N78 problem

Hello, I have N78 and have a problem with playing online streams. Youtube works fine but atdhe.net for example not working. It asking for flash player 9. Can anyone help me with this problem? I have searched for instalation of flash player 9 for N78 and there is no such software

The Flash Player is an inbuilt part of the phone's firmware, it cannot be downloaded separately.
Th current version for mobile devices is Flash Player Lite 3, which is roughly equivelant to Flash Player 9 on a PC, so some flash content may not be readable.
What specifically happens when you try to watch videos on thei particular site? Is there an error message? We would need to establish if the web site you are trying to use is incompatible with FPL3 or if your network streaming settings/access points could be at fault.

    Hi, all. I have very special problem with connection N73 and N78 with my BT HF Pioneer radio, there is firmware problem. I dont need the stock answares like "reset your phone" etc. I want to disscous the problem with some real nokia technical support. Do you somebody knows some email or phone nuber directly to nokia support team? I am sick of forums, where we just talk to each other ourself!

  • N78 problems

    Hi,
    Sorry if this information can be found elsewhere, I looked but couldn't find it.
    I am having problems with my N78
    D Pad backlight has stopped working completely - no 'breathing' doesn't matter if I turn it off from the settings.
    The right select button (above multimedia key) does not work at all.
    The red 'end call' button doesn't work at all.
    The 'cancel' key doesn't work at all.
    The screen does not go into standby and stays fully lit when locked.  This drains my battery down from full to empty in one day without really using it.
    Also, every now and again the screen will black out (key pad lights still on) and not light up again.  I have to turn the phone off and on again for it to return to normal.
    Any idea what I can do to fix these issues? My software version is 21.002.  I tried to do a factory reset and it said 'request not completed'.

  • N78 problems after firmware update

    I have recently updated my N78 (RM235) firmware to 13.052.231.6.
    Before the update the internal GPS worked very well, finding satellites quickly and holding a strong lock. After the update the GPS is very poor, taking a long time to find satellites and loosing signal very easily.
    Can anyone help with this problem or tell me how to re-install the previous firmware?

    Has everything else stayed the same and only the GPS antenna reception got worse?
    If that is the case you are right, but maybe the update made other improvements and for some reason one of them worsened the GPS antenna...just guessing...

  • N78 :-( Problems Help

    The Nokia maps in the phone doesnt work if i put my memory card into the phone. If remove the memory card it works fine. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    Is there anyway to re-flash the firmware using that nokia software updater ? I used to do it for old phone (N-91) it was bit easy. In N-78 the software updater doesnt do a re-flash. It stops saying you got the latest firmware.Anybody have any idea how to do it?
    I brought this phone in india. I dont know where the FM transmitter is :-( Is there anyway to activate it ??? I saw in the list of countries where it is supported. India was on the list. Does some one know how to activate it?
    Problems with Flash - Even if i select no flash and take a picture there is always a flash coming up :-( god only knows how these nokia guys are testing there phone.
    Problems in playing video - I find this problem given by users in almost every blog i go. it plays only the audio. video is completely missing.My old phone i brought it 4 years back.it could play almost anything if smartmovie and divx players are there.It even played a full 600MB divx movie without getting stuck. N91 Rocks
    I heard N78 is better then N91 but it almost sucks.Hope nokia remakes N91 with reduced weight and releases it again i will be first to buy it.

    you could do a factory reset also the code is 12345 this will return phone to original settings
    the share online issue will be sorted
    then go to setting wizzard and reinstall your networks settings

  • N78 Problems - Firmware 10.136

    Hi,
    at the moment I am facing two problems with my new N78
    with firmware 10.136.
    - Photo-Browser is not working
    When I select the Photo menu entry in the main menu,
    the phone presents me an empty seven entries menu.
    Taking a look in the online help, it tells me that there
    should be entries like 'All', 'Tags' etc.
    I can also not select any of the empty menu points ...
    - Music-Player is not working
    When I select the music player from the main menu,
    I can e.g. select the 'All' topic ... I see all my music,
    but when I want to play one of these I get an error message:
    'General: System error' ...
    Does somebody have the same problems?
    Does anybody know when a new firmware will be released?

    hey i just updated it from inside my phone, in OTA way. Everything it's ok, but i see a really low max brightness of the display! it changed sooo much!!! how's ur?? do u have the same problem? could i know how was setted the brightness cursor before ur updated? mine was 3/4 of max! but now the max brightness looks like 1/4 before update plz help me!

  • N78 problem related to software updater and softwa...

    i hav recently purchased n78.....and i have updated software which is 20.168...something like that...and now iam facing problems... which are as follows:
    1) camera zoom in and zoom out is not working properly...its doesnt even work when u usually reset yr phone by dailing*#7370* or *#7780#...
    2) secondly... i have installed corecodec mobile player ..which playback all formats like avi, mpeg, mpeg 2, mp4 etc...but its not working properly on my n78 s60 v3.... the version of this player is 1.12 for s60 v3.. and  still create problems...like sound stuck and  something video...... its not like that iam using  the cracked version...but its the genuine one...i have also installed corecodec player on my n73 s60 v2, its working fine there....dont know y not working  on n78....
    3) finally, i want to know if there is any latest firmware for n78....so please let me know..might solve my problem.but still i need help from u guys...please focus....

    the  code is *#7370# and not * at the end, it is a bug, i have heard of it but there is no fix for it as of yet. you will need a fix in the next firmware but noone really knows when that might come and be released. 
    keep in mind that n73 is a s603rd fp1 and n78 is a s603rd fp2 and that is where it might be an issue. make sure that the application is compatible with feature pack 2 phones and not just feature pack 1 phones.

    also read this link it is all about your firmware at the end of the thread pg 5 or 6 and v20....something appears to be the latest for your phone. it appears that it got released around the jan 2009 time.

  • Nokia N78 Problem - Urgent

    Hello,
    After updating my mom's Nokia N78 firmware, the phone asks for a lock code. The code has never been changed, so we tried the default one (12345). But it didn't work. Then we tried the most common one my mom uses, in case she changed it and didn't remember. Still didn't work.
    So my question is: is there any way to recover the code? And if I can't do it manually, would they do it in a Nokia shop?

    P.S. I tried hard reset (* + 3 + media key + turn on) and it still asks for the code.

    Lock codes can only be reset by a Nokia Care Point. They will probably require proof of ownership before they will reset it for you so do remember to bring the receipt with you.

  • N78 problem with nokia maps

    Yesterday I bought my new nokia n78.
    After I downloaded and installed the nokia maps updat, when I try to run nokia maps, it does not load...
    I tried to update the firmware but nothing changed... does anybody know what to do?

  • Cable usb n78 problem

    Hy guys,
    Since i've bought my N78 i've never been able to connect the phone via cable USB.  My computer doesn't recognize my Phone. The pc recognize the device only using Bluetooth or using the phone modality "mass storage", so  I'm not able to do the updating of the firmware.
    I reinstalled many times the last versions of PC Suite and Ovi Suite.
    Any suggestion?

    Uninstall all nokia software from your system, making sure that you also uninstall the "cable connectivity drivers", then reboot your system.
    Next, Install only the nokia software updater from the link below and reboot if it asks you to.

    If that works you can then install PC suite.
    If it still fails to work then it is most likely a conflict caused by another piece of software or hardware on your system.  Tracking that down will be very difficult so make sure your PC is clean, up to date and only running the background apps that it needs.

  • Problem with Download! on N78

    I'm having a problem with Download! on my N78 (sw v. 12.046). I can open Download but it freezes, and I also can't download any applications. When Download! freezes, my only option to shut it down is to boot the phone..I can switch to other open applications but Download! is freezed. This is giving me hard time, can't install any applications. Any help or ideas? Anyone else having this problem?

    Backup your data, and try doing a soft reset. *#7370#, (use this code at your own risk, since it deletes some important data's in your phone memory, including the data of installed applications on phone memory - means if you installed a java file to your card, it stores some data in your phone memory which will be deleted when you soft reset. So you will have to reinstall that software)

  • N78 with some problems...

    Hi everyone!
    My n78 recently started to give me some problems. First was (and is...) the speaker when you'r making a call and want to hear it lound in that speaker. I press the button to go to speaker and it doesn't change al all!! And yesterday, it got bored or something and decided not to get any signal from any operator... And I have the latest upgrade.  So, any idea or I can just go to the store and change the phone ??

    Actually, this is a common problem with all N78's (having one myself and tracking all the bugs and fixes since 12.046), documented here in the thread I started: /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&message.id=50372&query.id=986276#M50372
    seems like you had the loudspeaker bug from the earlier firmware (12.046), and when you updated to 20.149/21.002 you did not perform a hard reset after the firmware upgrade. you will need to perform the four-finger hard reset. the soft reset that Korngear details won't do much help, you will need to do the hard reset. this is done with the phone turned off, holding the green call key, 3 key and * key all at the same time. with these keys still held down, press and hold the power button until the Nokia hands logo appears. 
    this should no doubt fix your issue. let us know how it goes.

  • Start up problem - N78

    I have a Nokia N78, which suddenly will not start properly when I turn it on. It gets to the point when it says NOKIA in blue on the screen, then the "nokia" disappears, and the screen remains gray. 
    Interestingly enough, if I take out the sim-card, the start up is quite normal.
    I have tried a different sim-card, but the same problem occurs, so it seems that it is not the sim-card that is faulty.
    Is  there a cure?

  • N78 photo gallery problem (media bottun)

    Hi!
    I have problem with photos in media gallery.
    Once i removed memory card ( phone was off ), once i place it back, turned on device, all pictures i have previously taken disappeared from gallery. They are still on card, because i can see them with file browser, but i cant browse them in photo gallery.
    Is there way to refresh/import/whatever pics back?
    New pictures are normally shown in gallery and i didn't remove memory card since.
    All other programs installed on memory card work normally.

    I have a similar problem to this.
    I regularly upload my photos from my phone to my PC and remove them from the phone.
    I won't go into the problems I've had with Nokia photos...
    When I take new photos they regularly show in the photo gallery app as pictures that have previously been removed from the phone.
    The actually images show if you zoom in on an incorrect thumbnail.
    I think I may have found a solution:
    change camera-settings-default image name-text to something other than what it currently is. i.e change from "Image" to "img" or something.
    Anyone know where the thumbnails are cached so I can try to clear them down?
    Yet another bug in this firmware. Did Nokia do any QA testing?

  • N78 Visual Radio problem - stops for 5 secs then r...

    Good evening,
    My Nokia N78 is showing some strange behavior lately.
    When I listen to Visual Radio after about 2-3 mins of playback the sound completely stops for about 5 seconds then it starts again.
    Any idea about what is causing this problem? Is it software or hardware related?

    I have concluded that AppleTV has some proprietary air interface/DNS issues. But I have found two fixes.
    1. Deploy an Apple Airport (Express) Access Point (AP)  and use that it to connect both the the ATV and your IOS device. Whatever proprietary protocol WiFi issues exist with AppleTV, they are fixed when you use an Apple AP. 
    2. Hardwire the AppleTV using its Ethernet port. (Preferably use a fixed IP address vs DHCP). If the ATV is too far from your router to connect via a cable try using a D-Link (DHP-302) HPNA unit that uses the house electrical wiring create an ethernet LAN. (about $70). If you have Bell Canada's brilliant wireless Fibe TV service then your are in luck. There is an ethernet port at the back of each (Motorlola 2502) Set Top Box. Plug in your ATV and all will be fine.(hats off to CC)
