N78 Window Transition and Update Problem

Hello!
I finally updated the firmware of my N78. However, I noticed that not all features are functioning well. One would be the volume control. Before, I use the upper side buttons to control it when my phones either on standby, using the radio or using realplayer. And, the transition from the portrait mode (phone's normal mode) to landscape mode (mode for viewing pictures, videos, and when using the camera) is gone. Before, the screen rotates. Now, when i press my camera button, my phone goes to camera mode but the screen does not rotate.it only fades with some nasty random lines transition. actually i dont call that a transition. the same goes when i view my pictures and my videos. there is no window transition. is there a problem in my phone. what should i do?

thank you for replying mark_kehl!!! it seems that your solution worked. however, i still have other problems like the volume control button. sometimes, my phone suddenly halts when i am using music player. hmmmm... i believe that my phone is really defective. Nokia has already advised me to return this phone to the store where i bought it but... unfortunately, i dont have time. i am traveling very often and there are more important business to attend to than returning my defective phone.isnt it that nokia should really check its products before being they are put to the market. i am really bothered about this. i mean, as far as i know, nokia has the largest market share when it comes to mobile phones and related electronics... but i'm sure... because of these minor imperfections... its fellow competitors in the market will grab those unsatisfied costumers. anyway, its not my concern. i'm planning to sell my phone next year and probably, i'll buy an LG, Samsung or Sony-Ericson phone. it seems that i overestimated nokia. i committed a fallacy: argumentum ad populum... hahahahaha.
oh... it seems it is time for me to travel again...

Recently have updated my Windows 8 and updated Itunes to mose recent version available. My Ipod 7th Generation Nano worked, connected and synced without difficulty prior to this updating, Now when I plug into my computer it will pop up Itunes but say that this Ipod is not recognized. I have done multiple steps offered to try and nothing has worked. Any other suggestions would be helpful. I just got this Ipod for Christmas and now can't even use it to sync content anymore.

Try a different cable. And are you connecting directly to your computer or through a USB hub?

Windows 8.1 update problem on LENOVO Y510P

Hey guys,
Can't find anything similar to my problem and exhausted my options on this, so decided to ask. If it has been answered I couldn't find, so please point me out on the right direction.
Back history:
Have a lenovo y510p
Bought caddy & SSD drive and installed it onto laptop
Couldn't find a good doc about how to proced so my idea was
1-restore factory settings,
2-Copied the Windows C: partition and the SYSTEM_DRV partition to the SSD using Macrium reflect
3-Went on the BIOS boot order and set the SSD to boot first.
4-Voila, works fine, boots C: on the SSD and it's super fast.
Problem:
Windows 8.1 update can't install on C:. Bummer
I receive a notification saying that I can update to windows 8.1, which I want to do.
1 Hit ok to download,
2 it starts the update process,
3 finishes installing,
4 says it needs to restart
5-RESTARTS TO THE OLD DRIVE, changing the boot order on the BIOS (**bleep**???)
I then check that nothing was installed even on the old drive, proceed to shut down computer, change boot order back to SSD drive, start windows and receive a message that it couldn't be installed and it has reverted the installation.
Has anyone ever experienced that?
My idea now is to
Back up my computer again
Restore factory settings (on old drive)
Install windows 8.1 to old drive
Clone windows partition over
Change BIOS to boot up on SSD.
HOWEVER my question is: What happens when I want to install Windows 10 ? Do you think I'll face the same issue?
Should I somehow format the old drive's windows partition to prevent this from happening ?

Did you erase the recovery partition on the old drive? My best guess is to create recovery discs or thumbdrive take the old drive out and put the new drive in and use the discs or thumbdrive to restore the system. Then run the updates and then copy your personal information from the old disc to the new disc.
As for Windows 10, I do not know if they are going to be doing a clean install with the update to windows 10 or doing an in place update so it is hard to know what problems you will encounter.

Trying to install Itunes on windows 7 and having problems with windows installer

Trying to upgrade itunes 9 to 10 and updates through itunes have been unsuccessful. I have downloaded itunes 10 from Apple but when trying to install it on my computer I get the error message: " The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
I also cannot uninstall itunes 9 as I get the same message.
Any ideas? I got an ipod touch for my birthday and I want to use it!!!!

Windows Keboard and Booting Problem (on a Mac laptop)

Hi, I've been putting up with a really strange (and annoying) problem that my laptop has been going through. I have a Santa Rosa MacBook Pro with OS Leopard, and I put on a Windows XP Pro (with Service Pack 2) NTFS partition. It used to work fast at first--especially booting up and logging on. I have noticed that now when I log onto Windows (no other user accounts , just mine) the wallpaper, desktop, desktop icons, start bar, all load. But when I click on My Computer it takes a good minute and a half for all the components to be displayed (like C drive , the CD drive, Shared Documents). I only have one partition which is C drive. But for a minute and a half, the flashlight icon keeps moving back and forth. Even if I click on any icon, the cursor will turn into a sandtimer but no programs will open once all the drives show up in the My Computer window.
My initial theory was that maybe it's searching for My Documents which I shifted to one of my external harddrives. But that doesn;t seem to be it. When I log off and log back in, it loads much faster. I can open programs in 2 seconds. Also, I realized that the Apple keyboard features (which is controlling volume and brightness) works only then. If I had to boot up Windows, not only does it take long to load (although shutting down is pretty quick), the brightness and volume keys don't work. I have to set it manually through Control Panel. So now if I have to open up Windows, the ritual is that I sit around for a minute and a half (which is a very long time if u think about it) and just when it's working I force myself to log off (so the volume and brightness keys work once I log back on)
I suppose it's worth mentioning that I had downloaded this "skin" which makes XP look like Vista, but I uninstalled it now although not completely since it needed the Service Pack 2 CD which I don't have at the moment (I'm on vacation) . I would think that could be the problem, but then why does simply logging off and on make Windows work like a charm? Is it an update glitch? Has anyone had this problem before? Could somebody please help me since I'm really tired of waiting around or this stupid thing to load (not to mention hearing myself come up with stupid theories). This has been going on for 4 and half months now. Come to think of it it's been a while since I received any Bootcamp updates from Apple (unless they just haven't released any that could fix such a problem)
Just in case my specs are-- 2.4 GhZ, OS 10.5, nVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, 15 inch display, 250 GB (of which 30 GB is for Windows).
I'll be waiting for any answers/suggestions/tips/solutions. Thanks so much in advance =)

Y560 Windows 8.1 update problem

Hi guys.I hava an issue with Windows 8.1 update.I know Lenovo does not support Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 on Y560 but i have used Windows 8.1 for 2+ years.Sometimes ago i had to format my pc.I installed Windows 8.1 without problem but when i try to install 8.1 update it fails and reverts to Windows 8 and gives 0xc1900101 - 0x30018 error code.I think it's driver issue but i cant find which one.Please help me

Can you try the following:
1. Follow this guide on how to perform a clean boot
2. Temporarily disable your antivirus software and install Windows 8.1 Update (KB291935)
Note:
Ensure you install KB2919442 first as this is a prerequisite for the Windows 8.1 Update (KB291935).

Software Update problems and update problems

Hi eveyone. I recently bought a used macbook with windows installed and decided to install leopard. unfortunatly there are some problems. 1st: Software update does not work, when I run it it says that it couldnt connect to the server. I've tried multple times but always the same. So then I try going to the apple downloads section and getting the 10.5.3 and security updates there. When i start the 10.5.3 update there is a message saying that it could not be installed on the volume: this happens with all the versions from 10.5.1 to 10.5.3. Can someone please help? I never had any problems with tiger updating either way.

What are you using to try to install Leopard? AFAIK, you need a retail Leopard install set.

Windows 8.1 update problem

I tryed to restore my computer (HP Spectre XT 15-4010nr) to certain date and I got a blank screen, I didn't know what to do so I used the recovery media, know I can't install windows 8.1 in the machine, I did all the updates from windows an the HP website before trying the windows 8.1 update, I got the message telling me windows couldn't be updated and a code 0x01900101 - 0x40019. Yesterday HP Support Assistant asked me to update “CyberLink PowerDVD 10” I did it, but I got a blank screen again and at the end a message saying that the update to windows 8.1 couldn't be done. So it seems that now a can't even do the regular updates. Any help will really be appreciated.

It's confused about your issue. Was your current operating system is Windows 8.1? Did you install the update for the Windows store app? Do you remember which update?
If yes, please view if this update installed successfully:
1. Click WIN + X, select "Event Viewer";
2. Click "Windows Log" in the right navigation;
3. Click "System", choose that the category of the "Source" is "WindowsUpdateClient" log, view if any clue.
If my understanding is incorrect, please correct me.

Installtion and Update problems

I have an iMac Intel (late 2007 model I think) and an iPhone 3GS. On my iMac, I have one user, who is adminstrator. I have following very strange behaviour:
Last time, when I was updating my iPhone through iTunes (8.2.1) from 3.0 to 3.0.1 the download finished in iTunes, but the update process went totally wrong, so I had a dead iPhone for several hours. I tried several times, deleted the package file, redownloaded it through iTunes, nothing.
Eventually, I could fix the problem (thanks to Apple Support Website) by creating a second (administrator) user, and updating my iPhone from that user's account.
So far this one thing.
The second strange behaviour is, that if I buy an App from AppStore, and download ith through iTunes, I cannot sync that app onto my iPhone. If I want new apps on my iPhone, I have to go through the mobile AppStore on the iPhone itself. The error I receive, when trying to sync the new apps from iTunes is an unknown one (iTunes actually says "an unknown error occured, try later" - thanks iTunes)...
I was not able to test if this issue is also solved by the second new and unused profile, but I have the strong feeling it would, if I tried.
The third issue is similar to those above, but it does not involve the iPhone. I have trouble installing packages from DMG files. Sometimes the DiskImage cannot be mounted, sometimes package verification fails and installation stops. This happens randomly: I tried to install the iPhone SDK, first the install cancelled because of some package validation, then (after a restart) the DiskImage checksum failed, then after a few more restarts, the DiskImage mounter throwed some codec overflow error, then after another few restarts the package installtion cancelled because of the package validation again (the DiskImage mounted miraculously).
Guess what the solution was: use the new and unused administrator account to download ans install the package. It worked. At the first try. As it's meant to be...
What the heck is going on? It seems to me, that a user profile gets messed up with time, because I didn't have ANY problems when I got my iMac. And the new user (created a week ago or so) works as expected (for now).
Anyone experienced the same? Am I supposed to reinstall my Mac like Windowze users have to every few months (guess what: reinstalling solves all 3 problems above - but they return)???

PS: I tested the iPhone SDK download with FF3.5.2, and Safari4, the download finishes but in both cases, the errors are the same. I have a direct internet connection, no proxies or whatsoever. The install error sometimes occurs with system updates, and already occured with 3rd party software installers too (like NeoOffice, Firefox, and others)

The behaviour started before 10.5.8, I think the iMac was shipped with 10.5.6 and I had problems already with that version. I always use Software Update, so I honestly don't know if I got the Combo or Delta update.
Any suggestions which housekeeping utilities/tastks should/could be used here? The only thing I was running every time these problems occured was "Repair Disk" and "Repair Permissions" with DiskUtility (didn't help though, but I still didn't give up hope). The Repair Permissions found tons of errors and corrected them, but as I said - no results.
I will check the console for errors and post if there was something interesting in there.

Windows XP and Mac Problem

I have 3 iPods, mine, by younger brothers, and my older brothers. My older brothers has been used on a Mac and works fine he hasn't tried to use it on the windows computer yet. My iPod has gotten all of its songs from the Windows computer. My younger brothers iPod got all of its songs from the Mac and wants the songs off of the Windows computer also. The Windows XP computer keeps saying that the iPod is not readable and needs updating. I have tried updating it and it says that it has the latest software at that point. Is there any way to get the songs from both the Mac and Windows XP computer onto the same iPod?

Windows 8 and itunes problem (iphone not showing up as a device)

My new PC laptop has Windows 8 and in itunes my iphone doesn't show up as a device when I connect it to the laptop. I've tried all the fixes mentioned.

Try one or more of the following:
- Restart your computer
- Uninstall & Reinstall iTunes
- Reset iPhone (will NOT delete everything) [Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset All Settings]
- Go to My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if it shows (should show as a digital camera)
- Restore iPhone (will DELETE everything) [Settings>>General>>Reset>>Erase All Content & Settings]
- Make sure iTunes & iOS Firmware is up to date.

I called a procedure in in-insert and on-update

I called a procedure in in-insert and on-updateWhy are you writing this code in the first place? If you have a block based on an updatable view, just let Forms do the inserts and updates.
If it's not an updatable view, use instead of triggers on the view.

Windows 8 and CC problems

I have installed the trial of CC and we get a flashing every time we move anything any ideas? We were using CS4 and the problems were much worse.
