 and both the PC software and my devices function perfectly for synching, my desktop and laptop contacts and calendars.

  • Power and Sync problems with Zen Vision:M

)Power and Sync problems with Zen Vision:MX Lately, my Vision M is having problems that when I plug it into the USB port on any PC to charge it, it lights up for a moment and then goes blank.
When I unplug it and reseat the usb cable, nothing happens. When I try to turn it on, it's dead. This happens even though it's not fully depleted of battery energy.
Pressing the reset button does not do anything. The only thing that I've found that will work is to open it up and unplug the battery. But even that is starting to not work.
This doesn't happen every time I use it, but it is happening quite a bit. It's gotten to the point today that I can't even charge the battery at all.
Any suggestions? I don't think it's the battery, as it does charge when I don't have these issues, but I'm not really positi've of that either.

The connector on the motherboard check it . It may need to be resoldered. The last time I ran into those symptoms that was the solution.

  • ERASE AND SYNC PROBLEM

My girlfriend wants to use my mac to sync her ipod touch. It is already partnered with another mac and consequently when I connect her ipod itunes offers to erase and sync it. How do I get around this problem? She clearly does not wish to erase her ipod.
On a general note, why is itunes loaded with this kind of control freakery? My mac, her ipod - surely it is up to us to be responsible and 'law abiding'. I hate it when corporations exert this kind of control over my things, I bought them, I own them - it should be up to me how I use them!

after connecting ipod cancel the auto sync then go to the ipod,un tick in all auto sync like music, video, movie, photos etc aftr that in option click there manually manage..aply ok..
    thnx..

  • Library and syncing problem

I was on a different computer and then i accidently pressed erase and sync and i did't know whet it ment. When I turned on my ipod all my songs and videos had been erased I had $71 dollars worth on it and I want all my old song back. I had just gotten a new ipod and I had to go on a trip so I didn't have time to make a back-up disk. Help would be great I really want my songs and movie back.

    - Have you reset your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to backup your iPod and then restore you iPod from backup via iTunes.

  • Download error. Tap to retry and syncing problems!

I can't sync music to my iphone 4s, i tried so many times to sync music to it after managing and adding music to my itunes library then dragging them to my iphone, but when i go to my Iphone Music app, only "No content" appear inside the app, no tabs appear.
In itunes, i synced music to my sisters iphone from the same library and it worked perfectly fine, so i think the problem is in my Iphone!!
because i also backed up my iphone contents to Icloud, erased everything and started my iphone as a new, when i synced to it, it worked, but when i restored from icloud my contents, i had the same problem.
I also can't download music from itunes store, it just says (Download error. Tap to retry)
What's wrong??? I have uploaded three screenshots here.
A week of suffer! Someone help me please!

I am finding that iTunes and iCloud are still recognizing my new iPhone 5 as my iPhone 4s... even though I do not own it anymore. I think there is a glitch in there somewhere. I have traded out my new phone once... erased it several times... backed it up... restored it... still no luck.
I am going to keep trying, but perhaps there is some inherent old soul in the iPhone 5 that is really a 4s... therefore... your 4s won't give up its library? Have no real answer for you... just thought my problem might be in the similar realm.

  • Won't recognize hardware and syncing problems

I just plugged in my ipod and it says unkown device on the bottom right hand of my screen. Before this, everytime I synced my ipod to put new music on there, it would always say "ipod sync complete", it used to say "ipod sync complete, ok to disconnect". After it was done updating the ipod, the do not disconnect screen would go away and I could disconnect it. but now the "do not disconnect" sign on my ipod doesn't go away. How do I fix these problems?????
One more question, is there a way to get all of the files on my itunes into a completely different folder. I have a lot of music in my "my music" folder, and I have a specific amount of music from there onto my itunes. Everytime I have to restore, I have to pick and choose all of my music again, is there a way I can just drag and drop all of that music and video into a new folder or what?

Okay, the first two problems fixed itself somehow. I tried it the next day and it worked. I still want to know if I can transfer all of the music in itunes into a different folder though. Doesn't anyone know anything about this?

  • Strange slow streaming and syncing problem - any diagnostics?

I have two Apple TVs syncing wirelessly via an Airport Extreme with an iMac and one of the ATVs has begun behaving very strangely. I've rebooted my ATV, and even gone back to it's factory settings (2.1) and updated it to the latest firmware again without success. iTunes is version 8.1.1, but I had the same trouble with recent version of iTunes too. The problem ATV used to work fine with iTunes.
Syncing has been intermittent and iTunes frequently 'loses' my problem ATV2. Restarting iTunes will usually find it OK, but sometimes I have to go into my ATV2 settings and re-select the Airport Extreme and input my security password again before it's recognised by iTunes.
Even when iTunes does 'see' ATV2, the syncing has been extremely slow. The display of 'Top Movies' thumbnails has also been very sluggish. Playback of movie and podcast material from my iMac / iTunes library has also ground to a halt. For the most part I just stream from the iMac, and have most settings for ATV2 set to e.g. 'sync selected Movies'.
But even when I've selected items to sync with ATV2 the syncing is very slow. Today a 200 MB .m4v file took about 18 minutes to copy across to my ATV2. Once it had transferred across it played fine from the ATV2, with none of the stop/start problems I'd had when streaming from iTunes.
My Airport extreme is in the same room and about 12 feet from ATV2. My ATV1 is in a nearby but different room, and works fine, even though it's further away.
Is there any way I can diagnose the cause of this issue, or does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be? I presumed that a factory reset removed all settings on my ATV2 but is there a more extreme reset I could have done?
    Thanks.

I can offer at least a partial reply to my own question.
I found lots of messages suggesting problems with the more recent firmware upgrade of Apple's Airport Extreme. So I downgraded from 7.4.1 to the older version 7.3.2 and afterwards my sluggish syncing and playback issues seemed to be resolved.
The file that took around 18 minutes to sync before now does it in about two minutes, and playback of files is normal. Don't know yet how well the older firmware will hold onto my ATV2 but I suspect all those issues were related and hope that will be fixed too.
If there are any downsides I'll update here.
Incidentally I forgot to mention that my ATV1 which had no problems with the Airport Extreme was an earlier model 1.x with updated firmware, whereas the problematic ATV2 had the later 2.x firmware, updated to 2.3.1. Both appear to be working fine now.

  • Solution to ipod classic connection and sync problems in windows xp

Was having problems syncing and copying songs to my 80 GB classic on windows xp. Itunes would become unresponsive etc. Turns out these issues were related to a program called res.exe which is part of a usb mass storage toobox, which does not appear to be essential to windows.
In add/remove programs, I uninstalled "USB Mass Storage Toolbox", and my ipod classic now syncs as it should.

  • I have reinstalled firefox only to find it will not connect to internet and sync problem , have forgotton id and passwords as none of the original works. So what to do now?

I guess one day firefox will give error message and will disconnect internet. it is since 12 of Oct 2010. Since all trials failed I started with reinstalling but problem did not go away. What can I do to use Firefox. I am not sure of ID and Password.

You can find the password and the sync key in the password manager on the computer where you originally created that sync account.<br />
    Look for:
    * chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Password)
    * chrome://weave (Mozilla Services Encryption Passphrase)

  • Network drive library location failure and Syncing problems

I transferred my iTunes library to a wireless network drive. If iTunes opens without an established wireless network connection, it returns to the default library location. I can easily change it back to the network drive, but want to avoid restoring the default location. How can I do this?
A related problem is with syncing my iPod with the new network drive iTunes library location. In short, it won't sync with the new location and asks me to Restore the iPod continuously. The only way to get the iPod to sync is when the library goes back to the default iTunes location (which I don't want because I don't have music there anymore).
    Would love some help.

+If iTunes opens without an established wireless network connection, it returns to the default library location+
That's how it works. There is no way to stop itunes from doing it. If you ever find you've opened itunes without that drive available, immediately close itunes. Use a shift-start to re-open it using the networked ITL file.
Have you tried assigning a different drive letter to the ipod? Maybe it's competing with the networked drive letter. Just go into windows device manager to change the ipod's drive letter.

  • Memery Loss and Syncing problems

My Ipod Touch 4G (Version 4.3.5) has a Memory problem: It has over 2GB on the "Other" Part, yet doesnt clearly say what this is. Every time i Sync It raises the "other" bar until i have no Free space left, Then my iPod said it had no Disk Space left. This problem ocoured a while ago and means i cant sync my ipod anymore.

Is it 2GB or only 1/4 of that?
Maybe there is just the amount iOS has to have for its use.
Did you look at how much storage Safari and other apps take up? you always have those, you can clear history and cache there. Same for mail.

  • N78 and geotags problem

I'm having a problem with geotags. I have enabled tagging from camera and it is all ok. I can see the tags in the picture information and I can check the map where the picture was taken. BUT, when I upload my picture to Ovi or Flickr, the geolocation is missing from metadata. I have some old pictures in my phone, which also have geotags, and they are working OK with Ovi and Flickr. So every new picture I take now, geotag is not working properly. I can't remember if ALL the working pictures were taken before software update, but at least some of them are. So this might be a problem with software? Sure is that something has happened in some point. Any ideas? Help?

    Hi meisseli
I'm not sure I completely understand what you mean, so first a couple of questions...
    1. You have captured images with "Record location - ON", right?
    2. When you go into the Photos app on your Nokia N78, you select an image and then Option, Show on Map. And you can see the capture location on a map, right? Or is it that you can only do that with your older images?
    3. Is there a satellite icon showing in Photos app against the images which don't seem to be appearing on the map?
    4. You have uploaded images to both Flickr and Ovi, and old ones appear on a map, but the new ones don't, right?
    5. Have you changed any of the settings in Flickr? In your account settings (www.flickr.com/account) there is a Privacy and Permissions tab, and you need to click on Default for new uploads, and then set Import EXIF location data to Yes. I guess you've already done that?
    6. You did a software update. Which software do you have?
Hope we're able to get to the bottom of this one.

  • What is the cause of my recent refresh and sync problems?

I use my iBook for my iTunes and iPod. I have my library on an external Iomega eGo connected by firewire. I leave the iTunes up pretty much all the time with an hourly check/update of the podcasts.
After work, I will come home and connect my iPod via USB cable to my iBook. When the screen comes out of "sleep", it will say it is sync-ing but the spinning cursor will be on the screen. When I get up in the morning to sync my iPod again and head to work it will still be spinning and will have done nothing. I have begun to check it before connecting the iPod in the evening and on occasion the cursor will be spinning. I have tried force closing iTunes either through trying to shut down or just force closing in the OS - neither works. I just get a message that the force close failed. I end up having to turn off the machine to get it to reset.
    What is wrong?

First, you should update to -> 10.4.11 and see what happens.
